Some gems of songwriting and the next steps in song craft for the Stones. But also a lot of filler
Excellent album listen. Notes of Kraftwerk. Wonderful flow. Such a pleasant find.
Super talented music theatre nerds who love hard rock. I have a friend who hates Queen (and he’s got a music degree) and this album exemplifies that hate. So much bombast. A two minute acapella in a song that isn’t a song just a ramble of ideas. The best songs take those elements and temper it (like the song) into an actual well thought out piece. Even love of my life sounds better live without all the flourishes just to show they can.
Excellent guitar playing but the difficult listen. My ears just can’t do the warble on the high pitched singing.
UnAble to find
Surprised me with the musicianship. Lots of great songs. Does get a bit long and starts to be jam tracks
Love-Hate relationship with RHCP. Some great songs followed by all just more of the same. Starting with this album. Inoffensive but unremarkable. I actually find Stadium Arcadium the most interesting post One Red Hot Minute album other than the 2 hour length.
It’s like you can’t even uncross your legs without mentioning me. Moz to Marr apparently. At least we six years of beautifully written music with lyrics about big girls
Love it but I do tend to lose focus after Casimir Pulaski Day. A lot of the musical themes repeat much like listening to symphony or concept album.
I was hoping for Latin music and the bass line opening the album lead me astray for a few seconds, but then bam - 43 minutes of diverse salsa music. I’m not always in the mood for Latin Dance but this is an album that will definitely hit the spot.
Great and also just okay. The raw energy of PJ Harvey is phenomenal. Reminds me of the edgy girl everyone had a crush on in high school. Will I occasionally put on some songs yes. Will I put on the whole album no. Will I tell everyone she is one of the greatest UK songwriters ever, always.

Iconic pop rock hair metal. Takes me back to grade 7-8 and hearing the singles everywhere. Especially the local travelling fair or carney. You could play any song from this album in a movie and you would know exactly with zeitgeist is. Didn’t really like then and don’t now. But I wouldn’t hate anyone for likely it. I’m just never going to put it on got myself to listen to.
It sounds like Incubus. I remember having the CD in the car and skipping songs all the time. It’s not the worse but you just need to listen to 2-3 songs to get the whole vibe.
Missy and Timbaland kill it but like most Hip Hop of the era, front loaded and late filler. But the guests on the filler for a debut!
Psych rock. Built the groundwork for the early years of Pink Floyd but many more psych rock albums I’d rather put on. Bonus points in retrospect for Syd Barrett
The blueprint for electronic music for years to come. Sitting and listening can be a bit of a slog. But background for work or my own cyberpunk life soundtrack, top notch
Highly rated by me due to some sentimentality. A Beatles loving guy in early high school who loved college rock and hip hop and everything else but was surrounded by hair metal and AOR. This was great. Shimmery rock with melodic bass. John Lennon singing from a well. Psychedelia. But still great guitar riffs. Every few years when I return to it, I’m always slightly disappointed. That is until I am the Resurrection hits.
