1001 Albums Summary

Pretty good, very Beatles-esque. Had a few songs that I swore I must have heard before, but I'm not sure where that could have possibly been.

Outside of background music while doing something else, I don't see the appeal...

The first half of this album was great, but then it sort of...got worse. I was a little disappointed by it, but it's still not bad.

Over too soon! Short, sweet, and classic!

Show Some Respect was a good track, but otherwise this album is not for me. I can maybe understand how it was somewhat revolutionary for it's time, but I can't ever see myself going out of my way to listen to this. The extended remixes in the remaster weren't really necessary: I couldn't really tell the difference from the original versions (but maybe a seasoned listener could!)

As expected. Maybe blasphemous, but not my jam!

Honestly, this is pretty good! I like the funk, and skill is very on display here! Another short album, but that gives me more time to listen to other music!

It's for some reason not what I thought it would be, and exactly what I expected. I don't think I've ever actively listened to Radiohead before, and based on this, it will likely stay this way. I can't imagine a situation where I'd want to listen to this band: if I'm ever in the mood, Muse seems to do it better.

What on earth is this? Felt like I walked into a circus. A point for originality, though.

Something about this really rubbed me the wrong way...the sounds in this album were just grating. Could not finish it.

I was considering just skipping this, but there are actually some bangers that I recognized on here! Big Iron was already in my Saved Library, hilariously, and I had no idea that was this album. Very surprised at the quality of this album, give it a chance!

Great: loved it then, loved it now. I absolutely can see why they took off!

While she can sing, this was absolutely not my cup of tea.

That first track was way too long and will haunt my dreams.

The best way I can describe this album is that it makes me feel carsick without being in a car.

OK, THIS is why the band is so well regarded. I always thought I enjoyed them, but didn't think them as anything super spectacular. This is something special, however!

I understand why this is important, but it's not for me.

Surprisingly (to me) good! The unexpected cover song threw me and I had to double-check that it wasn't the original.

Ugh, I've always disliked Linkin Park. ... After giving it a try, I still feel the same. I understand that this is an important album for many people as it serves as a sort of "intro" to a lot of genres, but outside of its impact, I just don't think it's good music. It's like how training wheels are useful on a bike, but no "good" bike has training wheels on them.

Largely forgettable middle, but great opener and finisher.

Had low expectations, but it really helped me focus on writing. So I guess it was good?

Started off strong, but wow repetitive. It was fine. The first song is a cover, on top of that!

American Pie was great. Babylon was also kind good. The album was never worse than medium.

I was just about to give up on this album, but This Is Love was decent. I'm rating it 2, even though it's more like a 2.5.

Wow, I did not expect to hate this SO MUCH. Couldn't finish it.

I listened to far too much of this album, as I sighed to myself, returning to my work computer after my far too short break, working at the job that I need to have to pay for my house, so that my family is supported, and maybe they don't have to experience the crushing of the...9 to 5....twing twang twing guitar solo God, how irritating. I understand activism is important, but at least make the music sound good. Made it 80% of the way through.

As a whole, it's OK, but a couple of tracks like The Killing Moon are great!

Did not like the first half, but the last few tracks sort of grew on me (specifically, Of Moons, Birds & Monsters).

Surprising! I had never thought twice about the Green Onions song, but it's neat to just stumble upon it. Nice little instrumental album.

You can definitely see how amazing bands like The Mars Volta drew inspiration from this great album. Excellent work.

I wish I listened to this decades ago. I feel like it is no longer novel or unique, so it's hard for me to rate it fairly. Nothing in particular stands out, but this is entirely my kind of music.

Hey, pretty good! I believe the big influence they've had on other bands due to how familiar they sound.

Honestly, far better than I expected it to be! Some good classics on here, and I would give it a 5 star rating if it weren't for how bad Little Star is...

Not my jam. I really tried to finish it, so I skipped ahead to their most listened song on this album on Spotify, and hey! I know this song, it isn't bad! So I went back and finished the album. One good song, thirteen not my jams.

I don't know these guys, but this wasn't a bad album. However, I'm not sure why it's on this list.

This is such a great album, and what every live album should aspire to be. We should all be grateful that this album was recorded before it was too late.
