Peace Sells...But Who's Buying
MegadethOne of my favorites and honestly surprised it's here. Classic, especially the entire first half.
One of my favorites and honestly surprised it's here. Classic, especially the entire first half.
The Who have always been a band to me that aren't greater than the sum of its parts. While I respect every member as musicians, especially Keith Moon whose style I love, the music of the group never really does it for me. I knew the main hits and was a fan of Behind Blue Eyes and Won't Get Fooled Again. Love Ain't For Keeping was a new track for me, I loved the sound of it and Entwistle's performance. The rest of the track list just isnt very interesting to me and I've never been a big fan of Baba O'Riley. Decent album but not music I listen to very often.
Very pleasent jazz with good variety of sounds.
Not knowing the Eagles much, I'm surprised by the country rock here. The 2 first singles are pretty solid but the rest just isn't very interesting to me.
Great funk and quite varied too. While I'm a bigger fan of P-Funk than Funk Rock, this is a great album and definitely a classic. Also a good place to start if you havent listened to funk.
Probably my favorite album of all time and I will never get tired of listening to it. In fact, as I listen to more music I end up liking this album more because I can recognize more samples after each listen. Pristine production and some of the best rapping chemistry you'll listen to. Love this.
I'm very surprised and impressed. Having never listened to a Bob Dylan album and not really considering myself a folk fan, I loved this album. Both side A and B, as different as they are, have a good collection of tracks and honestly, no bad songs.
This makes me get The Who more than anything I've listened to before. Live they showcase their talents and energy better than in the studio.
Not bad just not my type of music
Very good but but not particularly special. 3.5
Not bad just not very interesting. The title track is of course amazing.
Didnt enjoy this at all. Honestly difficult to sit through.
Solid but nothing out of this world for me. Since songs are long, the ones that didnt interest me dragged.
Last year was the year I discovered I do like Coldplay, and this re-listen confirms it. This is just really good, I love how it sounds, melancholic and warm. I think the hatred many have for this band blinds them to the fact they did start their career with a really good album
Came in with no expectarion and I really liked it, very well executed 80s pop, good synth and quite funky.
Decent. Generally not a big fan of soundtrack albums but theres a lot of good tracks here. Some are just background music though.
It sounds good, it's atmospheric but it didnt really interest me.
Listening to this for the second time I like it more than the first. But its still just not as good to me as their 70s work. The atmosphere is amazing, but the music not as special to me. Still, this would be a lot of artists best album.
Good. Easy. Not special.
Great bluesy rock that gets to another level with the vocals. Fogerty easily one of the best rock vocalists out there.
Just an incredible display of psychedelic soul and funk, with only a slight problem with album flow. Anyone that likes funk will love this.
I dont know why I didnt really like this on first listen but Im glad I could give it another chance because this is just fundamentally good punk. Catchy and full of energy.
I do think this was better than I expected. Its not bad, just not memorable. I dont like the mix of clean production with attempts at noise with feeback. Not very memorable but not bad at all.
Good sound and production but not very memorable.
Side A is just much more interesting than Side B. Still overall a very good album
Loved the funk, side A is perfect, side B gets slower and less interesting but finishes strong
This era of pop can be very hit or miss for me, but this is overall another good album from MJ, not much worse than Thriller imo.
Weird but nothing sticks with me. Maybe I should listen to Can first.
Just an incredible album, I dont have the words to describe it.
Really enjoyable pop rock that scratches the right itch, not exactly memorable though.
Assuming I listened to the right songs, this is a good record, pretty timeless for something almost 70 years old. It doesnt stand out as it maybe did at one point but I liked it. Especially the first half.
I really like Public Enemy but honestly I dont like this as much as I should, it's not great as an album experience but it has good tracks.
Loved it, love the sound, the creativity, just the overall feel of this album. Great experience.
Good and varied tracks. I like how many genres it covers but there are weaker tracks, like the annoying coconut song.
My fav Pink Floyd, gets better with every listen.
Simple, catchy, great rock
I thought I'd like this much more. I like the sound and production of it but not so much the composition. There's 3 great songs and a lot of meh. Worth a re-listen because I like the ideas, maybe my ear needs more training for this.
While I'm not that interested in the concept, the album is still great. Probably their weakest of the 70s.
This is good. The first half has some really good songs but then the rest just blends into the background. Its good but unmemorable music.
Some good sounds and beats, but hit and miss track list. Some songs are great and others pretty annoying to listen to, they shouldnt all be 5 minutes long. Still, very atmospheric music that really fits the cover with great opener and closing tracks.
Not bad just not for me.
Just too long and too poppy. But not bad, the songs with more maghrebi instrumentation being the best here. Just feels like peak CD era with that bonus track.
Some good songs, but too bloated. Easy to lose interest listening to it.
The lounge easy listening songs here bore me but theres some interesting tracks near the end. Inoffensive.
Love the sound of this so much.
Pretty cool. I like when old albums can sound so unique. Its not all killer but definitely an interesting listen. Also I had no idea he wrote walk on guilded splinters, I love that song.
Very atmospheric but boring
This is really good. I love how diverse the instruments can get, every outro and instrumental moment has interesting details.
I liked this and I'm surprised its here. I like the heavy sound and dark atmosphere, the middle section of this is my favorite.
A lot of great material with amazing vocal performances by Aretha. Some meh songs too.
I really liked this! I like when theres a sense of storytelling in electronic music. This isnt just pleasent listening but it keeps me interested. I can also tell how influential this is.
Great album. No bad songs. This is the best Elvis sound
Very beautiful voice but the track list isnt very memorable. Is this even her best album?
Surprised me. A side is good rock, horn section bass lines. B side is a bit less interesting but this is a good album.
Piano Rock done right, basically no bad songs and only 2 I'd say don't interest me much. Just a great album, easy to listen to but still complex in its song writing and musical pieces. Surprisingly varied too.
Lovely, great sound overall and with a great smash hit in sledgehammer.
Really liked the opener and the ending. I like when it goes for a very dark yet weirdly comfortable feel. But the pitch shifted vocals annoy me and take some points off whats a good electronic album
Great. I love how much of it obviously inspired japanese composers as many songs sound like they belong in jrpgs.
I dont find this very interesting.
Not bad. Not special
Great album, with 3 of my favorite OutKast songs ever. However, as a whole I dont like it as much as ATLiens or Aquemini, it has better peaks but as an album experience its weaker. The first half is borderline perfect, but the second has songs that dont connect with me.
First time listening to Nick Cave and I really enjoyed it. Great voice that fits both the noisier and the softer discs. Basically 2 different albums, and while I enjoyed the first more. Theres very few duds here.
Absolutely loved it. Ghostface is quickly becoming one of my favorite rappers. Very versatile rap albums with a lot of fire. I've already listened to The Champ like 20 times after listening to this album
Noisy and uniteresting, just not for me
Lacks a more diverse sound. While I love latin percussion, this just wasnt very interesting and too 1 dimensional
This got even better with re-listens. I thought I liked Bad more than Thriller but I waa wrong.
Good album. Dirty, heavy, some duds that dont work for me, but some great albums.
2.5/5 I love the hit singles here honestly. Theyre genuinely great tracks. The rest is so mediocre to me, a lot of great riffs wasted on boring songs.
Not my favorite Smiths album but this still has a lot of good material. Fundamentally good music.
This is really good. Its simple but just so catchy with a good sound. Offers decent variety with a bass solo, the longer closer with even a drum one. I think I will be returning to this and its rating should go up
Some good guitar licks but theres so much nothing that it bored me honestly
Not much that stands out. Theres some interesting parts and I like the sound. Maybe I should give it another listen in the future.
I dont like calling albums perfect, but this has no major flaws. Versatile album with memorable songs exclusively. Gets better every time I listen to it.
Another good Massive Attack album. Headphone music, rainy day music. While not as exceptional as other albums in their discography, very good.
At first I wasnt sure I was gonna like it because the title track wasnt what I expected. But as it went on I loved it, the back to back of China Girl and Dum Dum Boys is a highlight to me. Especially the latter, thats my type of song. I appreciate drone music with good bass.
Not as good as The Idiot. Side A is great but Side B loses some steam. Still, versatile and enjoyable album. I love Iggy Pop's music.
So classic and nostalgic. The hits are just so good. Makes me happy this music was as mainstream as it was.
Pretty good! So many hit singles and while not all of them are my favorite, some of the songs hit so hard and the song writing is genuinely creative.
First I gotta say that the production is absolutely classic. No bad beats. Second, this is one of those albums that grow on me with time. Theres still some songs I dont care for much, but it has a lot of great material. Stan, The Real Slim Shady and Bitch Please II are all some of my absolute favorite.
Great soundscapes and some of my fav guitar work, both lead and bass. The first half is stronger than the second, as a whole its a very good album.
Really good songs, great sounds and shoutout to the bass player.
I really enjoyed this one. The first half has a ton of fun rocking riffs and the second still has great but softer songs. 0 bad songs.
Fantastic. Frontier Psychiatrist is a true work of art. The rest of the album is really good, but that one song in particular really stands out.
Absolute classic. My favorite Led Zeppelin by a lot, Stairway will never be overplayed and When The Levee Breaks is my fav song in their catalogue, and one of my favorite of all time.
Beautiful story telling and voice, just a very good album.
Great, normally I dont like bomb squad but this is funky and fun.
I like Kraftwerk but I feel like I still havent been able to fully appreciate an album in its entirety. Love the title track and closer.
Nearly perfection. To drop this just after leaving The Beatles is incredible. The last half hour of jamming shouldnt be here though.
Fantastic. No bad songs. A lot of great ones.
Its ok, most of it is kinda flat other than the 2 main singles, and the last track. Pantera are just great at ballads
Loved it, great to listen to
Probably the jazz album I've enjoyed the most. Its messy, uncomfortable at times, but always interesting with extremely varied instrumentation that surprised me, like the flute and the spanish guitar.
I just really like Yes, their clasic albums always feel so complete to me. There's not much more you could ask from them.
I love Lou Reed's dead pan vocals. The big hits are fantastic although there are some songs that dont do much for me. Great album.
Good collection of songs with varied sound. Definitely my favorite from the Chili Peppers
Amazing track list and material. For a folk album its very diverse as well.
Nearly flawless reggae album. I think I like the deeper cuts more than the bigger hits.
The big hits are truly incredible. I wish it had more rocking tracks like Queen Bitch, but overall great.
So short yet packed with amazing tracks. In My Life being one of my fav songs ever.
Good hard rock party album but its not something I go back to. I do love Hells Bells though.
Incredible sound but its not music I listen to. Deserves more listens from me.
One of the sexiest and smoothes albums Ive ever listened to.
Much better than the last time I listened to it. I do think its a very pleasent listen and it deserves to be called a modern classic. Its just not music I go back to often.
Just an absolute classic. Gets a bit weaker near the end.
Love it. Love the sound, the songs, it just feels great to listen to
Probably my least fav Led Zeppelin album, I just dont like the structure of most songs here. The musicianship is top as always.
I really wanna love The Who but I dont find the music very exciting, I love the individual performances but not the finished work.
One of my favorites and honestly surprised it's here. Classic, especially the entire first half.
I will always believe Queen are a singles band. Killer Queen is amazing and the rest isnt. The 2nd half is just boring to me.
Better than 2 worse than 4.
Fantastic. It always impresses me how longer albums can be so incredible track per track.
Pretty great, no bad songs really. I love Foreplay/Longtime and Peace of Mind, the deep cuts are decent but I dont know how much I will return to them.
Kind of a mess. Positive and negative. Just a lot of different ideas together, a lot of rock n roll, most of it works but it lacks a special something that the other Bowie classics have.
Honestly not a fan of the country Stones songs. Even country honk is better in its blues version. Absolutely love gimme shelter and monkey man, however.
Classic. Even without taking into account this is the first LP of an entire genre, its a great listen. Side A and the closer are great, the guitar tone inspired millions and even more with how great the riffs are. The rhythm section as always holding everything together, though the sound of the drums could improve. Birth of a genre and the legend that's Ozzy. RIP.
Love everything about it. Complex sounds, fantastic listen.
Lovely. Never listened to an REM album fully before and I'm glad I did. American Smiths.
Van Halen are one of the hard rock bands I never listen to but this did surprise me. Side B has some solid deep cuts. The main hits dont really do it for me. I know EVH is mega talented but I dont like his style or tone, never like David Lee Roth's vocals either.
The opening track teased me and made expect more funk metal, overall its ok, its fun but I will only come back for a couple of tracks. I do want to check the rest of their music now.
Such a weird album. Theres good weird and annoying weird but I enjoy it.
Underwhelmed me. Its not bad at all. But I wanted it to be darker, heavier. But it was mostly inoffensive in its sound.
I think this is solid. Sadly a lot of tracks have some details that can make them annoying but the whole album is just so fundamentally solid with its beats and Eminem's skills.
I like the singles and closer but I didnt dig the rest at all honestly!
Albums like this remind me Im not a fan of jazz. Just not music I'd choose to listen to
Great. Not an album thats just a collection of good tracks but an overall good album experience. Insane production, unreal this is from the 80s
Probably underrated in Zep's discography. I think this is top 3.
Loved it
Funky and fun to listen to.
