1001 Albums Summary

Two great classics along with some okay 70s rock

Classic of its genre

Boring

I mean it’s Led Zeppelin iv

5 for the crazy rockabilly vocal energy and guitar in the fast ones

I really tried

Could be 5 stars if Mother wasn’t in the middle of it

Not sure why this one’s even on the list

Not my thing

Very 80s production- good songs, a little too slick and boring

I should like this but I don’t really

5 if I was on drugs

Their best album

Wished I liked it more and I think I did when it came out

Some interesting cover versions and originals- some work and some don’t so much

Admire her voice and style of music but couldn’t finish listening

Requires further listening

Used to love the minimalist rap but this was hard to listen to now. Some good stuff tho

Might be 5 stars with more listens

Big dumb loud rock

Didn’t know this one - surprisingly good punk/pop with some experimental tracks

4 1/2 - couldn’t give it 5 - great album but not up there with beggars banquet, sticky fingers, exile

Boring

Feminist rap/r&b - not bad but I don’t need to listen to this again

It’s dumb and loud but some weaker songs (besides Bangkok) on side 2

Might be a 5 - I’d never heard it before

Ambitious sprawling - great long album with only a few weaker cuts

Probably more like a 4.5

4.5

Perfect for ritual sacrifice- not sure if listen again but it’s hypnotic

Never heard this one before- I’d go back and listen again

Two of their best songs, Victoria and Shangra-la - rest is great, some filler for the concept

Three classic songs - the rest is okay - don’t need to listen again

Don’t know why this is on the list. Quiet cafe jazz - nice background but couldn’t finish it

Sleazy 60s/70s funk - not his usual vocals - decent album

Most of their hits - good album

Not my thing

RIP Dolly - some great songs and some okay filler

Everybody loves this bug I’m not a Kate bush fan. This is the best I’ve heard so far and running up that hill is a classic. Side 2 is some weird concept piece

I guess this is a hot take, but beyond the title track, fripp solos and a few moments in the other songs- not my favorite Bowie album. I love eno but he takes over most of side 2

Perfect for my next ritual sacrifice!

There are a few weaker tracks (girl is mine) but this would be anyone else’s greatest hits album

Bloated with filler tracks but also some great songs

I’m annoyed by most of Kate bush - so this isn’t for me. Appreciate the instrumentation, can’t get her voice, not sure why she’s so worked up about monkey and bear. Meteorite part from Emily is stuck in my head not in a good way. Happy not to find something on Spotify for once

Could be a 4.5 when compared to the other two albums (side 2 does drag a bit) but a 5 compared to anyone else

Maybe 3 1/2

Perfect example of a lost classic- filled with great songs and production for its time

I mean - c’mon

Best parts get into a hypnotic groove

I think this is what magnetic fields 69 love songs is aspiring to. Too long to listen to the entire thing, but great timeless songs, perfectly executed

Interesting- most of it solo acoustic or very light background. Not sure I would listen again but nice country album
