Reviews (page 9 of 9)
Heel erg vervelende schorre schreeuwende stem
This is the second Tom Waits album I’ve been assigned. Again, I cannot get past the gravelly voice. I liked this even album less than Rain Dogs. Not much to say other than I was basically clenching my teeth to get through this.
I listened to the first three songs, it's not great, not my style and super random lyrics. The sound is decent
1980. Heartattack And Vine
Sound of rubbing your ear on gravel.
No.
Is he ok?
okay sure this might be a classic but this is so not my thing. raspy voice gets on my nerves, don't like the jazzy guitar, lyrically uninteresting to me. did not get through the whole album
American, 80s, Blues + = Male - Hate his voice, it's soo unpleasant/awkward/muscle {0/9}
A voice more like a cadaver than a kitten, I just can’t enjoy it. It’s like Tom Waits is the South Park guys lampooning Tom Waits
If I feel eh about the most popular track on this album, I can feel I won't be as pumped for the remaining tracks. I don't know Tom Waits music very well, I know only of him from interviews. I'm going to take a guess that he's like the Lenny Bruce of music? He does blues, likely jazz type music.
Someone get this guy a lozenge! Not a voice I want to listen to again.
I can't think of anything redeeming
Not good at all, didn't enjoy his voice or the music! Wanted to skip it
They say an album cover is a window into the music. That it can make or break the experience. I agree, and I'd say this one was ruined. The minute I saw this man on a dirty bathroom newspaper looking like Marilyn Manson at his first wedding, I shuddered even pressing play. When I did press play, I stopped. I don't need some guy trying to sound likes a blues man. Honestly by the third track I thought this was a gag album.
Nope. Not my style du tout.
super slow and uninteresting
sounds like he has nails in his throat
Классный альбом. Понравилось классическое, "приблюзованное" звучание.
