Elegant and nice

soft jazz, cool to listen but not my cup of tea

There are a lot better folk albums than this

Depression and madness are portrayed so well that this piece of music is absolutely terrifying

I listened to two first Prince albums beforehand as I was interested in the fact that he basically recorded all music by himself. Unfortunately, the compositions and songs itself don't sit with me well.

I think I get why do people praise this album - it's refreshing and full of new sounds. Unfortunately, the overall texture and sound of this album annoyed me for some reason.

I think I kinda don't get the whole avantgarde thing here - if this album is avantgarde then I don't know what King Crimson is. But it's nice, and the second half (from the title track) better than the first half.

It's been a while since I listened to such a neutered and diluted music... abysmal dogshit. Compositions are boring, the vocals are anything but catchy, and the instrumentals are absolutely typical for that era.

Loved the instruments, compositions are nice and vocals distinctive. It's 8-9/10 for me but I am giving 5/5 seeing how unjust Tom Waits has been treated in this ranking
