1001 Albums Summary

Un-offensive, bordering on bland. Melodic in parts but this is music to send you to sleep on the sofa on a Sunday afternoon. Opening an album with what seems to be a plagarised track doesn't set the scene well.

Classic southern rock album packef with great, timeless tracks.

With a couple of exceptions I've always found Coldplay uninspiring - bland is the popular clichéd view, and it's difficult to argue against this, along with CM's whiny vocals. This album does nothing to change that. I've never understood their massive global appeal, I must be missing something.

Absolute classic bluesy rock'n'roll. Stones at their best.

Cave has never really been on my radar so this was a good, if overdue, opportunity to expand my musical education - and this is pretty solid. Now need check the rest of his catalogue to see where it fits.

Why the fuck is this incessant warbling considered anywhere near a 1001 top album list? Dreadful noise, doesn't deserve the 1 star it will get.

Love Bowie for much of his work but he also produced a lot of dross. This album certainly leans to the classic side but doesn't quite get there overall. 3.5 would be the right score but I'll err on the generous side just because it's Bowie.

Comes accross as pretentious, self-indulgent claptrap, including the alleged standout track Roundabout. 'Wanky' should sum it up.

Instantly forgettable light weight American punk... or something... I've forgotten tbh.

all a bit weird...an Irish country / something else-but not really punk- mash up. Would go down ok in the stereotypical Irish bars found everywhere. but top 1001 albums, really?

I listened, but it was a struggle. Dreary little tales with a lack of melody, rhythm or any redeeming qualities whatsoever. Surely must have been self- published, no reputable label would touch this nonsense.

forget about the genre, which seems to be the focus of so many people, some ok, some decent tracks, none of which are helped by the whiny sounding vocals.
