1001 Albums Summary

I really liked this album, simple instrumental and loops for the most part but still fun to listen to. I could hear Sultans of Swing inspiration in multiple songs.

Bob Dylan is a great visionary but. His vocal range is just so monotone sounding almost spoken word much of the time

This album is short but good. Lots of filler though there are some straight classics on this album

So far really getting a more commercial radio vibe from this album, it’s almost too safe and boring. After reading that this was a move to being more of a radio friendly sound it makes sense. Not a bad album but largely uninspiring and lot of repetitive hooks and choruses that feel like many songs should end 30 seconds before it’s over. A couple of good hits and nice guitar solos but this one is pretty average for me.

I have listened to this album many times before. No skips for me. I learned that ot is a compilation of unreleased songs from various points throughout their recording career, so much variation it truly is an incredible album

Pretty basic 80’s rock album some good hits but not memorable

This album is really fun. I’m not super knowledgeable about Latin music but this is great. Upbeat but sooooo smooth and chill, just makes me want to sit outside a bodega on a hot day and drink light beer.

Kinda boring honestly

Pretty typical sounding early 80s solo artist album to me. Not amazing but some nice vocals and production. Upbeat and a little funky too

This was actually a really fun album. Lots of emotion without being overbearing. Production is on point as well

This reminds me of Gabe’s soundscapes in The Office. I could go on a drive in a hover car with this on repeat

Seems like one of those albums that’s on here just for context, the only good thing about this isomer the guitar work, even then it’s not that great

Sounds like a generic rock stuck between the late 70s and 80s. Good mix of both styles

Basic early 80s “metal” not bad but not stand out for me

I like this. Lots of bluegrass and country elements in the background. Nobody plays the piano like Steely Dan

If Adele was born in the mid-late 1900s, I can tell Adele probably listened to a Dusty Springfield album or two. She seems to face a lot of heartbreak but otherwise great vocals and backing music.

This is good but some of the riffs and bass lines can be a bit repetitive but some good classics in this one. I haven’t listened to a ton of Red Hot Chili Peppers before but I’m enjoying a lot of the deep cuts

This is ok, Mariah is very talented but most of this doesn’t hit for me

This album is great for a debut album. I would give it 5 but there is a bit too much filler on this which makes the album flow kinda drag at points. Amazing ton of hits on this one though

This is good, I like a lot of the more experimental stuff and the more jazz inspired musical style. Overall I enjoyed it

Amazing vocal talent and great songwriting. Never heard of Joan before but glad I was introduced to her, this is what this list is supposed to be about. Love the blues/country influence as well. Totally hear what could have influenced Tracy Chapman.
