This is one that really shows the UK bias in this list. I don't think anyone (non-UK people, anyway) outside of drum and bass or DJ culture would consider this any kind of essential album - it's cultural relevance is pretty niche in the rest of the world - so I don't know how much it belongs here.
That said, giving it a fair hearing, I didn't enjoy it too much. I could get into some of the beats but the overall style and production sounds very dated and I found most of the vocals kind of embarrassing.
I've been dying to have a platform to say this for a long time: Enter Sandman is a dumb song.
There's a reason why a good half of existing Metallica fans bailed after this album. Call me when Ride The Lightning is on.
This guy is the worst.
If there were a couple of really standout songs I'd go 5 stars. But even if it sounds mostly the same throughout, I don't really mind at all. I love the vibe of this record!

I always wanted to hate RA but I dated a girl who was a big fan and went very slowly and reluctantly from "a couple songs are alright, I guess" to "damn, this guy's good." Later albums have some higher highs but this is probably his best album front to back (though there are a couple of duds) so four stars. Too bad he's a big creep.
Wanted to like this more, but it was just a little too sloppy and noisy for me to enjoy for more than a few songs at a time.
Love the B-Boys and there are some classics here, but it's too long with too much filler.
I dunno, man, I consider myself a bit of an anglophile, musically and I like the specific "British-ness" of the Kinks and Pulp and other groups, but something about Blur is just a bit much for me.

The best tracks here are awesome, and I generally like the sound of this record, but it's a lot of the same thing and I was wanting out bad by the end. Cut this album in half and you've got a banging EP though.
When Neil’s on a bummer, that’s my shit. When he feels like ‘rocking’ (Cinnamon Girl, Down By the River), not so much.
