Scissor Sisters
Scissor SistersNot really for me. To parody-of-disco.
Not really for me. To parody-of-disco.
Interesting and had some pretty cool things. They sound fun live.
Seemed like a powerful anti-military message. “You will lose your soul”. Effective and very beautiful. The horns felt like singing in the rhythms were so groovy.
Seems like more of a historic pick. CCR has lots of songs I really like but none of them are on this album. Graveyard train would’ve been a jam for me but it really over stays it’s welcome imo. Expected more for this list.
Oof. I guess it’s for someone. Songs sound really low effort to me. They’ve mastered the country/honky-tonk meander and songs take an eternity to get going. No hooks. Had to speed run this one bc it’s over an hour. Kinda liked what the opener was setting-up but I won’t be taking any of these tracks with me.
Could listen to this album all day long. Have loved it for years. Can’t believe this is from 91.
Not on Spotify. Found it on YouTube. Really incredible. This album clearly informed a lot of my favorite artists, and it was like a hidden objects game to find all the vocal cadencies that I recognize. These tracks are very unpredictable and full of interesting details both in lyrics and instrumentals. She’s amazing. I knew I’d love her, and I do. My mother in law loves her too and I can’t wait to talk to her later tonight at dinner about how good this was.
The debut album. I enjoyed this a lot as a historic pick. The longer form songs were a nice surprise. Ozzy has a cool voice and geezer (who I believe is the guitarist) seems to be inventing the idea of metal riffs. These songs are fun!
Really cool how it gives you an auditory glimpse into the studio at various times. A handful of really cool moments and I really liked the production, especially if the drums. I think I knew Todd Rundgren’s name maybe, but I def knew “i just wanna bang on the drum all day” (which is not on this album. That song just makes me think of ads for cruise ships. Album was long but that’s okay. Some great moments and a few cringy moments.
There’s a lot of hip hop albums I’d rather be hearing but none of them evoke to me the image of an angry pastor’s wife who grounded their kids for owning this album, furiously jotting down every swear and suggestive lyric in a notebook to bring to a church group. This made so many people mad who also tried to blame videogames, dnd, comedians, and rock and roll for their failures as parents; and that’s awesome. This album emboldened a lot of weak minded people to never mature, but it also gave my generation a chance to see the hypocrisy of those before us, because now we know eminem isn’t really a dangerous guy, he’s just a talented lyricist with a violent character he likes to rap as. No more dangerous than Joe pesci irl bc of who he portrayed in good fellas.
Not super excited to get started with this one. I guess it works for background music if you’re getting drunk on someone’s back porch. Nothing really stands out here musically besides kirk’s got a few really cool riffs. James’ lyrics are terrible. Drums are boring af. Didn’t really notice bass besides the opening to (I think) misery my friend which is a bass riff written by a middle schooler. A few cool songs I guess, none are coming with me. Lady Luck, please send me an album I give a f about!
Sounds like the Home Depot theme. 1000x better than Metallica. Good background music. I didn’t mind it. I’m sure all their albums sound just like this one, I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life.
Great ride. Lots of strong imagery and storytelling. The rawness and extensive cast make this record one of the foundational wutang projects. I really loved the vibe of it. Honestly I was about to bail on this project before I saw Raekwon show up.
Better than I thought it would be. I really enjoyed the vibe of the tunes and content of his lyrics. Cat Steven’s seems like a good guy and I’m interested to hear more.
Solid. Great vibe. Not too much of anything. Some very surprising moments.
Interesting. Not what I need in my life now, but I have a soft spot for KoRn.
Great album. A few drag moments but the start and finish is strong. I’ve loved this album for a long time, not my favorite IM album but still very enjoyable.
Very nostalgic. Fairly enjoyable. I was excited to revisit this one. Wish I could te this generator to stay in this lane for a bit.. oh well, here comes some bullshit. I’ll bet it’s poison or meatloaf. Hoping for a hot one. Give me a gem, five star comin’ up!
4 or so if the worst songs I’ve heard in a long time. Cee Lo’s voice is terrible. Not even timberland can give this a boost. Cee lo green is the Wilco of… something idgaf this stinks. It’s for idiots.
Had some cool moments. Daily boring. I zoned out a lot.
Pleasant and relaxing. Not quite my thing anymore but I’d be happy to listen to ti again some day. I haven’t finished it.
Total classic. This whole album is perfect.
This is what I was hoping for with 1001 alum generator. This album was neat. Never heard and really enjoyed. Closest thing to Neil young I’ll probably ever care for. “Don’t steal our sun” sounds like it’s off of basement on a hill. Almost does a chino Moreno with the singers voice at times. A hidden track is a funny throw back.
Didn’t enjoy this. One song was tolerable. I have a bad feeing about the next album lol
It was fine. Had some interesting moments. I might revisit.
Not really for me. To parody-of-disco.
Has some cool moments. Def reminds me of a lot. Feels like Dan the Automator is almost in here. I think I get what he was trying to do culturally and I appreciate that. I have a new-found respect for ice cube, even if there are no entire songs I loved. The interlude where ice cube gives an interview is probably my fav part after it was a good day.
Probably not the best Beatles record. It was fine!
I really love this album. It’s been a while since it felt relevant to my life but I’m sure I’ll revisit it many more times.
Really loved it. I heard its influence in much of the punk I grew up with. Def want to dig further into the clash.
Glad it exists. I get they meant to shock people who needed to be shocked, and they took it to the furthest extremes they could. Some interesting moments, mostly predictable. Ez had a cool voice. I’m impressed with the variety of flow present in this album.
Mostly had me in the first half when it was just background. It’s fun.
Started ok. Has some cringy parts. Atdi did it better. Last song was pretty cool.
Not as exciting as I was hoping. A lot of slower ballads and covers. I bet there’s lots of Ray Charles albums I’d enjoy more.
Good funk. Some ambient stuff. I liked it! Already had a track from it. Maple got one also for her list.
Really liked it. Reminded me of omar Rodriguez Lopez music a lot of times.
Fairly unremarkable. Some songs felt intentionally underwhelming.
Not going to totally trash k d lang but this isn’t for me
Cool and interesting!
It’s great. Big fan. Sounds like Bosnian rainbows.
Pretty bad. One or two good song. The lyrics were very first drafty.
Really cool. Ben meaning to check this out for years
Interesting. Had some cool moments. Could dive into Nick cave a bit more.
Blonde is awesome
Delightful. I’m a big fan.
Grandma E’s favorite musician. This album is special bc it’s wild and live.
A cool vibe. Def hear their influence on a ton of punk bands I grew up with.
She’s amazing.this is full of so many strange emotions.
It’s fine! One or 2 good songs. Not. Huge fan.
I appreciated it. Not crazy about it though.
Lol. No. An album of car commercial OST. Song thieves. And worse.
I think I get it. It’s fine.
It’s cool. Not my fav by him but I appreciate the guitar work.
Not for me. This guys voice and whining about a girl who doesn’t like him is annoying. Some startling production like a quiet song with someone suddenly moaning at a high volume in the room. Other djr albums I bet I’d enjoy way more.
Has some bops. Has some serious production issues.
I don’t listen to Elliot smith anymore
Had cool moments. Strange vibe and some interesting repeated melodies, especially in the vocals.
What a cool and super deep rabbit hole!
Fairly annoying. One good song.
Smooth vibe
It’s fine. Way too drugged out for me. Heroin is for fucking losers.
Sick. Weird. Long and strange. I’m down.
So classic. Wish I could give a 3.5 bc it wasn’t really my jam but I appreciate what it did.
Inoffensive. But not much going on.
Love portishead
Fine. Cool songs. Bad singer.
Bless Dolly Parton
I enjoyed this.
Fun!
Amazing. I listened to it fully about 4 times.
Never heard this full album. Loved it.
Inoffensive. Enjoyed the vibe
More funk than I remember. Cool.
Awesome. What a great vibe.
Made moments I guess.
Idk. Thought I would love it more bc I like what this album influenced. Perhaps I’ll give it another listen one day.
No thanks.
Okay vibe. I enjoyed it.
Noticed some bjork moments. This was cool
Everything George Clinton and bootsy touch is 5 stars
Lots of fun songs, not too long. No low points.
Boring and hollow feeling.
It gets way better than this for bowie.
It’s fine. Heard it a lot.
Pretty good vibe.
One or 2 groovy moments. Mostly just ok. I’m not blown away.
Oof he’s a terrible rapper.
Think I’m good on Paul Simon for a while thank you.
Had a good time with it.
Great vibe. I’m into it
It’s got some bops!
Loved it. Feel like it opened doors for me.
Inoffensive. Was hoping for more.
1.5 good songs. Mostly done a dozen.
Kinda fun!
Idgaf about this band.
Ahead of its time? Yes. Sounding good or even tolerable? No.
A great time
Another one that exceeded expectations.
Really horny. Title track is obviously great, but other songs are forgettable. MG and everyone involved has way better albums.
Idgaf about Johnny cash
This guys awesome.
Bouncing souls and afi flavored La croix. I dig it.
Sorry. But no. The vocal style is really annoying and distracting to me, maybe there is good songwriting but I can’t tel.
It’s fine!
Not for me.
Sloppy and not very interesting.
Idk. Too corny for me I think
Really interesting. Need headphones.
Classic. A little long!
Not perfect but I did enjoy it!
Lol this band sucks. Sounds like lazy rancid kareoke.
Cool. Pretty good moments. No complaints. Not my favorite proggy album but it’s fine.
That album stinks. Boring. How dare you. Next album better rip, bc this shit is like 2/3 a drag..
Cool moments. Not too long.
Boring but fine.
Interesting. not perfect.
Pretty and a great vibe!
Far out. Vibe and style are crazy.
A difinitive 2.
Not much to be excited about. Goes for some grooves but I would rather hear portishead.
Pretty good. Good vibe, thanks. The next ones gunna be a fuckin doozy I can feel it…
Has some cool grooves with soem really weird speeches about fake arguments lol. Wayne feature makes this a solid 2.
Man there’s barely 3 seconds where this lady isn’t yapping. The songs are annoying. Not for me.
Great. Def need this kinda vibe sometimes.
Fine.
Can tell it’s cool in the right vibe. Probably influenced lots of stuff I have loved.
Has cool tracks and I like the production. Some stinker tracks. But the good makes it to 4
Too corny for me. This guys going for the joke a lot and it’s just not landing for me. He also suffers from “never shuts tf up” syndrome.
You all need to chill with these boring fucking albums. Give me something I’ll care about next, please.
Snore. Idk I’m bored by many many of these albums… it’s been a while since I’ve heard something cool. I hope the next one is a 5 and not something boring or something I already know about…
What are we doing here folks s. Do I give this album a 2 bc pac was peripherally related to it?
Ugh. In 2024, nah.
Vibey. Thanks it’s been like a million stinkers in a row…
She’s cool. Cute. Palatable. Interesting that she’s British. Not realy my thing but no problems.
Kinda fun. Reminds me of a cross between talking heads and the Silverstein album “young mondern”.
Weird voice. Low integrity. This guy…
Like a perfect album. Really strong messaging, though not too specific, that’s important to be expressed especially at the time. It rocks. RIP.
A great time. Gotta revisit.
Interesting and had some pretty cool things. They sound fun live.
Idk. I really can’t stand the harmonica on this album. It’s like a car alarm that just goes on and on through every track but one. You can bend that note, we get it. Crazy to drop a 1 on this. Oh well.
He’s cool af.this didn’t blow my mind though.
Amazing. Perfect for a rainy day.
Not my tempo or voice. I’m not sue if I just heard any music at all.
This is great. Lots of cool jams.
Ugh idgaf about Neil young.
Idk man. Think kinda sucked, maybe it’s like historically important or the lyrics are strong but the music sounds like kid show theme music and the singer can’t sing.
Love this album. It’s great.
Had a few good moments. Interesting. Please let the next thing be a 5 I’ve never heard of, I need a win!
Really great. Perfect for the day.
Boring but an alright vibe
No thanks! I get it, you want me to listen to every Neil young album.
Awesome. Very cool. Loved it.
Great vibe. No complaints
Goddamn this album sucks. Trash. Reall really some of the worst songs I’ve ever heard.
Realy liked it. Guess I’m a Beatles fan
Grooves pretty well.
Cool. Really enjoyed it. Break beats with sitar? Works great
Lol imagine becoming a jerry Lee Lewis mega fan in 2024. Not happening.
Safe is always a 5 star tf
Super solid album.
Some bops. Some missed ops.
Really cool. Good vibe for doing chores.
Not total shit, but close!
Sounds like jet, which is one of the worst bands ever. 2 stars for technically not being jet. I would love a good album next…
Guess it’s for someone. It’s an okay time. Just underwhelming and I don’t speak French and this guys voice is not super pretty and en never stops.
The 3est album of all time.
Listened to it many times. She’s awesome. Wife loves it too. 😘
Prince rocks. Lots of bops on here.
Classic and amazing. Vibes vibes vibes.
Not likely to just throw it in but there’s cool moments.
The train guy. I’m not gunna give this much time lol.
Cool to see where so many recognizable references are from.
Great vibe. Haven’t really appreciated blues this much before
Fun listen. Good vibe. Sounds like the music from the beginning and end of office space.
So sick. This album rocks. I’m starting to think VM can’t miss.
Obviously one of the sickest albums ever.
