Marvin Gaye
4/5
A step into what issues of the time would inspire someone to explore their sentiments with music and a sobering reminder that not much has changed in the over half-century since its release.
The White Stripes
4/5
Crunchy rock-and-roll garage energy helped cement The White Stripes as a band emblematic of the style and always due for a relisten.
Beatles
4/5
As someone whose experience with the Beatles is restricted to the inescapable and infectious early pop hits and the endlessly parodied eccentricities of the members themselves, The White Album provides an eye-opening range of musical styles showcasing what the Beatles are and can be. What feels more like a compilation of eclectic artists, this album is an enjoyable portfolio of work that can be enjoyed with the band's catalogue as a whole or just as perfectly as a standalone musical event.
Elton John
4/5
An enjoyable cross-section of Elton John's work (Jamaica Jerk-Off notwithstanding).
Led Zeppelin
4/5
Full of the band's signature songs, this album proves why Led Zeppelin has persisted and stayed iconic and forever discussed in the best artist conversations.
The Strokes
4/5
Their full debut kicked off with the band's groovy, crunchy rock sound, combining melodic flows and toothsome pulses.
David Bowie
4/5
I'm not sure that I really know David Bowie, but being that this album was his last gift before returning to wherever he was from, I'm inspired to find out.
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
3/5
While I'm in no way qualified to fully enjoy it, I did still enjoy this album and even more so after researching just enough to see the layers even if don't grasp the significance.
Blondie
4/5
Fun rock and roll album that features songs that aren't just from movies or commercials from 30 years ago.
Paul McCartney
3/5
Did not resonate with me; no song felt truly memorable.
Fats Domino
4/5
A high energy and infectious album that gets us ready for full on rock and roll fever.
Neil Young
3/5
Melodic and poetic, but this Neil Young just isn't doing it for me.
Moby
3/5
A fun ride surfing the tidal energy's ebb and flow from track to track
Beastie Boys
3/5
Enduring debut for the rap/rock/hip-hop legends infectiously celebrating being a shithead
Aerosmith
2/5
A halfway decent hair metal album mired by skeezy lyrics and the occasionally dissonant instrumentals
Daft Punk
3/5
Basic in terms of what we've come to expect from the artist, but a foundational debut that includes the steady beats and loops, house and techno vibes that set the stage for future releases.
Love
3/5
Very enjoyable album featuring the beginnings of jazz rock. More jazz flute!
Air
4/5
An extremely enjoyable album with such chill electronica soundscapes that I am surprised I have never listened to the artist before
Alexander 'Skip' Spence
3/5
The folk-rock sound was pleasant, but the meandering nature and religious iconography, as well as a general feeling of waywardness, gave an underwhelming experience that never seemed to get going.

Burning Spear
3/5
Unfortunately I don't have the cultural context to begin to appreciate this album beyond how it sounds and what limited amount of importance I'm able to glean, and the fact that I'm not a huge fan of reggae doesn't help anything
