Great album. Stays on one tone all the way through, though.
Too much theremin and other warbling effects, too little singing ability. Deserved to be a 1-star album but saved by a couple surprise gems.
Why is this hard rock singer saying the n-word? Anyway, surprisingly good album.
It's past time for jazz to be cancelled.
Disco more like dicksblow.
Didn't like it on first listen, but tried again and the mood of the album caught me.
Didn't need the graphic audio of Biggie getting some sloppy toppy, but still an excellent album.
A couple bangers on here. Mostly one single blues tone throughout but it works.
Somewhere out there is a musician whose wonderful music was absolutely destroyed by the operatic diva bullshit vocals on this album.
Always been an awesome album that I haven't appreciated enough.
Album had a number of bangers. I was on the fence for 3 stars.
Wanted to like this more, but it's just so dated.
Thought the album would be good. Didn't realize it would rock so hard for no reason???
Distortion is no substitute for musical ability.
Did you notice the initials of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is LSD? That song is about drugs, dude.
Worst album I ever listened to with a half-chub.
Good album. Needed more of it.
I was vaguely aware of Velvet Underground before. Nice surprise.
Could've been fine with 3 stars as well. It's classic, just dated. None of his hits on this one.
I just hate britpop. I hate it. I've always hated it.
Massively overrated album.
This deserved two stars, but the style and charm caught me.
Probably too harsh if a rating, but what is this dogshit? This is like a high school garage band inexplicably got massive.
Springsteen just sucks ass, man. All of it. He's terrible.
British people should not try to rap. They can't do it. Their language does not support the style.
This is terrible. Beck is terrible. I don't understand how he got famous for this.
I was expecting this to be better, based on reputation, but it was still very good. The guitar reminds me of Eric Clapton.
I had no idea what to expect from this album, but it delivered a little bit of everything 1969.
I don't think Joni Mitchell understood melody. Just took a shotgun approach to these high notes. I'm predisposed to liking a pleasant voice and an acoustic guitar, but this was not it.
I think Alanis sang this album on helium.
I remember you was conflicted.
First half of the album is a 5. Second half is a 3. Get averaged.
Made the same song 12 times, but 2-3 of them are good.
Pretty boring, but quality music and singing.
The music is okay, the singing is not very good, it feels more like Leonard Cohen wanted to write poems and someone forced him to make them into songs.
This is probably the first 4 I'm giving to an album I'm unlikely to listen to again. It's not for me, but the music was just undeniable.
The Furby Award for the most 90s album I've ever heard goes to...
I am way too enamored with the early-90s alt stuff. Was bordering on a 4 but went with 3.
4 tracks, 45 minutes, and half of it is just Isaac Hayes telling a story. Where's my music album, Isaac?
Never heard of this band before and probably won't again after this.
Depeche Mode fandom is a mental illness.
Really got hipsters out here acting like the just-okayest band is some revelation.
This is, I guess, pretty early southern rock. Nothing special about it but not bad.
Love the Beatles, just not my favorite album of theirs.
Heroes is the only truly great track on this album. Some others are decent. A couple are not good at all.
I was surprised by how good this album was. Obviously surf rock, but a little punk, a little bit of a few different things.
A cop has a man in handcuffs outside a club. The cop goes to take a statement. The man says, "first they played 'Jump', so I jumped. Then they played 'Twist and Shout', so I twisted and I shouted. I guess all the trouble started when they played 'Come On Eileen'".
Anyway this album kinda sucks lmao.
Yeah just make the same song 12 times and it'll fundamentally shape the punk genre. Good job.
I don't have any use for this album. Did not expect more from Germans, honestly.
Never heard of this guy before, but pretty good stuff.
Really not terrible music, but there wasn't a single track to grab my attention or that I want to hear again.
The most non-descript, just-fine album I've heard in a long time.
Such talented musicians and they let Anthony Keidis sing like an absolute dipshit and ruin this whole thing.
It's like an album where the goal is to be so boring that I tune out the music.
