Ryan Adams
5/5
This album is so fun!! I love this! So easy on the ears to listen to. This is like Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, or Bob Dylan but better. Country? Rock? I liked it either way. Ryan isn't the best vocalist, but it all fits the style and is fun. I liked this so much I went and found the 4 extra songs not on Spotify to listen to. I was very hard set on giving this 4 stars and I am not quite sure why, this deserves a 4.5 rounded up to a 5 from me. I enjoyed the entire album.
Liked Songs: Literally everything. Although "Answering Bell" and "La Cinega Just Smiled"

Beastie Boys
3/5
This album was...fine. The hits for the Beastie Boys are sooooo good but the rest is fine. It definitely has its moments tho. The instrumental songs were very interesting and not something I thought I'd hear the Beastie Boys do. Actual...2.75
Liked Songs: "Sure Shot" , "B-Boys Makin' With The Freak Freak" , "Root Down" , "Sabotage" , "The Update" , "Do It" , "Heart Attack Man"

King Crimson

Goddammit I hate this album. This is like the 3rd time I've listened through it. I don't get it overall. The rock moments overall are fine, but the songs get BORING, go on for WAY too long, and like sometimes I'm like "these guys had way too much money to want to record THIS." I do not get the hype. Sometimes there is just silence and random noise going on and I am like what is this. It lowkey gives me anxiety. Also WHAT THE FUCK was "Moonchild"? Not good is what it was. Kinda funny that Kanye sampled "21st Century Schizoid Man" for "Power"....what a much better song. I think I was a little harsh on my first review ever of it. I gave it .5 stars. This isn't worse than "Dub Housing" so it gets 1.
"Liked" songs: "21st Century Schizoid Man" and "Epitaph"

Black Sabbath
5/5
Wow...I had never heard of this Black Sabbath album before, but it is sooooo good. "FX" was the only song I didn't love, but it's kinda like a short interlude (only 1.5 minutes). This album is heavy with some kick ass riffs "Supernaut", has some melodic peaceful parts "Changes", and just about everything else in between. Tony Iommi is sooo talented. I Ioved this. May be my favorite Sabbath album. Maybe a 4.75 because of "FX"
Liked Songs: The entire album minus "FX"

Aerosmith

So I have listened to this album before and damn do I love it. Some songs here I NEVER get tired of and could listen to them on repeat all day. Steven Tyler is one of my favorite singers in all of rock and Joe Perry is a great guitarist. This is prob more like a 4.5 star album
Favorite Songs: I love this whole album but "Sick As A Dog" , "Lick And A Promise" , "Rats In The Cellar" , and "Back In The Saddle" are highlights

Portishead
3/5
Very good album. Much better as it went through. Dark tones. The beats were very interesting. Favorite songs: Mystery Box and It Could Be Sweet. (Rated a 3 but probably a 3.5 or 3.75)
Peter Gabriel
4/5
Really like this album. Fun tones, sounds, and beats. Peter Gabriel has pipes. I will definitely be coming back to this. Only song I knew was Sledgehammer. Favorite songs: Red Rain, Sledgehammer (duh), Big Time, In Your Eyes
Ramones
4/5
God I love this album. It's so simple. 1 4 5 every song hahaha. Beginnings of punk. I feel this was ahead of it's time for 1976. It's prob a 4.5 for me. Favorite songs: Blitzkrieg Bop, I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend, I Don't Wanna Go Down to the Basement, and Havana Affair
David Bowie
2/5
This album was fine. The highs were highs and the lows were....eh. Many other Bowie albums I'd rather listen to and I hope are in this list we are going through. Prob a 2.5 album. Favorite songs: Valentine's Day, (You Will) Set the World on Fire, The Stars (Are Out Tonight)
Bob Marley & The Wailers
3/5
Pretty good album. Not something I would normally listen to, but I appreciate what it did for reggae music. Bob Marley is an icon. Favorite songs: Exodus, Waiting in Vain, Jamming, So Much Things To Say, Three Little Birds (of course)
Electric Light Orchestra
5/5
Holy shit was this album great. I don't know if there was a bad song on it. I've only heard the ELO hits before and wow I need to keep deep diving. I'm blown away. The Whale was probably my least favorite track, but it wasn't bad at all
Favorite songs: Mr. Blue Sky (obv), Across the Border, Sweet is the Night, Wild West Hero, Night in the City
Bob Dylan
1/5
Ugh....Bob Dylan just can't sing. I get the appeal tho. The fact he was 22 when he made this album is also really cool. I get he was super influential but idk...every cover of a Bob Dylan song is better than his version. The song writing is pretty good but I know it gets better later in his career too (most of this album is covers). Probably more like 1.5 stars
Favorite songs: Don't Think Twice, It's Alright and Blowin' in the Wind
Gang Starr
2/5
This album was definitely better than I had anticipated as a non hip hop fan. A lot of the songs started to kinda blend together tho. I think the beats were creative. The vocals didn't really interest me too much
Liked songs: Just to Get a Rep, As I Read My S-A
Minor Threat
2/5
Short album. It was fun but there are many other punk albums I would rather go to. I think after a while they started to get really repetitive especially the vocals
Favorite songs: Look Back & Laugh, Sob Story, Cashing In
Tom Tom Club
1/5
Talking Heads without David Byrne
This album was fun but not my style. A little out there. I'm not sure I'd ever listen to this again tbh. The beats were super 80s (a lil too 80s for me)...I just can't get into the vocals either
Liked songs: None
Disliked songs: Wordy Rappinghood
Solomon Burke
3/5
This was a good album. It made me feel like I was back in my grandparents' house. I would need to be in a very specific mood to listen to this album but I did really like it.
Liked Songs: Cry to Me, Just Out of Reach (Of My Two Empty Arms), Can't Nobody Love You, and Won't You Give Him (One More Chance)
Paul Simon
3/5
I really liked this album. It's not my favorite album in the world but I love Paul Simon's voice, the beats are fun, and the instrumentation and scores are creative. I think it is more like a 3.75
Liked Songs: The Boy in the Bubble, Graceland, You Can Call Me Al, Under African Skies, That Was Your Mother
Quicksilver Messenger Service
2/5
This album was fine. It was a fun concept as a jam album but it seemed to not really go anywhere. I was entertained for the first half until "Who Do You Love Pt.2" and then got bored. Calvary is too long.
Their cover of Happy Trails was BAD and Van Halen's is WAY better lol
Bee Gees
3/5
I liked this album but it was not what I had expected at all. I was expecting Disco and instead it was like if the late, more mature, post-drugs Beatles wrote instrumentals for a David Bowie inspired singer to sing over.
I kinda Disliked the 2nd half (From "When Do I" onward) but I loved the 1st half
Liked Songs: Israel, The Greatest Man In The World, It's Just The Way, Trafalgar
LCD Soundsystem
2/5
This album was good. It did get boring after a while. "Black Screen" and "pulse (v.1)" were toooo long. Clearly a lot of talent went into this but not my style. It started to feel repetitive.
Liked songs: "call the police" and "oh baby"
T. Rex
3/5
Fun album. It took me a little bit to enjoy the singer's voice, but I enjoyed it. The Extended Version is better than the original release in my opinion. It's a fun album with good guitar parts. Probably a 3.5
Liked Songs: "Mambo Sun", "Monolith" , "Bang a Gong (Get It On)" , "The Motivator" , "Rip Off" , "Raw Ramp" , "Woodland Rock" , "King of the Mountain Cometh"
Van Morrison
4/5
I really really liked the album. It's not a no skipper which stops it from being a 5 star but boy is it good. It's Just overall a lot of fun. "Glad Tidings" a great closer.
Favorite Songs: "Moondance" , "Crazy Love" , "Caravan" , "Come Running" , "These Dreams of You" , "Brand New Day" , "Glad Tidings"
Slipknot
2/5
I think this album was...fine. The guitar riffs and drum parts were a lot of fun, but I can't get into the screaming too much. Now, when they sang more calmly, it was very impressive. Sometimes the screaming is appropriate, but it is a lot. Prob more like a 2.5
Liked Songs: "Snuff" (I LOVED this one) , "Sulfur" , "Dead Memories" , "Psychosocial"
The Stone Roses
4/5
I really really liked this album. It was a lot of fun. I think I'd need to be in a certain mood to turn this album on but I will definitely be returning to this. The guitar parts were great and it was just a good time. I think the last two songs, while long, were a fun jam. This album gave me major R.E.M. vibes. Prob more of a 3.75
Liked Songs: Everything except for "Don't Stop" and "Elizabeth My Dear." I LOVED "She Bangs the Drums" tho
Beck
3/5
This album was fun. Def not my favorite but I enjoyed it. Some people talk about Beck like a guitar god and I'm not sure about that. There are fun guitar licks and parts and it's very good, but this album didn't have me go that far. Anyway, I did enjoy this album. I'm definitely willing to try more Beck.
However, what the fuck was "Computer Rock." I hate ending albums with songs like that lolol
Liked Songs: "Devils Haircut" , "Hotwax" , "Lord Only Knows" , "Novacane" , "Where It's At" , "Minus" , "Readymade" , "Ramshackle"
The xx
3/5
This album was sooo calming. Honestly I'd work to this for sure (I was working when I listened to most of this album). The vocals are so well done, the instrumentation sounds so clean and clear. I really like it. I need to be in a mood to listen to music like this but I can see listening during a night walk/drive for sure
Liked Songs: "Crystalised" , "Islands" , "Basic Space" , "Shelter"
Pixies
4/5
I really really liked this album. I see how Nirvana considers them one of their biggest inspirations. The similarities are strong. There also seems to be some similarities with R.E.M.
Favorite parts: From "Ana" until "Hang Wire" ...all those songs HIT. "Blown Away" will be in my constant rotation
Aerosmith
5/5
So I have listened to this album before and damn do I love it. Some songs here I NEVER get tired of and could listen to them on repeat all day. Steven Tyler is one of my favorite singers in all of rock and Joe Perry is a great guitarist. This is prob more like a 4.5 star album
Favorite Songs: I love this whole album but "Sick As A Dog" , "Lick And A Promise" , "Rats In The Cellar" , and "Back In The Saddle" are highlights
Herbie Hancock
3/5
This album was good. I know it is iconic and Herbie is legendary but sometimes I feel that the songs go on for a little too long, however, it was fun to listen to. "Chameleon" and "Watermelon Man" are iconic but to be honest, "Sly" was my FAVORITE. This is an enjoyable album to have in the background as you do other things.
Favorite Songs: "Sly" and "Chameleon"
Death In Vegas
2/5
This album was...interesting. The beats seemed to never go anywhere. A lot of them started off great and then they just...stayed where they were. I listened to both discs and enjoyed the "Dirge - Slam Mix" and "Dirge - Adrian Sherwood Remix" better than the original version of "Dirge".
Liked Songs: "Dirge" , "Flying" , "Aladdin's Story" , "Neptune City" , and "One More Time"
Low Point: The weird screaming around the 3:20 mark of "Aisha"
The Velvet Underground
3/5
This album was a lot better than I thought it would be. I listened to "The Velvet Underground & Nico" a few years ago (the album with the banana peel) and didn't like it so either my music interest changed, this album was a lot better, or both lol.
"The Murder Mystery" REALLY lost my interest tho lol. I had this album as a 4 and this song dropped me to a 3/3.5.
Overall this album had some really calming and intricate parts and some up-beat rock parts.
Liked Songs: "Beginning To See The Light" , "I'm Set Free" , "Some Kinda Love" , "What Goes On" , "Pale Blue Eyes" , "Jesus" , "After Hours"
Led Zeppelin
5/5
Yeah this album is pretty much perfect. Side A is completely flawless. "In My Time of Dying" may be one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs. "Kashimir" is a classic. Kinda shocking that this isn't Led Zeppelin's best work. I hope we get to listen to "Led Zeppelin IV". It is....absolutely stunning. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham are essentially a supergroup by themselves. I also thought "Bron-Yr-Aur" was super interesting and not a song I would have expected for them to make. Probably a 4.5 because I know it gets even better.
Liked Songs: "In My Time of Dying" , "Kashimir" , "Trampled Under Foot" , "Houses of the Holy" , "Ten Years Gone" , "Custard Pie" , "The Rover"
Suzanne Vega
2/5
This album was fine. It got better the longer it went on. I did not like the vocal style in "Cracking" at ALL. It was...too short and rhythmic and it felt awkward. But the longer the album went on the better it got. Suzanne Vega is a great vocalist and I like her singing style in most other songs. Probably more like a 2.5.
Liked Songs: "Marlene On The Wall" , "Some Journey" , "The Queen And The Soldier" , "Knight Moves"
Donald Fagen
4/5
This album was definitely influenced by Steely Dan and it is soooo good. I can definitely seeing myself digging into Donald Fagen's discography some more. There wasn't a song I didn't like, but ironic that I thought the weakest song was the one the album was named after. The vocal harmonies and guitar parts all throughout this album were amazing. "Walk Between Raindrops" was my favorite.
Liked Songs: "I.G.Y." , "Ruby Baby" , "New Frontier" , "The Goodbye Look" , "Walk Between Raindrops"
The Prodigy
3/5
I liked this album. It was wayyyyyy better than "The Contino Sessions." I am normally not an electronic music fan but these beats were entertaining and I felt like these songs actually went somewhere and didn't just drone on. The lyrics were definitely questionable at times and not really a highlight of any songs. "Narayan" was wayyyy too long and "Serial Thrilla" was boring lol. I am not sure if I would return to this album, but it was entertaining.
Liked Songs: "Smack My Bitch Up" (feels so wrong saying I liked this one, but the beat was so catchy) , "Breathe" , "Funky Shit" , "Firestarter" , "Fuel My Fire" (this was probably my favorite one)
Funkadelic
3/5
This album was pretty fun! I am not sure how often I will return to it, but it was a good time! The solo song of "Maggot Brain" was fun, although it did go a little long in my opinion. However, what the fuck was "Wars of Armageddon"....the burping throughout it was so weird.
Overall though, I did enjoy most of this album. Probably more of a 3.5
Liked songs: "Can You Get To That" , "Hit It and Quit It" , "You And Your Folks, Me And My Folks" , "Super Stupid"
5/5
What is there to say about this album that hasn't been said before? This album is STILL the most sold album in UK history. Additionally, it is also the most returned album of all time because no one expected it and it was unlike anything done by anyone before. This is also the first album I ever owned on vinyl.
This album is the start (in my opinion) of when the band went from being led mostly by John Lennon to being led mostly by Paul McCartney. The Beatles could no longer tour (because it was too dangerous because of fans) so they decided to become a studio only band. Paul decides they should create the first ever concept album where they all have alter egos and they aren't "The Beatles" anymore. They are "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." And what better way to kick that off then to have a song introducing this fictional band and then introducing the fictional front man "The One and Only Billy Shears" aka Ringo Starr. So we come up with a fictional band with fictional band member names and roles and that is how we can let Ringo be the lead lolol (jk jk this is an exaggeration and oversimplification. Ringo had sang lead before and everyone in the band loved him.)
We get the opening track sung by Paul, then "With a Little Help From My Friends" sung by Ringo, and then "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" sung by John. Later, "Within You Without You" sung by George. I just love how in the Beatles while MOST songs get credited to Lennon-McCartney and one of them sings lead most of the time, any member can sing and have their role expanded at any time.
I will say... "Within You Without You" is just not for me...I think it is a good track and can be entertaining, but it is the only song off this album that is not saved to my downloaded songs. To be fair, George's best work is still yet to come (I'm looking at you "Here Comes the Sun"). Every other song on this album is a certified banger. I think "She's Leaving Home" is such a tragically beautiful song and I love it so much.
I would be wrong in not talking about one of my favorite Beatles tracks of all time - "A Day In the Life." It's so perfect. The fact that Paul had a half written song "Woke up, fell out of bed / Dragged a combo across my head" and John Lennon had about 3/4 of a song written "I read the news today, oh boy / ... / He blew his mind out in a car / He didn't notice that the lights had changed." And they both sing lead in this song on the parts they had written before combining them. God...this song sends chills down my spine and the fact that they decided to combine the two ideas....mastery. It just works so well. And that final chord....wow.
"When I'm Sixty Four" and "Lovely Rita" get blasted sometimes for being filler songs and I don't know...I think they are so good and are like nods to their earlier styles of music.
The Beatles get more refined and polished later, but Sgt. Pepper's is maybe their height of creativity (and wasn't toooo far out there yet).
My top 3 Beatles albums pretty much move around and could be in any order based on the time of day lol, but Sgt. Pepper's is DEFINITELY always in that top 3.
Liked Songs: All of them except "Within You Without You"
Thin Lizzy
4/5
So I have never been a Thin Lizzy fan before, but damn was this good. From beginning to end it was so well done. The solos go crazy, the riffs are awesome, and the vocals sound so clear. This may be one of my new favorite live albums. Also 1 hr and 17 mins doesn't feel too long at all.
Special shout out to the transition between "Cowboy Song" and "The Boys Are Back in Town"....WOW that was clean.
This is more like a 4.5 for me.
Liked Songs: "Jailbreak" , "Emerald" , "Southbound" , "Rosalie / Cowgirl's Song" , "Massacre" , "Still in Love with You" , "Cowboy Song" , "The Boys Are Back in Town" , "Don't Believe a Word" , "Are You Ready" , "Baby Drives Me Crazy" , "The Rocker"
Alanis Morissette
3/5
This album grew on me the more it went through. At first I wasn't a huge fan of Alanis Morissette's vocals, but by the end I liked them a lot more than when the album started. This album also had some songs on it I kinda forgot I knew. The 2nd half of the "Jimmy the Saint Blend" version of "You Oughta Know" was interesting. This album is probably more like a 3.5.
Liked Songs: "You Oughta Know" , "Hand in My Pocket" , "Right Through You" , "Forgiven" , "Mary Jane" , "Ironic"
The Who
2/5
This album was fine. A lot of songs went on for too long. I feel like in most cases I'd rather listen to the studio versions than the live ones. I was entertained, but I will probably not be returning to this album. Especially with "My Generation," the studio version of that song is shorter and way more interesting.
Liked songs: "Heaven And Hell" , "I Can't Explain" , "Young Man Blues" , and "Substitute"
David Bowie
2/5
Eh. This album was fine. A lot of the guitar parts were fun (especially in "Stay") but eh... The song "Station to Station" was good, but I did not really like the introduction. I feel like it's disrespectful to rate a Bowie album this low, but I know there are better albums.
Real review of like 1.5 stars
Liked Songs: "TVC15" and "Stay"
The Black Keys
3/5
I like the Black Keys. Brothers is a solid album, but I KNOW it gets better. A LOT better...aka El Camino. I really like the vocals and guitar parts but some songs on this album just aren't as catchy as they will get later on. More like a 2.5
Liked Songs: "Everlasting Light" , "Next Girl" , "Howlin' for You" , "She's Long Gone" , "Ten Cent Pistol" , "Sinnister Kid"
Roxy Music
1/5
Ehhhhhh. I feel like this album never got off the ground for me. It kinda felt like a below average musical soundtrack. The vocalist's voice irritated me. "In Every Dream Home A Heartache" and "The Bogus Man" were just outright bad. The guitar licks and tones were fun and hype but it couldn't save this album.
I'll give it a 1.5 for cool guitar tones and licks....
Liked Songs: "Do The Strand" and "Editions of You"
Solange
3/5
I thought this album was good. I'm not sure how often I will return to it, but there are some really good songs here. She is a really talented singer and the rhythm parts were fun! I did think having an interlude between practically every song was a bit much.
Liked songs: "Cranes in the Sky" , "Mad" , "Where Do We Go" , "F.U.B.U." , "Junie" , and "Scales"
New Order
3/5
I liked this album. Not many of these songs made it onto my playlist of songs that I loved, but the vibe of the album was very good and I thoroughly enjoyed the album. It felt VERY 80s to me. More of a 3.5
Liked Songs: "Love Vigilantes" , "Sunrise" , "Sooner Than You Think", "Face Up"
The Smiths
2/5
This album was fine. I do not like Morrissey's voice 7 times out of 10 lol. I think the first half of this album is strong and then they lose me in the second half.
Actually a 2.5.
Liked Songs: "...I Started Something I Couldn't Finish" , "Girlfriend in a Coma" , "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before"
Pixies
4/5
I liked this album. I see where a lot of bands like Nirvana use the Pixies as a major inspiration. I do think the highs of this album are very high ("Wave Of Mutilation" , "Here Comes Your Man" , and "No 13 Baby") and the lows are low ("Silver" and "Mr. Grieves") Actually 3.75
I also feel like during this album they knew their sound and were more confident in it a lot more than during the album "Bossanova"
Liked Songs: "Debaser" , "Wave Of Mutiliation" , "Here Comes Your Man" , "Dead" , "Crackity Jones" , "No 13 Baby" , "Gouge Away"
Happy Mondays
3/5
I really enjoyed this album, although after awhile all the song's started to sound very similar. I did enjoy most songs and I think this album is great background noise as I am doing something, but there aren't many songs here that I will be adding to me usual rotation and I probably won't be checking out the rest of their content. Actually a 2.75.
Liked Songs: "Moving In With" , "Mad Cyril" , "Fat Lady Wrestlers" , "Performance" , "Wrote for Luck" , "Lazyitis" , "Clap Your Hands" , "Boom"
Kanye West
4/5
Kanye the rapper and producer at his most self-aware. Its a shame that he turned out to be a REALLY shit person. Kanye went into a self-induced hiatus from the public (the Taylor Swift incident occured the year prior) and after getting all his favorite people to come out to Hawaii and help him with the album...the results are amazing. (He even got Elton John to work on "All of the Lights" with him.) The Production is incredible, the features are amazing (Kanye even said that Nicki's verse in "Monster" is the best one. Which coming from HIS ego is impressive), and the songwriting is fantastic. Kinda ironic that Bon Iver worked with Kanye on this album and would later work with Taylor Swift on "exile" 10 years later. I do believe that Chris Rock's part goes on for too long (it probably could have been cut out.) This album was integral to my music taste in high school.
I still believe "All Of The Lights (Interlude)" is one of the most beautiful pieces of work and the intro to "Runaway" always gets me emotional and brings me back to high school. This rating is actually a 4.5.
Loved Songs: All of them except for "Blame Game" , "Lost In The World" , and "Who Will Survive In America"
Miriam Makeba
1/5
Miriam Makeba is a super talented vocalist. This album is just not for me and I probably won't be returning very often either. I do appreciate what is being done hereand I also like the instrumental parts. They are fun for sure. I think her cover of "House Of the Rising Sun" is good, but I definitely like the versions by "Geordie" and "The Animals" more. Actually a 1.5
Liked Songs: "The Naughty Little Flea" and "Where Does It Lead"
Sarah Vaughan
3/5
I liked this album. It was a vibe for sure. I was listening while driving around while it was snowing and it just felt...right. Sarah Vaughan is an extremely talented singer and this live album was done really well. You even heard something fall during a song which proves that it wasn't "touched up" too much... if at all. I thought it was interesting that she closed with a song that she "didn't know the words to," but I thought it worked and I liked the song a lot. A lot of the songs do sound very similar, but she knows her style and is good at it. Although...David Lee Roth's version of "Just a Gigolo" is better. (Although, he is covering the Louis Prima version.) Actually a 3.5
Liked Songs: "Willow Weep For Me" , "Just One Of Those Things" , and "How High The Moon"
Willie Nelson
3/5
I liked this album more than I thought I would. The vocal harmonies were soooo good. I really liked a lot of the instrumental songs too. Normally I am not a fan of country at all but this was pretty good. I LOVED "Remember Me (When the Candle Lights Are Gleaming)." Actually a 2.5.
Liked Songs: "I Couldn't Believe It Was True" , "Red Headed Stranger" , "Denver" , "O'er the Waves" , "Down Yonder" , "Remember Me (When the Candle Lights Are Gleaming"
Norah Jones
5/5
This album was so so so good. It was amazing. I loved it so much and now I want to listen to more of Norah Jones's stuff. This is not an album I would listen to on my own normally and now I am so happy I checked it out. Loved it so much. The instrumentation, her voice, the writing, the lyrics...all great. A few songs felt redundant but otherwise near perfect. Actual rating...a 4.5.
Liked Songs: "Don't Know Why" , "Seven Years" , Feelin' The Same Way" , "Shoot The Moon" , "I've Got To See You Again" , "One Flight Down" , "Nightingale" , "The Long Day Is Over"

1/5
Well...there was ~35 minutes of my life I will never get back. What the fuck was that album??? That might be the worst thing I have ever listened to. I am sitting here trying to come up with something positive to say and I have nothing. This wasn't even music...it was just noise. "Thriller!" ....horrendous. I apologize to all other albums I rated a 1....I wish I could give this a 0 or a negative score. (Jacob I really hope you didn't like this album or I'm gonna feel bad)
Liked Songs: Absolutely None
Tolerated Songs: I guess maybe "I, Will Wait" and "(Pa) Ubu Dance Party"
The Smashing Pumpkins
4/5
Yeahhhh this is a fantastic album. I understand if Billy Corgan's vocals are not for you, but the guitar riffs, the passion in the vocals, etc etc are so so good. I will say...this is a longgggg album (over 2 hours) and there were definitely some filler songs that could have been cut, but all things considered, it's a great album.
I personally wasn't a huge fan of the last 5 songs (although Farewall And Goodnight wasn't too bad) but Disc 1 (as referenced on Spotify) was near perfect. Actual rating is a 4.5.
Liked Songs: Too many to name: "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" , "Tonight, Tonight" , and "1979" are all CLASSICS. The first 6-ish songs are all perfect
Sex Pistols
5/5
"God Save The Queen"
I love this album. If you don't like punk...this isn't going to be for you. Do the songs start to sound the same? Sure. But does that mean it's bad? Absolutely not. I absolutely love Johnny Rotten's vocal style and the guitar tones on this album are amazing. There wasn't a single song I disliked. Actual rating is a 4.75.
Liked Songs: I added every song except "Liar" , "Seventeen" , "Submission" , and "New York"
Duran Duran
4/5
I thought this was a solid album. I already knew and loved "Rio" and "Hungry Like The Wolf" but I enjoyed the album overall. I really wanted to shout out the bass parts throughout these songs. I really enjoyed them and thought they were catchy and creative! Actual rating is a 3.75
Liked Songs (Other than the 2 I mentioned above): "My Own Way" , "Lonely In Your Nightmare" , "Last Chance On The Stairway" , "Save A Prayer"
Rufus Wainwright
5/5
Yeah this album was awesome. I don't even know how to describe it. It had "Radiohead" influence but with horn sections? Also the singer reminded me a lot of the "Lemon Twigs" vocalist. Such a great album. Every song was different yet similar and so good. I liked this album a lot especially considering I knew 0 about it before listening. "Go Or Go Ahead" might be my favorite "discovered" song from all these albums so far. Actually a 4.5.
Liked Songs: "Oh What A World" , "I Don't Know What It Is" , "Movies Of Myself" , "Go Or Go Ahead" , "14th Street" , "Harvester Of Hearts" , "Beautiful Child" , "11:11"

Phil Spector is a convicted murderer. Kinda wild this album is on here (but appropriately assigned on Christmas). I also know Phil Spector was an extremely influential producer and is known for developing the "Wall of Sound" production style. He also produced the Beatles album "Let It Be" including the song "The Long and Winding Road" which I love.
That being said, I do enjoy how this album is a huge collaboration project between a ton of musicians. I didn't really like the songs that Bob B. Soxx worked on tho. However...I have trouble ranking a Christmas album much higher than a 3 and even at that, it's not my favorite Christmas album. The "Silent Night" last track was a pretty creative way to say "goodbye and thanks for listening" tho. I do like how these albums sound old which is fun.
Talking Heads
3/5
I liked the beginning of this album a lot. If all the songs were like "I Zimbra" this would be a 5/5 album. I think the first half of this album was strong, but then the ending was weak. Also the "alternate version" of "Mind" was better than the regular version. Solid 3.5 album.
Liked Songs: "I Zimbra" , "Paper" , "Cities" , "Life During Wartime" , "Heaven"
Songhoy Blues
3/5
This was a good album. The melodies were a lot of fun. Probably not an album or band I come back to very often, but a pretty enjoyable blues album. I always forget about how much I like the blues until I listen to it again.
Liked Songs: "Soubour" , "Irganda" , "Nick" , "Wayei"

I liked this album. It wasn't fantastic or anything, but it was solid. Aretha Franklin is a fantastic vocalist (obviously). Actually a 3.5.
Liked Songs: "Chain of Fools" , "Money Won't Change You" , "Niki Hoeky" , "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" , "Good to Me as I Am to You" , "Come Back Baby"

2/5
This album was fine. It's VERY pop/synth heavy which is just not for me. Some of the beats are fun tho. I thought it was interesting how the 2nd disc was the same set of songs but in French. Real review.... 1.5.
Liked Songs: "Doesn't matter" , "5 dollars" , "Make some sense"
Nick Drake
5/5
I am not sure what all to say. This album was pretty perfect from beginning to end. It was super enjoyable and I loved every second of it. The vocals took me a second or two to get adjusted to, but they are so good. The instrumentation was beautiful and this album was peaceful and so enjoyable. The trumpet part in "Hazey Jane II" was GREAT. I am going to dive into more of Nick Drake's music.
Liked Songs: The entire album although I didn't LOVE the song "Sunday"
Eels
3/5
This album was fun. Their singer's voice took me a long time to get used to, but I did like how their guitar parts sounded very...space-y. Some songs were really not my vibe and others were fun. Also, I think the song "My Beloved Monster" was in Shrek lol.
Liked Songs: "Novocaine For The Soul" , "Rags To Rags" , "My Beloved Monster" , "Guest List" , "Mental" , "Manchild"
Miles Davis
3/5
I liked this album. I'm normally not in the mood to listen to jazz, but this was a solid listen. 2 songs = 38 minutes lolol. The jams were fun and of course...Miles Davis is a legend. Actual rating is a 3.5
Liked Songs: I liked em both!
The Mamas & The Papas
3/5
I liked it. I was really into this 60s style in high school and it's a lotta fun. I do think the songs start to blend together, but it is comforting. There are some fun instrumental parts here and the vocal harmonies are great. Actually a 3.5.
Liked Songs: "Monday, Monday" , "Straight Shooter" , "I Call Your Name" , "Go Where You Wanna Go" , "California Dremin' " , "Somebody Groovy" , "You Baby" , "The 'In' Crowd"
2/5
This was a fun funk/jam album. It was great music to play while I worked. Not too much about the album stood out to me but it was fun. Great vibes. Some songs went on for WAYYYY too long, but I know that is the style. Actually a 2.5.
Liked Songs: "The Cisco Kid" and "Where Was You At"
Radiohead
2/5
Ugh...I know this album is like super highly regarded, but it just doesn't cut it for me. It's everything I dislike about Radiohead with none of the things I like about them. The entire album is so...gloomy. Ugh....Actual Rating 1.5.
Liked Songs: Bodysnatchers, House Of Cards, Jigsaw Falling Into Place (the best song by far)
Rufus Wainwright
2/5
Wow...."Want One" was SOOOOO much better. I was soooo excited for this album and I just feel like it fell flat. Ugh...I was so let down. There just really wasn't much here that I enjoyed. Actual Rating...a 1.5.
Liked Songs: The One You Love, The Art Teacher
Otis Redding
3/5
I liked this album. The horn line was sooooo good and I enjoy Otis Redding's voice. This album is a majority covers, which is always fun to see someone's spin on songs, but I wish there was more original content here. Actual rating is a 3.5.
Liked Songs: "Ole Man Trouble" , "A Change Is Gonna Come" , "Down in the Valley" , "Shake" , "Wonderful World" , "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction"
Kanye West
4/5
I once again hate how good of an album this is for how bad of a person Kanye is. Ugh. The beats here are great and the mix of styles is soooo impressive. The production here is amazing. I normally hate skits too, but these were good. The School Spirit / Lil Jimmy Skits were pretty funny. I can't believe this a debut album. Pretty impressive. "Last Call" was such an ehhh way to end an album tho. Actual Rating is a 4.5.
Perfect Songs: "We Don't Care" , "All Falls Down" , "Never Let Me Down" , "The New Workout Plan" , and "Through The Wire"
Liked Songs: "Slow Jamz" , "Get Em High" , "I'll Fly Away" , "Spaceship" , and "Jesus Walks"
The Kinks
3/5
This album was fun. It came out a few months after "Revolver" and the Beatles influence is definitely there. "Party Line" VERY easily could have been a Beatles tune. Unfortunately I feel like the first half of the album doesn't sound as well as the back half/deluxe songs (Specifically from "Sunny Afternoon" to "Big Black Smoke"). "Dandy" wasn't good at all lol. "A House In the Country" is soooooo good tho. I am torn on this album because I feel the first half isnt GREAT, but then it keeps getting better the more you listen. I think I like earlier songs by "The Kinks" more overall. Actual rating 3.5
Liked Songs: "Party Line" , "Session Man" , "A House In the Country" , "Most Exclusive Residence for Sale" , "Little Miss Queen of Darkness" , "Sunny Afternoon" , "I'll Remember" , "I'm Not Like Everybody Else" , "Dead End Street" , "Big Black Smoke" , "Mr. Reporter"
Led Zeppelin
5/5
Remember when I said in my "Physical Graffiti" review that that wasn't Led Zeppelin's best album and I knew it got better? Well...here we are. A PERFECT album. There isn't a bad song here. "Black Dog" is a FANTASTIC way to start an album, I wish I could hear "Stairway to Heaven" for the first time...the solo absolutely fucks, "Rock and Roll" is soooo good, "Going to California" is so beautiful, "Misty Mountain Hop" is so fun, "Four Sticks" is great, and "When the Levee Breaks" is such a great closer. "The Battle of Evermore" isn't my favorite song, but it's still pretty good.
That being said...I'd like to tell a story: While I was waiting for the bus to go to high school my senior year, someone at my stop said they were going to pray for me for listening to "Stairway to Heaven." I was a sinner because "that isn't how you get into heaven and if I listened to that song I was going to go to hell." And I replied "it's Led Zeppelin man. Fuck off"
Liked Songs: All of them, but "The Battle of Evermore" is my least favorite
Queens of the Stone Age
2/5
Ehhhh....nothing really got my attention here at all. The vocals here never grabbed me and I found the guitar parts to be quite uninteresting. There were some songs here I "liked" but nothing here I really "loved." There are plenty of QOTSA songs that I enjoy, but none were here.
Liked Songs: "Avon" , "If Only" , "The Bronze"
Yes
4/5
This was the first Yes album I've ever listened to. I've heard the highlights before, but this is the first of their albums I've checked out. It was prog rock, but EXTREMELY digestible. I liked it. The beats were fun and the guitar parts grooved. "Five per Cent for Nothing" kinda sucked, but luckily it was only 38 seconds.
Liked Songs: "Roundabout" , "South Side of the Sky" , "Long Distance Runaround" , "The Fish (Schindleria Praemeturus)" , "Mood for a Day" , "America"
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
4/5
This album was fun. The vocal harmonies were pretty amazing and the guitar parts are so good. I really enjoyed this album. It has that "old time" feel to it. "Everybody I Love You" , "Carry On" , and "Our House" are AMAZING.
Liked Songs: "Everybody I Love You" , "Carry On" , "Our House" , "Teach Your Children" , "Almost Cut My Hair" , "Deja Vu" , and "Country Girl"
Gene Clark
3/5
This album gave me like country/folk album meets psychedelic rock? It was kinda fun. The beats were interesting and I don't think this album ever got stale. Im not sure how often I'd return to this album, but I enjoyed it. Actual Rating is a 3.5.
Liked Songs: "Life's Greatest Fool" , "Silver Raven" , "Strength Of Strings" , "From A Silver Phial" , "Some Misunderstanding"
The Dave Brubeck Quartet
3/5
Good jazz album. Hannah gets PTSD from "Blue Rondo à la Turk" because it's Expedia's hold music and they gave us issues with going to Denver. It's suchhhh a good song tho. My biggest complaint is this album really starts to blend together and starts to all sound the same. The only way I can really tell we've moved to a different song are the time signature changes lol
Liked Songs: "Blue Rondo à la Turk" , "Take Five" , "Three to Get Ready"
Emmylou Harris
4/5
I am not a country fan at all, but I loved this album. Emmylou Harris's voice is FANTASTIC. This album sounded great and had some very enjoyable songs. Her covers of "Coat of Many Colors" by Dolly Parton was awesome and made sense since both are country singers. Her covering "For No One" by THE BEATLES (One of my favorite Beatles songs at that) was awesome and such a shock
Liked Songs: "Bluebird Wine" , "Too Far Gone" , "Boulder to Birmingham" , "Bottle Let Me Down" , "Sleepless Nights" , "Coat of Many Colors" , "For No One"
OutKast
3/5
This was a solid hip hop album. I think it had a lot of good moments. I enjoyed it. Not my style to listen to consistently, but "Ms. Jackson" is a classic. I loved "B.O.B. - Bombs Over Baghdad."
Liked Songs: "Gasoline Dreams" , "So Fresh, So Clean" , "Ms. Jackson" , "B.O.B. - Bombs Over Baghdad" , "Humble Mumble" , "Red Velvet"
Björk
1/5
God this was a hard listen... The beats are fun and then Björk starts to sing..."There's More to Life Than This" was fine except for that weird part in the middle...wtf was that. This was tough. "Crying" also had some solid beats.
"Aeroplane" was actually horrible and why was "The Anchor Song" included? Fuckin terrible. I was waiting for this album to end.
I hate rating albums so low since "Dub Housing" but there was literally not a single song here that I added or marked to listen to again... I think "Violently Happy" was my "favorite" song? The beat was cool and the vocals weren't horrible. What was that intro tho?
Ice T
2/5
Disclaimer: I am normally not a huge fan of 90s rap, but I think this album has moments for sure. It's not my favorite rap album, but it's fine. Sampling the "Halloween" theme for "The Tower" was a twist I didn't see coming and "Body Count" was quite the surprise haha
Liked Songs: "New Jack Hustler (Nino's Theme)" , "O.G. Original Gangster" , "Fly By" , "Body Count", "Pulse of the Rhyme"
Elvis Presley
2/5
I am an Elvis fan, but not an Elvis album fan. I feel like he has soooo many albums so rarely do any have more than 1 hit on them (if they even have any). This album was fine.
Liked Songs: "Make Me Know it" , "I Will Be Home Again" , "Thrill of Your Love" , "Such a Night" , "It Feels So Right"
Lenny Kravitz
4/5
Was unfamiliar with Lenny's work outside of 1 or 2 hits, but the versatility and energy is soooo impressive. Part of it sounds like Prince. Some parts very grunge-y. The guitar parts are so cool and it flows effortlessly. Really enjoyed it. Actual is a 3.5
Liked Songs: "Sitting On Top Of The World" , "Let Love Rule" , "I Build This Garden For Us" , "Fear" , "Does Anybody Out There Even Care" , "Rosemary" , "Flower Child"
Marty Robbins
2/5
Its kinda fun. The songs start to sound the same to me. Its not really for me, but it was a fun listen and the stories painted were kinda fun lol. "Big Iron" and "El Paso" are classics. I think this is actually like a 2.5.
Liked Songs: "Big Iron" , "Utah Carol" , "The Strawberry Roan" , "El Paso" , "The Hanging Tree"
Depeche Mode
3/5
This album was entertaining. "Personal Jesus" was the only song off this album that I recognized. The production on this was solid. The vocal style is hard for me to get behind throughout and the album is a little too dark for my taste. Not sure how often I'd return to it.
Liked Songs: "Personal Jesus" , "Halo" , "Enjoy the Silence" , "Policy of Truth" , "Dangerous"
Taylor Swift
4/5
This album is really really good. It is hard not to compare it to folklore tho, which I will try not to do. I think there are a lot of great songs here, but some stay too stagnant for my liking (unlike folklore). "closure" may be Taylor Swift's worst song ever but "willow" may be one of my favorites and has one of the coolest guitar parts. Actual rating is a 3.5.
Liked Songs: "willow" , "champagne problems" , "gold rush" , " 'tis the damn season" , "no body, no crime (feat. HAIM)" , "dorothea" , "ivy" , "long story short" , "marjorie" , "right where you left me"
Cypress Hill
2/5
This album was odd. I really liked the beats and rhythms. I enjoyed this album. But there wasn't much here that stood out to me. I enjoyed the album, but outside of a couple songs, I don't think I would return to anything here. But the vibe of it was fun
Liked Songs: "Pigs" , "The Phuncky Feel One" , "Real Estate"
Ash
4/5
This is like the definition of garage rock to me. It is slightly grungy as well, which is a lot of fun. Is the singer especially talented? No. Are the guitar parts especially challenging? No. But the album works. It sounds very raw and I feel like this band would be fun to hear live. I loved this album probably more than I should have. Wow is "Girl from Mars" such a good track. I will be listening to this song on loop for the rest of my life. "Lose Control" is a FANTASTIC heavy and fast opening track.
Liked Songs: "Lose Control" , "Goldfinger" , "Girl from Mars" , "Gone the Dream" , "Kung Fu" , "Let It Flow" , "Innocent Smile" , "Darkside Lightside"
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
3/5
The production is absolutely top tier, and the vocals of Karen O are soooo impressive to listen to. I was VERY interested by this album's first 3 tracks that I got left with musical blue balls. The first 3 tracks are sooo sooo good. And while the rest of the album is fine, this album peaks VERY early. This album feels like 80s mixed with 00s. The beats were so much fun but it really left me wanting something more. The acoustic tracks were fun, but felt out of place.
Liked Songs: "Zero" , "Heads Will Roll" , "Soft Shock" , "Dull Life" , "Hysteric"
Van Halen
5/5
I mean....this is one of my favorite albums of all time and it is literally perfect. Coming in just over 35 minutes, there are no filler tracks here. The fact that this is a DEBUT album still blows my mind. What an introduction to Mr. Eddie Van Halen. From the fun guitar effects in "Atomic Punk" , to the barbershop quartet in "I'm the One" (which was soooo shocking the first time I heard it), to the crazy solos all throughout (shoutout "Eruption") , all the way to the perfect vocal harmonies by Michael Anthony in "Feel Your Love Tonight," this album has it all. Everyone in this band is soooo insanely talented and they are so locked in and tight the entire time. Hell, even David Lee Roth, while not greatest singer, has some great moments and even a sweet guitar part in "Ice Cream Man." His vocal style fits the band perfectly. While Sammy Hagar is the most talented singer the band will have, Diamond Dave just fits the vibe they are going for. This album has Hannah's favorite Van Halen song "I'm the One" and one of my top songs in "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love." The "Hey" chants at the end of it get me so excited every time. You can tell these guys were having SOOO much fun in the studio. I'd love to be a fly on the wall while this perfect album was being recorded.
Liked Songs: Uhhh the entire album
Barry Adamson
1/5
An album that is a soundtrack for a murder movie that isn't real? Dumb. Which just about sums up this album lol. I didn't get the story AT ALL and I understand that the titles of the songs tell the story but...I still don't get it. Props to Barry Adamson because he was able to use this towards a portfolio to later make soundtracks to real movies, but this is a dud. Half the songs just gave me anxiety because I had no idea what was going on, but it sounded tense **cough cough** "Auto Destruction" **cough cough**. I will never return to this lol. Some songs had MOMENTS, where the tracks were very jazzy, but....eh. "Everything Happens to Me" was a pretty beautiful track tho. I'll give this a 1.5 for its moments.
Liked Songs: "The Swinging Detective" was cool until the end, "Under Wraps" was good but never went ANYWHERE, and "Everything Happens to Me"
Stephen Stills
4/5
I had NO IDEA Stephen Stills was one of the members of "Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young." That is so cool. I really really liked this album. The solo in "Old Times Good Times" slaps. The electric guitar parts shock me, but fit so well. "Love the One You're With" is a CLASSIC. His voice is really enjoyable to listen to. The horn sections are tight too. This was a great listen. This album just feels like one right out of the 70s. Actual rating is a 4.25
Liked Songs: "Love the One You're With" , "Church (Pt. of Someone)" , "Old Times Good Times" , "Sit Yourself Down" , "Black Queen" , "Cherokee"
Bad Brains
2/5
I think this album is the very definition of a 2. It was a cool concept: reggae mixed with punk/grunge, but I couldn't get into the vocalist AT ALL. The solos ripped tho. There were some good moments, but overall I felt very eh on this album.
Liked Songs: "Intro" , "I Against I" , "Secret 77" , "Hired Gun" (LOVED this one)
Iggy Pop
5/5
This album is a masterpiece. 3 songs in I was like: "Man this feels like a Bowie album" and I was right. Bowie produced it and wrote most of the songs. And honestly, this may be my favorite thing Bowie has worked on. There are literally no misses here. It's soooo good. Iggy Pop definitely has a similar vibe to Bowie so this works so well. Maybe it's just a little heavier? The entire album sounds like my favorite Bowie songs.
LOVED Songs: Every one except for "Turn Blue"
5/5
Wham Bam Thank Ya Ma'am!!!
This is my favorite Bowie album. It's sooooo good and so much fun. The only song I don't absolutely LOVE is "Hang on to Yourself." "Five Years" is a fantastic opener. This album is a work of art from open to close. "Starman" , "Soul Love" , and "Ziggy Stardust" are perfect and "Suffragette City" is by far my FAVORITE Bowie song
Beastie Boys
3/5
This album was...fine. The hits for the Beastie Boys are sooooo good but the rest is fine. It definitely has its moments tho. The instrumental songs were very interesting and not something I thought I'd hear the Beastie Boys do. Actual...2.75

"I thought it was INTERESTING" - Tim Robinson
A bunch of songs like...telling stories is an interesting concept and sometimes it works but a LOT of times it does not. Which is a shame, because the beginning starts off soooo good. Sometimes the songs just drag and his voice is a little difficult to get into at times. The songs kinda start to sound similar too...
Liked Songs: "Papa Won't Leave You, Henry" , "Straight to You" , "When I First Came to Town" , "John Finn's Wife" , "Jack the Ripper"

Wow...this sucked ass. I have never checked how much was left in an album so much as I did for this album. The vocalist should never sing again. God he is ass. Also, WTF was "The Duchess"??? Whoever signed off on that song is a criminal... also the trumpet player sounds like he is struggling most of the album. Ugh. "Blues In Bob Minor" IS amazing tho. Actual...1.5.
Liked Songs: "Heaps Of Sheeps" , "Maryan" , "Free Will And Testament" , "Alien" , "Blues In Bob Minor'
Common
3/5
This album was very good! It was cool and laid back. Didn't really seem to do anything GROUND BREAKING for me, but I enjoyed it. All the features throughout were well done (especially Kanye's). The rappers voice is so SMOOTH and the female singer is really really good. Actual rating...3.5
Liked Songs: "Be (Intro)" , "Faithful" , "Testify" , "Love is..." , "Chi-City" , "The Food"
The Clash
3/5
It was fun for sure. The Clash's vocalist sometimes gets on my nerves lolol. He sounds the exact same on most songs lol. The rhythms are fun tho, all the songs are short with no fluff, and quite enjoyable.
Liked Songs: "Remote Control" , "I'm so Bored with the U.S.A." , "White Riot" , "Hate & War" , "London's Burning" , "Career Opportunities" , "Protex Blue"
Killing Joke
2/5
Meh...this album was boring. The singer's voice wasn't great. Some of the rhythms were fine, but nothing caught my interest. "Requiem" kinda sucked and is one of their most streamed songs. The album was fine overall but not something I'd return to.
Liked Songs: "Bloodsport" , "The Wait" , "Change"
Black Sabbath
5/5
Wow...I had never heard of this Black Sabbath album before, but it is sooooo good. "FX" was the only song I didn't love, but it's kinda like a short interlude (only 1.5 minutes). This album is heavy with some kick ass riffs "Supernaut", has some melodic peaceful parts "Changes", and just about everything else in between. Tony Iommi is sooo talented. I Ioved this. May be my favorite Sabbath album. Maybe a 4.75 because of "FX"
Liked Songs: The entire album minus "FX"
Orbital
2/5
The bleeps bleeped and the bloops blooped. Wow this was a long album. The songs go on for wayyyyy too long. There is some interesting stuff here but it feels like it never ends or goes ANYWHERE. "I Wish I Had Duck Feet" was a waste of time. It's a shame that the best song was the shortest song "Quality Seconds"....but maybe that's why it is so good. I'll give it some benefits for creativity. Actual rating...1.75
Liked Songs: "Forever" , "Crash and Carry" , "Kein Trink Wasser" , "Quality Seconds"
Louis Prima
4/5
I listened to the "Expanded Edition" of this album and it was so good. I love the vibe of this album and Louis Prima and all the singers are so talented. Even the instrumental songs were so much fun. This album was just a great listen. The lyrics are sometimes silly, but who cares haha. "Jump, Jive, An' Wail" is such a classic. David Lee Roth's version of "Just A Gigolo / I Ain't Got Nobody" is still soooo much better and over-the-top lol
Liked Songs: "Just A Gigolo / I Ain't Got Nobody" , "(Nothing's Too Good) For My Baby" , "Body And Soul" , "Oh, Marie" , "Basin Street Blues / When It's Sleepy Time Down South" , "Jump, Jive, An' Wail" , "Buona Sera" , "(I'll Be Glad When You're Dead) You Rascal You" , "Five Months, Two Weeks, Two Days" , "Banana Split For My Baby" , "Be Mine (Little Baby)"
Violent Femmes
3/5
This album is like the definition of a 3. The rhythms are great and super interesting, but man 90% of the time the singer's voice gets on my nerves. I liked the album overall tho, and "Blister in the Sun" is a CLASSIC. "Gone Daddy Gone" is sooooo good.
Liked Songs: "Blister In The Sun" , "Kiss Off" , "Add It Up" , "Prove My Love" , "Promise" , "Gone Daddy Gone" , "Ugly"

I LOVED this album. It was such a vibe. This was the first day of 2025 that was so nice and I was vibing with my windows down. Sooo fun. I liked literally every single song. "Road, River and Rail" was probably my least favorite, but this was a great album. It kinda all started to blend together and sound the same, which is why it misses a perfect 5, but I loved the vibes. Actual rating...4.5.

This album was fun. It was like if Glam Rock combined with punk. It was cool. The lyrics were nothing spectacular (at times silly..."Rendezvous With Anus") but the rhythms were a lot of fun and the solos were crazy. I enjoyed myself but this didn't really do anything special for me. Also..."Suffragette City" is one of, if not my absolute favorite, David Bowie song and this version was just not good...

Such a great and fun album. I love it. It's got some eh moments, but nothing "bad." Saw them live and they translate to a stage too. Such a fun performance and this album has a ton of those hits. I also LOVE how Hannah refers to "Sharp Dressed Man" as the "Duck Dynasty Theme Song" which it IS lol. The first 3 songs of this album go SO HARD and "Legs" is top tier.
Liked Songs: "Gimme All Your Lovin' " , "Got Me Under Pressure" , "Sharp Dressed Man" , "I Got the Six" , "Legs" , "Dirty Dog" , "Bad Girl"
Bob Dylan
3/5
Okay I know I totally shat on the last Bob Dylan album, but this album was VERY enjoyable. I still don't think Bob Dylan is a great vocalist, but this album works overall. The songwriting is great and it is so fun. Most of this album being about his relationship with his estranged wife, Sara, is so impactful and you can tell in his voice. I'm gonna give it a 3 rounded down but it is actually a 3.5.
Liked Songs: "Tangled up in Blue" , "Simple Twist of Fate" , "Idiot Wind' , "If You See Her, Say Hello" , "Shelter from the Storm"
Nirvana
4/5
Such a great album. Raw...yet very well produced. This is obviously the 2nd best Nirvana album (I wonder which is #1 lol) but this album was a part of my constant rotation in high school. I love it. I'm gonna try to remove some bias here, because it ISN'T a perfect album. Specifically the singing in "Tourette's"....oof. (the guitar parts fuck tho). However "Heart-Shaped Box" is a perfect piece of music, "Dumb" is such a meaningful song and you can tell it means a lot to Kirk, and obviously "All Apologies" is a fantastic song. 99% of the time Kirk crushes his lyricism too. I understand if his voice isn't for you, but the lyrics are great. I LOVE "Very Ape" and "Pennyroyal Tea" as well and the crunchy-ness of the first chord in "Serve The Servants." (And that whole song). The solos throughout are also severely underrated. Simple. But underrated. 4 stars
Liked Songs: "Serve The Servants" , "Heart-Shaped Box" , "Rape Me" , "Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle" , "Dumb" , "Very Ape" , "Pennyroyal Tea" , "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" , "All Apologies"

Wow. I am not a U2 fan, but this album is all it's cracked up to be. It was so good. The guitar parts are so ethereal and the whole album is produced so well. This was a fantastic listen. The three song opener is perfect. Wow. The end of this album felt weak which is why it misses the mark on a perfect 5, but it was great.
Liked Songs: "Where The Streets Have No Name" , "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" , "With Or Without You" , "Bullet The Blue Sky" , "Red Hill Mining Town" , "In God's Country" , "Trip Through Your Wires"
The Temptations
3/5
This album feels very like the 70s (came out in '69...nice) - funky bass lines, crunchy guitar, soulful singing - lots of songs that are fun to vibe to. Unfortunately other than that, this album doesn't do a whole lot for me. I enjoyed it. But it felt...fine. Actually 2.75 out of 5
Liked songs: "Cloud Nine" , "Runaway Child, Running Wild" , "Hey Girl" , "Don't Let Him Take Your Love From Me" , "I Gotta Find A Way (To Get You Back)"

I don't get it...this album is sooo gloomy and depressing. ALSO, please...for the love of God sing in tune...ugh. he's a horrendous vocalist. Not good. The album is not unbearable, but bleh. The bass lines are cool, but this is just bad. Similar to Depeche Mode but wayyyyyyy worse. Play something not slow PLEASE. It has moments tho so I'll be nice and give it a 2. Actual rating....1.5.
Liked Songs: "Disorder" , "She's Lost Control" , "Shadowplay" , "Interzone"

This gets credit for being the first rock Opera but other than that, this is pretty okay. The story they tell is SOOOO dumb and pointless. You are lying if you say you understood some of the plot points. "Pinball Wizard" and "Sally Simpson" obv score points here and the concept of "Overture" was so cool and well done. I do enjoy the vocals a lot. Actual review...2.5
Liked Songs: "Overture" , "1921" , "Sparks" , "Eyesight To The Blind (The Hawker)" , "Pinball Wizard" , "Go To The Mirror!" , "Tommy Can You Hear Me?" , "Sally Simpson"

Ugh I have absolutely no idea how to rate this. The instrumentals are AMAZING. Also, HOT TAKE... I don't think Fred Durst is THAT bad of a vocalist. He just can't sing pretty. However, the lyrics are TERRIBLE and so fucking dumb and sometimes it sounds like he just does not give a fuck. Actual rating...3.5

I have learned through this project, that I strongly dislike this style of music. The vocals are soooo bad and the instrumentals are boring. "Tainted Love" is soooo good but other than that this is average at best.
Liked Songs: "Frustration" , "Tainted Love" , "Sex Dwarf" , "Chips On My Shoulder" , "Secret Life" , "What?"
Billy Joel
5/5
Wow...what an album. It's a no skipper for sure. From Billy's talented piano playing, to the perfect singing, to the amazing band behind him...this album is perfect. The reoccurring "Stranger" motif that gets played again to close the album...chills. You can tell this album meant a lot to Billy and is deep for him. I'm really trying to remove my bias as this is the first album I've ever owned on vinyl, but yeah...simply perfect.
Liked Songs: The entire album
The Smiths
3/5
This was significantly better than the last "Smiths" album we listened to, but God...could this singer please sing in tune. I'd love to hear this band with a different vocalist because the instrumentals are sooooo fantastic and interesting. Like the other album tho, the beginning was strong and then it got mid. Most songs I liked everything but the vocals
Liked Songs: "The Headmaster Ritual" , "Rusholme Ruffians" , "What She Said"
Count Basie & His Orchestra
4/5
This album was great. Really made me imagine I was back in time. Simple yet beautiful. It sounded like the 50s which was fun. I think sometimes it starts to sound a little repetitive, but it wasn't boring at all. Truly a great listen and my favorite jazz album so far. Count Basie is a legend and deserves all the credit he gets. Actual rating...3.5
Liked Songs: "The Kid from Red Bank" , "Flight of the Foo Birds" , "Double-O" , "Whirly-Bird" , "Fantail"
Led Zeppelin
4/5
This is a fantastic debut album. It isn't their best (Led Zeppelin IV and Physical Graffiti definitely beat it out), however, most groups wish they could put out an album this good. There are so many classics here and "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" is one of my favorite acoustic pieces in all of rock. It has some "fine" tracks, but this is a great listen.
Liked Songs: "Good Times Bad Times" , "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" , "Dazed and Confused" , "Your Time is Gonna Come" , "Communication Breakdown"

2/5
I listened to the Deluxe version to get all the songs and because everyone recommends it and....Meh. This was a fun jazz album by "Chef" (I can't believe this is the same guy who voices that South Park character) but this album just sounds like hotel lobby/elevator music. Most of the songs never go anywhere or develop. There are fun songs and good ideas here, just too long and boring at times. Maybe this would be better if I saw the movie.
Liked Songs: "Cafe Regio" , "Ellie's Love Theme" , "Shaft's Cab Ride" , "Early Sunday Morning" , "Soulsville" , "No Name Bar"
Brian Eno
1/5
Wow this was terrible. Just because two influential people work on something together doesn't make it good, interesting, or anything. This sucks. It's boring yet hurt my head and was mentally exhausting to listen to. I will be listening to nothing here ever again. "Solo Guitar With Tin Foil" and "Number 8 Mix" were the only "fine" things here....David Byrne should stick to "Talking Heads"
Beatles
5/5
This is tough. This is my 5th favorite Beatles album so I am tempted to give this a 4, but it has soooo many influential songs and hits for the Beatles. I wish this site had a .5 system! This album was really the start of their sophisticated song writing and when they really rose to the next level! They had major hits before this, but this album just feels way more mature. Additionally, this is the first Beatles album they wrote AS AN ALBUM rather than just a collection of singles thrown together which is why this album starts to feel more cohesive. Additionally, they recorded this album in only 113 hours of studio time which is incredibly fast. Considering Revolver took over 300 hours and Sgt. Pepper's took over 700 hours. This album needed to be done "in time for the Christmas market."
"Drive My Car" is such a banger, "Nowhere Man" is FANTASTIC, "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)" and "In My Life" are such beautiful pieces of music, "Michele" and "Girl" are such great songs that have an eerie feel to them, and "What Goes On" and "I'm Looking Through You" are soooo much fun.
Liked Songs: Every song...although "The Word" is the weakest.
Amy Winehouse
3/5
This album was solid. Amy Winehouse is soooo talented and died wayyy too soon. Her debut album, everyone says isn't as polished as her later work, so I'd love to check out some other stuff by her. It obviously isn't something I normally listen to, but it was great and is probably my favorite jazz album so far. "What Is It About Men" was soooo catchy. Actual Rating...3.5.
Liked Songs: "You Sent Me Flying / Cherry" , "I Heard Love Is Blind" , "Moody's Mood For Love / Teo Licks" , "(There Is) No Greater Love" , "In My Bed" , "What Is It About Men" , "Mr Magic (Through The Smoke)"

1/5
An album that is "influential but not actually entertaining to listen to." Wow this was bad....and I normally love punk/grunge. Pat Smear is a legend and so influential (played for a bit in Nirvana and the Foo Fighters) but this was pretty terrible. Not a lot here to compliment but sometimes the guitar riffs are fun. The singing is terrible.
"Liked" songs: "What We Do Is Secret" , "Strange Notes" , "Our Way"
The Cramps
2/5
It's not bad....but it isn't great. Every song kinda sounds like the last. I understand what they mean by this being "gothabilly" as a genre. The vocalist kinda starts to get on my nerves after a while...the guitars are interesting but very repetitive. Actually a 2.5.
Liked Songs: "Rock On The Moon" , "Garbageman" , "Sunglasses After Dark" , "Zombie Dance" , "Tear It Up" , "Twist And Shout"
Jeff Beck
3/5
This was a fun listen. His version of "Greensleeves" was cool. I liked it a lot. The album didn't absolutely blow my mind...but I definitely enjoyed it. I get why people regard Jeff Beck so highly now. I enjoyed the singing a lot too. I'd say it's probably a 3.5.
Liked Songs: "Shapes of Things" , "Morning Dew" , "Greensleeves" , "Rock My Plimsoul" , "Beck's Bolero"
The Smiths

I am not sure how many more "The Smiths" albums I can physically listen to. Please please please get a new singer. This has good moments and is better than the first Smiths album we listened to, but ugh. The musicians are really talented and just brought down by vocals. "Frankly, Mr. Shankley" was fun tho. Actual rating....2.5.
Liked Songs: "Frankly, Mr. Shankley" , "I Know It's Over" , "Bigmouth Strikes Again" , "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others"

I found most of this album somewhat difficult to listen to. I kept checking how much time was left on it. It just isn't my style and those vocals are unbearable. There are some fine moments but overall, ugh. The instrumentals are pretty great tho, so I will round up to a 2. Actual rating....1.5.
Liked Songs: "I Love Your Lovin' Ways" , "Why Keep On Breaking My Heart" , "Either Way I Lose"
David Bowie
4/5
Can't go wrong with this era Bowie. Props to him for covering two of my favorite Beatles moments: "Across the Universe" is a great cover of a Beatles song (even if the original is better) and during "Young Americans" he says "I heard the news today, oh boy" which is a tribute to "A Day In The Life" (one of my favorite Beatles songs). This is a fantastic album. So many fun moments. Solid 4 for sure. The instrumentals are so great and this is a top tier Bowie album. "Fame" is legendary.
Fun Fact: John Lennon co-wrote "Fame" with Bowie. Additionally, Lennon played guitar and sang back-up vocals on "Across the Universe." Ironically, Lennon said he liked Bowie's version more and said it was "great because I'd never done a good version of that song myself. It's one of my favorite songs, but I didn't like my version of it." Note: Lennon famously was egotistical and never gave compliments, so this is high praise.
Liked Songs: "Young Americans" , "Right" , "Somebody up There Likes Me" , "Across the Universe" , "Can You Hear Me" , "Fame"

This was pretty fantastic. The guitar tones and riffs were awesome. APPARENTLY this is an unpopular opinion, but I loved the flute. I had heard "Aqualung" (the song) before and kinda hated it, but I have had a change of heart now. It is soooo good. This album is pretty consistent and great. Also, their vocalist is fantastic. I love the more laid back "acoustic" songs. This album is so versatile. Actual...4.5

Radiohead
2/5
Can we start to have the conversation that outside of the hits and some one-offs....Radiohead is kinda overrated. I don't know...they just don't do it for me. All their songs start to sound the same...monotone and depressing. They have some hits and great songs, but I'm not impressed so far. This album def has moments, but their guitars are kinda boring and their vocals just make me sad....When they DO decide to pick up the pace and be energetic (which they do a few times this album) they are really enjoyable to listen to.
Liked Songs: "2+2=5" , "Go To Sleep" , "Where I End and You Begin" , "There, There" , "Myxomatosis" , "A Wolf At the Door"
Peter Gabriel
3/5
It sounds (mixed & mastered) great, and half of the songs are excellent, but the remainder are totally blehhhh. This album honestly is fine, just a little too experimental for me. Peter Gabriel is a great vocalist but some of these songs REALLY lose me aka "Intruder" and "Biko." Actual rating...2.75
Liked Songs: "No Self Control" , "I Don't Remember" , "Family Snapshot" , "And Through The Wire" , "Not One Of Us"
Jane's Addiction
3/5
This album was good. The solos and guitar tones were really interesting. Overall I think this album was fine, but nothing insanely impressive or ground breaking here for me. However, the bass is a highlight for me. Super interesting bass lines. "Mountain Song" is obviously the highlight
Liked Songs: "Had a Dad" , "Standing in the Shower...Thinking" , "Summertime Rolls" , "Mountain Song" , "Idiots Rule" , "Pigs in Zen"

This was really good. I don't know a bit of French, so I feel like that may have hindered my enjoyment, but wow was it fun. The beats were great and flowed well although sometimes it did start to feel repetitive. Im not sure how often I would return to this, but it was enjoyable. Actual Rating....3.5

Queen
3/5
This was NOT your typical Queen album imo. Had "prog rock" vibes. Story telling and very "mythical." It was interesting. One complaint I had (and this is shocking coming from me) but the guitar was sometimes too "hot" when it came in and overpowered the vocals especially. Freddie crushes and this is a fun concept. It definitely isn't my favorite Queen album, but it was fun. Side note: Freddie singing about an ogre battle is objectively funny. Actual rating...3.5.
Liked Songs: "Father To Son" , "Some Day One Day" , "The Loser In The End" , "Ogre Battle" , "The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke" , "Funny How Love Is" , "Seven Seas Of Rhye"

This was...fine. it was super diverse which was cool. The singer's voice got on my nerves a few times (primarily in "I Shall Be Released") This wasn't bad, but not something I probably return to. Not terrible tho. Actual rating is a 2.5.
Liked Songs: "Tears Of Rage" , "To Kingdom Come" , "Caledonia Mission" , "Chest Fever"
Brian Eno
2/5
This album was a little too avant-garde for me. Not great. What the fuck was "Driving Me Backwards?" I could have gone my whole life without that one. Definitely didn't love it, but this had moments ("Needles In The Camel's Eye") which makes it a 2 instead of a 1. I just am not a Brian Eno fan apparently
Liked Songs: "Needles In The Camel's Eye" , "Cindy Tells Me" , "On Some Faraway Beach"
Green Day
5/5
What. An. Album....A concept album that actually successfully tells a story. I am not sure if I would agree with rock "opera" but it is fantastic. I have never seen the musical, but I'm sure it is also fantastic. Super political and just overall so entertaining. A story about growing up, maturity, and "coming of age."
From "Jesus of Suburbia" to "American Idiot" , to "Holiday" and "St. Jimmy" , this album is FILLED with hits and great tracks. I think "Letterbomb" is the climax as they make references to every song and it is SO fun. HOWEVER, "Whatshername" is probably my most underrated track on the album. Finally, every bonus track is SOOOO good (although "Governator" is kinda weak. "Too Much Too Soon" is a top tier song.)
The solos are fun, the message is great, riffs are basic (it's punk) but solid, and if you don't like Billie Joe Armstrong's vocals...I don't get it. The ballads ("Wake Me Up When September Ends" and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams") are probably my least favorites on the album, but still so good!
Liked Songs: The whole album
The Rolling Stones
2/5
I mean it’s The Rolling Stones so of course they’re influential but this is not their best work (the best is yet to come). The songs were just incredibly repetitive. I don't understand the Beatles rivalry...it isn't close imo. This isn't bad. The vocal style is fun at times and the instrumentals are cool. Sometimes Mick Jagger's voice gets on my nerves tho. The instrumental in "Mother's Little Helper" is really cool.
Liked Songs: "Mother's Little Helper" , "Under My Thumb" , "Flight 505" , "It's Not Easy" , "Think" , "What To Do"

This is a GREAT album. Rock and pop/rap combined. This is so fun. So many highlights. It's LONG for sure (40 songs; 2 hours and 15 minutes) , but it doesn't feel long and it doesn't get boring. Great job. The hooks are soooooo catchy. The back half of CD2 doesn't have my favorite songs, but it's still entertaining. "My Favorite Things" cover is GREAT and "Hey Ya!" is a classic.
Liked Songs: "GhettoMusik" ,"Bowtie" , "The Way You Move" , "The Rooster" , "Tomb of the Boom" , "Knowing" , "Last Call" , "The Love Below (Intro)" , "Love Hater" , "Happy Valentine's Day" , "Hey Ya!" , "Roses" , "My Favorite Things" , "Take Off Your Cool"
Red Hot Chili Peppers
3/5
This was a fun one for sure. Soooo many hits ("Californication" , "Around the World" , and "Otherside" obviously). A RHCP album is going to be bass heavy and Flea doesn't disappoint. I think the rap style singing starts to get old throughout the 1 hour and 7 minute long play, but it isn't bad. The instrumentals are soooo talented (everyone in this band is). Lots of lyrics about resistance and freedom. "Road Trippin' " was a shocking song and sooooo nice. I want to learn it on guitar now. So many fun tracks but "I Like Dirt" annoyed me until the solo. Actually a 3.5.
Liked Songs: "Around the World" , "Parallel Universe" , "Scar Tissue" , "Otherside" , "Californication" , "Easily" , "Porcelain" , "Emit Remmus" , "This Velvet Glove" , "Savior" , "Road Trippin' " , "Fat Dance" , "Quixoticelixer"

HOLY SHIT! The only song I knew coming into this album was "Alright" and that song is unlike most of this album. "I'd Like To Know" caught me soooo off guard. This may be my favorite album I have discovered while doing this 1001 albums adventure. I am now 4 albums behind because I can't stop listening to this. It's a 90s album with 90s style instrumentals, but their vocalists are very 70s to me. I love this album so much. I WILL be listening to more once I get this out of my system (esp because everyone thinks this isn't their best yet.) What a debut. The first 4 songs are PERFECT and "Sitting Up Straight" is SO good. I also love how in "Mansize Rooster" they keep tricking you into where the end of the song will be. The vocals are amazing, the solos fuck, the riffs are great, the rhythm section is TIGHT, and the album is so diverse. I love it!
Liked Songs: The entire album except for "Time To Go" although that song is fun too
Neil Young
2/5
This was fine. A little too "laid back" for me. Neil Young's voice to me is often wavering and is almost whiny in this album (he has some songs that counter this that are not on this record.) It isn't bad. I just found myself bored at times. The instrumentals are solid. Nothing flashy, but not bad. "Walk On" was the best track.
Liked Songs: "Walk On" , "Revolution Blues" , "Motion Pictures (For Carrie)"

I really enjoyed this. It was a lot of fun. "Thirteen" was absolutely beautiful. Also hearing "In The Street" (from That 70s Show) was crazy. It was missing something to really push it to the "next level" but this was a solid 3.5 listen. "Watch The Sunrise" was SOOOO cool. Adding it to my list of songs to learn.

The guitar tones, style, and even recording mix are WAYYY ahead of its time here for 1967. For that, this album gains major props. This is a really enjoyable psychedelic album, but is just not my favorite. I feel like it is very anti- what I should be saying as a guitarist, but there are so many other guitar players I'd rather listen to. The album is still GREAT, but I just needed to make that comment. The improvisation on this album is awesome. HOWEVER, what the fuck was the point of "Exp"...

There are some BANGERS here. This isn't my absolute favorite style of music but this is pretty good. "Time to Pretend" I had no idea was by them. "Of Moons, Birds & Monsters" impressed me thoroughly. I think this is a solid 3 album.
Liked Songs: "Time to Pretend" , "The Youth" , "Electric Feel" , "Kids" , "Of Moons, Birds & Monsters"

2/5
This was fine. Not something I would normally go for. The guitar playing was good but I feel like the songs never really went anywhere. His voice at times got on my nerves but other times were good. I think like the instrumentals all sounded solid and then it was like...okay now what.
Liked Songs: "Strolling Down the Highway" , "Smokey River" , "Oh How Your Love Is Strong" , "Needle of Death" , "Running from Home"

This was solid rock. It was a little "dark" for me at times. A little grim if that makes sense. Not bad tho. There are some solid tracks here. I LOVE the guitar tone. The vocalist tends to drone on and on tho.
Liked Songs: "Deep One Perfect Morning" , "Happy When it Rains" , "Down on Me" , "April Skies" , "Fall" , "On The Wall"
Skunk Anansie

This wasn't bad. Absolutely not my favorite rock/metal album. It didn't feel heavy enough for metal but too hard for rock. It was neat. There was nothing to headbang and really no "hooks" tho. I really enjoyed her voice.
Liked Songs: "Charlie Big Potato" , "The Skank Heads" , "Lately" , "I'm Not Afraid"

This album is sooo upbeat and happy. I loved it. My knowledge of The Go-Go's was very limited but this is so fun. The bassist and drummer are both FANTASTIC. Blew me away. "You Can't Walk In Your Sleep (If You Can't Sleep)" kept making me think of "Walk Like an Egyptian" lolol. "Our Lips Are Sealed" and "We Got The Beat" are huge hits I loved. Actual 3.5.

This was fine. I'd say overall pretty enjoyable. Nothing really "blew me away" here, but she is a really good singer. I don't think her voice every annoyed me like some people say, but this album was definitely repetitive. "Once It Was Alright Now (Farmer Joe)" is soooo good tho
Liked Songs: "Luckie" , "Lu" , "Eli's Comin' " , "Emmie" , "Once It Was Alright Now (Farmer Joe)" , "The Confession"

This wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. There are great foundations of songs here, but they felt very stagnant for much of them. Like....please develop into something. Some of the songs sounded more like soundscapes than anything.

What the hell was that opening to this album....all that screaming in "Skunk." It is a shame that some really interesting guitar riffs and Instrumentals were wasted on vocals that I feel at times were weird just for "shock value." This wasn't great. I'm gonna round it up to a 2 for instrumentals but some songs were REALLY bad. I'm looking at you "Fuck Shit Up." This album was also LONGGGG. Too long to be this bad. Actual....1.5

"Ah, it's time to relax" hahaha... what a great album. The riffs are great, vocals are fun, the narration is funny, the secret song is soooo cool, and so many of these songs I was BLASTING in high school. I think this album could benefit from maybe more variety, but overall....sooo good. "Come Out and Play" and "Self Esteem" are ICONIC.

This album is a solid 2.5. Right down the middle. It was good and the story is fun, but no songs really stand out to me. It was background noise for most of it. Insanely talented piano work tho. Actual review....2.5.
Liked songs: The album was solid
Frank Sinatra
3/5
Fun album. This album ALSO at times felt a bit like background music, but it wasn't bad. Sinatra does have a smoooooth way of singing. Some of these songs/lyrics are sooo sleazy tho. Like the one where he is trying to dance with and (probably fuck) a girl who is clearly in love with (and possibly married to) another man. Idk lolol. Its good but just doesn't really peak like I know many Sinatra hits do
Liked Songs: "The Girl From Ipanema" , "Change Partners" , "If You Never Come To Me (Inútil Paisagen)" , "Baubles, Bangles And Beads"
Paul Simon
3/5
This is a solid album. Def not the best Paul Simon album, but this was good. There were some silly lyrics here and at times lazy (I'm looking at YOU "Cars Are Cars.") Also I feel like "oohs" and "aahs" sometimes get used as filler. "Allergies" SLAPS. It was a fun listen. Most likely an actual 3.5. The guitar solos here were surprisingly GOOD.
Liked Songs: "Allergies" , "When Numbers Get Serious" , "Song About the Moon" , "Train in the Distance" (both the regular AND acoustic demo), " The Late Great Johnny Ace"

I feel like this was fine, but a little too "dark" for me. Its all the vocalist. The rhythms and Instrumentals are fun. I can't explain it but it did feel pretty repetitive. Like the songs had one idea that they just did for like 2.5 - 4 minutes. Idk...I can't explain it. This is a strong 2.5. "Do It Clean" was FUN tho. This album overall is just....average
Liked Songs: "Do It Clean" , "Monkeys" , "Crocodiles" , "Rescue" , "Villiers Terrace"
John Coltrane
2/5
I know this is criminal to say as John Coltrane is one of those legends, but this was meh. It REALLY felt like elevator music. Just because you can play really fast and get those squeals doesn't make you a good songwriter. If you were to tell me all 4 songs were one song, I'd believe you. Please do something else.
Liked Songs: "A Love Supreme, Pt. II - Resolution"
Nas
2/5
This album was fine. I'm not really a fan of like groove rap for an entire album. Slow and vibes. It wasn't bad, and I didn't HATE it, but this isn't a rap album I'd reach for regularly. "N.Y. State of Mind" was solid tho and "The World Is Yours" put me back in my childhood room playing NBA 2K13 (I thought it was on Madden too, but after a quick Google search I guess I was wrong lol). Maybe a 2.25
Liked Songs: "N.Y. State of Mind" , "The World Is Yours" , "Memory Lane (Sittin' in da Park)" , "Represent"

These beats feel oddly out of time and I do NOT like the rapper's voice. I liked the girl's voice until "Get Out of My House" tho. These beats and lyrics feel like ones you would make in middle school in like garage band. Like... "why did I have to go and do a stupid thing like that? I'm such a twat" lolol SMH. "Fit but You Know It" was kinda great tho. "Dry Your Eyes" had some moments for sure. Actual rating...a 1.5.
Liked Songs: "Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way" , "Fit but You Know It" , "Dry Your Eyes"

I thought I'd like this way more than I did. This is a far ways away from "Whip It". I had heard "Uncontrollable Urge" before and thought that was fun, but I'm not so sure about this. I guess I'm just not a Brian Eno/new wave fan. This was a little too experimental and out there for me. What the fuck was "Too Much Paranoias"??? "Space Junk" was a lotta fun tho. Also, their version of "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" was NOT good lolol. Actual rating 1.5.
Liked Songs: "Uncontrollable Urge" , "Praying Hands" , "Space Junk" , "Gut Feeling / (Slap Your Mammy)"

This was a lotta fun. The harmonies are so good. This album feels SUPER 90s even though it came into in '01. I enjoyed it. All 3 vocalists are soooo talented and fit in perfectly and the beats are so great. Also this album feels fresh. Like it never gets stale. Actual 3.75.
Liked Songs: "Independent Woman, Pt. 1" , "Survivor" , "Nasty Girl" , "Independent Woman Pt. II" , "Dangerously In Love" , "Brown Eyes" , "The Story Of Beauty"
Bob Dylan
4/5
This album made me understand the hype of Dylan. This was really fun. It had like a rock feel to it and a lot of classic Dylan songs. I understand why this album is considered one of the best. This is an easy 3.5, but probably rounded up to a 4. I think since the band's sound is "bigger", Dylan feels less exposed and the singing sounds better and fits. "Desolation Row" was REALY good but WAYYY too long. Dylan still isn't a good singer, but this works well! The songwriting is GREAT too!
Liked Songs: "Like a Rolling Stone" , "Tombstone Blues" , "It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry" , "From a Buick 6" , "Queen Jane Approximately" , "Highway 61 Revisted"
Bruce Springsteen
1/5
This was not good. This was boring and this enforced the fact that Bruce Springsteen is NOT a good vocalist. He can hold a tune when the band is playing loud and in a rock style, but in an acoustic setting, he doesn't work well. I think some of the songwriting here is clever and the lyrics are REALLY good and well done, but overall this isn't great. "Johnny 99" is a great song tho. So fun. Actual rating...1.5.
Liked Songs: "Atlantic City" , "Johnny 99" , "Used Cars" , "Open All Night"

This is a solid 3. It is good. There are good moments. "Detroit Rock City" is one of my favorites, but there are some duds here and sometimes it is just...fine. I don't understand why some people regard this album as one of the best rock albums. Its fine. "Great Expectations" is TERRIBLE
Liked Songs: "Detroit Rock City" , "King Of The Night Time World" , "Shout It Out Loud" , "Beth" , "Do You Love Me"

Wow there are some BANGERS here. This album is sooo fun. "Travelin' Band" is TOP TIER. And there are obv some classics here as well. I can understand how John Fogerty's voice wouldn't be for everyone, but I love him and think it fits together so well.
Liked Songs: "Travelin' Band" , "Ooby Dooby" , "Lookin' Out My Back Door" , "Run Through The Jungle" , "Up Around The Bend" , "My Baby Left Me" , "Who'll Stop The Rain" , "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" , "Long As I Can See The Light"
My Bloody Valentine
2/5
This isn't great. It was REALLY dark (borderline creepy) and poorly mixed. At times I couldn't figure out what part of the song I was supposed to be listening to *cough* *cough* "feed me with your kiss" *cough* *cough*. This was not great. The guitar and drums were really good tho. I love the drumming here. There were some good songs here which raises it up a little. Good moments for sure.
Liked Songs "Cupid Come" , "(when you wake) you're still in a dream" , "sueisfine" , "you never should" , "nothing much to lose"
Frank Ocean
2/5
This was fine. I like Frank Ocean's voice and the beats are fun but sometimes it drones on and on and I wish the songs would GO somewhere. Hes a really good singer and producer, but I'd just like the songs to do something new. Actual rating...2.5

The Stranglers
4/5
Wow does this band know how to write a hook. So so good and such a fun listen. The solos ROCK too (from all instruments)! This album starts off great and keeps going. This kinda reminded me of a better version of Talking Heads. Good stuff. Id give it a 3.75 rounded up to a 4 as it did start to feel repetitive. Great listen!
Liked Songs: "Sometimes" , "London Lady" , "Princess of the Streets" , "Peaches" , "Ugly" , "Down in the Sewer (Medley)" , "Go Buddy Go"

How many songs can you have that sound like you are watching a live sporting event? Hell even "Green Onions" is like THE song while you need to watch the shuffle on the big screen. Also there are minimal differences between that song and "Mo' Onions". We love a motif, but c'mon...This album was not bad per say, but it all kinda started to sound the same to me. "Twist and Shout" was fun and that song always makes me smile, but give me The Beatles.
Liked Songs: "Green Onions" , "I Got a Woman" , "Twist and Shout" , "Behave Yourself" , "You Can't Sit Down"
The Beach Boys
4/5
How can you not at least LIKE this. It is such comfort music. What do you hate? Perfect harmonies and fun rhythms?? Wtf...my high school band director HATED the Beach Boys and I don't get it. RIP Brian Wilson. I get it...it is super repetitive and simple, but it is so fun. "Help Me, Rhonda" is an absolute classic and "Do You Wanna Dance?" is soooo good. I love this! Solid 3.5

This album was so good. I had no idea it was a cover album of pop tunes. Willie's voice is sooooo smooth. It is so good. The guitars, harmonicas, pianos are all so peaceful and calming. This was such a great listen. "On the Sunny Side of the Street" is sooo catchy. Loved it! Hannah loved "Someone to Watch Over Me"
Liked Songs: "Georgia On My Mind" , "Blue Skies" , "All of Me" , "Unchained Melody" , "On the Sunny Side of the Street" , "Moonlight in Vermont" , "Someone to Watch Over Me"

Funny that the album immediately after the Willie Nelson cover album ALSO has a cover of "On The Sunny Side Of The Street" which I liked AGAIN. The organ playing was fine. I think stadiums have just ruined organs for me lol. My complaint with almost all jazz albums is true again here....get to the point. These songs are too long. The music is good and the sax player was AWESOME, but this tended to get old. The content was solid. I just would rather more and shorter songs.
Liked Songs: "Minor Chant" , "Messy Bessie" , "On The Sunny Side Of The Street"

It is like if rap and rock had a baby. Very similar to the Beastie Boys. This is a lot of fun. "Raising Hell" is great! Some head bobbing beats and some rocking songs as well! A solid listen. An actual rating of a 3.5.

Listened to the full ~2 hour version on Youtube and I kinda regret it. This is a classic example of just because you are talented doesn't mean your music is good. This sounds difficult and complex, but was not a good listen....ugh. There is no melody here ever, barely any words, nothing to hum along to...nothing. It kinda just hurts my head to listen to. There are moments (like the end. The wrap up is really song) but overall this just feels like noise. I won't be returning to this album again. I almost NEVER wanna listen to 15-20 minute songs. They lose me. I didn't really "like" any of the songs, but these were the best ones....
Liked Songs: "Slightly All the Time" and "Moon in June"
Mott The Hoople
4/5
This album is soooo good. It kinda gives me Bowie vibes. Fun and upbeat. I love the style, vocals, guitars, the whole band. I had heard of them before, but never checked them out. Sometimes it does tend to get repetitive, but if you love the style, you'll love the album! "All the Way from Memphis" , "Honaloochie Boogie" and "Drivin' Sister" are all sooooo catchy.
Liked Songs: "All the Way from Memphis" , "Whizz Kid" , "Hymn for the Dudes" , "Honaloochie Boogie" , "Drivin' Sister" , "Ballad of Mott The Hoople" , "I'm a Cadillac / El Camino Dolo Roso" , "I Wish I Was Your Mother" , "Nightmare"
Bob Marley & The Wailers

Not bad. Reggae is fun, but definitely gets old after a while. It is definitely a summer vibe. I love the vocals all around on this album. Bob is great as are the backing vocals. This album is perfectly fine...2.5 maybe 2.75. Hot take: "No Woman No Cry" is kinda boring.
Liked Songs: "Lively Up Yourself" , "Them Belly Full (But We Hungry)" , "So Ja S'eh" , "Bend Down Low" , "Talkin' Blues" , "Revolution"

This album is very 80s. Gives me Bruce Springsteen vibes. Maybe a little Bob Dylan? Idk. I like it a lot. Its fun. Rock but also dreamy. The solos were cool, vocals were great, and I could listen to this on loop. Actual rating...3.5.

This is REALLLYYYYY LONG. "I thought it was INTERESTING" - Tim Robinson. Some of the songs go on wayyyyy too long. There are some interesting things here, but not something I would listen to regularly. One question...is this really tango??? Idk. It didn't feel like it.
Liked Songs: "Vibraphonissimo" , "Nuevo Tango" , "La Muerta Del Angel"

This album fucks. It is soooo groovy and catchy. I REALLY enjoyed it. The vocals are great, guitars are fun, drum beats are catchy, and the bass lines rock. Great listen!! (Had to listen on like 2 YouTube Playlists but we got there with the help of Wikipedia). "Who Says A Funk Band Can't Play Rock?!" is an all-time great!

This album is so boring. It is HEAVILY carried by "America" and the extra bonus tracks. I don't understand the "concept." "A Hazy Shade of Winter" and "Mrs. Robinson" are obviously bangers tho. What the fuck was "Voices of Old People" ???? Actual rating is a 2.5. It is kinda just boring but it has moments.

This album is GREAT. Essentially perfect. This is Jimi at his best. The solos are great, the rhythms are awesome, and to do them all while singing...enough said. This album earns all the props it gets and it has some of his biggest hits. The tones and guitar styles are wayyyyy ahead of their time here.

Janet Jackson can write a HOOK! Also, I didn't know she wrote such meaningful songs with powerful messages! I really enjoyed this album more than I thought I would! This was solid! Her vocals are strong!!! Some of these songs are LONGGGG tho. Also, I hate interludes 99.999% of the time. "Black Cat" was AMAZING! That solo too!!!

Alright...I get it. This album is fantastic. There isn't a dull moment. "Paranoid Android" is a work of art. "No Surprises" is great. I wouldn't call their vocalist a GREAT singer, but he fits the vibe for sure. The guitar tones are so fun. "Electioneering" is FANTASTIC. This is a solid 4.5. "Fitter Happier" is garbage and didn't need to be here tho.

This was good. A solid 3.5. It started slow, but really caught fire at the end. Is it just me or does their singer always sound either flat OR like he is peaking the mics or both? I don't like his voice. The rhythm section and Instrumentals are GREAT tho. This was a solid listen. The last two songs may have been the strongest part.
Liked Songs: "The Modern Age" , "Barely Legal" , "Someday" , "Alone, Together" , "Last Nite" , "Trying Your Luck" , "Take It Or Leave It"

This definitely wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad. I feel like it doesn't know what it wants to be. It is VERY funky (which were my favorite aspects), but has some punk aspects, but also some very avante-garde noises. It was definitely interesting. The vocalist bothers me sometimes tho. VERY funky album. Actual....2.5.

How can you not like ABBA??? It is so unapologetically 80s. So much fun and just makes me wanna get up and dance. The harmonies are perfect and you can just tell they are having a fun time. This was not good. I can not stand her voice. It sounded like I was a pixie running around a DnD campaign but like nothing exciting happens. Sure the story telling was a cool concept but bleh. I bet I could fall asleep fast to this album.

THIS is grunge. I love this album so much. There isn't a bad song here. "Endless, Nameless" is a little too heavy for me, but the instrumentals are great. Simple solos, great lyrics, emotional singing. I love how RAW this album is (especially Kurt Cobain). My favorite trio of all time. Dave Grohl fits in perfectly as the drummer and Krist Novoselic is a fantastic bassist. Has some great lines "Lounge Act" but also has simple parts and makes space for the others. Fantastic work of art. Anyone who says Kurt Cobain only screams has never listened to "On A Plain." This is fantastic. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" , "Lithium" , "In Bloom"...need I say more. Kurt Cobain...the voice of a generation. Whether he wanted to be or not.

This isn't great. Little too experimental for me. Also the whole thing sounded the exact same to me. Very electronic and the singer's voice definitely got on my nerves. There were some fun songs, but when there are 23 there better be. It felt a little too experimental for me. Kinda reminded me of a better version of the "Tom Tom Club." I feel like they have a solid catchy idea, but then the song goes NOWHERE and doesn't change AT ALL

Black Sabbath
5/5
R.I.P. Ozzy Osbourne :( Yeah this album wasn't random. Top to bottom there are soooo many hits and great songs here. Black Sabbath at their best. Ozzy is such a powerful vocalist and Tony Iommi writes some of the greatest riffs in rock. Doom Metal? Hard Rock? Whatever you want to call it. This is great. I am not a huge fan of "Planet Caravan" but this album is fun overall. "War Pigs" , "Paranoid" , "Iron Man" ...are you kidding me??? Actual rating....4.5.
LOVED Songs: Everything except "Planet Caravan" and "Rat Salad" is good, but not my favorite.

Super politically charged, but made me want to dance. If you make a military protest song and they send the military to bear you and your mother up...you probably hit a strong message with your lyrics. Great work on this. Jazz is normally not the music I just want to vibe to, but this was great. These songs are catchy. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Other than "Zombie" not much else stood out to me, but it was still fun overall! Actual rating...3.5
Liked Song: "Zombie"

This is the Rolling Stones at their best. So so fun. I love the rock feel with the big band backing Mick Jagger and the Stones. The entire album is very danceable! This is almost a compilation album of greatest Rolling Stones songs. Love it! It is missing something to really push it to solid 5/5, but it is definitely a 4.5.

This album is soooo weird. The highs are high, but the lows are LOW. It definitely has some great songs and some bad ones. It had some wtf moments. It didn't really feel like the Police tbh. I keep going between a 2 or a 2.5 but I think I'll lock it in as a 2.5.

"This album is so fucking annoying" - Me....a real thing I said while listening to this album. Specifically "World Town." This isn't good. "Paper Planes" couldn't save this album.
Liked Songs: "Paper Planes" and "Come Around"
Gene Clark
3/5
I am not sure how many times I will reach for this album, but it is VERY cozy. I really enjoyed it. Gene Clark's voice is sooo peaceful and calming. The harmonicas kinda get on my nerves, but it was fun! Actual Rating....3.5

Frank Sinatra
4/5
This album is so good. Frank's voice is sooo calming and majestic. I could listen to this album many times. It starts to get repetitive, but it is still so good.

Patti Smith
2/5
Ugh this isn't punk. I can't really get into her voice. The first songs set my standards really high and they just weren't met throughout the rest. Some of these songs are wayyyy too long and just feel to stay at the same level.
Liked Songs: "Gloria: In Excelsis Deo" and "Free Money"
Everything But The Girl

This was fine. Very peaceful and calming. Some good/fun beats. Very laid back. Not a bad listen. Actual rating....2.5.

Miles Davis
4/5
This album is cool (unironically). So good. Miles Davis kicks ass. This doesn't feel like a jam album. It has structure and is interesting. Also, "Move" FUCKS. Almost a perfect 5/5 but actually a 4.5.
Liked Songs: "Move" , "Jeru" , "Venus De Milo" , "Deception" , "Godchild" , "Rocker" , "Israel" , "Rogue"
Brian Eno
2/5
This album is so interesting. It is very "soundscape". It isnt like...bad. But I will never return to this. Anytime Brian sings Im like...please stop. It is kinda of a snooze album. It all blended together and I was waiting for something to happen. Actual rating....1.5
Liked Songs: "I'll Come Running" and "Becalmed"
Supertramp
4/5
This album is so great. I don't really understand the "prog" or "Pink Floyd" comparisons, but this is so much fun. Sometimes the songs go on a little long, but they are entertaining. This album REALLY understands song structure and building / giving a payoff. Loved it! This album is very 70s.
Liked Songs: The entire album although "Bloody Well Right" and "Crime Of The Century" were my least favorites.
Michael Jackson
5/5
This album is fantastic and a GREAT follow-up to "Thriller." It justtttt misses the mark as a perfect 5/5, but it is so so good! Definitely Michael's 2nd best album! Actual rating....4.5. There are hits all throughout, although "Dirty Diana" is so underappreciated.
Liked Songs: The entire album, but "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" is the weakest.
Tori Amos
4/5
Wow can Tori sing! I listened to the Deluxe version of this album and it was a lot of fun. Definitely started to get repetitive, but this was solid. The piano parts were super catchy. Her cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was HAUNTING
Liked Songs: "Crucify" , "Girl" , "Silent All These Years" , "Precious Things" , "Happy Phantom" , "Leather" , "Tear in Your Hand" , "Little Earthquakes" , "Upside Down" , "Take to the Sky" , "Sweet Dreams" , "Flying Dutchman" , "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
Beck
3/5
This album was fun and really peaceful. I enjoyed it. Sometimes Beck's singing feels a little lazy, but the album is solid overall. This album is definitely laid back, but is a fun driving album. "Little One" is so fun. Actual rating...3.5.
Liked Songs: "The Golden Age" , "Guess I'm Doing Fine" , "Lonesome Tears" , "Lost Cause" , "End Of The Day" , "It's All In Your Mind" , "Little One" , "Side Of The Road"
Happy Mondays
2/5
There is nothing wrong with it but it is just....eh. it tends to drone on. It isn't bad, but I don't think I NEEDED to listen to this. The songs are fun, but eh. Actual Rating....2.5.
Liked Songs: "Kinky Afro" , "God's Cop" , "Donovan" , "Dennis And Lois" , "Step On" , "Holiday" , "Tokoloshe Man"
Michael Kiwanuka
4/5
This album was a great journey. It felt super cohesive and really unlike anything I've heard in a while! I loved it. It varied from jazz, rock, soul, and blues, to everything in between. The vocals and intrumentals were all great! Actual rating of a 4.5.

Dolly Parton
4/5
Dolly is an icon and a legend. I normally don't love country, but this is fun. The songs "Coat of Many Colors" is iconic. This is fun. She is such a great singer!
Liked Songs: "Coat of Many Colors" , "Traveling Man" , "If I Lose My Mind" , "Early Morning Breeze" , "The Way I See You" , "Here I Am" , "A Better Place To Live"
The Bees
2/5
This is great music for sitting poolside in the summer and jamming. Unfortunately, I was not doing that while listening to this album. This album was fun tho. It tended to drone on for me and definitely could have been shorter, but it wasn't bad. Very lo-fi.
Liked Songs: "Angryman" , "No Trophy" , "Binnel Bay" , and "Sunshine"
Love
3/5
This album was fun. Felt SUPER 60s. It did feel super repetitive for a while. This is probably a 2.75 rounded up to a 3. Solid listen tho.
Liked Songs: "Alone Again Or" , "A House Is Not a Motel" , "The Daily Planet" , "Maybe The People Would Be The Times Or Between Clark And Hilldale"
Ryan Adams
R.E.M.
4/5
I have such a soft spot for R.E.M as they are the first band I was ever like "I am a fan of R.E.M". Their songs are so fun and were definitely designed for the radio. Michael Stipe is such a good singer. "Moral Kiosk" was sooo catchy and "Radio Free Europe" is obviously a massive hit. "Shaking Through" shows off their vocalist harmonies pretty well too! Actual rating of a 4.5.
Liked Songs: The entire album although "Pilgrimage" and "We Walk" weren't my favorites.
Talking Heads
2/5
This album wasn't my favorite. It had some good catchy moments, but there is something about their vocals that I just can not get into. They are too.... "dark" for me? Maybe? I am not sure what it is. The songs also seem to go on a little too long for me. Overall it wasn't bad. Probably a solid 2.5.
Liked Songs: "Crosseyed and Painless" , "The Great Curve" , "Once in a Lifetime" , "Houses in Motion" , "Double Groove"
Queen

Pulp
2/5
This gave me like off-brand Bowie/Radiohead vibes. It was interesting. "Seductive Barry" was TERRIBLE, but "Sylvia" and "I'm A Man" were amazing. So definitely a lot of high highs and low lows. Actual rating...2.5.
Liked Songs: "The Fear" , "Party Hard" , "TV Movie" , "A Little Soul" , "I'm A Man" , "Sylvia" , "Glory Days"
Emmylou Harris
3/5
This was a good album. Emmylou is a really good singer. The harmonies throughout were great! "My Antonia" reminded me of the beginning of "Cassandra" by ABBA.
Liked Songs: "The Pearl" , "I Don't Wanna Talk About It Now" , "Tragedy" , "My Baby Needs a Shepard" , "One Big Love" , "My Antonia" , "Boy From Tupelo"
Muddy Waters

This was fun. Not something I would regularly return to, but not a bad jazz albums. The live aspect was fun, and I really enjoyed how the songs were shorter and they got in and out of them. Actual rating....2.5.
Liked Songs: "I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man" , "Baby, Please Don't Go" , "Tiger In Your Tank" , "I've Got My Mojo Working"
Queen
4/5
What a fantastic album. This feels very different from everything else Queen did (at least that I listened to). I really enjoyed it. Feels like Queen's Sgt Peppers for some reason to me. I enjoyed the entire outside of "The Prophet's Song". It went on for wayyyyy too long and just wasn't good lol. "Bohemian Rhapsody" is obviously epic. There are some GREAT hits here. "Seaside Rendezvous" was so much fun! Actual rating... 4.5.
Liked Songs: Everything except for "The Prophet's Song"
Grant Lee Buffalo

Liked Songs: "The Shining Hour" , "Jupiter and Teardrop" , "Wish You Well" , "Soft Wolf Tread" , "America Snoring" , "Grace"
CHIC
4/5
The way this album started off....I was NERVOUS, but then it got a lot better with the classic "Le Freak". This album was FUNKY. Had some great licks and guitar lines. "Savoir Fare" was soooo good! Would be fun to perform tbh. That is how you do an instrumental song. This album grooves all throughout. I loved it!
Liked Songs: "Le Freak" , "Savoir Fare" , "Happy Man" , "I Want Your Love" , "Sometimes You Win"
Foo Fighters
3/5
This album was fun. Felt very "Nirvana" but less angry. Pretty cool that Dave Grohl did the entire thing himself. There are some great songs here. I HATED how static-you "Exhausted" sounded tho. I restarted it like 5 times because I thought there was something wrong with my speakers. "Big Me" is a CLASSIC. Actual rating...3.5
Liked Songs: "This Is a Call" , "I'll Stick Around" , "Big Me" , "Alone + Easy Target" , "Floaty" , "Weenie Beenie" , "Oh, George"

3/5
This was good! Probably my 3rd favorite Bowie album behind Ziggy Stardust and Young Americans. I liked the rock elements, but sometimes the jazz was a little much. This album was definitely a little out there at times aka "Aladdin Sane". Actual rating...3.5
Liked Songs: "Watch That Man" , "Drive-In Saturday" , "Panic in Detroit" , "Cracked Actor" , "Let's Spend the Night Together" , "The Jean Genie"
Fatboy Slim
2/5
I am just not a fan of this style. It is too repetitive for me and goes nowhere. There are some HITS here that I didn't know were by Fatboy Slim, but overall this is fine. I have heard "Right Here, Right Now" at every Pens Game during the pregame show and had no idea this is who that was by. I just wish the songs were shorter or they developed into something more. The top songs are great tho and the transition from "Right Here, Right Now" into "The Rockafeller Skank" is so fun. Actual rating is 2.5.
Liked Songs: "Right Here, Right Now" , "The Rockafeller Skank" , "Gangster Trippin" , "Soul Surfing" , "You're Not From Brighton" , "Praise You"

I have never heard of this album or this artist, but I REALLY liked it. This album was raw, the vocals were fun, and I kinda enjoyed how the songs were different throughout. Definitely wasn't the most cohesive album overall, but it was great!

This album is really good. So much fun! So funky and Stevie is obviously a great singer! Other than "Superstition" this song lacks a "top song" to push it to a 5 star album. Actual rating...4.5

Liked Songs: "Bombtrack" , "Killing In the Name" , "Take the Power Back" , "Know Your Enemy" , "Wake Up" , "Freedom"
Scott Walker
2/5
This wasn't bad. Reminded me of something I would have loved when I was in high school. Scott's voice tends to get annoying after too long. Probably wouldn't return to this
Liked Songs: "The Seventh Seal" , "Angels Of Ashes" , "Hero Of The War" , "The Old Man's Back Again (Dedicated To The Neo-Stalinist Regime)" , "Rhymes Of Goodbye"
The Magnetic Fields
1/5
This sucks. I think the concept of "everyone performs select songs and the crowd votes on who did it best" is cool. But it didn't need to be 3 hours of music. The joke "69 love songs" is funny, but I dont think there is a good singer here. The girl is better tho. This just goes on for wayyyy too long and I can't believe I listened to it all. There are some good moments, but I'd hope out of 69 songs. They didn't need this many...AND THEY WANTED 100.
Liked Songs 16/69: "All My Little Words" , "A Chicken With Its Head Cut Off" , "Come Back From San Francisco" , "I Think I Need a New Heart" , "Parades Go By" , "Nothing Matters When We're Dancing" , "Sweet Lovin' Man" , "When My Boy Walks Down the Street" , "Time Enough for Rocking When We're Old" , "Grand Canyon" , "No One Will Ever Love You" , "Crazy For You But (Not That Crazy)" , "Long-Forgotten Fairytale" , "The Sun Goes Down and the World Goes Crazy" , "I'm Sorry I love You" , "Meaningless"
Goldie

This is just not good either. I could have gone my whole life without listening to this. The songs go on for FAR too long and go NOWHERE. They are so repetitive and boring. I gave this .5 stars on Musicboard.
Liked Songs: "State of Mind" and "Jah the Seventh Seal"

Neil Young & Crazy Horse
3/5
This was better than the last Neil Young album. This is like rock and country mixing. His voice still frustrates me, but it seemed to fit better here.
Liked Songs: "My My, Hey Hey (Out Of The Blue)" , "Thrasher" , "Pocahontas" , "Sail Away" , "Welfare Mothers" , "Sedan Delivery" , "Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black)"
The Cure
2/5
This was fine, but I feel sometimes these songs just drone on and on and could definitely be shorter. Overall this wasn't bad, but definitely wasn't great. Their vocalist is just not my style at all. The band isn't bad tho.
Liked Songs: "Pictures of You" , "Closedown" , "Last Dance" , "Fascination Street" , "Homesick"
Antony and the Johnsons
2/5
Eh...again, not a fan of this vocalist. This just too dark. It isn't bad, but just not really my style overall. A little boring to listen to.
Liked Songs: "My Lady Story" , "Man Is The Baby" , "What Can I Do?" , "Fistful Of Love"
The Killers
