Palo Congo by Sabu

Not really for me. There are much better cuban folk / jazz albums.

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Apr 28 2026

I sighed when I got this as my first album for this random generator. I had my teen / early 20s pretentious bias at a time when I was trying to find my own music. Listening to it now I can admit the bangers that this album had in the front half. Second half isn't much more than an OK.

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Apr 29 2026

Classics and less known greats. The dynamic range of the music is amazing and I found myself bobbing my head or humming along to all of the album.

Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Apr 30 2026

Definitely one of the most easy listening album of reggae. I enjoyed putting on in the background while working

This Is Fats Domino by Fats Domino
May 01 2026

Parts of the origins of blues / rock. Not something I actively listened to but nice to have on in the background.

Stankonia by OutKast
May 02 2026

Some absolute bangers outside of the well known tracks. Interludes are unnecessary and don't really add much, and cause the album to be longer without any purpose

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
May 03 2026

Wow! This album absolutely slaps! Amazing blues rock tunes which you can get lost in.

The Yes Album by Yes
May 04 2026

Classic prog rock. More of a set and forget kind of thing unless you're really into it. Reminds me of my youth.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
May 05 2026

Soft rock dreamscape.

High Violet by The National
May 06 2026

I really tried to get through this album but it was just the same thing - a song with a couple riffs repeated and droning voice.

Bug by Dinosaur Jr.
May 07 2026

Yes it's noisy and messy but I hear so many foundations of influence for 90s punk bands. Very akin to Nirvana in some places too.

69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields
May 08 2026

This album is long and some of it has fillers. If you look past the length there are some absolutely catchy & sometimes hilarious songs. Im a fan of songs not being taken too seriously, and a lot of this hit the mark. "Fido your leash is too long..."

Live And Dangerous by Thin Lizzy
May 09 2026

Classic rock album. Atmosphere of the live performance adds to the overall vibe.

Imperial Bedroom by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
May 11 2026

Never really listened to Elvis Costello. Decent backing music and story telling. A bit monotone in singing, but enjoyed parts of it.

From Elvis In Memphis by Elvis Presley
May 12 2026

The album is definitely one that you could put on in the background in mixed company and no one would really complain. Nothing spectacular.

May 13 2026

Just doesn't sound like much more than prog rock. I normally like prog rock but it doesn't stand out as an album to me.

Machine Head by Deep Purple
May 14 2026

Yeah, ok rock from the time. Preferred to blues rock songs more tbh

Hot Shots II by The Beta Band
May 15 2026

I could see myself get lost in a lot of this album.

Young Americans by David Bowie
May 16 2026

Jazzy sax but nothing too inspiring in the album

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
May 19 2026

Funky with some alright songs. Not really my thing.

Who's Next by The Who
May 22 2026

The (actual) Who that everyone knows and loves.

The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter by The Incredible String Band
May 24 2026

Nope, I tried. I really did. My rule is listen through minimum 2/3, and skim through last songs if I'm not vibing. And this just irritated me to no end.

Survivor by Destiny's Child
May 25 2026

Very 2000s. Takes me back to my youth but wasn't really my vibe at the time.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
May 26 2026

Epic classic. Great background or sit down and focus on the rock opera kind of album.

Sunshine Superman by Donovan
May 27 2026

Some good songs, but most are just early raga rock which was gaining prominence at the time in the psychodelic bands.

Le Tigre by Le Tigre
May 28 2026

General style is something I enjoy, and I can see the potential that Le Tigre eventually became but it's not quite there yet.

May 29 2026

Foundations for a lot of psychedelic/rock at the time. Alright but not amazing.

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
May 30 2026

Great songs, enjoyable to listen to and recognize songs I didn't know was from this album

Achtung Baby by U2
May 31 2026

A couple catchy songs but otherwise generic arena rock. Still much better than the forced iTunes trash album

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Jun 01 2026

A little snapshot in time of music in this era.

Jun 02 2026

I knew of Wu Tang Clan when I was younger but never really connected their music to them. Wow, fantastic album. An absolute classic.

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Jun 06 2026

Yeah, some classics in there. Mostly background music

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Jun 08 2026

A great acoustic folk-rock album with simple, steady beats and no flashy production. Her deep voice and excellent storytelling just draw you in and keep you listening.

Different Class by Pulp
Jun 09 2026

Interesting. Catchy, boppy and some weirdness that you don't tend to get on modern albums.

Future Days by Can
Jun 10 2026

This is kind of what I want prog rock to be. Also some proto-chill hop vibes. Very cool album.

Boy In Da Corner by Dizzee Rascal
Jun 11 2026

A bit becomes my young adult years so probably not something I was massively into, but I get it for the pre-drill foundation.

Arise by Sepultura
Jun 12 2026

The heaviest of metal 🤘 Nothing overly exciting for me.

Parachutes by Coldplay
Jun 13 2026

I hadn't heard this before other than Parachutes & Yellow (obviously). Pretty good first album.

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Jun 14 2026

Classic proto-rock album. A lot of songs I knew but never realised were on this album.

Justified by Justin Timberlake
Jun 15 2026

Pretty decent JT album for a debut.

Horses by Patti Smith
Jun 16 2026

Not the greatest but I can appreciate it for the time.

New Wave by The Auteurs
Jun 17 2026

Meh, it's nothing exciting and pretty general.

Jun 18 2026

Funky Jamiroquai. Nice little album to groove to but nothing spectacular.

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Jun 19 2026

Uplifting and funky album. Reminds me of 90s soccer.

Blackstar by David Bowie
Jun 20 2026

Fun little album. Mix of Bowie-esque style. There's been better but still a decent listen.

Darklands by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Jun 21 2026

It was ok. Soft rock album

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Jun 23 2026

I heard of Massive Attack but never really gave them a look in but this album is excellent downtempo for feeling rhythm and chill.

Jun 24 2026

Listening to this with context of a "ballet" definitely makes it logical in the style. Does it mean that I like it? No. Can I appreciate it for what it is? Sure.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Jun 25 2026

Classics that I did realise were Meatloaf. Probably a bit of a misleading cover but "don't judge a book" and all that.

The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles
Jul 01 2026

Whenever I hear Ray Charles it reminds me of the movie Ray. I like Jamie Foxx

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Jul 03 2026

Lounge music to chill to

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Jul 04 2026

They can't all be bangers but I do love the occasional country song.

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Jul 07 2026

I didn't realise who steely Dan was until I heard this album. Definitely understand why listening to it is dadmaxxing, but guess I'm a dad now.

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Jul 08 2026

Piano. Yep, that's all I can think. Perfectly fine.

Picture Book by Simply Red
Jul 09 2026

Pretty decent. I'm not saying it's amazing, but the blue eyed soul it's good.

Jul 12 2026

Really interesting listen and I can hear some many elements of different British rock / dance music

1989 by Taylor Swift
Jul 15 2026

I knew some of the songs already and the remainder were ok. Not my cup of tea but I can appreciate why it's so well regarded.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jul 16 2026

We want Chilly Willy! Classic funk rock album.

Gold by Ryan Adams
Jul 17 2026

Nice mix of folk, country and pop rock

Elephant by The White Stripes
Jul 18 2026

One of the greatest rock albums of this era

Os Mutantes by Os Mutantes
Jul 19 2026

An interesting mix of psychedelic rock and the Portuguese language I wouldn't have thought I'd enjoy. Some songs were good, others ok. Not something I'd share with others but I'd be ok if a random song came on in my mix.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Jul 20 2026

This is the kind of album that transcends a person's genre preferences and everyone can appreciate it for the energy and smooth jazz it is

Back In Black by AC/DC
Jul 21 2026

Hall of fame classic rock album

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Jul 22 2026

You hate jazz? This is peak jazz but actually listenable despite all the different time signatures. Plus it has 'Take Five' one of the most popular jazz songs on it.

Palo Congo by Sabu
Jul 23 2026

Not really for me. There are much better cuban folk / jazz albums.

Roger the Engineer by The Yardbirds
Jul 24 2026

Meh, there's better from the individuals in this band. Not sure why this album is such a must listen to

Smash by The Offspring
Jul 25 2026

Some notiable favourites, some that sound familiar but aren't, but overall an average album

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Jul 30 2026

Sugar pop singing - not really my jam.

British Steel by Judas Priest
Jul 31 2026

Standard heavy metal album. A bit indistinguishable from others. Made me laugh thinking of Jack Black singing 'rock' songs though.

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Aug 01 2026

This is the 80s summarised as an album.

Moon Safari by Air
Aug 02 2026

Fantastic album that makes me feel like I'm in a chill dream land. For that downtempo electronica album, I'd be recommending this to friends.

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Aug 04 2026

I appreciate this album for what it is which is classic heavy metal, but it sounds too much of the same to my non-metal ears

Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Aug 05 2026

"I'm walking into the bar, I see some good looking broads. I say 'hey, give me a drink.'" Great songs

The Specials by The Specials
Aug 06 2026

Old school ska. Some good, some meh.

Treasure by Cocteau Twins
Aug 07 2026

Really just background ambient rock. Ok, but not my jam.

Aug 14 2026

I avoided this album for a long time because I just thought grunge and unplugged didn't work. I was wrong. Very emotive

Station To Station by David Bowie
Aug 15 2026

Fantastic album. A Bowie I can appreciate.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Aug 16 2026

Hard to not love Dolly Parton and everything she does. Just depends on your mood and what you're after in terms of country music. This album wouldn't be my favourite but it still sits high on my list.
