Crosby, Stills & Nash
Crosby, Stills & NashMy only complaint is that they don't use an Oxford comma in their band name. Nice combo of nostalgic and folksy rock, this might have been my favorite album so far
My only complaint is that they don't use an Oxford comma in their band name. Nice combo of nostalgic and folksy rock, this might have been my favorite album so far
2.5-3 stars. took a few songs to get into it and I had really never listened to metal before but it was honestly kinda enjoyable. Got a bit long at the end, couldn't really tell them apart
Really liked this! Don't have much to say, it was groovy. 9
So chill! Great lyrics! 9/10 for the vibes, would want to relisten for a better appreciation
Oh I liked this! I'm not sure I'd want to listen to a whole album again but I'm definitely a fan of this type of 60s folk. Felt peaceful
8
really liked this! Maybe 4.5 stars 1. cool intro music 2. I kept thinking this one was in English but the end that sounded like heartbeats getting faster was super cool 3. more heartbeat sounds and awesome strings, this is my favorite so far 4. I'm liking the wind sounds and how somber this one is. The vocals are really cool, this was my favorite of the album 5. started off so gentle, I liked that better than the heavy drums. Nice horns though 6. funky beat, I like it. the static at the end didn't feel particularly good 7. the beginning felt almost like when the sun comes out after a big storm?? I also liked the dissonant strings at the end 8. nice and chill 9. "Ágætis Byrjun" apparently means "good start" which I just think is sweet 10. the outro to this was super interesting
Okay I wasn't expecting to like this but it was really good?? Up through Monster I thought it was great but I took one star off bc it was so long
So funky! My parents had a few of these songs on the family iPod when I was little so the nostalgia probably contributed. I think Everyday People and Sex Machine were my favorites
2.5-3 stars. took a few songs to get into it and I had really never listened to metal before but it was honestly kinda enjoyable. Got a bit long at the end, couldn't really tell them apart
It was fine? I didn't love it and it got a bit samey but the sounds were nice. I can't decide if it gets points or loses points for the terrifying album art
Ahh so groovy and classic. Starts off strong, vocals are fantastic and really its the occasional growl and the a cappella ending of the first song for me. Loved Yearnin' Learnin', All About Love, and Africano. 4.5-5 stars
Oh gosh. That was a lot. There were moments when it was fine but as a whole album it was creepy and didn't feel good. I made it through but I think it was just because I was doing homework the whole time. 1 star.
Pretty good! I liked Regiment and Help Me Somebody, though the songs got a bit samey toward the end. Transitions were cool, I could never tell when a song had ended / another began
I've never really listened to reggae and this was so good! Great lyrics, good bops
Oh I liked this! I'm not sure I'd want to listen to a whole album again but I'm definitely a fan of this type of 60s folk. Felt peaceful
This was more constantly upbeat than most albums I listen to so I was a bit overwhelmed by the end, but it was good! I really liked Tightrope and tbh it was nice to have a female artist. Awesome sounds, loved her voice. I didn't listen as hard to the lyrics as I'd have liked so no comment there. 4/5 stars
This album art is like a disturbing Vitruvian man? All in all it was fine, none of the songs really did it for me but it was nice and chill
Jenny's Got a Gun was quite good
Nothing remarkable but nice chill music to study to. I couldn't really tell the songs apart. Sounded almost like the background of a Ghibli movie at times?
Okay it was rainy and cloudy and I went for a walk listening to this and the vibes were impeccable. Fantastic as an album, but not a whole bunch of situations I'd really enjoy listening to it? 4.5 stars
3.5 stars. It was pretty good but didn't do much for me, probably won't listen again. Pretty album art though
It was okay. Lyrics were great if depressing, but I just couldn't take the way this album sounded after like 3 songs.
It was just sounds? It was just sounds. Idk, maybe I'd like it better if I could hear the vocals more
This was so fun! Definitely would dance to it. The beginning gets a 4+, maybe 3.5 overall.
I liked this! I actually listened to it twice while doing homework because it was groovy and chill. Didn't seem to take itself too seriously. 4+
Apparently I should listen to more Leonard Cohen. I liked the album as a whole, and So Long, Marianne really got me. 4+
Saying 'I don't want clever conversation, I want you just the way you are' is not the compliment he was intending. Generally didn't like the lyrics much but it was a bop. 3+ , it gets points for having Only The Good Die Young
Ehh not really a fan, it was a bit overwhelming and harsh. I did like their cover of I Heard it Through the Grapevine, could be fun in some contexts? 2.5-3 stars
It's Prince
My only complaint is that they don't use an Oxford comma in their band name. Nice combo of nostalgic and folksy rock, this might have been my favorite album so far
4+ definitely. Good vibes, loved his voice. An 18 minute song is just a commitment.
A fun listen! Probably wouldn't listen to the whole album again, but it was enjoyable and nice to have live. "Darlin' Companion" was so cute.
I've been following Patti Smith on instagram for a year but I've never actually listened to an album before. But I really liked this! The lyrics were really powerful and it just made me feel a lot of things. Either a high 4 or low 5.
Bit samey, didn't love anything in particular. Nice beats
Definitely grew on me and had some fun musical things going, especially Then She Did and Of Course. But the lyrics were a bit weird and their voices were pretty grating. 3+ stars, kinda forgettable
There was nothing I didn't like, fantastic vibes
Found myself wishing it was done waaay before it was. 202 Pacific was okay
Pretty good! Not many comments for this one
Ah I liked this! Excellent vibes even if the lyrics were a bit silly. Nice and chill but still interesting. Season of the Witch is groovy.
It's Michael Jackson. All bangers with enough nostalgia to combat the occasional cheesy lyrics
Good vibes! So acoustic! I really liked Strange Boat.
I've liked other Monkees songs but didn't love this album - some songs were cool, some were kinda boring. They just sounded like worse Beetles. 3 stars from me
Even better than the last one somehow?? Such bangers, I remember being 9 and absolutely rocking out to Man in the Mirror so points for nostalgia too
A little weird, the songs almost felt too disjoint to be an album? It was good and groovy if a bit aggressively 80s, and they had nice voices. A solid 4 stars.
Chill! Pretty voice! Solid 4 for me
A low 4, but if I had never heard rock and roll before it would have blown my mind
I'm not sure I liked it as much as some other 4s, but as far as hard rock goes it was great. Would definitely relisten in certain contexts
Really liked this! High energy but I stayed with it all the way through. Will definitely relisten, maybe a 9 from me
Ehhh. I usually love Springsteen but this didn't do much for me. It wasn't as passionate as his others and was just so long. Mary's Place was excellent though
Idk if this was intentional but I can't look at their album cover and not see a geoduck. This was enjoyable! Not something I'd usually listen to or actively seek out, but fun. Think the DJing took a sec to get used to and I still think it's a bit weird, but I came around. Groovy beats. Solid 4
Nope. Made me feel bad and didn't sound all that good
Either a high 4 or a low 5? Beginning and end was strong but fell off a little in the middle
What a weird and silly album. "Mother" was incredibly disturbing (and they ended it w a gong?), but "Walking in Your Footsteps" was pretty groovy. 8 for me
I enjoyed it, lyrics were a bit silly. Their cover of Mr Tambourine Man was great, points for being that bold I guess. 7 for me
Pretty fun! Loved her voice. A 7 or 8 for me
Okay beats. Not entirely memorable, though maybe that's because I was focusing more on driving through heavy rain lmao. 5
Loved it. 9
The beginning was stronger than the end, or maybe the style just got a bit old. All in all v enjoyable and pretty fun, had St Elmo's Fire vibes
I'd like to listen to this again to differentiate the songs? Bit samey but good
Didn't finish this one. Her voice is too much n the lyrics are corny. 4/10 for me
Not really my thing but still pretty good. A solid 7
Pretty groovy but I definitely had to let it grow on me. Maps was good, and I liked Y Control. Couldn't just sit and listen to this but for doing dishes it was good background. 7
My dad used to have this album on vinyl but I've never listened to it hah. The first two songs were so strong and then it fell off and the lyrics were a bit questionable. 6.
This one gets a full 10 from me. The songs were different enough that it didn't feel too samey and it didn't go too long. Groovy beats and just made me feel nice and chill
The main guys voice was really not good but the music was incredibly cool. Erzulie was fun, some of the others got long. 7.5 for me
Really just the most generic album. His voice is fine, nothing memorable. 5 for me.
Pretty good, but the sound just isn't for me. A solid 6
I know it's so long but it's my kind of music. So chill, so pretty. 8 stars
Sounded so nice! Excellent vibes, 9/10 for me
I already can't remember much of this album. Fine I guess, bit electronic for my tastes. 6?
Really cool moments but the songs were so l o n g. Good vibes, got a bit old. solid 7
I really enjoyed this! Bit high energy but fun. 8 for me
Rockin Robin vibes. Pretty solid 8/10
Didn't quite finish but it was good and groovy. 7
Love a live album. This was really good, will definitely relisten. 8 for me
Really good! A solid 8, would relisten
What a weird album. Idk how I feel, pretty groovy but also kinda boring. 6?
I wanted to like this album bc I really liked We're Going to be Friends beforehand, but the rest was just fine. Didn't love his voice. 5 for me
A bit unassuming but good! Relistenible, chill, good vibes. 8
So chill! Great lyrics! 9/10 for the vibes, would want to relisten for a better appreciation
Pretty forgettable but good, nice for doing homework. 7
Nice music, not as intense as I was expecting. 7
Boring and not very hardcore. 4
Groovy beats, though a few songs were weaker than the rest. Solid 8
I dunno, it was very generically 80s and fine I guess? Silly lyrics, decently forgettable. 6
Didn't finish. It didn't sound good but I could see it in some situations, so maybe a low 3
Liked it! Fell off a bit at the end but still gets an 8
Thoroughly enjoyed it. My bias for chill music is showing but I liked this way better than their more upbeat stuff. High 8.
If I couldn't understand English I'd really like it. 4
Sounded nice, made me feel good. Less screaming than I was expecting, v chill to do homework to. 7
7
Low 6. The cover of Mockingbird was silly if good and I liked Mama Said, but I can't listen to /that/ many songs about slightly worrisome 60s straight couples
Didn't finish all the way but wasn't a huge fan of what I heard. 5?
Nice to do homework to, sounded good. 7
9, very much enjoyed it
Still not a huge elvis costello fan. It was okay. 6
Sounded so pretty! 8
9. Could be a bit of nostalgia, but this was fantastic. Also 'if you see her, say hello' is basically the same plot as the Simon and Garfunkel 'scarborough fair' lol
9! Groovy. Great as an album, fun tracks individually
Sounded great and incredibly fun. Gotta give the space album a 10
5? Seemed cool but just ended up being grating. Not super enjoyable to listen to
Nice and chill! It's the anti- Margaret Thatcher message for me. 9
Pretty fun. Too long. 7
Liked it less than the Beastie boys, bit weird. 6
Not much of an appreciation for jazz but still thought it was good. Less good than Kind of Blue, so 8/10 ?
Hm. Had some cool moments but was a bit boring overall. 6/10
It's not often that I rlly want to listen to a 73 minute album about divorce. Sounded okay but got pretty repetitive. 5/10
Elvis Costello might be growing on me. 6, but a relatively high 6
Bit boring. 5
Groovy, nice background. Bit forgettable though. 8
Our House is classic but some of the later songs were a bit much. Liked it less than some recent ones, so 6?
Good beats and lyrics! Can only listen to so much pining though. 7
Uhhh sounded okay but the lyrics were a bit creepy. 5
Very weird. 6
It loses a star for the length and the amount of harmonica but overall fantastic. Comfortable. 8/10
I really liked this! Chill and good vibes. 9
I actually really liked this, would definitely relisten. High 8
Not gonna lie I didn't pay that much attention to this. But it was pretty good. 7
Groovy, love a sitar. Maybe a 7?
6
Incredibly average. 5
Groovy but samey. 7
Kinda fun and groovy but awfully repetitive. 6
The rendition of Someone's in the Kitchen with Dinah was .. weird? 4
Felt real sad but sounded great. 8
I listened to this once and then proceeded to forget everything I had heard so put it on again. Still pretty forgettable and the vocals aren't great. 6
Definitely enjoyable but a bit long. 7
Some interesting ideas but I didn't think it sounded great and was so long. 5
7. Interesting musically and cool concept, but weird as an album and some of the songs weren't that great
A high 8. Love her voice and would probably rate it higher on a relisten, but fell off at towards the end
So good and groovy! Would love a relisten. 9
really enjoyed this! it's gentle and peaceful and much better than her others, liked her vocals and the music was super easy to listen to. 9
9
Super chill and gentle! Not really sure why its on this list but is great background, definitely helped me concentrate. 8/10 for nice sounds
Not a fan. 4
So I accidentally listened to this on shuffle, but really really liked it. Awesome musical bits, vocals sounded cool, what lyrics I could understand were p good. 10
Alright, nothing super special but sounded cool. 7
Good! Cool musical bits and I liked the lyrics. Loses a point for being long. 7
Sticking a 10 minute song in the middle of the album is bold. Alright, nothing super special and a bit grating. 6
Weird and good!! Beatles vibes. Low 9
Listened to about half. What. 3
Really liked this! Don't have much to say, it was groovy. 9
Oh quite good! Fell off a bit toward the end but fun musical bits and the vocals just sounded nice. 8/10
Not my favorite style but undoubtedly a bop. Beginning and end were strong. 8
Nope not for me. 5
What a bonkers album. Didn't sound particularly good, not sure if it gains or loses points for the song about the whorehouse. Either way a 4/10
8
A good one to get back into the albums with. Really not a bad song, excellent vibes. Emo without making me feel bad. 9
Boring and disliked the lyrics. His voice grew on me though. 5
Didn't quite finish. Enjoyed it but didn't love it. 7
5 stars and all of them are because the music was fun
Decent, songs were a bit long and got kinda grating, but maybe it was just that I was driving through Auburn. 6/10
Not quite Ziggy Stardust levels of good, but good. 9/10
My ears kinda hurt. 4/10
9
8
6
10. I don't really think it's objectively a 10, but that's what I'm rating it anyway
Really good, would relisten. Couldn't always make out the lyrics but sounded nice anyway. 9
Quite good, bit too much of the funky dissonant guitar for my tastes. The vocals and most of the instrumentals were excellent though, a solid 8
Perhaps my favorite Steely Dan album? 10/10
7
Loved this. 9
Pretty good. Got a bit long but enjoyable as far as metal goes. 7
9 for the folksy and the nostalgia
Ehh. The instrumentals got pretty overwhelming and started to sounds bad after about 10 minutes of each long song. But the boys with vocals were nice. 6
Groovy beats. 8
High 6
Pretty average. The man's voice kept sounding like Monster Mash which threw me
Pretty fun and experimental, still sound like worse Crosby Stills and Nash. 7
Still don't like her stuff, made my head hurt. Cool album cover though. 4
Pretty great beats actually, so much more fun than I was expecting. Listened to it twice because Spotify un-downloaded all my music. 9/10
Okay, a little boring. 7
What an album. Excellent pacing, loved how it swapped between silly and poignant. 10
8
7
9
Pretty classic but definitely too much Van Morrison at once. On their own the songs were good, didn't have to think about anything too hard. 8
I listened to this from a few rooms away and didn't feel the need to listen closer. I like Dylan but this was long and not his best. 6
So pretty! Got a little samey but I didn't mind that much. High 8
Okay, not as good as his others. 6
Surprisingly good, recognized more of the songs than I was expecting. 7
Hmm. Started really strong and then really dropped off. 6
Fun! Prince! 9
Quite good. 8
Bit forgettable. 6
6
Kinda good, pretty emo. High 6
8. I like the talking heads, but not their best album
10
Classic if cheesy. 6
Really groovy. Not too long, would definitely relisten. Strong 8
8, incredibly good, would be higher but it's so long
Took me right back to middle school and felt a little classic, I liked some of the ones I wasn't familiar with like Wonderland. But it's definitely too much in album format. 5/10 for me
What an album. 10
Pretty good, got worse as it went on. Gets points for Imagine and Oh Yoko. 7
Funky! 8
8
Yuss. 9
8. Not very much my style but can't say it's not excellent
Trippy! 8
8
9
7. They kept it funky fresh, interesting mix of songs
