All songs have the same style (unsurprisingly) so got a little repetitive but still really enjoyed it as a Christmas listen. Wouldn't put it on any other time of the year
No known "hits" but a solid album front to back. Highlights for me were The Cross and Adore
Great arrangements. Voice reminded me of the zombies or Belle and Sebastian. Really liked this album!
All about love was way too self indulgent. Strong bass playing throughout
That lady, cool synths. Some interesting covers. Highways of my life and that lady were the best tracks. Overall, it was ok.
Own it. Solid but I prefer are you experienced
Bit too 80s sounding at times but overall a fantastic album. Recognized most of the songs, but didn't know they were all from one album.
God help me, I listened to a fair bit of this album. I just don't like his voice. Some of the instrumental aspects were quite nice though like the piano on better off without a wife
This album checks a lot of 80s music boxes in terms of instrumentation. Vocals are all the same. To me, a forgettable album. It's not bad, just boring. No idea why it's on this list.
An alright album. Highlights are yellow and trouble obviously. No other tracks really lept out at me though. Probably wouldn't listen to it again
Aside from self esteem and come out and play I really liked it'll be a long time. A solid album if a bit repetitive but that's just their style so no points deducted.
Spanish, salsa, disco, funk album. Not my thing but they do play well together
Own it, love it
Not a bad album but pretty boring. Background music at best, though not sure what situation I'd put this on in the background
Everybody's talking was a highlight. Had never heard the original before, only Nilson's version. Other than this though, the album was just ok. Lyrics and instrumentation didn't do much for me
Better than I thought. Had a very 70s feel to it
Sad bastard music but it's done well for sure. Say yes and pictures of me were highlights. Overall a good album but one I'm unlikely to revisit
Electronic duo from Scotland, who knew? The music was interesting but I did find the beats a bit repetitive.
A combination of metal and punk. Really didn't like how the singer pronounced reignition. Not my thing but there's definitely talent there musically, less so lyrically and vocally
Fun album
A good cohesive album. No stand out tracks
Own it. Still an awesome album
Great album. I remember when it came out. Still holds up
The squeaking noises ruined my experience. Why is it in every song?! I honestly enjoyed a lot of the songs but that noise was beyond distracting. The album would have been so much better without this
Not really my thing but good for what it is
Such a cool and diverse album. Really should have listened to it sooner! Andre took more chances musically but big boi was more consistent.
Booooooooriiiiiiing adult contemporary jazz. Sorry Paul Weller
I respect the vocal talent but this was definitely not for me
Tried, still find crooning really boring
Really enjoyed this. Some pretty catchy aspects I wasn't expecting.
I don't listen to Nazis
Heard it before. A very solid album that I still enjoyed very much
Pretty cool album. Can hear where some of the future brit pop sound was coming in.
Some interesting choices. I like mixes of languages. I think one song was portuguese?
Great album
Electronic music. Predominantly instrumental.
Classic, no filler. What a debut!
A pretty interesting album. Felt in some ways like a precursor to the Brian Jonestown massacre.
So repetitive
Some nice orchestral arrangements. Couple decent songs but nothing amazing
Some interesting songs and harmonies.
This is the most 1989 sounding record.
Cool album Another love song was a standout. Some interesting harmonies too
