Amazing voice. Loved the screaming parts while the saxophone is blaring out with Little Richard. So many songs you just want to twist and shout too.
Fantastic album
Fantastic album. Great vibes
As soon as sexy boy starts playing it makes you feel as the title says.
Great for a walk or while trying to get to sleep
Billy Corgan’s vocals here made me shout OH! numerous times. With the exceptional guitar work and gut punching drums this is an almost perfect album. Just a bit to long for me at 2 hours
One of my favourite Hip hop albums.
The way this is made just with sampling is mind blowing. Incredible
How can an album from 1990 still sound futuristic. Amazing synths all over this album.
Every song is catchy with Enjoy the silence being my favourite
Very good album. Great 30 minutes of songs. Otis’ voice is fantastic and the big band playing with him complement him perfectly.
Respect, My Girl and Wonderful world are all bangers. Satisfaction really surprised me. Excellent cover
Wasn’t a big fan of the faster paced songs. Bit to similar to The Beatles for me. LOVED the slower songs. Bridge over troubled water, The boxer and Song for the asking are just lovely
One of the best debut albums ever made. So raw and real. Using British language and phrases makes the lyrics very relatable. Perfect album, no skips and will always be a favourite
Really enjoyed this. Had only heard the song Heroes before giving the whole album a spin. Beauty and the Beast and The Secret Life of Arabia were also great songs. Really enjoyed the ambient section later on too, which isn’t normally my vibe.
Not a fan. The beats were ok at best but the lyrics never really hooked me.
Very horny album
Not my favourite Beatles album by a long shot but there were some little songs on here. The title track starts the album in a perfect way with the first chord setting the vibe.
Can’t buy me love is another classic.
The harmonica playing on I Should Have Known Better was amazing. A great “new” find
Ive always been a fan of a few Wings songs like Live and Let Die and Band on the Run but never listened to any records until now. This has been my favourite of the year so far. Amazing vibes on this album. Jet is such a great classic rock song, the little guitar riff during Let me Roll it, the ditty piano melody on Nineteen hundred are all amazing and really good ear worms.
Will definitely be in rotation for a while to come and looking forward to more Wings
Great electronic album. Little bit repetitive with simple lyrics but great production
Really fun album. The little skits in-between songs was a great touch too. Will definitely be back to this one. Even though it is 90 minutes long, the time just flew
Fairly standard Elvis Costello album.
Love his voice and there are some catchy songs on this. Cant see myself going back for a full listen though
One of the best of all time. Every song is great, even the slower tracks have great guitar sounds and Ozzys singing is unique. No one else could do what Ozzy does. Love this album and is one of my favourites
WOW. I was not expecting that. I’ve always assumed Manic street preachers music was pop rock. But this album ROCKS. The guitars, drums and the vocals are all great. Very pleasantly surprised
Had a few banger I’m familiar with like Nothing Else Matters and Enter Sandman. But everything else on this album is also amazing. The Unforgiven and Wherever I May Roam were both highlights for me. Excited to listen to more Metallica
Amazing album. Previously listened to Depression Cherry and thought it was ok but nothing special. This album is something special
The opening “suite” was incredible. One of the best 20 minutes “songs” you can possibly listen too. Spacey parts, unbelievable guitar playing and great vocals too.
The rest of the album don’t really carry on with the great start with more ballety songs. Could probably get to like the with more listens
Good in parts but not my favourite by Fiona. The bolt cutters is still number 1 for me
Of it’s time. Some good songs but I can’t see myself going back to this one
Not a big fan of the vocals. But the guitar sounds were something special. How they get the guitar to sound like it’s screaming is something else. Great punk record but need more listens
Wasn’t expecting much from this but was pleasantly surprised. The secondhand is better than the first but maybe more listens will change my mind
Another great album discovered.
Didn’t know this is what Trip hop is. The amount of little micro samples really brought an extra layer to the production of the record.
Will definitely be return to this and maybe even pitching my brothers vinyl
This is the Smiths I’ve been waiting for. After listening to a few record I didn’t get the hype and Morrissey’s voice was more annoying than anything else.
This album was different. Loved his voice, loved the more mellower songs and loved Jonny Marr of the string as per
Some great songs here. Never heard of Tim before this. Who would have thought that his son Jeff would make great music too.
Loved the Jazz vibes here
Great storytelling throughout the album. The intro using news clips of 2Pac getting shot and leaving the hospital really helped set the tone. Another song in which he raps about death, his mother and the world being against him were all great too.
Really liked his rapping style aswel. Looking forward to more 2Pac albums
Wasn’t a big fan of the fist half but the last 3 song were incredible. The last 3 songs were almost completely instrumental so maybe that why I enjoyed them more with a bit lesss going on in the mix
Some really cool moments of drums, saxophone and trumpet but nothing really grabbed my attention. Can’t see myself returning to this one
INCREDIBLE. Not just the hits like Wonderwall and Don’t look back in anger but the deep cuts, like Hello, She’s electric and cast no shadow.
Champagne Supernova is a fantastic closer. They second Why, why, why? before the guitar solo does something to me deep within my soul. 5 stars 10/10. A+
Electric guitars, pummelling drums and screaming vocals make for a non stop album that kicks you in the teeth from the opening song. The tempo continues throughout the whole record and is so much fun to listen too.
Was a mistake to listen before bed
Fun, fun, fun.
Really enjoyed this one. Great start to the album with Buffalo Sauce and the good songs keep coming. The Next Generation was another favourite.
Looking forward to more Neneh
One of my favourite dance albums. Amazing production, great vocals and some timeless classics.
The world is a poorer place without Keith Flint and The Prodigy in it
I did enjoy this album. Some amazing guitar solos on some songs. However it didn’t really grab me like I thought it would after the first 2 songs
Some nice vocals but didn’t leave much of an impression on me. Could get better with more listens
I’ve been listening to a lot of Bad Bunny recently in the run up to the half time show at the Super Bowl. His music vocally hasn’t done much for me and I thought it was because of the language I didn’t understand. Well this album being sung in French has made me second guess my thoughts about foreign language music. I enjoyed this a bit even though with some of the avant guard music choices
Richard Ashcroft and the bad just don’t get the credit they deserve on this. Overshadowed by Oasis and Blur when this came out but this stand along side and better than some of their albums.
Bittersweet Symphony is worth giving this a listen on its own. Lucky Man, The Drugs don’t work and Sonnet are also bangers.
Will be back to this one time and time again. Incredible
Really lovely album with some great funky songs. Liked the laid back, smooth vibe of this one
Really boring. Won’t be going back to this. An hour and 4 minutes and 22 songs and I wasn’t a fan of any of them
A few great songs like one and even better than the real thing. But nothing else grabbed me. I did like the album but it didn’t blow me away
Amazing album. Loved all of it. Heard Brothers in Arms before so knew what to expect a little. Great vocals all over this and lovely guitar solos sprinkled throughout. Will 100% be back to this one
Janis Joplin’s vocals are incredible. Heard a few songs of hers but never a full album listen. The band and her play off each other perfectly. Great screeching guitars throughout and some really catchy songs. Ball and Chain was my favourite
Fantastic record. Loved the longer songs with the guitars walls of noise.
I’ve heard this album grows which I am looking forward to. I did like this but it didn’t blow me away like some other albums have so far
The rap verses being exchanged between Chuck and Flavor make this a unique album. Some great samples too. The flash one used in Terminator X was amazing. Will definitely be back to this one
I liked a few songs. Mainly the ones sang by the female member of the group. The male vocalist just didn’t do it for me.
Also there were a few songs that had good parts and then completely changed to a different vibe and killed my enjoyment. A few also had strange time signatures that I couldn’t get into
Ugh. Really repetitive for my tastes. An hour was way too long.
Food for Thought was the highlight along with the saxophone playing just didn’t enjoy each song sounding so similar :(
Really enjoyed the vibes here. The Sitar playing is incredible. However, I felt like I needed a bit more structure and melody. Even though the introduction told me there wouldn’t be. Dádrà was amazing and fast paced throughout. The other songs didn’t quite reach the same level
Incredible rap album. Loved the skits, loved the clear, colourful and story driven lyrics. Made me imagine a visual with some on the lines.
Best sampling I’ve heard on a rap album. 100% will be revisiting this one. BANGER
Great vibes here. Frank sings in 1 maybe 2 songs. When the guitar and drums are as catchy as they are here, who needs vocals. Willie the Pimp followed by Son Of Mr. Green Genes blew my brain.
There is a LOT of Frank Zappa to discover which is a little intimidating but if there is more like this, I’m in
Great album. Liked the mix of soft rock and some songs being a bit heavier. Didn’t like get the “story” on the album.
The little I’ve heard of The Who (Qaudrophenia) was more riff heavy. This was less show and I few songs did sound rather similar
Little mixed on this one. Other than the hits I already knew like Money, money, money or Fernando, nothing really grabbed me. Tiger was kinda catchy though.
The mixing here also started to hurt my ears after the first couple of songs.
Maybe I need another listen for it to grow on me
Off The Wall >>>>> Thriller
What an amazing album. All killer and no filler.
Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough might be the best album opener I’ve heard so far.
Best it’s not just the incredible disco songs that are great. The more somber songs like She’s Out of My Life and I Can’t Help It are amazing too.
I’ll be back to this one for years to come
Really nice vibes on this. Always been a bit daunted by getting into Bobs records and never knew where to start. I’m happy this was my first experience. Really catchy songs, great vocals and the harmonica backing up some songs is great variety.
Looking forward to more
Man this album has me confused and torn of how to rate it. I loved some of the sounds on this and can see how it was so influential on so many bands.
However 43 songs spread over almost 75 minutes is just too much for me. If 20 minutes of filler could have been cut and the track list been 15 songs this would be getting a 5 out of 5.
Hopefully another records have better pacing a longer songs with no guff In between
My second Depeche Mode album and it’s another great one. I didn’t enjoy it as much as Violator though.
The synths here give the record a much darker feel than I was anticipating. Never Let Me Down Agian was my favourite and the Aggro Mix really lets the synths shine
That was crazy. Going to give that another spin on my next run. Should get me going at a quicker pace.
Really wierd album. A few great songs. If only the majority of the album was like these songs, it’ll be getting a higher rank. However I can’t see myself going back to this for a repeat listen
Ummmm. Been digesting this one for 24 hours before reviewing. I liked it but I think I need to be in a specific mood for it to work for me. I did like a few songs especially Olsen olsen.
Would be interested in listening to more
Fantasy album. Never been a fan of any Springsteen’s big hits. However this album has made me realise I’ve been missing out. Amazing voice and great guitars.
Looking forward to more of Bruce
Nothing special here for me but did enjoy a few songs. Can’t see myself going back to this one
Very unique singing voice on Scott. The same as with Cat Steven’s though. Nothing that really grabbed me
Amazing rap record. Loved it.
The storytelling, clear lyrics and infectious beats made this one of my favourite rap albums on the list so far.
Wasn’t expecting a song with Nelly Furtado do be my favourite but Thin Line slaps. Great vibes here
Little bit mixed on this one. I actually preferred more of the instrumental tracks here rather than the songs in which Bobby is singing.
I did love the song Kowalski with the history of the radio station. Will be back for another listen
Having a hard time rating this one. On the one hand I really like some of the songs like Reaching Out and This Woman’s Work. It’s also unarguable that Kate Bush has an amazing voice.
BUT three times I’ve listened to this and three times I’ve fallen asleep. And I’m fine with that if that’s the vibe of the album 🤷🏻♂️
Amazing album. This is the perfect album for a late night relaxing in bed. Carole’s voice is incredible and paired with acoustic guitars, flutes and pianos makes the perfect mix.
If I was to give this another spin, I wouldn’t skip a song. It’s to late or a natural woman are my top 2 but it’s hard to pick just 1 favourite
Great album. Got a little bit lost in the middle but the first 3 songs and last 3 songs are fantastic. If the whole album had similar baselines and guitar throughout this would be another 5 out of 5.
Loved this one. There is something about a roc band with a female singer that just makes the music sound better for some reason.
Some amazing songs here Car Song, SOFT and especially Connection. Been stuck in my head ever since I listened. Excited to listen to more Elastica
Well, well, well. For such an awful and sad man these days, Morrissey does actually make good music without the Smiths.
Very much enjoyed this. Great vibes on this. Speedway is a powerhouse of a closer which made me shout holy shit at the start. Never thought I’d say it but looking forward to more
Banger after banger after banger. Fantastic album.
It’s a no skip for me. Guitar shredding never sounded better. I’ll never get bored of Sweet Child O’ Mine, Welcome to the Jungle and Paradise City. But the deep cuts like Nightrain and You’re Crazy are great too.
Loved it
Lovely voice but insanely boring. All the songs sounded the same. Black Crow is the only song I liked
Really enjoyed this one. The three live songs added at the end of the album were a great addition with the extra riffs and solos.
La Grange is an absolute classic and now I can add Jesus Just Left Chicago to the classic list too
About as close to perfect as you can get.
The way Jeff can sing quietly and somber and then belt out a chorus within the same song. The pianos, guitars, drums and saxophones are all amazing and add so much to the album.
Will forever be a favourite. Would rate higher if I could. Long remembered Jeff Buckley and Grace
Fantastic sound on this. More than a feeling is an absolute classic and a great way to open the album. 37 minutes hasn’t gone by so fast in a long time. Will be listening to more Boston
Not for me. Bit too experimental for my taste. Dropout Boogie lived up to its name and did like another couple of songs but I can’t see myself returning to this one
I don’t know if it’s because I was lying in bed chillaxing, or because Sheryl has such a lovely and distinctive voice. But this album was a very enjoyable time. Some slow sad songs like No One Said It Would Be Easy and some certified bangers like All I Wanna Do.
Fair play Sheyl. I was unfamiliar with your game
Had to give this one a couple of listens to form an opinion which has been rare so far. I’ve come to the conclusion that this album is amazing. The chilled out songs here are really good. Neil’s voices works perfectly on songs like Round & Round. But his voices also sounds great on the more upbeat songs like the INCREDIBLE Down By The River which is my favourite from this album. The guitars solos throughout the song really make it a stand out on the album. VERY GOOD
I’m on a great run atm. So many great albums being thrown my way and this one is another banger. Wasn’t the biggest fan when I listened the first time but a second listen has firmly made this a 5 star for me.
I loved 6 of the 10 songs and liked the rest. Stevie does slow emotional songs really well but the funky songs are where this album shines. Boogie on Reggae woman was the highlight for me
Standard Queen album
And that standard is amazing. Never listened to this before unlike Queen 2, Night at the opera, Day at the races and News of the World which I love.
What a way to start an album with Brighton Rock. OMG. Killer Queen also kicks arse and Flick of the wrist is amazing too. More Queen records I haven’t heard please
Some great driving beats with saxophone, trumpet and piano working well together but nothing revolutionary. I liked it but probably won’t be back
