Chirping Crickets by Buddy Holly & The Crickets
Aug 24 2025

A delight. Maybe Baby is one of most adorable songs in the world.

Third by Portishead
Aug 25 2025

Enjoyed it but felt a bit dated. Not as timeless as their bigger hit.numb right?

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Aug 26 2025

Absolutely incredible prodction. Every song is a masterpiece. There were two lesser known songs for me Baby Be Mine and Human Nature, which are fairly forgettable given the sheer power of the other tracks. The song with Paul McCartney is pretty dumb, but the silliness is too charming not to sing along.

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Aug 27 2025

I really appreciate the storytelling, but it all fell a bit flatter than I remembered hearing. Maybe because I was recalling at Folsom. The presence of hard censoring bleeps was disappointing but also a capsule to the time. Cash is incredible, but I'd rather pick up folsom

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Aug 28 2025

Not really my style. I find it fairly boring without much to distinguish songs. I understand the talent, but it doesn't speak to me.

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
Aug 29 2025

Haunting and raw. I'll try this on a long drive tomorrow.

The Who Sell Out by The Who
Sep 01 2025

There's something about the production that really makes these songs more abrasive. I truly enjoyed the silliness and skill across them all.

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Sep 03 2025

Sheer fun and pump me up jams.

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Sep 04 2025

I've always liked this "worldy" album from the Talking Heads. Every song slaps.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Sep 09 2025

Wild horses slaps. Otherwise fairly fine blues-driven rock, which has a fairly predictable formula. Likely very influential. Sister Morphine has got some legs. But to be clear. This is an epitome of the rolling stone aesthetic, dripping with their style, and certainly raw musicality. I wouldn't pick it up to listen to, but I cannot dispute its importance.

The Message by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five
Sep 10 2025

Great handful of songs, but more uneven or even dull for stretches. Very influential

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Sep 16 2025

She rips. I don't care for the jig, but HERE I GO

Nixon by Lambchop
Sep 19 2025
Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Sep 20 2025
Machine Gun Etiquette by The Damned
Sep 22 2025

How have I not loved and biked and waltzed to this album? What an incredible treat? Gimme that organ solo on "I Just Can't Be Happy Today" everyday, and I will be happy everyday, sorry boiz. Holy smokes!

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Sep 23 2025

I was honestly expected a lot more for a Jack White album on this list. Compared to White Stripe albums, this wa bit more of a snooze. I appreciate this face of Mr White, but it just didn't sit with me.

Oct 15 2025

boring brit pop correction: aussie pop

Mott by Mott The Hoople
Oct 16 2025

Enjoyable background vibes

S&M by Metallica
Oct 17 2025

90s maximalism. I can dig it.

Expansive, whimsical and endlessly prince. There's all sorts of musical traps to be be lured into. It like prince has been sucked inside a synthesizer and is fucking his way out.
