Good to Me as I am to you is an epic song on this album full of hits from the queen of soul
First song on the album is a banger. Then I got bored and tuned out.
Not a huge fan of rap, can't say I am now. I found myself groaning and turning it down constantly just wanting it to be over. Kendrick can go fuck the world with his Eiffel tower dick.
This was so beautiful to listen to. It's like eating your favourite snacks and hanging out with close friends. Warm, Inviting and when the time comes for you to leave, you can't wait to see them again.
It's not the kind of music I would usually listen to, but I could see how if I was in a depresso mood, I could put it on and brood. Extra star because I could hear the Bowie influence in the songs which helped me experience the album in a more meaningful way.
I appreciated how experimental this album was for the time.
I laughed at the corny lines, and every song sounded the same.
The final song, Brick Is Red, was my favourite song on the album, up until 1:13- I had thought it was an instrumental piece without the screeching. I appreciate the historical significance of this band and the contrast of grunge music with the name Pixies delights me. Not an album I ever want my ears to endure again.
Can't deny the music is fab...but the man was an arse.
A historical snapshot which continues to tell the story of America today. Some fabulous jazz and blues to enjoy, sometimes the voice felt jarring against the music.
A beautiful trip through the birth of flower power by an incredibly talented young person. The lyrics relating to British mythology combined with the Indian & Middle Eastern influence were delightful.
I don't feel cool enough to listen to this Album, but I really enjoyed it. Hip hop 90s nostalgia.
It's different, it's interesting, it's experimental. I felt as though I'd been slapped in the face by his creativity.
I know that R.E.M are an incredible band, I know they play an important piece of the puzzle in the alternative rock scene. I was around when many of their hit songs were released, I just never lost my shit about them, and haven't now either.
I bopped along to the tunes. I don't want to give 4 stars to a convicted murderer, so it's getting 3. I like to play Christmas tunes when it's December, I just think I prefer mine without the homicide.
I enjoyed listening to this album. I knew a couple of songs already but had never really listened Blur. A fun, British rock album with cheeky, relatable lyrics and some surprising references.
So many fabulous tunes on here from a musical prodigy. Loved it!
Oh, this is a lot of fun! And I love me a girl band from the 80's.
The lyrics in some of the songs are so much sadder than I ever knew. God Only Knows always makes me cry. Harmonies are rich and the music is lush.
This was nostalgic for me, I owned this album as a 15 year old. I sang along to the melancholy tunes.
Penguins are pretty cute. I imagined these Penguins went on a journey to outer space.
Nothing offensive, nothing really that interesting. Pleasant enough.
I usually enjoy the sound of a woman screaming in pleasure, but imagining Dre fucking anyone made me vom. My ears are still bleeding.
A gentle listen musically, however it is terribly sad and melancholy.
I always enjoy listening to the Beatles and I feel like I hear something new every time I listen.
Absolutely loved this! Not sure it needed the testing out FX track, but as someone who has never listened to a Black Sabbath album, I now understand why they were massive.
My 7yr daughter listened to 'I found that essence rare' with me and she said, I don't like the voice, it sounds like "whining, whining, winge, winge, Bikini" I tend to agree. I tried to find some enjoyment in the bass lines, but the guitar and vocals ruined it for me.
Meh, I'm not sure what Elvis was back from.
More than a feeling is classic,. Fun 70's rock, I enjoyed it.
Background music & entirely forgettable.
I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. I don't want to listen to it again though. I remember when electric eel came out, and a few of the other songs made me feel nostalgic.
It's a solid three from me, I wouldn't buy this album, but I didn't mind listening to it. A nice memory for me with the song I mentioned, but other than that, nothing spectacular.
It was fun to listen to Björk, not knowing to begin with that I was listening to Björk! I'm giving it 3 because I enjoy her solo album better.
I love Bowie, his image, his creativity, his vulnerability, and his music. A story teller who embodied his art completely.
I know I listened to this album but I actually cannot remember anything to write about it. So I guess that makes it entirely forgettable.
There is no amount of sauce that will make it taste better.
Some interesting fusion ideas. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. I won't listen to it again.
Pleasant enough, nothing really stands out. I did enjoy hearing Rod as it was a surprise to me that he was singing some of the lead vocals.
Again, I really enjoyed listening to Black Sabbath, but I think I liked Vol 4 more. I can't tell exactly why, I probably need to listen to them one after the other. Or perhaps it's just how I was feeling at the time.
The album was a never ending song that I wanted to end. Not even Dolly could save this for me.
I don't have much to say about this, didn't love it, didn't hate it. Middle of the road for me.
Thoroughly enjoyed this album. Whilst I'm not necessarily a punk fan, the influence on the Clash is heard, but not grating. I found myself in a happy state after listening to this.
I had so much fun bopping along to this album in the car!
It was ok, I actually like a lot of their songs but the album wasn't a standout for me.
This guy has a thang for horses, and he should see someone about it.
Some interesting songs, some I did not enjoy at all.
A most beautiful double shot depresso.
Watched the movie, it was absolutely ridiculous, I'd swim in that champagne/chocolate/bean mix with Ann-Margret any day.
1st song is a classic, the rest is forgettable, nothing offensive, nothing that interesting.
I'm sure this appeals to someone...I'm so sick of listening to masculine voices at this point. Particularly in the punk genre.
Not a huge Metallica fan, but they have my respect.
Fun to listen to, none of the classics I've enjoyed in the past from this motown group.
Kinder Murder is the best track on this album. Otherwise I wasn't really sure about it.
Loved this instrumental Jazz party.
First listen to a Dylan album all the way through, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This was interesting, and it was the perfect soundtrack for a tram ride and walk through Melbourne on a gloomy rainy day.
The perfect Portlandia soundtrack.
Love this, and would listen to it on repeat.
One classic song that I knew, which was joyful to hear. A pleasant listen.
Some tunes on this one! A lotta fun to listen to.
Not a fan, it could have been a great folk album, but it's another mediocre 80's album.
A wall of sound coming at me with no relief.
Similar to many other bands of the time.
I thought I would like this more than I did.
I don't want to own this album, but I appreciate what they were and the story behind the lyrics is devastating.
I think this was was an okay listen, but it was boring and repetitive. The best song on the album was out-side. I think it had a dog barking in it and a telephone. A few other crazy stuff I did like the way they mix all sorts of weird shit together every song sounded like I'd already heard it before. It's a three from me.
The nostalgia trip was enjoyable, and I remember this feeling so new and different at the time it was released.
Oh I had to laugh at Shiznits. If I listen to this album as a comedy album then it is hilarious! Taking it seriously...I have no words. I'm just shaking my head. It's a shame because I really like Snoop Dogg's voice. I just think it's so different and unusual, particularly in the rap scene, but this is just gross.
Having to listen to another album full of walls of sound with no relief made my ears hurt again.
Not a fan of Johnny Cash, and having to listen to him kill some covers cause me more pain than hurt.
Not my kind of country, just more wingeing and whining than I could handle.
Don lures you in with what you think is going to be a foll rock album, particularly with the first songs on either side. American pie is classic, but everything else was samey and faded into the background for me.
Dad used to listen to Wings in the car so this holds nostalgia for me, and I sang along to Band on the Run, Jat, Mrs. Vandebilt and Let me Roll it.
I'm really not that into country, even Willie Nelson.
All the songs sounded the same and went for too long, though I did enjoy the black cat sound effect.
Classics that I enjoyed listening to, but I don't think I need to own this album.
That was a ride on the Autobahn I wasn't prepared for.
Music for the dining room.
Not as bad as some of the other rap I've had to listen to, not great though either.
