Sublime from start to finish
Great album, definitely a keeper
A good album but never a fan of Mick Jagger’s vocals
Never listened to a full B&S album before, thoroughly enjoyed it. A keeper and a grower
I just wish it was The Royal Scam, my favourite Steely Dan album
Probably a very good album for some but an endurance for me
Excellent album, a first for me, definitely a keeper
Absolutely solid album, every song a winner
28 minutes I’ll never get back
Love Billy, early stuff only though not a bad album
I’d forgotten how much I love this album, utter beauty all the way through
This is certainly an album I could've done without hearing before I die!
I respect the guy, obviously talented but his voice makes me physically sick. 38 minutes lost. I would’ve happily died before hearing this
This is certainly an album I could've done without hearing before I die!
I accept that he has influenced pretty much all the artists I love from the Beatles to Punk, for that I give it 2 stars. I can only imagine though that there was bugger all else to listen to back in the day because to me it's just bloody awful bollocks.
Still totally fresh, a massive aural trip, love it
Musically better than expected, but that’s from a massively low bar. Still bloody awful
Not really my bag but I got on with it well enough, would I listen to it again? Unlikely
Great to revisit this absolutely sublime album
Loved them right up until this album, tiring
Loved revisiting this, stands the times well
A bit of an ordeal, always struggled with Bolan’s voice but I have to credit him for influencing some amazing bands
41 minutes of pure rock cliche. The title track is of course genius however, so 3 stars for that alone.
When I first heard this in 1987 it was a fairly torturous listen but revisiting this 38 years later it’s a little bit worse.
Lyrically very good, not a bad album and that’s ignoring Morrissey, for whom I have no time for at all
Cracking opening track, talented musicians. Bored the pants off me
In the recent sea of shite on here this comes across as charming and refreshing! I’ll never listen to it again although I know most of the tracks anyway
An album concentrating on the N word, MF word and his extensive knowledge of guns…shite
At last, an album I’ve never heard that I’m actually glad I’ve heard before I die! Elements of Scott Walker and Nick Cave, it’s a keeper
Not a terrible album but probably 45 minutes too long and full of fillers. Heard it before back in the day, didn’t need to hear it again.
Normally there’s at least one track I like on even the worst album but this is utter bilge. I never want to see this album ever again, my day is ruined
Is there some kind of algorithm that determines I get to hear albums most likely to offend my lug ‘oles? Utter garbage from the first note, full of irritating cliches. Bloody awful dirge
A sold album, the very good tracks outweigh the obvious fillers
Absolute sure fire classic
Still sounds fresh, great album
Oh how I dislike Morrissey…
Bloody brilliant album though.
A fantastic bit of fun! A massive antidote to the shite R&B, pop and Bloody Elvis you’ve forced me to endure
Well, this has sent me down a massive Drum’b’Bass wormhole, bloody love it!
Guys, Rumours has done well, we’d better knock out another album.
Yeah, we’ve got some songs left over, they’ll do. There’s a couple that are half decent.
Mick: I can’t be arsed to drum though.
Don’t worry Mick, a basic effort is all that’s needed, punters will buy anything…
Art school jank. Wouldn’t go near it again
Utterly beautiful throughout, never get tired of it!
It’s a bit like being visited by distant relatives, not a deeply unpleasant experience, there’s some fun moments but you didn’t really want to see them and you’re just as happy if you never see them again.
I think this’ll be the last time I listen to this and I’m very happy about that.
My third favourite Pink Floyd album and still unutterably brilliant.
Honestly you have to be a total psychopath not to absolutely adore this album.
I’m not a fan of country music, whatever age it is, I must say though that this wasn’t as shite as I was expecting. I could probably listen to it again if pushed, doubt I will though…
Every track’s a banger, they never bettered this!
One of the greatest reggae albums ever made. In fact, just a bloody wonderful album.
Starts with a bang, fades out in a whimper. Plenty of bangers but doesn’t result in an album I’ll want to listen to again
Classic of course, great musicianship, timeless tracks…just not really my cup of tea
Yep, it’s a brilliant album, heard it many times, but fuck me I’ve had quite enough of xmas so I’ll listen to it again in summer
Simply, an album chock full of bangers. If you don’t love this album you have no soul!
I recognise Miles Davis as an incredible musician but with each track on this album I think of one of three things:
1. Coronation Street has just started.
2. Coronation Street has just ended.
3. Something has fallen down the stairs.
I’ll go out of my way to avoid listening to this again…and watching Coronation Street
I have great respect for Herbie but it really seems the band were just working their way up themselves.
I’ve never listened to a complete Rush album before.
I genuinely hope never have to listen to another one.
At last, something actually worth listening to, really refreshing after the pile of utter bollox foisted on me recently
Several random musicians, albeit highly talented ones, recording in different rooms with different notes. Borderline irritating
She’s brilliant, love her lyrics but somehow manages to make all her songs a variable of about 4 classics.
I shall be listening to some tracks again.
I’ve spent my life actively avoiding this album, sure I liked Suzanne but just thought it was marked as single material and the rest of his stuff was dreary.
Fuck me, how wrong was I! Absolutely magical from start to finish, listened to it 4 times in a row and looking forward to hearing it again.
Far from being dreary it’s full of humour and the lyrics are are almost like limericks.
Absolutely remarkable.
Morrissey minus Marr equals shite.
Plus he’s generally disagreeable.
Two tracks of note otherwise it’s a pile of shite.
Absolutely genius that does not diminish.
I don’t understand why I’ve never listened to this album completely before, it’s magnificent, utterly magnificent!
If you don’t give this 5 stars you have no soul.
This is a bit of fun! Having said that, absolutely not my cup of tea and I was fairly pleased when it ended.
I heard Songs Of Leonard Cohen for the first time this week, it blew my mind.
This, however, is an absolute pile of utter bollox. I can never unhear this nonsense.
It just sort of bobs along like a country album does, not entirely shit but not terribly engaging. I guess to some this is a great album but to me, about 12 hours after listening to it, there’s nothing memorable about it.
We all know You Oughta Know was a masterpiece and that’s what the stars are for, nothing else on the album shines as bright.
The perfect pop album! Always loved it, always will.
I’m not a great fan of the Stones, Mick’s affected drawl gets on my wick, he’s from Dartford after all but I liked this album so much I listened twice, I was sort of forced to because my iPhone went a bit wonky but I didn’t hate it.
Yes, Mick’s fake southern drawl still irritates but musically and lyrically it was a cracker, I wouldn’t necessarily listen again out of choice but it chugged along quite nicely.
Enjoyable if not memorable
I never liked ABBA as a child, but I’m olde now and thought a band so popular for so long deserved an open mind. So with that open mind I looked forward to Arrival!
Fcuk me, what a total waste of 41 minutes, absolute shite
I liked it and worth exploring further.
Oh blimey! I have brain ache, there’s no excuse for this, the fact they influenced new Metal genres means nothing, crap influencing crap.
Ultimate low point was chants of ‘Get Your Tits Out For The Lads’…yeah, deep
My friend used run a hi-fi shop in the 80’s and used to dread Saturdays. All the dull hi-fi buffs would come in to hear the new Kef or Mission speakers and bring this on CD, I laughed.
Today I had to listen to it, fantastic musicianship totally wasted on the dullest pile of shite created! 54 minutes of meaningless twaddle, 5 plus minute tracks that went absolutely fcuking nowhere. I will happily die before I put myself through this guff again. 0 stars is too high.
I like three Psychedelic Furs tracks, two are on here, the rest of the album is passable.
Great album, musically superb, Billy Corgan’s vocals get on my nerves though
A fantastic antidote to the utter shite I’ve been put through lately. Pure class
Was expecting to hate it.
Turns out I love it, how about that!
Undoubtedly talented but fcuk me it’s dull, like a consistent mediocre 36 minute drone.
Rather hoped it would be harder hitting than it was. All in all a bit of a disappointment
Obviously a good pop album…leaves me cold
Banging from start to finish
Utterly dreadful, dreary country shite, apart from The Weather Man, which is not dreary, just shite. Nothing exceptional lyrically or musically. Pretty much unlistenable
Not as pedestrian as expected but unlikely to be a go to album
Number 120 of my 1001 albums and let me be quite clear, this album should be rated 10, 5 is not enough. Utter genius from start to finish.
Anyone who rates this less than 5 and does not consider this album as essential really should give up now, music is not for you my friend.
Great album, very easy to listen to
Not normally a fan but enjoyed this so much I listened twice
Technically brilliant, a bit pedestrian though
Although I can see how people would dislike this album to me it’s of its time and absolutely full of bangers
I remember them being a reasonably big deal back in the day but had no recollection of their music and having just listened to the album TWICE, I now know why, instantly forgettable.
Top notch, aside from every time Damon Albarn opens his gob
What a pile of self indulgent twaddle. On the plus side it’s quite impressive that they can play so well with their heads so firmly up each other’s arse. Not quite the worst album I’ve ever heard but really not far off
Standard dull Yank shite.
Avoid at all costs
If you don’t find this album utterly perfect then you shouldn’t be on here
