I gave up before the album had finished. Some of the background melodies were alright but I find the ranting, language and sentiments hard to enjoy. I know that means I’m an old person but it’s not what I call music.
I can’t understand all the fuss about Joy Division. It’s fairly miserable and I don’t think there was even one stand out track for me on this album so it’s a meagre 2* from me.
I don’t know what to say except that he deserves to be in prison ! I didn’t listen to all the lyrics but some were disgraceful and I can’t understand why any women would contribute to his earnings by buying his “music” if you can call it that. I gave up !!

My parents were in their early twenties then and would have been used to going to dances with big band music. This would have been a totally new sound and paved the way for what was to come as well as helping a new generation break free from the status quo. 3*

Not my cup of tea; some tracks like nursery rhymes, some noisy. I’d never listen to it again. Poor 1, maybe a 2 because it didn’t hurt my ears.......although it was starting to !

I can see how this might make the cut for being culturally significant in the way that an album of sea shanties might be but I thought it was a strange choice. Having said that I appreciated the history of it and even recognised at least one track. It wasn’t awful by any means so a generous 3*
It’s not even 7.30 am yet and this album has had me in tears three times already ! It’s hugely emotionally nostalgic for me as we played it all the time when we were first going out with each other. Yes is my favourite supergroup, even over Pink Floyd and so for these reasons and more it has to have 5* and I will continue playing it for the rest of the day !

My best friend & I used to listen to all the Beatles albums we could lay our hands on and this was one of them. Very contemporary sound for an album made in 1966 and that was the "power"of the Beatles who paved the way for so many artists. Some real classics so 4*

What a weekend banger !!!! We remember the controversy when Frankie broke into the charts. We first saw them on The Tube, which itself was controversial, and that was subsequently banned ! In the 70s I thought the best thing about Blondie was how cool and beautiful Debbie Harry was but I wasn’t really into their music. This album had some really good tracks and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. 3/maybe even touching 4* ?

I listened to their second album because that’s what Google chose for me. Very repetitive and same sounding. Then I listened to a live recording but quite honestly I had to give that up for my sanity so I won’t be trying any more, I’m done ! 1*
