The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter
The Incredible String BandI wish I could go back to when I never knew this album existed 1/5
I wish I could go back to when I never knew this album existed 1/5
*Just going to focus on the music* I've never listened to a Michael Jackson album front to back, only really hearing the singles, and usually not my choice. It's fine. The stand out songs were the singles. 3/5
Initial song ratings: 1. All I Really Want - [5/10] 2. You Oughta Know - [8/10] 3. Perfect - [6/10] 4. Hand In My Pocket - [7/10] 5. Right Through You - [7/10] 6. Forgiven [6/10] 7. You Learn [8/10] 8. Head Over Feet [7/10] 9. Mary Jane [6/10] 10. Ironic [7/10] 11. Not the Doctor [7/10] 12. Wake Up [7/10] Overall, I didn't have a bad time listening to the album. It's very 90s, and not my usual vibe. Probably won't revisit it other than the singles, which I already knew. 3.5/5
Track ratings: 1. American Idiot - [8/10] 2. Jesus of Suburbia - [9/10] 3. Holiday - [8/10] 4. Boulevard of Broken Dreams - [7/10] 5. Are We the Waiting - [7/10] 6. St. Jimmy - [6/10] 7. Give Me Novacaine - [7/10] 8. She's a Rebel - [7/10] 9. Extraordinary Girl - [6/10] 10. Letterbomb - [7/10] 11. Wake Me Up When September Ends - [6/10] 12. Homecoming - [7/10] 13. Whatsername - [7/10] I haven't listened to this album front to back in years. Very strong first half, but I kind of lose interest as the album progresses. There isn't any song I actively dislike, but Wake Me Up... just annoys me at this point due to the years of hearing it ambiently so much. 4/5
The exact type of jazz that I'm into. Never lost interest once. Definitely will listen to this again. 4/5
*Streaming only has 8 of the 13 tracks* Knowing what we know about Jerry Lee Lewis casts a shadow on my listening experience. The music is fine, I like it actually, but it would be hard for me to listen to this again. 3/5
Not much of a country listener, and I really appreciate and respect Johnny Cash, but the songs really started blending together for me. The performances were undeniable, and he sounds great. I'll probably listen to some of these songs again, but probably not a full album listen. 3.5/5
*2009 Remaster* I listened to this for the first time a few years ago for the album's 50th anniversary. Still not the biggest Beatles fan, but this album holds up. 4/5
Not for me at all. 1.5/5
Only a bit familiar with Our House, and had no idea what the rest of their songs would be like. The album was pretty much what I expected. 3.25/5
*Only listened to the original 10 tracks* Very strong opening track, the rest of the album is just fine. 3.5/5
This is a long one... I like it, I'll usually have a jazz album on in the background, and this one was really good. 4/5
Pretty good punk-glam hybrid with not so good lyrics. Not sure if I'd put it on by choice again, but wouldn't mind it if it was already on. 3.5/5
Sounds older than it is. I was not convinced when the first track began, and it never really hooked me. I do like some slower, softer albums, but this just isn't for me. 2.5/5
First time giving Pixies an actual listen. Actually liked it. 3.75/5
Fine for background vibes. Don't think I'd ever actively listen to this again 2.5/5
I didn't know what to expect, I knew the name Joni Mitchell and about her, but never actually listened to any of her music. Pleasantly surprised by the album, but not really my thing. 3/5
Only song I knew was Freedom 90. This album was more mellow than I hoped.it would be. 3/5
Not my usual vibe, but I had a good time with this 3.5/5
A bit too long for me. Not my vibe, but I get it. 2.6/5
*Spotify only had Deluxe version. I resequenced and listened to in the original UK album order and length* Decent UK Garage. Didn't mind most of the songs, but the album got a little samey after awhile. Added a few songs to my playlists 3/5
3.75 / 5
Actually really like this. 3.5/5
I've only ever heard Smoke On the Water, and was not a fan. This album made me appreciate the band a bit more, but I'm still not a fan. Too many solos that go on for so long. 2/5
I've only heard the song American Pie and don't mind it, but find it overly long. After listening to the album, I can see why this is the song that gained popularity. 2.5/5
Previously only ever heard the song We Are Family, and never really liked it. I was pleasantly surprised when the first song began and I actually really liked it. This album softened my opinion on disco. Still don't like the song We Are Family Though. 3/5
Not a big fan of 60s rock. 2.5/5
This is a weird one. 3/5
Ugh. These songs go on way too long. 2/5
Never heard of this artist before. The songs all sound very similar, but I like the rawness and weirdness. I like the music, but after looking into Nico, I doubt I'll revisit this. 3/5
Another rock album from the 60s... It's fine, but not my vibe. I did like Brainwashed though. 2.5/5
Wish I got this on a warmer, sunny day so I could vibe with this even more. The album kind of faded into the background as it went on though. 3/5
Yet another rock album from the 1960s. Not my thing really. The only song I knew was The Wright, which is a decent song. 3/5 *side note: I've been getting a lot of albums from the 60s lately. Hopefully that changes soon*
The first half of this is acoustic, and I actually kind of liked it more than the previous Neil Young album I listened to. The back half is more rock, and not too bad as well. So it turns out that I mostly hate Neil Young's 60s output (so far). 3/5
As soon as this album started I couldn't believe this was released in the 70s, it sounds way more modern. I really, really like this album. 4/5
I used to be obsessed with Sigur Rós, and listening to this album again reminded me why I love them so much. 5/5
Only familiar with Come on Eileen. This album sounds just like I expected it would based on that song, for better and for worse. 3.5/5
This album has some real classics. I wasn't a fan when this album released, but over the years I've explored their music and found a lot to like about it. The highs on this album are high, but there are a lot of songs I find pretty meh. 3.5/5
Not really my vibe, I did like This Mess We're In though. 3/5
3/5
Not my thing 2/5
Really like the beats, but not all the lyrics hold up even though. Cringy words delivering a message. 3/5
I feel like I should like The Cure more 3/5
Haven't gave this a listen in years. It's got the hits, so 80s in just the way I like. 4/5
Have only ever listened to the hits and Christmas stuff, so this is my first experience with an Elvis album front to back 3/5
Not my vibe. It's fine though. 3/5
I like it, but it fades into the background after awhile 3.5/5
4/5
This is the kind of hip-hop I love. Really love this, but it goes on for a bit too long. 4/5
First time listening to a Bowie album fully. I found it pretty enjoyable. 3.5/5
I haven't listened to this is full in decades. This really brings me back to my childhood and my sisters playing this all the time. At the time I thought I was "too cool" for this, but secretly loved it. My only complaint is that this album is a bit too long. 3.75/5
I was obsessed with this when it originally released. Green Light is such a great start the album. Liability is such an Antonoff song. I'm pretty sure there's a Bleachers song that uses this melody. 4.5/5
Love his voice, and I more or less like every song on this album, but it all blends together and fades into the background after a while. If it was a shorter album I'd probably rate it higher. 3.5/5
Oof, I like Ella, but 3 hours long...not going to listen to the whole thing, so I listened to the 44 minute "very best of" version. Classic sound. 3.5/5
One of those artists that I've always heard the name, but never took the time to listen to. Really liked this. 3.75/5
*Just going to focus on the music* I've never listened to a Michael Jackson album front to back, only really hearing the singles, and usually not my choice. It's fine. The stand out songs were the singles. 3/5
My favourite Taylor Swift album. Shake It Off is the only "meh" song.
Never heard of this band or album. Definitely not for me. Had to skip through songs. The first album on this list I couldn't make it through. 1/5
Catchy pop songs. I was only familiar with the singles, but there was a lot to like about every song. 4/5
Nope. Appreciate the weirdness, but I could barely make it through. 1.5/5
I've only heard the singles, and at the time was not as open-minded to different music genres. Rehab is such a fantastic opening song, though very tragic given Amy Winehouse's death. I like this more than I expected I would. I'm sad I never gave this more of a chance when it was originally released. 4/5
Not what I expected. 1.5/5
I didn't hate it, but it's not for me. 3/5
Not what I was expecting. The songs started blending together after a bit, all with similar tempos and vibes. 3/5
Never heard of this band, and this is not what I expected to hear when I saw this labeled as punk. It's fine. I did really like the cover of Under the Boardwalk. 3/5
3.5/5
Nah 2/5
2.5/5
Ugh... 2.5/5
I forgot how much I love this album. 4/5
I've never heard of her, and didn't know what to expect, but I think I love this 4/5
This just sounds like standard 90s pop rock. 2/5

Love the vibes, but can get tiring after awhile. 3/5
I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't this. 2.5/5
Definitely a top heavy album, but I really like it 4/5
I did enjoy this album, but I probably won't listen to it again. 3.5/5
I've never really liked Incubus. I guess this album is fine 2.5/5
3.5/5
Not for me 2/5
4/5
Pleasantly surprised to get some Post-Hardcore on here. Great band, good album. 3.5/5
Never listened to a Nirvana album in full before, but was familiar with their singles/hits, and was never really a fan. This album did nothing for me. 2.5/5
Not my usual vibe, but I really liked this album. 3.5/5
3/5
Those lyrics did not age well, but there is some decent instrumentation 2/5
I wish I could go back to when I never knew this album existed 1/5
Grindcore has always been hit or miss for me, but I've always preferred the later sounds of the genre. I enjoyed it while listening, but I don't think I'd revisit this album. 3/5
3.5/5
I've heard the name Kraftwerk for years, but never gave anything a listen. This is pretty much what I expected it to sound like, but am amazed it's from the 70s. 3.5/5
liked this more than I thought I would. Wish it was on Spotify, I'll probably never listen to this again otherwise. 4/5
It's fine. Nothing I can really complain about, and the hits are hits for a reason. 3.5/5
3.5/5
Turns out I've actually heard the song Green Onions many times before, but never knew who it was by or what it was called. 3.75/5
Has a bunch of good songs, but drags a bit 3.5/5
Not for me 2/5
3.5/5
I've listened to a bunch of Ramones in the past, but never an album straight through. This was very repetitive, and most of the songs blended together. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it though. 3.5/5
Parts I loved. Parts I hated. 3/5
Huh. Not sure about this one. 2.5/5
Very hypnotic, it not something I would listen to regularly 3/5
Sounds like Jack White. It's fine I guess 3/5
Nah. 2/5
It's fine 3/5
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would 4/5
No
Good, but not for me 3/5
I liked this. I'm going to have to revisit it during the summer though. I think it will hit better when there isn't snow on the ground 3.5/5
4/5
Never heard of this artist. First song I was into, then the second one began and it was all downhill. 2.5/5
No thanks There seems to be an overabundance of 70s prog rock on this list 2.5/5
3/5
Not my thing 3/5
I think I get Wilco now. Album is a bit too long though. 4.5/5

First time I've taken time to listen to Aretha. I was not expecting to enjoy this, but here I am loving this album. 4/5
Weird one. Covers dragged this down for me 2/5
These songs dragged, but I mostly liked it. 2.5/5 [side note: this list is sooooo 70s heavy. So far it's at least double every other decade]
I really respect and appreciate his music, but I just have a hard time actually listening to Leonard Cohen 3.5/5
3.5/5
Forgot how much I like Message In A Bottle 4/5
3.5/5
After hearing The Mother We Share in 2012, this was one of my most anticipated albums of 2013. I love this album so much. 5/5
3.5/5
There's songs that I don't mind, or even like, but this is way too long. 3/5
Went in blind. Expected to not like this. Actually really really fun. 4.5/5
Not really a Bob Dylan fan. First 2 songs were fine, then it just kept dragging on. 2.5/5
Not really for me even though I like a decent amount of DnB and electronic stuff. 2.5/5
3.5/5
Seems like rock from the 1970s is just not for me 2/5
Boring. 2/5
Pretty chill. Pretty 80s. Pretty good. 3.5/5
