Live Through This
HoleThis album rocks! I never gave Hole a chance based on the anti-Courtney Love feelings in the mid nineties. Shame on in me. As far as I'm concerned, this is real grunge right here.

Aptly named album. Great listen.
Is it music because someone is making musical sounds with their voice? Because instruments are being used?
Silly rhyming about sex. Not my thing but I did catch myself dancing throughout the album.
Thinking about other music from this era, this was a markedly different sound. Love the sax!
I went back in time listening to Nothing's Shocking. I love everything about this album.
I've heard great things so I wanted to LOVE it. The first half disappointed me but then I started appreciating how much it rocks. After listening to it all the way through I gave the first half another chance. Still not loving it but still a really good album. I would like to give it 3.5 stars so I'm rounding up to 4.
Hard to believe he also did The Wander. Apparently he's got a blues album it there too.
Much better than I expected. Too much soft rock for me to love it though.
Steve Winwood! Wait a second, this isn't at all like Back in the High Life or Roll with it. Or like any of his work with Clapton, Hendrix, or Traffic... So much synthesizer. 2.85 stars
The album cover gave me Big Lebowski vibes, and I think The Dude would like it. I liked a couple songs I never heard before. Jump into the Fire was a nice surprise. I'll be listening to this album again. 3.4 stars
Just Paul and that's just fine. Nothing earth shattering. I did love when he sang about Linda even if it wasn't a fantastic song. Of course Maybe I'm Amazed was great.
It took so long to get through this. I learned that jazz with no horns is easy to ignore. 2.4 stars
This is jazz I can enjoy. I'm not a fan of the scatting but she didn't do much of that.
This album made an impression on me when it came out. It's not the type of talent I associate with much of the artists on this list, but that's not what electronic/dance music is about. I dig it. 3.6 stars
Great songs, rough singing voice.
I have to admit that I've heard this so much that I'm sick of it. I'll give it a 4 even though I'm feeling 3 because I'm grumpy about hearing it again.
This is what it sounds like when grunge is being born. This album was good - I liked Doolittle better. 3.3 stars
The album cover doesn't really fit the sound and I was skeptical. I could hear mild punk and some funk and rock in there. All good. Total surprise to me. I'll be listening to this again.
Zzzzz.
I hadn't heard some of these and the songs I knew, I didn't know they were M.J. Good stuff.
Great album start to finish. Some songs were 5s for me and others were 4. Chris Cornell man. He's just amazing. There is no one else like him, never was. </3
Not a lot to say.. I've heard a few of these songs and think they are good tunes.
Blondie seems to have a multigenerational fan base. I've got nothing against Blondie. This album was fun, nostalgic, and a bit uneven.
Mostly a 4 because of nostalgia
Did Andy Samberg base his SNL music skits on this band? The lyrics are shallow and the music is nearly the same for all the songs.
I think my favorite song was their cover of Stop Your Sobbing by The Kinks.
Old skool rap. I like it.
This is a high 2 star rating, really.

I had a good time heading back to the 80s. I hadn't heard a couple of these before. A few standout songs but I had enough when the album was done Annie's voice is amazing. One of the best voices in rock music.
I guess I don't like R&B.
Lots of his trademark screams. Lots of soul.
Not my kind of music
I don't know man, I danced the whole way through this. Loops be damned, I had a good time.
Most of these songs were a 2 but a few were fun so I'm rounding up to a three.
I didn't know he wrote these songs. I guess I've been a John Prine fan for a while. Well done!
Super funky. I love it!
Low 3 for me
This was too long.
So so good. I am going to listen to this again right now
I would like this better with no voice. High 2 stars at most.
I didn't liked this when I was living through it. I know the content is so misogynistic but I like a few songs much more than I did then.
Right on! Old skool hip hop! I hope there is more of this on the list.
Was this a joke? It isn't funny
Silly, witty, and romantic popish music.
This is country. I don't like it.
It's pure garage punk energy - short, catchy, and makes you wanna mosh.
I wish I liked Radiohead more. I like the angsty sound but I can't always tell what the songs are about with all the mumbling.
This was pretty okay. Sounded like a lot of other bands. That's fine, just not a favorite of mine.
What a nice change from modern country. This is good Two Step music.
This is what comes to mind when I think about MTV unplugged. It was a huge deal when it came out and it aged well. I love it!
Not my thing. It's a high 2 so I guess that makes it a 3
Karen Carpenter's voice is so good. I don't want to hear it though. I'm not into it.
One of the first songs on the album talked about calling the doctor at peepeefiveonedoodoo. The first "song" was porn. It's hard to take it seriously after that. There were more juvenile references that just kept taking it down. What could have been good hip hop/psychedelic funk ended up losing to the bodily fluid references.
This is how you can get me to enjoy Country and Western music.
It felt like they were going for something big but it didn't hit for me
More noise than music
She sings her heart out. It's a really good album and not the type of songs I typically hear on the radio.
This has some killer riffs and Bruce Dickinson's vocals are powerful,. I'm not a metal fan but this is for sure a classic.
Led Zeppelin is incredible and Robert Plant's voice is one of a kind. This is an album I continue to come back to year after year.
Is post punk pop a thing? The songs all sound the same
This is alright. It's got that fuzzy, distorted guitar sound and there's a decent amount of melody buried under the noise, which keeps it from being just a headache.
Some songs are fun but overall it's a 3.4 for me
Punk with adolescent humor and catchy tunes. This was almost a 4
I definitely did not listen to this when it came out. Now that I'm a middle aged adult I want to play it so loud my ears hurt.
Laid back beats and socially conscious lyrics. I'm into it!
Quirky mix of genres. Varied instrumentation about love in all forms. I'm never going to listen to this again.
Love the vocals and smooth rhythms.
Although some of the lyrics are cool and Joni Mitchell's voice is unique, this album isn't a stand-out for me.
I listened to this twice. First time I was going to give it 4 stars because Nico. Listening again I'm appreciating her out of placeness and it would be a shame to dock the album a star due to her awkward and annoying voice since she only sang lead in a few. Rough, unpolished, beautiful album.
Whether it's punk blues or rockabilly punk, I wonder if this is the beginning of alternative rock. Regardless, I'm a fan.
I don't have a lot to say. This is enjoyable chill background music.
Funky, trippy, cool from start to finish.
Has an interesting sound that I don't hate. Not a fan of the mumbly songs though. I'm missing something.
Taylor Swift’s 1989 is her first non-country album and is a testament to her remarkable talent, dedication, and ability to create anthems that resonate with millions. 1989 has a few catchy quintessential Swift songs with hooks that we won't forget any time soon. While some critics call it formulaic, it’s clear that Swift is more than just a pop star; she’s an artist who knows how to connect with her audience in a way few can. Dismissing her fans as ‘sheep’ is another way to invalidate the opinions of teenage girls who see something real in her music. The extra half-star is for her influence on modern music history and how she’s shaped the pop landscape.
Wish I liked this more.
