The Dark Side Of The Moon
Pink FloydWhat could I say that hasn't already been said a million times.
Way different vibe than expected. Very Bowie.
A few jams that still hold up, and you can hear the influence on more recent hip hop, but overall it's not gonna make the rotation today.
Really cool album. Just oozes cool.
Was never into Bowie, still not into Bowie.
Loves Lorde's sound, and individual songs are all generally pretty great, but it doesn't come together into an interesting album, or one that I would ever listen to intentionally.
I know people love and revere Prince, but I am still not one of those people.
Some interesting covers, some less interesting. Great production though.
This sounded like every lame metal album I've ever heard. Did it basically create this genre or something? Cool I guess, but still not interested.
Never heard this before. Starship Trooper was pretty cool, but the rest was unremarkable.
Certified CLASSIC
Sounds like a parody of 1967
Not my favorite Stones album, but still pretty cool stuff.
Had no idea all these classics were on one album. Hate the production on it, but the material is so good it doesn't matter.
Why is this on any list? Such a nothingburger. It just kind of exists and is music.
Serious Beatles vibe that you don't really hear in their later stuff. But you can definitely hear their unique sound developing too, which is pretty cool. Overall not gonna make the rotation though.
Way cooler than I was expecting. It's the Toy Story guy with the goofy voice, but the songs are sharp and engaging af. Adding to the list.
Apart from the 2 good songs, I truly don't see the appeal. Everyone in my hick town loved this shit. Not me.
Legendary. Omission from any best-of list should result in criminal charges.
Not my favourite of theirs, but still an undeniably beautiful album.
I think this is somehow the first time I've heard NY Dolls, and gotta say it was not what I was expecting. Didn't love it...
Sounds like every reggae song I've ever heard, which I assume is why it's so iconic. But not really into reggae so this ain't doin much for me.
No notes. It's LZ2. Damn near perfection.
Already in my regular rotation. Classic.
Oof. Is this on the list as an example of what not to do??
Very interesting. Honestly could have told me it was made last year. That said, not really into it.
Sounds exactly how it looks.
Every single 80's movie featured one of these songs, and it's inseparable in my mind. Uncle Buck is having a heartfelt moment right now. No idea if the music is any good.
It's fine. All Steely Dan seems fine. Throw it on in the background and I won't even notice music is playing.
Goes down smooth
Never heard of this. Not sure why it's important. Seems a bit out of place for 1999, but not in a groundbreaking sort of way. Pretty uninteresting without any additional context.
Love Arcade Fire but don't reach for this one very often. Still a banger tho.
Pretty generic riffing, but the best execution I've heard of this style. Premium background tunes.
This is exactly the generic alt-rock that got far too much radio play in the 90s. No idea why this would be recommended - it's neither good nor interesting.
What could I say that hasn't already been said a million times.
I'm sure they're important, and groundbreaking, and whatever, but they're certainly not good. Really cool sound. Awful songwriting.
It's pretty insane how ahead of their time their sound is. 1989 is an insane release year for this record. Same as when you listen to Surfer Rosa or Doolittle. Except that a bunch of the music that was inspired by The Pixies was actually good, and the music inspired by The Stone Roses was...less so.
Not sure I've ever listened to this one before. Fela has SO MANY stellar albums it's hard to keep track. Anyway, good shit.
Never really got Blur, apart from a few undeniably great tracks. First time listening to one of their albums start to finish - still don't get it.
I suppose this is an interesting developmental period, but if you want to actually just listen to some top-tier Stones this is not the one.
How have I never listened to this before?? Such energy, love it!
Certified gold. Minds were blown. The vibe is immaculate.
Not a huge fan of this vocal style, but they're a lot better than your typical one-hit-wonder. Pretty interesting album.
Never heard of this....but I bet LCD Soundsystem has. This cannot be from 1981. I call shenanigans!
Pretty unremarkable, inoffensive, generic...barely noticed it was playing.
Classic, no doubt, just not my cup of tea.
I was really into the garage revival of this period, and The Vines were not of any interest to me (and still aren't). They would show up in video game soundtracks and whatnot, but I don't know anyone who was into them, never heard them at bars, etc. So many better examples of this genre.
This is the ideal Offspring album. Great energy. Head on. Fun, but not goofy. It's still just Offspring though, so it is what it is.
Well that was weird. No idea of the significance or impact. That's gonna be a no from me dog.
