Never listened to the album before though know a good few of the songs. It's bloody good. The context - what he's singing about IN A PRISON - is just great, really adds something
Not a big fan before this listen and that's not changed. I can see why the 3 most popular tracks are the only 3 I ever really hear - the rest are average at best

I didn't expect to see this on this list at all. Only ever listened to Cohens best ofs/greatest hits. He died not long after this record was released and that hits home in the lyrics

Loved it. So glam in parts but some genuinely catchy tunes. Feels like the roots of a lot of modern stuff like Ariel Pink etc too
I love that regardless of genre or "sound" you can always have some catchy almost pop hooks / moments. Not one I'd choose to listen to often but I did enjoy these couple of listens
Funk :( I'm getting nothing but repetition and not much in the way of hooks. It's just not for me

I love a concept album. This is great in scope, I just need more listens to get the lyrics down. Likely to grow on me further
The title track (and first 3rd of the album) is fantastic - not really "funk" at all. Some great guitar riffs and solos. Almost sounds like an atmospheric intro to a Mars Volta track. After that it is "funk" but still not too bad
