Popular Reviews

Vulnicura by Björk

How the fuck does this have an average score below 3?! This album is a masterpiece. This lady is heartbroken, and you're giving low scores because she's interesting? (I assume). I'm sorry that it's too challenging for you Men. Anyhow, it's not my absolute favourite Björk album but it's deffo up there. Just heartbreaking and gorgeous with those beautiful strings xx

m b v by My Bloody Valentine

If you're gonna make indecipherable music at least try and make it sound nice. I just put it on in the background. Where is the love x

Celebrity Skin by Hole

Love a bit of Courtney fr fr. Heard a good amount of Hole before, but was my first time listening to this album all the way through. Really good! Some of the songs towards the end got a little shouty, but the mix of pop and grunge is very welcome, as opposed to just grunge. Everything in moderation I say x

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane

It's got 2 fantastic singles on and the rest of the songs are also pretty good. Hehe

I Should Coco by Supergrass

Aye it was better than their other album I'll give them that. Not really my kinda thing but it's fine. It's fineee.

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Mar 05 2026

Well good I thought. Best songs are Visions, Living for the City and Higher Ground, but there wasn't a bad song on the thing! Good start

Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
Mar 06 2026

I've heard the singles off this album before. Lots of good stuff here, mayhaps a touch samey when played as an album. Best song of the new ones to me is Working on the Highway.

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Mar 07 2026

Yawnnnn! Nice and short at least, but twas just 33 minutes of lift music.

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Mar 08 2026

Always nice to hear Janis Jopping, but I think a lot of this album is missing the intensity I like from her. There's some obvious highlights (Turtle Blues is very good and I hadn't heard it before) but yeah not sure about her with the band

Arrival by ABBA
Mar 09 2026

I love all of these songs more than my own children. Truly firing on all cylinders. Going from When I Kissed the Teacher to Dancing Queen is a stroke of pure genius. Absolutely love it x

If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Mar 10 2026

Some good songs I know and one or two that are new to me that I liked. Generally samey, and the cover of Spanish Harlem going "lala lala" throughout annoyed me. Generally good tho

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Mar 11 2026

Second half of this album is better than the first. Enjoy the "Wake up" song from the Tommy Lee Royce nice gay play, and the final song from the blizzard first half. Can't always tell what he's saying and it's not the music I love, but good array of instruments and styles to keep me engaged.

A Date With The Everly Brothers by The Everly Brothers
Mar 12 2026

All rather samey, no real bangerz and it's all a bit "why won't me bird kiss me". We need something exciting at least once I think x

Bug by Dinosaur Jr.
Mar 13 2026

Well, 9/10 of these songs was just silly indie music that should be in the background of some teen film or Gavin and Stacey. Nice guitars I guess. However the song called "Don't" was fab, just screaming over and over again. Not enough to raise it into a pass I'm afraid x

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Mar 14 2026

Second Arcade Fire album already! Prefer this one to the first, great first 5 songs (best is Intervention, like a good organ) but it drops off a bit at Ocean of Noise. Not as good after that U C, that song was much too obvious. Still solid though

Mama's Gun by Erykah Badu
Mar 15 2026

She's got a lovely wee voice and it's all very easy to listen to. Would be nice to have on with a car ride with ar Stephanie. But at 75 mins it does go on a wee bit, would maybe rate higher if it was 45 mins. Overall solid tho

Water From An Ancient Well by Abdullah Ibrahim
Mar 16 2026

Nice background music, but that's all it is for me. Where's the drama x

Disintegration by The Cure
Mar 17 2026

Got this album this morning and went "ugh". I finished all 72 minutes of it and thought "not half bad". Some highlights (Pictures of You), but it's not really my musical style. Regardless, tis good, better than their poppy singles.

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Mar 18 2026

His best song is "Just give a kidney, to a father or a dad", and that wasn't on this album for some reason. Really disliked the singing on this in the morning but the backing band is great! Some great wee tunes, but lacklustre writing and ok singing performance. Overall good

Walking Wounded by Everything But The Girl
Mar 19 2026

Ooooo one I really like! Not familiar with their electronic stuff much before today, but I was having a right groovy old time here. Love the juxtaposition of electronic music and Tracey Thorn's voice, creates a chill but still boppy vibe.

Lam Toro by Baaba Maal
Mar 20 2026

I appreciated this album for it's wide use of instruments and varying wee songs. I enjoyed my time and think it's rather good, but I'm not gonna listen to it again. A change is as good as a rest though, far better than the usual boring men x

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Mar 21 2026

Groovy baby! Coulda done with 1 or 2 more bangers, coz nothing else compares with the first song

Suede by Suede
Mar 22 2026

Fucking BORINGGG every song is the sameeeee shut up

First time listening to a PJ Harvey album. Love this gal, but I'm reluctant to give this a 5 because I think she's gonna have freakier stuff. Some fantastic songs on here, good horse content.

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly
Mar 25 2026

Nice Simpsons song, mid rest of it yaknow. Bring the drama divas x

Peter Gabriel by Peter Gabriel
Mar 26 2026

The only Peter Gabriel solo album here not to feature Kate, smh. This album is best when it leans into prog and operatic vibes, and less so when in the middle songs where it feels a tad dull. All albums should have a song called Moribund the Burgermeister though.

Here, My Dear by Marvin Gaye
Mar 27 2026

She took the kids 💔 literally get a grip. Build a bridge and get over it you know what I mean x Each and every one of these songs sounds the same as all of the others. Far too long. Give us some bops diva

Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone
Mar 28 2026

Nina Simone is pure perfection, you feel every word she sings, and her piano playing is next to none. Truly one of the best performers of all time. She is woefully underrepresented in this list. I think she has better albums than this, but I just die for Nina singing any song really. Beautiful piece of music

Apocalypse Dudes by Turbonegro
Mar 29 2026

Was expecting some rhythm and blues, got some reet dull 90s rock. Ew. Not the one for me. Looked them up on Wikipedia and became more annoyed lol. Does not deserve to be on the list.

Superunknown by Soundgarden
Mar 30 2026

God I miss the days of vinyl records. The invention of CDs was truly terrible, because it means that albums don't have to stop at the 45 minute mark. This woulda done so much better if it was condensed. It's got some nice tunes. Almost passes.

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Mar 31 2026

Went in with low expectations and found myself rather nicely surprised. Funny! Nicely paced lyrics so you could anticipate the rhyme, and was caught off guard by some genuinely fabulous lines. Fun!!

m b v by My Bloody Valentine
Apr 01 2026

If you're gonna make indecipherable music at least try and make it sound nice. I just put it on in the background. Where is the love x

...The Dandy Warhols Come Down by The Dandy Warhols
Apr 02 2026

They forgot to put the banger from Flushed Away on this album. For shame. Also if they chopped this album at 45 mins maybe I would have passed it. The final 20 mins were a true slog.

Lost Souls by Doves
Apr 03 2026

I had a nice walk around the reservoir whilst listening to this album which probably helped, but it did have nice tunes and wasn't drowned out by electric guitar. Probably a smidge too long but not awfully long. Wilmslow represent.

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
Apr 04 2026

It's got 2 fantastic singles on and the rest of the songs are also pretty good. Hehe

American Pie by Don McLean
Apr 05 2026

2 of the best songs in this album. Discovered some other good ones here. Some of them felt a wee bit like repeats but yaknow the good outweighs the bad by a long shot.

Live At Leeds by The Who
Apr 06 2026

Hmmmm I don't think so babes! Just guitars and drums and waiting for things to happen.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Apr 07 2026

Nice to see Cameron Diaz in the album list. Nice easy listening with the best song saved til the end. Not too long. Can't see myself listening again.

A Walk Across The Rooftops by The Blue Nile
Apr 08 2026

Never heard of it before but really enjoyed this one! Great vibes and songs were all a good length (they suit the slower vibe of some of the music without droning on too long). He's got a lovely voice. Almost gave it a 5. Second listen confirms it as a 4

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Apr 09 2026

First Beatles album. This one feels rather "easy listening" which isn't a bad thing, but isn't great either. I prefer when they do more drugs and such. I feel like the songs are so short that they never get meaty enough for my liking, which I know isn't true for all of the Beatles stuff. There wasn't a bad song on here until the end when we decided to kill our bird. Fucks sake.

Heroes by David Bowie
Apr 10 2026

Really nice album, with one half of pop songs and one half really good instrumental. Nice improvised vibe to it, makes it feel free. Well done Bowie love.

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Apr 11 2026

I think my view of who The Doors were was rather incorrect. I was expecting dull mopey songs (coz I only knew Riders of the Storm going in and such). This had some right bops (best one is Land Ho!) and a great rock and/or roll vibe. Lovely surprise!

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Apr 12 2026

Big up Macclesfield and all that and I'm sorry you died Ian, but this is rather dull I'm afraid. No rizz. Boring man music that I think people like because of the album cover. Makes a cool t shirt I guess

Vulnicura by Björk
Apr 13 2026

How the fuck does this have an average score below 3?! This album is a masterpiece. This lady is heartbroken, and you're giving low scores because she's interesting? (I assume). I'm sorry that it's too challenging for you Men. Anyhow, it's not my absolute favourite Björk album but it's deffo up there. Just heartbreaking and gorgeous with those beautiful strings xx

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Apr 14 2026

Mixed bag, but overall a good bag. The parts where it was just Neil Young on the mic were the best (coz he's obviously got a proper standout voice). Helpless was a standout, alongside Woodstock by Joni which I didn't know was on this. Songs varied in quality but were never awful. Nice!

Boy In Da Corner by Dizzee Rascal
Apr 15 2026

Okay I swear I gave this a good chance, but it was honestly like 2 phone ringtones going off at the same time whilst a cockerney complained about whores in the background. I know that Mr Rascal has many a hit song after this where the music is incorporated with the rapping (B B B b B B Bonkers and such), so clearly he made his music more appealing to me later on. I hated this tho, couldn't understand what was being said coz the music in the background annoyed me, so got the worst of both worlds.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Apr 16 2026

Love Dolly, but I usually listen to her hits rather than full albums. This album is a nice time, but you know that the hits are Coat of Many Colors and Here I Am. The rest are nice but unmemorable really. Still a nice listen of course.

Illmatic by Nas
Apr 17 2026

Didn't do a lot for me obviously. I read some of the reviews on here and they're all like "This really captures the spirit of 90s New York", which is also what people said about the film Caught Stealing. I've come to the conclusion that I don't want to be anywhere near 90s New York, it seems a terrible place! I would rather spend my time in nicer surrounds.

Sea Change by Beck
Apr 18 2026

"It must be nice to be a man and make boring music just because you can" ~ Florence Welch (who is missing from the list) Didn't mind this! Very nice actual music. Couldn't really tell what he was moaning on about, but it didn't distract from just listening to the music in the background. Good!

461 Ocean Boulevard by Eric Clapton
Apr 19 2026

The album has "Let it Grow" on there. Didn't know Eric Clapped-out did the music for The Lorax. This was rather uninteresting music apart from I Shot The Sheriff, which I knew to be a cover. Looked this up on Wikipedia and they're mostly covers! What is the point of this. It's not awful, but not good enough to pass.

A Seat at the Table by Solange
Apr 20 2026

Don't think I've ever heard Solange Knowles sing before but I really enjoyed this album. Nice and eclectic. The interludes I thought added a great deal, broke up the songs and was a nice way to introduce the next number. Lovely voice.

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Apr 21 2026

It's nice music and the title track is great. Flute mixes well with the rock. Reminds me of Christmas because they have the Christmas song. Wasn't really in the mood for this today though, and it got a wee bit samey I fear.

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Apr 22 2026

Banger after banger. Hadn't heard the album in it's entirety before but twas a great time. "Keep the Customers Satisfied" is an all time banger. Great time!

Let It Be by The Replacements
Apr 23 2026

Never heard of this before. This peaked in the middle rather with the Androgyny and the Unsatisfied song rather, which is better than peaking early. It had aspects of stuff from 10 years after it's release, which I guess means it's visionary or something, but I don't like the 90s stuff yaknow solo. Overall enough good to give it a pass though and a good length.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Apr 24 2026

Never listened to Radiohead properly, but thought that it was generally dull music for dull people. Still, I was ready to have my mind changed today. There were flashes of interesting music and ideas, but no single song grabbed me particularly. So this doesn't get a passing grade today, but I want to keep my mind open for the next album of theirs on the list.

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Apr 25 2026

The first half was a bit stronger than the second, but it was all very listenable rather. At least 4 songs that I think could make it onto my list. No Black Widow Baby tho, must be on a different album

Dog Man Star by Suede
Apr 26 2026

The last song on this album was absolutely cracker. There were some generally more pleasant songs focusing on the piano occasionally. However, most of it was the grungy (meaning more of a general descriptor rather than of the music genre) rubbish that their other album on here consisted entirely of. So it can have 2 stars from me, but much better than their other album (but this one was longerrrr)

In It For The Money by Supergrass
Apr 27 2026

Hmmmmmmmmm thought this would be more fun (based on the Alright song you know the one). Far more bland and Britpop than I was hoping for, but did have interesting parts. Hmmmmmmmmm. Yeah 2 seems right.

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
Apr 28 2026

Some lovely tunes. Nice time. But I couldn't just listen to this on it's own with nothing else to do yaknow. It's background music to me because there's not enough highs and lows. But it is nice stuff.

Apr 29 2026

I fully comprehend that this album is quite early for new wave, and will therefore be described as an influential and important album. I'm just seeing if I like the albums or not, and I wasn't wowed by this. Just quite a lot of noise with talk singing in the background. Ew. But there were some interesting musical choices sometimes

The Sensual World by Kate Bush
Apr 30 2026

I mean, it's Kate Bush, it automatically gets 5 stars. Well that's not quite true. This album is just a collection of fantastic songs, like a songbook, but isn't as thematically consistent as some of her masterpieces. Regardless, her songs are so good that they blow most other albums here out of the water. Forever and always my queen.

Arular by M.I.A.
May 01 2026

Nice! Nice eclectic tunes rather and some great lines from MIA. It's the kinda music to inject vaccines to x. The one issue I have is that the songs all go on too long for me, because they don't have highs and lows and such, just feels slightly repetitious after a bit x

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
May 02 2026

I think there's a reason that almost all of these songs are famous rather. Oh Amy, how the men in your life failed you x

Tidal by Fiona Apple
May 03 2026

This album is great. The vibes are great and very consistent throughout. Ar Fiona has a lovely voice and the songs are dreamy rather.

Bad Company by Bad Company
May 04 2026

This was totally listenable to and fine. Had a little dance around, was a good length, no awful songs. Really nothing revolutionary, but good!

May 06 2026

Why can't you just make nice music that sounds good and an album that is an appropriate length? For goodness sakes. I can't relate to this on any level, what emotions am I supposed to get from this screaming? Fuck knows. Fred Durst came on to shout some slurs, that was a nice intermission. Any gays that listen to this.... electric chair.

Goodbye And Hello by Tim Buckley
May 07 2026

He's a pretty man and I like his folksy musics. Nice harmonica and medieval vibe. Sue me!

Grace by Jeff Buckley
May 08 2026

I had his wee dad yesterday! Now Jeff today! (Who wouldn't gladly have both, you know what I'm sayinnnnnn) Hmm interesting. Thought I would enjoy this more than I did really. Was at its best with Lilac Wine and Hallelujah, and I wonder if that's because I already knew them, and they were more stripped back instrumentally. The more radioheadish parts of this aren't my jam. Hoyever, it's gonna get a pass because he's got a good voice.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
May 09 2026

I ummed and aaaaaahed over this, but I'm gonna give it 5 stars. Every song sung by a woman is fantastic on here, and it contains most of my favourite Fleetwood Mac songs. There's an occasional dud by a man, but I think the quality outweighs the middling 3 songs x

Crocodiles by Echo And The Bunnymen
May 10 2026

It's absolutely fine.

Ananda Shankar by Ananda Shankar
May 11 2026

Quite liked the Rolling Stones cover (because i like the original song), didn't like the 13 minute song (felt like a lot of nothing for a good amount of time), and the rest was meh. Doesn't feel essential and I was happy when it was over.

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
May 12 2026

Very good rock musics. For my personal taste, some of the instrumentals go on slightly too long, but I think that's a taste thing (or lack of it) on my part rather.

Djam Leelii by Baaba Maal
May 13 2026

I think I preferred the other album of Baaba Maals, but it's nice and fresh music, which I won't listen to again, but it is nice x

Lady In Satin by Billie Holiday
May 14 2026

Hiya Billie love. This album was a lovely time tbh, nice jazz songs. I prefer my jazz standards with some nice piano usually, but this is good too x

Dig Your Own Hole by The Chemical Brothers
May 15 2026

Better than I was expecting! Nicely orchestrated rather and good variation between songs. Some songs go on too long and a Gallagher turns up, so it can't be higher, but I was happy with this. It had a good understanding of the drama needed in a song, which many modern club beats fail to realise

Fragile by Yes
May 16 2026

Didn't know much Yes going into this, but as Zoe Saldana would say: "Yes Yes Yes!" Nice and progish without the use of too much going on, gives a real nice listening experience. First half was better than second.

Teen Dream by Beach House
May 17 2026

Every song goes on foreverrrrrr yawnnnnnn. Bloody indie music, just dull, just stop

Hot Shots II by The Beta Band
May 18 2026

Nice album art. Shame about the album. Dull.

London Calling by The Clash
May 19 2026

A nice surprise. I like the song about being lost in the supermarket because it's relatable to the everyday man (me).

Music From The Penguin Cafe by Penguin Cafe Orchestra
May 20 2026

I need to stop giving 5 star albums, but I knew this one would slay at least a bit based on the name and cover art. Really loved it though, have listened to it 4 times today. We come to the penguin café to laugh, to cry, to care, because we need that, all of us. These orchestrations capture some really interesting vibes that are difficult to describe but I can feel. Really cool stuff.

The Yes Album by Yes
May 21 2026

Surprisingly, the second side was better than the first. Some interesting stuff on this album eventually, but the first songs intro felt like being bonked on the head. Not the nice music I'm looking for xx

Celebrity Skin by Hole
May 22 2026

Love a bit of Courtney fr fr. Heard a good amount of Hole before, but was my first time listening to this album all the way through. Really good! Some of the songs towards the end got a little shouty, but the mix of pop and grunge is very welcome, as opposed to just grunge. Everything in moderation I say x

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
May 23 2026

First side has all the ones I like on it, second side is okay. There's better Bowie down the line, but it's still pretty good rather

Kid A by Radiohead
May 24 2026

Better than the other Radiohead album I had. It's interesting sounds, but I feel it's always leading to somewhere that it never gets to. Where's the oooompf?

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
May 25 2026

Love Sympathy for the Devil, enjoyed a good deal more of these wee songs as well, especially the Jigsaw one rather. Good lyrics.

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
May 26 2026

Surprisingly easy to listen to, not as hardcore as I was expecting, but nice all the same. The NIB song made me prick me ears up, but apart from that not really

Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson
May 27 2026

Thought this was gonna be better than it is, sad you died tho babe but stick a banger on there. Not even Melody Pond could help x

Rings Around The World by Super Furry Animals
May 28 2026

Going back and forth on this one. Some of it is pretty good, but it changes too often with no clear throughline of music or emotion. Some folks will be really into this. I was hovering between a 2 and a 3 but then they started whistling x

Broken English by Marianne Faithfull
May 29 2026

Marianne you ain't a traitor to good music fr fr. Didn't know all of these songs beforehand, enjoyed the witch one and the final one a lot, not sure about the Working Class Hero.

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
May 30 2026

Listened to this whilst playing Metroid Fusion because I lost my headphones so I had to play it out loud. It's a good time, but I don't really connect with it in any meaningful way, I don't feel the emotion. Clearly other people do though. I can still appreciate the talent though.

Billion Dollar Babies by Alice Cooper
May 31 2026

Pretty good time, but it lost me a little bit on the second side rather

The Poet by Bobby Womack
Jun 01 2026

First 4 songs were all time bangers 5/5 come on big up etc. the other 4 songs were OK, bit slow but not bad. It's between a 3 and a 4, and I'm gonna go for a 3 because my scores have been too high recently. Sorry love

Different Class by Pulp
Jun 02 2026

That Jarvis Cocker, he's reet randy. Truly the best (and the only tolerable) Britpop because it understands that music is to be danced to in the kitchen x

Close To You by Carpenters
Jun 03 2026

Not the best Carpenters album really. I find the Carpenters music interesting for how sad it is, and this one was a bit jolly for me. Karen Carpenter has, for me, perhaps the greatest voice of all time. Richard was also there. I'd have had Horizon or Now and Then or A Song For You on this list instead.

Wild Gift by X
Jun 04 2026

This started and I thought "ah yes. This is a bit of me" even though I had not heard it before. I'm afraid it wasn't really a bit of me, I couldn't find the heart in it. It's like Punk mixed with the beach boys, which sounds fun but ends up not being poppy enough or edgy enough.

Tank Battles by Dagmar Krause
Jun 05 2026

Bit difficult today because flying to Barcelona and it was only on YouTube. This was great though, very much up my alley. Cabaret music enthused with such sadness

Songs Of Leonard Cohen by Leonard Cohen
Jun 06 2026

Some really nice songs in here that I already knew, and some other ones that are quite good, butttt some others that sound really similar that aren't as good

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Jun 07 2026

Solid rock fare really. Nice easy listening but nothing too revolutionary rather. Bless.

The Predator by Ice Cube
Jun 08 2026

Okay I do feel bad for giving bad scores to all the 90s rap albums. It's just not my kind of thing. But this one had some good sections rather. I just don't really vibe with the antisemitism of it all and the having sex with women.

On The Beach by Neil Young
Jun 09 2026

This one wasn't really my vibe until the last two songs, which was more in line with the Neil Young that I like. The rest of it isn't bad, but I didn't find that it moved me in any way.

Pump by Aerosmith
Jun 10 2026

Some great pop rock hits in there isn't there? It feels a little oversexed and thus immature in sections, but the music itself is really good x

Jun 11 2026

Mr 50 Cent, congratulations on making a rap album with some nice musics in the background and even trying out some singing! Unfortunately Eminem did appear, which isn't good, but I shall give you a passing grade because it was better than I expected x

D by White Denim
Jun 12 2026

This would have been better if they had a better singer and stopped with the whole Disney Channel kids in a rock band in a basement vibe.

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Jun 13 2026

An instant 5 stars really. Pure opera, with bits that remind me of playing on the old Mega drive. Could have been 3 hours and I wouldn't have minded

It's Too Late to Stop Now by Van Morrison
Jun 14 2026

It's not an awful record, it was better than Live at Leeds. The recording is rather good and the instruments sound great, he sounds good. It's too long tho for me to fully vibe throughout tho

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill

Just grow up, for god's sake. I don't want to hear about your promiscuity or how much you hate gay people, just shut up. I have great concerns that the lack of quality music from the 90s may be due to a lack of Doctor Who. We may be going into another dark age folks x

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Jun 16 2026

Woah momma. Nice and short, gold voice and nice musics. There are better versions of these songs by other people sometimes, but as a a collective it's kinda good

Faust IV by Faust
Jun 17 2026

I'm a big appreciator of freaky shit, but it didn't induce any emotion in me. There was no real arc with the music, and it didn't sound nice enough to be good ambient music for me. Some good bits (and I appreciated the sounds of Dalek torture) but overall not a passing grade I'm afraid.

Trio by Dolly Parton
Jun 18 2026

A nice wee album that I already know quite well. I rather enjoy the fact that these 3 heavyweights come together and made something to melancholic, how bizarre but such a good move rather. Linda Ronstadt has one of my favourite voices, but the combination of the trio is also fabulous of course. Debated giving it a 5 x

Ace of Spades by Motörhead
Jun 19 2026

Not quite sure about the song "Jailbait and I just can't wait". Maybe that one could have been left on the cutting room floor rather darlings. It's a cohesive album (some may call samey) which is mostly nice and easy to listen to. Doesn't outstay it's welcome

Rio by Duran Duran
Jun 20 2026

I like a bit of Duran Duran, and I liked this. Indeed, I liked it. Rio is the highlight for me, and the other singles are good too, but I can't escape the vibe that all of these songs are the same. There are better electronic vibes from the 80s

G. Love And Special Sauce by G. Love & Special Sauce
Jun 21 2026

Listen, it's fine. It's OK. But I didn't like it and it's too long, but it didn't offend my ears. I wasn't grooving, so I'm gonna give it a 2 instead of a 3.

Dust by Screaming Trees
Jun 22 2026

Hmmm it wasn't as bad as I was anticipating based on the decade and the genre, some nice bits in the first half. The second half did little to excite me. Hmm I'll give it a pass tho

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Jun 23 2026

Starts well and ends well. The middle hmmm a bit blah

Happy Sad by Tim Buckley
Jun 24 2026

Started listening to this in the morning and did not care for it. Tried again later in the day and was far more kind. I think we've learned not to listen to the music early in the day. This album isn't as good as Tim Buckley's "Hello Goodbye", for I enjoy the more structured music found there. However, there's sufficient variety here to keep me happy

Heartbreaker by Ryan Adams
Jun 25 2026

Bit of a rollercoaster with this one. It started (didn't know who he was) and I was like "oh yes 5 stars, so emotional", but then he brought out the harmonica. Big mistake. Also it was too long, some of the songs got a bit samey towards the end. Then I found out who he was from the reviews. Yikes! Anyway it ends up being a 3

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Jun 26 2026

Just a bit too long for me, but I appreciate the boppiness of the music truly. The first track was my favourite rather

Jun 27 2026

Another jazz album today that I really rather liked. Went surprisingly quickly (because I'm concerned when there's only a few tracks that it'll feel like it's dragging) and it had a real sense of pacing and drama. Loved the drama in this.

Ten by Pearl Jam
Jun 28 2026

It's alright, some of the songs have a good flow, some of them are monotonous. Some of them are the right length, others keep repeating themselves for the sake of it. Some of them try to be better than grunge, some of them are just grunge.

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Jun 29 2026

Aye it was better than their other album I'll give them that. Not really my kinda thing but it's fine. It's fineee.

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Jun 30 2026

Quite interesting and inventive with fun sections rather and some jokes. Some bits annoyed me, also it was an hour x

Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Jul 01 2026

Finally, some bops fr fr. Very cohesive album that is full of good vibes x

Darklands by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Jul 02 2026

Is this one of the albums that you have to listen to before you die? No, it's kinda middle of the road. It had it's moments, and was good enough for most of it to generate a passing grade rather

Superfuzz Bigmuff by Mudhoney
Jul 03 2026

PSA: This album is not 2 hours long, it's 20 minutes. For some bloody reason they've put the actual album hidden like 4 songs into the only version on Spotify. I was smart enough to look up in the book how much I had to listen to, but just letting anyone else know x I'll dock it a point for that, but it's so sonically displeasing. Why do men have to make music? Always such a mistake x

Home Is Where The Music Is by Hugh Masekela
Jul 04 2026

Twas the day of Confessions II releasing, so I had to listen to this album earlier in the day. It was a good listen, but too long for me on that day, coulda streamlined it (although I think that's going against the vibe of jazz)

White Ladder by David Gray
Jul 05 2026

I mean, it's nice music and I like listening to it. Is it fine art? Not so much. Tis neither brilliant nor awful, as most of the reviews seem to think x

Hysteria by Def Leppard
Jul 06 2026

All killer, no filler. Can't believe this is an hour long and yet filled with so many bangers. Well done all x

Moon Safari by Air
Jul 07 2026

Better than I thought it was gonna be! Nice and dreamy with some very nice sections x

Rock Bottom by Robert Wyatt
Jul 08 2026

Was this nice to listen to? No. But was it interesting? Also no. I liked the wee man at the end, so it can get a very generous 2

Duck Rock by Malcolm McLaren
Jul 09 2026

I did not recognise the man's name on first reading it, so was rather impressed at the wide range of music on display here. Then it turns out that it's really a compilation attributed to Vivienne Westwoods ex boyfriend. Hmmm if he did steal all the music then that is, you know, bad. But it was easy to listen to

Cut by The Slits
Jul 10 2026

Hmmm wanted this to be better than it is, just a bit unorganized and there is never any need for that screaming, crikey

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Jul 11 2026

Better than I thought this was gonna be! Pale Blue Eyes is an all-timer that I'd never heard before, and there were other nice and soft but also more rocky tunes. That Murder Mystery one probably went on too long but had a good ending.

Devotional Songs by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
Jul 12 2026

They really need to sort out this fella's Spotify, it's a mess. So hard to find the album and half of the discography is silly posthumous compilation things that always annoy me. Anyhow I found the album, it wasn't awful to listen to, but gave no real impression

Paris 1919 by John Cale
Jul 13 2026

The song Paris 1919 is great! Half Past France also very good, some other good parts in here as well. Good length, and went through enough different vibes to keep me invested. Good stuff.

Guero by Beck
Jul 14 2026

Not my favourite, but it was alright. My favourite was probably the one called girl. Giiiiirllll. Know the Black Tambourine from something or other. Just enough variety to keep it from failing x

The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips
Jul 15 2026

It was alright listening, went quite fast for a full hour of music x Nothing else I can say, eh eh, eh eh

Goo by Sonic Youth
Jul 16 2026

*sigh* another alternative rock album from the 90s. Hey guys, it's not alternative if every single artist is doing the exact same thing as you! How abouts we play an instrument other than an electric guitar? Maybe? I'm finding the ending of Mote particularly egregious, and the Mildred Pierce song was a crushing disappointment. Sonic Youth gate gay people, why would you bait us with Karen Carpenter and Joan Crawford and then just do this shite?

Dookie by Green Day
Jul 18 2026

Thought I was gonna give this like a 4 before listening to it. Obviously Basket Case is good, but the rest of it was the same song repeated 14 times. Bloody 90s Green Day should do better when American Idiot rolls around. Their better songs are their slower ones imo

Stankonia by OutKast
Jul 19 2026

Hmm yes quite good sections rather (Bombs over Baghdad) but too long, it peters out in the last half. Also, their talk of sex doesn't really align with my "vibe" (probably because gay) and also the stank of it all isn't my vibe either (maybe because gay but who knows). Release the Kate Bush Collab Big Boi! (If it even exists)

The Coral by The Coral
Jul 20 2026

Oooh indie music, the 00s avenue for men to be mediocre. We've not had much of it so far on this list so far. There was one song I recognised on here from being a youth, but I couldn't give you a name of a song or a tune from the rest of it x

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Jul 21 2026

Full of bangers fr fr. I did have a go at Green Day for every song sounds the same as each other, and that's definitely true here, but I enjoy the one song that AC/DC play more x

The Nightfly by Donald Fagen
Jul 22 2026

Banging first track, the rest is a okay

Peggy Suicide by Julian Cope
Jul 23 2026

Some nice wee bits in here, especially at the start rather. It's just too long darling with too many mid ones in the final half

LP1 by FKA twigs
Jul 24 2026

The men hate to see a freak succeed fr fr First time listening to FKA Twigs properly and enjoyed my time muchly. She's got an excellent voice and makes interesting soundscapes. I liked the song that sounded like we were on the lift hill for Oblivion at Alton Towers

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Jul 25 2026

Thought this would be right naff, but had some really nice bops on here which kept moving and building and such. This kinda music is bad when it doesn't go anywhere.

Pretzel Logic by Steely Dan
Jul 26 2026

It was fine. Some nice tunes, some parts rather dull, but short enough x

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
Jul 27 2026

What a lovely way to spend a Sunday. Don't know what you ticktock-addled-brains folks' problem is, I could've gladly listened to another 5 hours of this. Pure camp, and I thought I wasn't a massive Gershwin person before I heard this. Will have to check out the Cole Porter one as well. Well done Ella bestie on this massive undertaking

2112 by Rush
Jul 28 2026

Hmmm I usually prefer more Peace and Love in my music, and less horrific doctrine that's been destroying all sense of community during my wee lifetime. Sorry boys, it's probably worth a 3, but you deserve to be punished for peddling Rand

Jul 29 2026

I mean, it really wasn't my vibe today, and it was too long, but there's good sections rather

Ogden's Nut Gone Flake by Small Faces
Jul 30 2026

Pleasantly surprising rather darling. Some really nice tunes in the first side and utter clownery on the second.

Jul 31 2026

Reviews are like "it's so much more fun than the gangsta rap of the 90s!", and I'm like "yeah, that's true". But if that section of 4 Better or 4 Worse is your idea of fun then you need to be locked in a psychotic hospital. Transphobia had me worried early on, but the horribleness peaked there. How do so many men of the hip hop scene have such inflated egos, like every woman instantly wants to be stripped naked and beaten by you? You're mid! Nobody cares about you! Write something from the heart! It went from offensive to inoffensive in sections, so it gets a 2.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Aug 01 2026

So I'm gonna try and say something smart and it's gonna come out dumb. The psychedelic guitar sections make it sound like its transcends time, because this music belongs both to now and also feels like some of the best parts of the 60s and the 70s. The voices blending in also helps with this vibe. He's a fantastic wee singer and composer and such, everything feels meticulously crafted to produce this unique vibe. I lived, laugh, loved it x

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Aug 02 2026

Besties, you might be able to say that this sounds interesting, but you can't say it sounds good, can you? Just a lot of "instrumental" that I don't like the sound of.

Cafe Bleu by The Style Council
Aug 03 2026

You know, some of the instrumental tracks were really rather good. I'm afraid I lost interest later on though, always such a curse!

Document by R.E.M.
Aug 04 2026

Aye, good, solid fun here. Reminds me of my old Oxfam days. Songs are quite similar innit but they gel well and I never looked at the track list during it (just enjoying the vibe)

Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy
Aug 05 2026

Fight the power fr fr. Nice stuff! Actually thoroughly enjoyed this despite having low hopes due to it's genre. Great message, and without that stupid ego that you get in hip hop of the 90s. Good samples and all x

Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
Aug 06 2026

Sorry you died love but it was a bit dull. Alas did not capture my wee heart in the way I think it should. Nice singing and musics and yet.... it did nothing for me. Sorry to this man

Jack Takes the Floor by Ramblin' Jack Elliott
Aug 07 2026

Nice, short album of rock and roll with good guitar playing, rather. Just about passes x

Aug 08 2026

My beef with the Arctic Monkeys is long-standing and continues today alas (not with monkeys in the snow irl tho, they slay). For me, this music turns up at every bar/club in the norf of England, and it's always the point where you either go to the loo or go to get a drink. You can't dance to it in a homosexual manner, you can sort of thrash your body around I guess in a heterosexual way. Every song sounds the same to me, and I take umbridge with the singing voice. It's probably a pass, but I'm gonna fail it x.

Soul Mining by The The
Aug 09 2026

Groovy baby! I'm just a symptom of the moral decay that's eating of the heart of the country... So true. Final song was too long

Run-D.M.C. by Run-D.M.C.
Aug 12 2026

Parts of this kinda sound like the DK rap. Did I enjoy the rapping-type stuff? No. But did I enjoy the backing tracks? Also no. Oh well
