Colour By Numbers
Culture ClubI didn't appreciate this album much when it was released, but I sure do now. Fantastic album that has said the test of time.

Metal at it's finest!
Nope
It starts out a little folky, but wraps up with much more crunch. Almost had a punk feel towards the end. Like always though, Niel Young always has a lot to say.
Absolutely forgettable album. It's not bad; it's just meh. All the tracks sounded relatively the same and blended together.
Classic album. Bruce takes you on a journey in this album of the times. Just great rock and roll.
A couple good songs, but certainly not the best album by the group. Lindsey got a little experimental in quite a few tracks.
Kiss isn't the most technical or sophisticated band, but they're entertaining AF! This is definitely one of their best products.
Good album. I had no idea "Song 2" was by Blur or even on this album.
It wasn't bad, but I found myself ignoring it.
Amazing album. The flow is amazing, and it bangs front to back.
It wasn't anything exciting, but it was good. I can see why it was critically acclaimed; the writing is good. It didn't blow me away, but I appreciated it.
I had never heard of this before, but I enjoyed it. From what I learned, they learned to play the instruments do they could perform live. It was a fun listen so the way through with a good rock/rap vibe and some funk should in there.
This is mid 80's pop, so it is synth heavy. I felt like I was watching a John Hughes movie. Being an '80s child, it is very nostalgic; therefore, good.
It comes at you hard and smacks you on the head. It's along the same lines as a lot of albums that have popped up on this list recently: Post-punk, noise rock, alt-rock genre. I enjoy this genre and this was a decent album. I was reminded of Violent Femmes.
I can't say enough about this album, so I won't. It's amazing! If you haven't heard it, listen to it. If you don't own it, but it. I'm going to need more stars.
The Carpenters bringing that smooth early '70s adult contemporary sound. Not really my thing. Probably my least favorite genre of that time, but I recognize they were good at what they did. I'll give them an extra star just out of respect.
5 Star album right here. I think it's their best work. I'm not the biggest fan of Simply Red, but this album is phenomenal!
Banger of a Stones album. The Blues/Rock vibes this sends out are some of the best. I normally listen to the Stones on a greatest hits album, so this was a welcome surprise.
It was a rough one to get through. The follow up of Glass Animals put out into perspective and helped to understand it's place. Still, it wasn't particularly enjoyable.
Phenomenal album. I love some good Jazz! The biggest problem is deciding to piss l purchase it on vinyl.
Ok, so it's Deep Purple. I figure, if you're here, you know Deep Purple. Then you get about 47 minutes (give it take) and shit gets great. I have a new DP respect.
I love The Doors. Sadly the last album Jim recorded. It's good blues-rock and starts out with a heavy dose of Ray in organ.
Proper '60's folk music. Nothing special but it wasn't offensive.
I enjoyed the more jazzy songs on this album much more than some of the "Joni Mitchell" ones earlier in the album.
This album is so good I might have to buy a back up in case I wear out my current one. Great front to back. Plus, it always comes back to Steely Dan.
I like Pete, but this album wasn't my favorite. I can hear the experimental things he's doing and appreciate it. There really only a few songs that I really enjoyed.
I was surprised. I didn't expect this to be a country album. It was a great change of pace, and right in my wheelhouse. Very enjoyable!!
It's a great album that I have not listened to since the '90s. I forgot how much I enjoyed it.
Cat Stevens throws down some really good folk rock on this album. It sounds correct for the era, but the wings have stood the test of time. Iconic album.
Not the Bee Gees of the Disco, Saturday Night Fever, days. This album lacked energy and was much more of a downer than I wanted.
Hendrix was amazing. This album rocks! It gets a little weird, but what do you expect? It's Hendrix, and it was the '60s. There were all kind of influential substances. That being said, Hendrix was one of the most amazing and ground breaking guitarists of his time, and it clearly shows on this album.
I didn't appreciate this album much when it was released, but I sure do now. Fantastic album that has said the test of time.
This was a mix of Rock, Skah, Funk. Very eclectic, much like my musical taste. I listened to it twice.
I pride myself in listening to the entire album in case there's a hidden gem. Nope, just more dog shit. I had to read about it too see if I was missing something. If it's one thing I've learned through this, Noise Rock is NOT my thing.
This was a nice Jazzy album to have playing while at work. The arrangement of the big band sounds and Jazz beats scratched that itch.
I didn't really enjoy it. The album seemed to change midway through, and it was just not that great IMO. It'll get an extra star for not being Noise Rock.
It sounded like it should be on Scott Pilgrim. Pretty good, but a whole album was a bit much at once.
Cyndi Lauper was an '80s icon. Her distinct voice and catchy fun beats really made her special, and she's still amazing, albeit differently. Great album!
Good album by The Boss. It's Bruce being Bruce singing Bruce songs. It has solid rock vibes with Bruce's blue collar voice.
Boring AF! It sounded like when the paster sings the liturgy at a traditional Lutheran service. Not sure why this is on the 1001 album list. I really didn't need to hear it.
Wonderful album with many songs for which I want familiar. I still enjoyed it. Turns out I'm a bigger fan of the band than I originally thought.
Enjoyable album by REM. I can't believe it's from 1987 though. There are tracks on it that band and could be mistaken for modern alt rock songs.
Want expecting some Bollywood music.
Sounds like music from a man at the end of his career/life.
It was an enjoyable Pixies album. Just enough umph to power through midmorning at work.
Not my favorite Blondie album, but still good.
Super Chill and the autoplay went into a 3+hr coffee shop Jazz mix.
I want inspired.
I just wasn't into it.
Right on par with early Alt Rock, and of course it's British. Nothing special, just a middle of the road.
I love The Stones. This has a fairly heavy Blues vibe to it, which is good.
It always comes back to Steely Dan. Not my favorite one of their, but it's still good. Who doesn't appreciate Steely Dan?
It was good background music while working and the house.
A crowd pleaser when your looking to sing along with some old music.
Probably my favorite Green Day album. I ran many miles to this beech in the day.
Nah. I'm wondering how some of these albums make it in the list. I know 1001 is a lot, but there are better.
For me, one of their lesser known albums. It's solid Queen Rock and Roll. They are a very diverse band, and this album showcases that.
Starts as some solid early EDM then transitions almost into some lo-fi. All in all better than some albums I've been hearing lately.
Solid album front to back. It's unoffensive and easy to listen to. I found myself tapping my feet more than once.
It finished better than it started.
Smooth R&B jams.
Great album that speaks to the times in which it was created. Motown at lots finest.
Adele has an amazing voice. I just wish she wasn't complaining orion constant sorrow over a relationship.
Really good album and well mixed for a live album. The Who isn't my favorite, but I enjoyed this.
Nothing really special. It seems indicative of early 80s English rock. I was left, meh.
Good album. I love Sultans os Swing, so that really helped.
It started out not to bad. There were times where it was a little too much, but it's early Punk. What you gonna do?
Smooth album.
Great album... Classic Motown. It's just so good.
I was not a fan. It was pointed out to me that it sounds like a movie score. I would have to agree.
Amazing album, but it's really sad.
I may have just been in the right headspace place to listen, but it was a great album. The song writing and lyrics were great.
I jammed so much to this on the 90s. Bring on the Grunge era! I don't need to listen to again it too know it's good, but I will because it's THAT good.
The Roots are amazing. The Tonight Show has the best band ever.
Hard hitting rock.
Should Bruce. There's nothing surprising it apologetic about this album.
This seems kinda all over the gambit in the Southern Rock spectrum. It's interesting.
I couldn't get into it. I read it was a story of a drug addicted couple, and that made sense. It just wasn't for me.
Fun album. Especially knowing how many bands they influenced.
Great album!
Another solid product.
Jack has all sorts of projects out there. He keeps rock alive.
It's a great album that I didn't know existed. It's like Rod Stewart and The Rolling Stones had a love child.
Old Western show tunes mixed with some crooner flair?
Don't have to listen to give it 5 stars, but I will.
This is an awesome album. It'll be in my collection soonish.
Not really my favorite Bowie.
Long album of generic early '70's music.
Ground breaking and controversial album.
For what it was, it was good. I'm just not a fan of this genre.
Decent
Some old country was a good change of pace.
Phenomenal live album!
Legendary!
Not my jam. It's probably great for those who enjoy this genre.
Solid 4
I wasn't upset when it was done. Reminded me of Jimi Hendrix, but not as good
🔥
Classic...
I've been looking for this vinyl.
I enjoyed it more that I thought I would.
Nope
