I wanted to like this, but half way through, i just wanted it to end. There were some good tracks here and there that gave hope...but the fillers were just not really good.

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Oct 07 2025

I didint realize i like soul music as much as i did till i started this album journey. Stevie wonder, who i am familiar with, was the first soul album on this list for me, and really set the bar, which others havent easily passed.

might as well be a greatest hits album. Most bands can only dream of coming up with this many great songs, and to do it on one album. Mind blowing.

fun dad rock. Keyword is fun. Proves that he is more than a drummer. Really well done album, even the production on it is top notch

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Nov 08 2025

I was familiar with the hits. Of which there are many. But the non hit songs, were really amazing as well. Just a really solid album up there with the best

Ys by Joanna Newsom

hideous album that was painful to listen to

Rainy day morning album. When you feel slightly disconnected from the day or reality. the album just fills that void perfectly.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Nov 30 2025

Decent album, with some catchy tunes. But alot more serious subject, and delivery, which is not what i was expecting when i popped on a beach boys album.

Dec 02 2025

I didnt expect to like this album. And i am not really a coldplay fan. Generally i find their albums alittle to formulaic and simple, but this album was a huge surprise. Maybe cause the bar was so low, i rated it so high, but i listented to it twice, and enjoyed it both run throughs.

Picture Book by Simply Red
Dec 11 2025

Great album, but more soul and jazz than pop imo. But i am far from a music snob. the groove really carries this album from start to finish. It really holds up well given how old this album is.

Gorillaz by Gorillaz

The journey was light and fun, while still be spiritual which was refreshing and i really enjoyed it

Endless noodling, with just little too much backyard country energy for me.

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
Dec 22 2025

You can hear some of the influence in this album. But at no point did i feel like this album had any direction. It just seemed like it was a bunch of ideas that were not fully flushed out. But the influence is why i gave it 2 starts

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Dec 27 2025

I was dreading listening to this album, cause i grew up on it. And it got overplayed. specifically thriller. But after finally hitting play...i was pleasently suprised. The hit songs, are ingrained in my brain, but put together as an album, WOW. Great from start to finish. I even enjoyed thriller, I guess i didnt remember the song as much as the video. So while familiar, it was still an awesome track. and felt suprisingly fresh.

Right after she passed away this comes up. So i was ready to love it. But it reminded me too much or church gospel music, and i dont really like that style.

OK by Talvin Singh

Nice fusion of india tabla drumming with western electronic music, but always felt like a forced fusion. Would have enjoyed more if the electronic aspect was pushed to the background alittle more

Very moody. The first song was hard to get through, but after that the album became pretty enjoyable. Alittle more poppy as the album progressed. The tail end slowed down a bit...but was still very easy to listen to. Not my normal style of music...but i can appreciate it for what it was. Every song was decent to good except the 1st song. That one was not for me.
