To Pimp A Butterfly
Kendrick LamarI like it but I don't care for hip hop/rap or would really need to be in a specific mood for spoken word almost. His lyrics are good and have meaning but this isn't something I would ever put on. 3/5

This album started off really good, but towards the end I was hoping it would end... I just am not a fan of the style of guitar and a healthy dose is good but this was just packed with that. Overall 7.39/10
Pretty solid. 8/10 overall. Favorites being Man on the Moon and Everybody Hurts obviously but also enjoyed Try not to Breathe and Night Swimming
Not what I expected it to be. Pretty enjoyable, not something that I would always put on but if I am dying for jazz this is fun. Peaches En Regalia and Willie the Pimp were solid, The Gumbo Variations had a bit too much squeaky sax for me. There is a lot of squeaky sax. Bass is SOLID on all the songs to be honest so unfortunately I couldn't rank a song based on the bass alone. Noticing a trend with albums loving to have songs that are 10+ minutes long. Whatever floats your boat I guess. Nothing on here that made me go omg this is a show stopper. Overall a 7.42/10
Basically every Smiths song sounds the same to me. No one song is bad but nothing is exciting. This is put on in the background of a mundane task and zone out music. You typically will not be surprised while listening to a Smiths song. Barbarism begins at home's bassline is solid and makes the song enjoyable. 7.78/10 I'd give it a 3.5/5
Was excited to get this album- I really like fake plastic trees but had never really listened to the rest of the album. Was generally pleased with the album. Nice balance of guitar and extremely depressing singing 8.58/10
8.2/10
nothing on the album was bad, i'm just not an instrumental lover. 7.81/10
7.25/10. Totally not the vibe I usually go for. Not bad, just not my thing
7.46/10 More disappointing than I would like to admit. After only knowing "running up that hill" i was expecting more of her songs to have that feel and not many did. 3/5
I do not like the Rolling Stones. I do like "you can't always get what you want." Therefore this album was mid 7.89/10; 3/5.
Album felt incredibly incohesive. Swampsnake was good and Next was completely intolerable 2/5 7.64/10
I really enjoyed this album!! 5/5 Karen Carpenter's vocals are beautiful, and the whole album is genuinely enjoyable to listen to. 8.96/10
Great album! 8.82/10 4/5
BANGER ALBUM 8.6/10
3/5 pretty solid a good "put on in the background album" 7.63/10
sorry missy elliott not my vibe at all 2.5/5 6.85/10...
7.71/10 pretty solid, your typical 80s heavier rock. liked fire fire :) 3.5/5 3/5
Listened in both english and french. comme si is pretty good. for me it felt like basic pop nothing super outstanding. French was slightly better than english but maybe because i didn't know what it was saying. English: 7.23/10. French: 7.46/10 Overall: 7.33 3/5
I'm sure that they had fun making this album but some of this stuff just doesn't click with me the lyrics are WITTY though. I'll all of a sudden realize what they've said and go "oh shit" and that makes it fun. none of these songs I would listen to again, maybe Johnny Ryall? but it was fun at the beginning and then just repetitive as hell... sorry 6.83/10 2/5?
I'll say that I didn't hate it it just is very different than what I usually listen to? Diamonds and gold or clap hands was probably my fav The way I can describe this album is greasy man who I would try and stay away from... his singing is just not for me but it was an interesting album 2.5/5 -- 2/5 6.55/10
solid live album and as always, The Who are ridiculously talented. 4/5 8.39/10
3/5 7.77/10 gives halloweeny vibes at times, that's fun bass lines carry the album
I'm sure this music is for somebody, but that somebody is not me This is one of those albums you listen to once, and only once. 1/5. 2.38/10
Just really slow country bluesy feel Not bad, just not exciting, which is ok A female country singer which I liked, not a lot of that 7.71/10 3/5
I have a respect for it, I just don't care for it. It's musically really good though so major props its just not my style 8.07/10 4/5
This album deserves all the hype it gets. 5/5 9.39/10
Not a huge fan of this stuff- the effect he has over his voice has always grinded my gears a bit. Personal Jesus and Enjoy the Silence (prior to the final minute and a half) were highs on the album, but I knew them prior to listening...New wave just isn't for me 8/10 3/5
7.75/10; 3.5/5 but I'll give it a 3/5 Actually liked this album more than I thought I would- liked Sister Midnight and Dum Dum Boys.
4/5 Actually quite enjoyed. First song much more upbeat than the second, but I prefer the second, "in a silent way" 8.25/10
Not my fav, but not bad This album proved to me that most famous rock songs are in fact covers. 8.1/10 4/5
I like it but I don't care for hip hop/rap or would really need to be in a specific mood for spoken word almost. His lyrics are good and have meaning but this isn't something I would ever put on. 3/5
Another man singing/talking really low and thinking its poetic and nothing else quite redeeming abt it 2.5/5 ~ 2/5 5.67/10
8.23/10 liked! 4/5 Favs: blame it on cain and less than zero
6.21/10 Not a huge fan I think I accidentally listened to the deluxe version and the further the songs went the less I liked them... 2/5
Love this album 8.5/10 5/5 favs being: me and bobby mcgee (duh) and cry baby
Nothing special but not bad either 6.61/10 3/5
Honestly not bad but some of these songs are NOT IT (thorn of crowns). I liked seven seas, but this is just 80s mellow, sorry. 3/5
he kinda sounds like if a zombie's vocal chords still worked enough to sing but truthfully i don't care for tom waits at all maybe if you gave me a pack of cigs and told me to live out a angry 3 rats in a trenchcoat vibe 2/5
8.09/10 4/5 REM is always pretty good and I love end of the world and the one I love
9.39/10 5/5 Love this album! Favs: good times bad times and dazed and confused
I'll begin this with I don't like Kanye West at all as a person. That being said, I did my best to listen to this with an open mind. All of the Lights - 8.5/10 Monster was an 8/10 solely bc of Nicki. I hate how he constantly refers to himself as a prophet Runaway is a fantastic song no matter what 9.5/10 blame game was pretty good until the last two minutes. what the fuck 7.12/10 3/5
didn't love it didn't hate it but didn't like it either 6.95/10 2/5 holy mid
seven nation army dun dun dun dun dun d honestly not a fan of the rest of the album i am tired while listening but im just not interested 3/5
mid 6.68 2/5
okay funky this album surprised me I actually liked it quite a bit nothing too crazy but all genuinely enjoyable songs to listen to 4/5 8.21/10
Lowkey disappointing compared to Purple Rain didn't finish it in one day- but anticipate rating will be 3/5
This album surprised me in that I didn't hate it I am sick of the 80s lowkey... but this was moderately good 3/5 7.64/10
Pretty solid, felt like I was listening to a Pixar album for a minute Didn't appreciate the first song too much...why need to say slurs to get your point across 3/5 7.83/10
Just background noise, electronic music not much to care about. 6.75/10 2/5
feels like the cover looks, and that's not a bad thing. Just wish I had a 2000s movie over it 3/5 7.46/10
i hated this i don't like hip hop i don't like weird sex and sexualization what is going on here nothing about this was something I would listen to again 1/5
Jazz never really pisses me off it, just is there solid i'd say, love a good upright bass 3/5 7.42/10
Not bad, 3/5 mostly instrumentals? which i dont really associate with bowie idk
As I go through this list, I am constantly surprised by 1) how many songs I know 2) how much I don't care about a lot of these albums. Each one has something different to offer, and it is obvious how they have contributed to their respective genres, but I don't think I have fallen in love with anything new yet. 3/5 7.08/10
Pretty solid but nothing shocking. good vocals. 3.5/5 ~ 4/5
3/5 7.38 if the vocals for eleanor rigby were made into a whole album.
that cover of across the universe was...something. 3/5 7.5/10
Truly amazing how many songs can be on the same album but not be similar. 2/5 6.2/10
and if a double deckerrr bussssss i liked it more than i thought but i did know some songs beforehand 8.45/10 4/5
this album is mind numbing. Ok computer's cousin no one talks to because it sucks. Not every radiohead album needs to be on this list and this one shouldn't be called great please let it end. 2/5 6.79/10
not bad solid 3.5/5 like american girl duh
not bad but all of these songs be sounding the exact same bro. putting me to SLEEP 2/5
Listened to it a day late- not terrible but some songs are just awful (I spy), I really liked Disco 2000 though.
OK some songs not bad, but def not all around insane John Lennon was just a guy 7.9/10 3.5/5
Super duper talented bassist and guitarists holy moly! Singing ruins it for me. I hate that low rumbly yelling. But wow talent!! 7.83/10 4/10
Not bad, a lot of covers on here that I have heard before but by other artists. Nice to see Dusty's rendition of them. However, a lot of these songs have the same formula and sound to them and after a while it gets boring. 3/5 7.8/10
Album is chill honestly. Bass lines are not crazy but sooo good they ARE the song and honeslty drive the album and I found myself actually nodding along which I cannot say about a LOT of these albums. Has such a good 80s rock sound but not in the hair metal genre (i don't know a ton about 80s music genres). This was a 4/5 but not in a way that was like all great songs. these songs just didn't piss me off and all would be good to put on in the back of like work.
FIRE FIRE FIRE One of the greatest live albums and I've never really listened to Johnny Cash before. bro was COOKING on that harmonica god damn 8.34/10
7.5/10 3/5
