Popular Reviews

Happy Trails by Quicksilver Messenger Service

This was like a recording of a rehearsal where the band were too stoned to reign anyone in, and at the end of it, they just said fuck it, let's put it out, done, now lets go and get a kebab.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf

A rock masterpiece from beginning to end.

The Sun Rises In The East by Jeru The Damaja
May 28 2025

This was good, I thought it sounded a little bit like the guru and read up that they worked together. A nice start, this is something I definitely wouldn't have picked myself.

Sea Change by Beck
May 29 2025

I could understand why Beck made this record after the previous offerings. It was interesting in some places, I like some of the strings, thought the variety of vocals was interesting.

Marquee Moon by Television
May 30 2025

I thought the song Marquee Moon was the standout. I thought some of the drums and hi-hats in particular were quite good. Overall a pleasant listen, something I wouldn't have chosen myself.

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
May 31 2025

I really enjoyed this which was surprising. I thought the opening to the album was excellent tasteful strings throughout. Nice length of record. I initially gave it 4 stars, however after a week, I came back and gave it 5, as I have listened to parts of it every day and absolutely love the record. I didn't realise it was released 17 or so days before he died and it definitely adds extra depth to it.

In It For The Money by Supergrass
Jun 01 2025

Some nostalgic moments, 4/5 belters and then a bit of filler. Enjoyed it. Great 3 piece. They made Bristol vibey as hell

Jun 04 2025

I thought was great. I did have 5 stars but the repeated faggot references knocked a star off, different times back then in 2000.

Life's Too Good by The Sugarcubes
Jun 05 2025

Not really in the mood for it.

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Jun 07 2025

Great voice, does what it says on the tin.

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Jun 08 2025

Album fits together pretty well. The singles are proper bangers.

Hot Shots II by The Beta Band
Jun 09 2025

Album fits together pretty well. I thought it wasn’t as good as their next album.

xx by The xx
Jun 10 2025

Great voice, does what it says on the tin.

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Jun 11 2025

Exactly what I thought it would be

Welcome To The Pleasuredome by Frankie Goes To Hollywood
Jun 20 2025

Mental good and bad. What are the covers all about? Singles are incredible.

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Jun 22 2025

It was interesting and futuristic and some nice melodies. I'm struggling to think of the situation or scenario where I would chose to put it on again. It's more like futuristic movie music than anything that would accompany my life, but it was well done for what it is.

Tigermilk by Belle & Sebastian
Jun 25 2025

I'm surprised this album made it in over the others. It felt like they were still finding their feat with this and the last track was a nod towards what was to come.

Jun 27 2025

I don’t really like their album tracks but some belters

British Steel by Judas Priest
Jun 28 2025

It was exactly what I thought it would be. Rock on.

Happy Trails by Quicksilver Messenger Service
Jun 29 2025

This was like a recording of a rehearsal where the band were too stoned to reign anyone in, and at the end of it, they just said fuck it, let's put it out, done, now lets go and get a kebab.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Jul 01 2025

It’s nostalgic

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Jul 02 2025

It was a bit of a journey, enjoyable but couldn’t listen every day it was that intense.

Jul 04 2025

If I could have given this no stars I would have. What an absolute joke. Probably the biggest load of rubbish I have ever listened to.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Jul 09 2025

Sultans of swing is that good, it’s worth 4 stars on its own.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Jul 10 2025

Fabulous and some people say she’s just big pair of tits.

Rocks by Aerosmith
Jul 11 2025

Aerosmith Rocks is a decent album that showcases the band’s raw energy and gritty rock sound. Tracks like “Back in the Saddle” and “Last Child” definitely stand out, delivering that classic Aerosmith swagger. However, the album as a whole doesn’t quite maintain the same level of impact throughout. While it’s a solid listen for fans of the band, it doesn’t quite reach the heights of some of their other releases. Good, but not great.

Purple Rain by Prince
Jul 12 2025

Purple Rain is a brilliant fusion of rock, funk, pop, and soul that showcases Prince at his creative peak. The album is packed with unforgettable tracks like “When Doves Cry” and the iconic title song, both emotionally charged and musically innovative. While a couple of tracks feel slightly overshadowed by the standouts, the album as a whole is a bold, genre-defying masterpiece that still holds up decades later. A near-perfect example of Prince’s genius.

Good Old Boys by Randy Newman
Jul 13 2025

This is what the 1001 album challenge is all about. I thought what the fuck??? Then it slowly hit me that this is a satire on the south in rednecks, and then it settles into some beautiful incredible songs. I loved it and I couldn't wait to get my next album out of the way to listen to this again.

2112 by Rush
Jul 15 2025

A lively listen. It's complex and wild because it can be, and we all need a wee bit of this from time to time. It's fun, but it's not memorable.

Traffic by Traffic
Jul 16 2025

It was quite good and live band jammy and pleasant. I would listen again.

Billion Dollar Babies by Alice Cooper
Jul 17 2025

I thought this was fantastic, I don't know what I thought of Alice Cooper, but this is wonderful and his voice is quite soulful and great.

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Jul 18 2025

I was open to this record, but I really struggled to get into it. Other than unfinished sympathy everything seemed a bit meh.

Soul Mining by The The
Jul 20 2025

I thought it was shit. and it's a shit band name, and album was boring. I like the cover though.

Casanova by The Divine Comedy
Jul 21 2025

Casanova by The Divine Comedy is like a posh man in a velvet suit whispering poetry into your ear while sipping red wine—simultaneously charming, cheeky, and a bit too pleased with itself. If Oscar Wilde made a Britpop album, this would be it. 10/10 for suave horn sections and innuendo so thick you could spread it on toast.

Revolver by Beatles
Jul 23 2025

Glorious

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Jul 24 2025

Rest in peace to the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne. Your music inspired generations. 🖤🎸 #RIPOzzy #Legend #ThankYouOzzy

Melodrama by Lorde
Jul 26 2025

I didn’t think I’d enjoy Melodrama, but parts of it really surprised me. Lorde’s lyrics are sharp and emotional, and a few tracks really hit. I respect the ambition and can see why others love it.

All Directions by The Temptations
Jul 27 2025

For some reason it’s ok for rappers to say the n word, but when I hear it from the temptations it feels wrong. They got sunshine on a cloudy day.

Rhythm Nation 1814 by Janet Jackson
Jul 28 2025

When you finish the album thinking the electronic drum programming was good, it kind of says it all.

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Jul 29 2025

But I did get Paul McCartney out of Wings. Homer: You idiot! He was the most talented one.

Darkdancer by Les Rythmes Digitales
Aug 03 2025

Not for me.

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Aug 07 2025

I liked bits of it a lot, but I also thought you could tell who her influences were, but you couldn’t tell who she is.

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Aug 09 2025

I got up this morning and I got myself a beer

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Aug 10 2025

I thought it was good in spells

Abraxas by Santana
Aug 14 2025

Abraxas is a timeless Santana masterpiece, blending Latin rhythms, rock, and blues into a hypnotic, genre-defying classic.

Want Two by Rufus Wainwright
Nov 17 2025
Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Nov 18 2025

I listened to this one twice thinking I was missing something. It’s all the album filler songs with the singles stripped out. Bang average.

The Real Thing by Faith No More
Mar 19 2026

It was decent in places but nothing special

Pretenders by Pretenders
Mar 21 2026

Brass in pocket aside it’s bang average

Among The Living by Anthrax

I was more impressed than I thought I would be. Some interesting songs, bit samey, but solid.

In Utero by Nirvana

Good memories of being 14.

Joan Baez by Joan Baez

A nice selection of folk songs, great range in her voice.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Jul 07 2026

A rock masterpiece from beginning to end.

Murmur by R.E.M.
Jul 10 2026

It’s a four because it’s a beautiful lay up before 3-5 slam dunks. Should really be a 3

Queens of the Stone Age by Queens Of The Stone Age
Jul 25 2026

They have one incredible song and it’s not on this album

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Jul 26 2026

A easy 5 stars. A timeless classic from start to finish.

The Infotainment Scan by The Fall
Jul 27 2026

Two fall albums in a week was not what I had in mind for a relaxing summer poolside listen.

Dummy by Portishead
Jul 29 2026

It was decent

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Jul 30 2026

It is just a cover album.

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Aug 01 2026

It’s an interesting listen in places but is there a chorus on the record. Radiohead used to have choruses

Queen Of Denmark by John Grant
Aug 02 2026

I really enjoyed this after a somewhat skeptical outlook based on a couple of shiters in a row. However, I enjoyed the combination of pretty melodic lines. Interesting lyrics and humour in places.

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Aug 04 2026

That was a joy from start to finish. My heart is full.

Drunk by Thundercat
Aug 05 2026

I’m not even sure this is an album. It’s a collection of funny wee ideas and some fleshed out songs but it’s the kind of thing you would send a producer to start the creative process and not just release. He can play bass.

Sincere by Mj Cole
Aug 06 2026

It was really great in places but a 2h album is a test of stamina in this project that takes off some of the shine.

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Aug 08 2026

It's fine
