Halfway through Tubular Bells part 2 it loses the plot a bit, but great until then.

I had never really listened much to The Clash - this was surprisingly good and not exactly what I expected.
Yeah just ok at best, for me it's a poor mans Nick Drake on this album.

Listening to this album, its really not a surprise in hindsight as to why they thought I Can See For Miles would be their first #1. Most of the album is turgid stuff, but I Can See For Miles stands out like the diamond it is in comparison. Way, way too much filler on here.

It's still a superb album - some of the other Oasis ones haven't survived the passage of time quite as well but this one is a veritable classic.

Great voice, the album not quite up to that level. A couple of tracks are really good but overall its pretty average fare, just leaves you wondering what might have been had she not overdosed so early in her career.

Just way too shouty, and because the shouty parts only seem to be the same pitch or the same two pitches alternating, it's excessive and hard to listen to. The songs that are sung normally are actually pretty good - Little Babies probably my favourite.
Its a decent album, for some reason I'd mostly only ever really listened to Live Through This before. Its not quite as good as Live Through This but its still a solid album.
I'm guessing this album is only included because it has In The Ghetto and Suspicious Minds on it. There was maybe one or two other decent ones i'd heard of before but mostly average fare otherwise. Still, Elvis has a great voice.
Green Onions is a decent track, rest of it is pretty forgettable.

Really not sure how this made the list. Being generous, its pretty average fair at best, and it doesn't seem to be any more ground breaking than any other record of the time.
I'm not sure I'll ever quite understand why so many people hold QotSA in such high regard. There is something about the sound / mix that never sits right with me and makes everything sound not quite so good as it could have. There are a couple of good tracks on this album but it's mostly unremarkable fare that goes on too long.
I quite liked The Verve back in the day and bought this album when it came out. Thought it was great at the time but then when Bittersweet Symphony got played to death I kind of left it alone since.
Listening to it again in full for the first time in decades, it still is a very good album.

Was my favourite Oasis album back in the day, but I don't think it's aged quite as well as the debut. I guess Gary Glitter references will do that. Still, the title track might yet remain my favourite Oasis track.

The cover of the Neil Young song Only Love Can Break Your Heart is the standout track on an album that has promise but doesn't quite deliver otherwise.
I was somewhat surprised by how good this album was on release, I guess I had very low expectations. It's not quite great, but it's certainly very good.
I tried listening to Sigur Ros years ago but it never grabbed me at all. This album is actually much better than I remember them being - some great stuff but also some dull stuff. Overall though a decent album.

Hadn't heard anything by Peter Tosh before - this was better than I expected, but still fundamentally unremarkable. Pleasant enough to listen to but nothing that stands out and makes you want to listen again.
Kind of weird album in that it seems like they just chucked everything they'd done recently on the same album. If they had trimmed a lot of the more average tracks off it could have been pretty good. As it is, its ok - some good stuff but weighted down by the excessive length and some pretty average songs mixed in.

Elvis Costello is someone I feel like I ought to like a lot more than I do, but his stuff mostly underwhelms. Too many tracks that sound like they would have been warmly received in the late 50s rather than the late 70s in particular. It just didn't do much for me.
I thought this would have really aged badly but it stood up better than I expected.

Great album, but going to knock it a bit for Waiting for the big one - a bit boring and went on too long.
Some stuff on here that I like a lot - Sit Down, Stand Up is great for instance. However overall its mostly average and not enough stands out.

I guess this is only on the list because it's Brazilian? For the most part, it sounds like any number of albums from this time period, nothing stands out particularly. That said, there are a few decent tracks. All in all though a pretty unremarkable album.
It was OK I guess. Not that great, but i've heard far worse.
I've tried listening to other King Crimson albums before and never really been convinced by them, but this one was genuinely great.
First album I ever got of Beefheart was Trout Mask Replica. Which was fucking awful. The second album I got was this one, which was great. Going to ding it a point for I'm Glad though.

I think I liked this more back in the day than I do now - its lustre has faded somewhat over the years for me. Still good, but there are a weaker tracks on it that drag it down a bit.
Pleasant enough, not what I would usually listen to. Bit too much use of falsetto and some tracks have instrumental parts that seem unnecessary (All about love and See the light, i'm looking at you)
A pretty disparate collection of tracks, doesn't really hang together well. Its mostly good with some great, but also some not so good.
Feared the worst when I looked up Kacey Musgraves and saw she did country. That said, this is more of a pop album with the taint of country looming large. Oh What A World was really good, on balance the songs were more good than bad, but some of the lyrics were godawful.
First half of the album was a real chore to listen to, very average songs with nothing to distinguish themselves. Fortunately it picked up about halfway through and it was a lot better after that. Still, its all relative - I wouldn't care to listen to this album again. Not that it's bad, just that it sank into the sea of mediocrity.
