This is an exceptional album. The metal is deep without being overwhelmingly loud. I was able to appreciate the details and depth
Adam Duritz is an incredible poet. Of all the 90's groups, Counting Crows is definitely a favorite of mine
I found a lot to like here. I didn't have the day available to spend the time, but what I got to listen to held my interest
I love a good story told in song. Positive vibes here

I was pleased with the music... Made for good drive time
Beautiful instrumental work.
Can't put my finger on it, but the vocals and music seem to be a half tone out of step with each other. Weird effect, and not to my liking
Generally positive on this one....
Enjoying this.
Another great female artist
I love a good story told in song. Positive vibes here
MCR was a band that was past my era, but this was definitely a solid album.
Delightful. Group has a solid sound
Great switch up. I don't know swedish, so I can't vouch for quality of lyrics but the vocals went well with the music
What a fun listen! Loved the folk style music. Lyrics were very easy, and unlike a more contemporary Drop Kick Murphy's, didn't need to be vulgar to make a point
Drum heavy but not in a bad way
Substantiative offering. Would have guessed 90's if I hadn't seen the write up
I started listening to this on a rainy drive to work day. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Loved the thematic sessions
Not unpleasant.
Quite funky! Good beats for a pre holiday mindset
Not bad for genre
I suspect whoever submitted this album for consideration was owed a significant amount of money from the artist, and was fervently hoping that with enough exposure to the public the album may make a few more dollars. I can't think of anything else to want this album to be listened to.
The instrumentals were top notch. The 'greek chorus' of the lyrics didn't seem intense enough to match
A bit eclectic.
I loved the dance beats. Also, very big fan of that accent.
Bunch of fun little rants. Adequate but not 'serious' music
Beautiful sounds. First time I heard this artist. Will listen again
Very nice techno beat
Lived the raw essence feels. Music was good, singer seems to be talking to you to tell the story
Great drum and bass. Very acceptable horn work
Was not bad, but it felt hollow. Like, I am playing notes, but I don't have any heart behind them
Repeat after me: distortion is not music
Very nice vocals.
Very nice vacation play. Gentle within the a decently moving music score
Another very decent vacation sound track. I can only understand a few words, but seems like good stuff. Music works well with the story telling
The instrumental piece was very good. Vocals sounded 'off' ... can't say if it was pitch, or trying to hit too many notes (flats) singers don't normally try for
Surprisingly easy to listen to.
Gentle and soothing... Wonderful wind down songs
Easy to listen to...
A real rough cut. Seemed to be part demo tape and part innovative concept. Lyrics were well done
Winsome latanic beats
Decent vocals and satisfying music
Aptly named. Good stories
Young Faga was very fresh.
This has a remarkable throwback sound similar to the original Motown groups of the sixties. Raw, direct, simplistic
Felt a bit like Springsteen when Bruce wasn't a whiny little bitch.
Representative of the era...really clean music
Frolicking jaunt through some well crafted tunes
Really excited to listen to this instrumental. Will listen again
Great listen. It fits favorably with the time period
Excellent instrumental work
Offbeat but sometimes it is interesting to listen to people who porport to be joyless
Loved the rhythms. Small sample set, but kept my interest
Fun throw back...felt like I was deep in the 90's / 00's again
Great stuff. Liked the understated strength.
Moving, but almost too slow
Lovely instrumental.
I really wanted to like this. The music rocked. The vocals rocked. Together...not so much
Didn't enjoy this as much as I should have. Lots of different voices so it was hard to get a smooth rhythm
DMB is very solid. Kept me interested through out
Nope. ADHD inspired metal. Not my style
"hey, look at me! I do drugs! I have sex, sometimes with girls!" Sadly, that's my takeaway... Minimal effort, and likely minimal fucks given by the artist
There is a certain deepness you can feel. He lived these lyrics
Even temper. Had fun for sure
Well-paced. I liked the story telling
Nice rasta feel
Fitting name: Babymetal Energetic but not overwhelming...
Since I don't speak the language (assuming Portuguese), I cannot speak to the story telling. Voice went well with the music
Again, can't give an opinion on the story telling but music was in accord with vocals
Typical of the era
I liked the "Pink Floyd" quality of the album. Might listen again
I learned something new about me today. I have a "too weird" level below what was my previous level.
Had not listened to Tool when I was younger but enjoy them now. Full bodied
I didn't know I needed this
Light, breezy quality to this. Fun music
Good, easy listening. Nice story telling
Smooth moving. Nice to listen to
Great tone. Fits well to the dreary day
Very serviceable relaxed music
Quirky. I was a bit turned off by the allusion to violence in the early bits
Nice addition to the jazz lineup. Will look for more by these guys
Suitable to fill in the background while doing other things.
Great disco bump from back when I was alive
Interesting sounds for late 70's Might give a listen again
Smooth sound. Pleasant to listen to
Barnett has a voice I appreciate very much. A siren call that compels you to listen to what she's saying.
Forgot about this. Excellent, thoughtful music
O. No.
Smooth gentle vocals. Same troubled years messages but not 'in your face'. Him, I will listen to.
Good listen.
This is an exceptional album. The metal is deep without being overwhelmingly loud. I was able to appreciate the details and depth
Fresh vocals. Joy behind the voice
Mixed feelings about this.... I enjoyed the effortless guitar, but the drum track was somehow a bit off-putting and repetitive. No real flavor on the drums
Nice sample of way late 60's / early 70's music
Soft voice, livable lyrics.
I'm really enjoying this album. Very comfortable with the music and lyrics
Fun little venture into metal. Frenetic without depth.
Such fun! Al is the ultimate satirical answer to life, the universe and everything
I love listening to this Pirate. Not a full fledged Parrot head, but close enough. RIP to a gentle troubadour
This didn't catch my fancy.
A surprising amount of depth to the lyrics. A decent "story album". Can't imagine grabbing for this at all though.
Being a typical American, my exposure to European is language is minimal. I will say the voice went exceptionally well with the music, and I really liked the music
Somewhat unusual...lots of minor keys added to the nilism.
Overall positive thoughts about the album. For me, no great standout track, but substantial reason for me to listen to more
Nice beats. Traveling today so can't really appreciate it. Better than average
Pleasant background music
Solid guitar player. Worth additional listening
Marillion happens to share the name of a bard in the first Game of Thrones book... Was just rereading that section when this popped up as today's album. Coincidence?
Very seldom has an album cover depicted my feelings about the music so succinctly.... The cover of this somehow perfectly captured my "WTF" Well done
Adequate
Nice. Weird texture but likeable
Delightful music for a gray day.
Such a smooth story getting told here.
Really got drawn into the album because of the provacative lyrics of the first song, but stayed because it was very decent story telling and quite pleasant to listen to.
I am a bit jaded. CR is "the latest craze" and the lyrics appealed to the least common multiple of people who have and use genitals. (Sigh). The voice was fine, the music was fine. I'm just over the over hyped.
Very nice blend of instruments and vocals.
Storytelling was on point and just enough instrumental back.
Again, great story telling with acoustic instrumentals. This guy knows where he comes from
Reliance on the technique through the album. Not bad, but became repetitive.
Nicely upbeat. Proof you can have fun while not stressing too much
In the Mount Rushmore of jazz, Coltrane has a spot.
Very thoughtful lyrics matched cleverly to music riffs. Really enjoyed all of it
I found a lot to like here. I didn't have the day available to spend the time, but what I got to listen to held my interest
Pleasantly presented. Has a unique rhythm which was not difficult to enjoy
Lighter take from the normal grunge of 90's era music. Very Nice
My normal advisory that this isn't my favorite genre. Easy to understand and not blatantly hateful.
Didn't speak the language, so I just considered the voice to be another instrument. Seems to have been really good; hopefully wasn't hateful
Music is delightful. My incredibly basic understanding of French picked up enough context to get by, but I have no doubt I didn't get all the nuance. Will listen to again
Dynamic sound. One of the better groups of time
Wow. Unexpectedly painful to listen to. Couldn't get beyond the second track.
I enjoy soft ballads such as these. Easy listening any time
That's some really raw tunage. Cool in the fact that it is 50 years old....
Reminiscent of late 70's music, unexpectedly coming across as unpolished
Drummer playing all at the same pace. Likely loses 10 kilos a concert.
Gentle story telling...easy to listen to
Thoughtful story telling. Very good vocals
I am a fan of easy listening / storytelling. Was not disappointed
Fair to middling
Good mello groove on a cold December Friday
An honest appraisal would say this was a decent but not outstanding album. Yet, this one goes back to when I was alive fifty years ago. I immediately think of people and places that I hold fondly in my memories. The title track is on my 'stuck on an island ' list and even after the album played, I had to listen one more time. Five stars, for the memories
Serviceable but paled compared to yesterday's.
Meh. Was ok
This album brings a feeling of such innocent bliss. This is childhood, discovering great universal truth type of greatness
Burnham has a brilliant way of discussing his struggles with mental health in a lighthearted manner. The music is somehow both satire and parody while being approachable.
This sounds a bunch like Kansas's Leftoverture with the 'just enough' drum and the soaring vocals.
Strong singer-songwriter stuff. Could see hanging out for a full set
Just didn't have a desire to listen past the first few tracks. The year 2025 ends in ten hours, and this is not how I want to remember it nor what I want to be my last music for the year. BTW, best wishes for your 2026 everyone!
I am both happy and sad to start 2026 with this album. Happy because it reminded me about some great times. Sad because I can read and saw it was fifty years old. As music, rating it on the plus side
Very listenable indie group. Good arrangement for vocal and instruments
Fair to good vocals and such
Sometimes you want to rock out to some stronger beats. Liked this
A nice southern rocker. Was well suited to the morning
Banger
Lovely change of pace from my typical listening
Quirky change of pace.
Having fun making music!
Nice beats
Solid metal presentation. Nothing that separates their stuff from others
A lot of talent on this album. Great selection
Quite enjoyable! These two have well matched voices. Told their story without an excess of profanity which was a triumph
Really felt nice listening to the album.
I can't really identify the genre, but I found it to be a delight
No.
Pretty hopping tunes. Not bilingual, so assuming it wasn't advocating death, misogyny or other inappropriate topics
Odd production sound. Not bad, but truly a bit
Enjoying this. Good lyrics, good mix of instruments
Weezer had a decent sound. A lot of the stuff from this era seemed to be interchangeable (same themes, same level of mediocre efforts) Wouldn't seek this out, but would listen to it if it were on
Good solid driving tunes. Typical of the time
Solid metal base. I found the voice over radio DJ bits gave it a 'real' feeling
I started doing the album a day thing about 1200 albums ago, with the intent to broaden my horizons. In all my years, I somehow had never listened to Phish. This was a two hour helping, and afterwards I wanted to listen to more. Definitely will sample other stuff
Solid performance.... Good story telling
Fairly decent
Young, strong Ozzy. Great album
Hints of new age with all the intentional distortion
Rap but with better music behind it
Small difference between story telling and storytime. This was an excellent storytime
Wasn't a bad metal offering, but the hatred of half their target audience will likely not do much for their shelf life.
Good voice, fast oaced
Forenote: not a favorite genre. That said, I found it easy to listen to and would be open to another listen
Oddly compelling. Blips from history I've lived with an unending supply of hold music. It beats me why, but I found myself liking it
Adam Duritz is an incredible poet. Of all the 90's groups, Counting Crows is definitely a favorite of mine
Easy enough to listen to. Nothing compels a revisit
For me, this was an unremarkable effort.
Gentle to the ear
Started to listen to this and got distracted by life. What I heard wasn't bad
Paul McCartney is one of the standards by which modern music is measured. He can make a viable song from the ingredients of a cake mix. This effort from his post Beatles world is very good
Surprisingly popping music. I was quite excited
Miss Parton is an incredibly lovely soul. I see that in her music. I automatically loved this
Kind of in my preferences wheelhouse. Musically easy to listen to
Best thing about this was being short. Very acceptable punk style... Was getting bored by 3rd song
Sadly I didn't understand this one. Only made it through a couple of tracks. The album hiss and pop effects were overdone
Surprisingly good beats.
Fit well in the background as I was going about my day. I liked it
Could have, and still might, listen to this again back to back. A grand level of smooth
Well done 80's rock
Fun dip back to the late 70's No performance enhancing substance was consumed to increase enjoyment
I found it pleasantly good... Doubt I will take a second listen though
Jaunty euro-club feel.
A feel good rocker from the north. Reminiscent of Joanie Jett but more Canadian nice
Swift beats, 90's feel like Green Day, but better
Reminded me of 70's funk. So very good in it's own style
Canadian nice
Excellent regional sounds.
Very basic. Well done, but nothing that was 'signature'
Excellent pace and energy.
Had a very pleasant listen to. Strong music without being too in your face
Very decent live set. Wouldn't seek it out but won't walk out
A bit more thoughtful and deliberate than I anticipated. Was very pleased
Nice rhythm
I no longer wonder why the kids of this generation are so depressed. They had to listen to this crap
Always appreciated a simple singer with simple backing instruments. Good story telling
A 70's r&b feel. Easy, smooth listening
Fine line between frenetic and chaos. This definitely crossed that
Great starting point for a Monday. Happy music, in the sense that it was easy to understand
I mean, if you want to be a singer songwriter, be a friggin boss at it like Lou Reed. He owes the Wild Side on which he walks
Very well mixed. Drums led the way without being overwhelming. Vocals had depth in the story telling
Desolation rock. There is no hope, ever. Sorry
Enjoyed the storytelling. Strong, confident vocals and a very solid rocker.
Delightfully unusual
Entirely adequate
Deliberate / intentional. Wasn't all over the place
Wonderful 70's feel.
I would listen to them at a festival. I would not go just to listen to them
Hadn't thought about these guys in a while. Will give it another listen soon
Great sounds. Top level story telling and nice engineering
Counter culture that blended into mainstream seemlessly
Snappy punk! Happy frenetic pace
Very nice metal offering
Mixed reviews from me. Torn between appreciating the unusual approach and asking myself what the hell did I just listen to.
A bit of light opera. Easy enough to listen to, not sure if I would seek it out
This deserves a full listen. Solid lyrics and music that draws you in.
No secret that I enjoy jazz. So, I was favorably impressed with this album from 1959.
Almost felt like a spoof of real rap. Were these guys ever really trying?
Was okay
Was a more mature sound for NIN, I think. Still good
Indie pop. Very palatable
Nice example of punk for the era
A lovely voice with credible accompaniment.
Moves deliberately. Definitely one of the better ones for the time
Definitely alive. Great pace and a good mix of lyrics and music
Kind of liked this 'less aggressive ' rap. Voice and music did well together
Very suitable background for today's chilly, rainy day
This group takes your mind places
The music rides with you. It's not in your face, or somewhere behind you. It's riding as you go along
Not what I expected.
A level of sassiness that was fresh for the 70's
Emo shout-rock. Pretty good as an example
Such wonderful rhythm and skills. Great to listen to on a coldish Friday morning
Loved the vocals and music here. Made me look into other stuff they do. Will be listening to more.
Strong vocals. Was not a bad listen...
Would have been unique for the time. Seems a bit nostalgic for now
Nice synth pop
Solid singer, reasonable instrumental background
The band certainly lives up to it's name: Crass Very little to like here. Shock rock being shock rock, I guess
Very fresh sound for the time. Holds up well
Great mix of vocals and instruments. My favorite type of metal
Surprisingly easy to enjoy. Not what I expected
Very deft guitar work, well-matched to the story telling.
Gwen Stefani really rocks
Well paced for prog rock.
Not bad. No lasting impression
Nice vocals and appropriate instruments
I imagine if you were in the mood to listen to this type of music, it would be good for you. Can't say I was.
Simple arrangement backed by solid vocals. Will look for more from the civil wars....
What one would expect from Queen B
