Have already heard and enjoyed Smells like Teen Spirit. Like the riff of Come as You Are, sounds like a suave, cool type theme. Some songs seem to borrow the guitar riff/progression (Polly, Drain You). Willing to be some are even in the same key. Drums are fun, (esp. Stay Away). Something In the Way is more mellow, but still has element of SLTS

May have heard Gimme All Your Lovin' before? I like the guitar and driving sound, also like the chant-like nature of the chorus. Got Me Under Pressure reminds me of something (intro guitar, truck commercial?). Also like the general drive of Sharp Dressed Man. Slower tempo I Need You Tonight, kinda boring and whiny? I like the vocals on I Got the Six but maybe it's cause I'm working out and i don't want to hear myself breathing. Legs has some 16th note thing which is fun, vocals and lyrics are meh. Pretty sure Thug is about car sex; empty space is different fromnother songs, but it maintains tempo (what is that guitar??). TV Dinners - serious or innuendo I'm missing?, not a huge fan of slower tempo, moan(?)iness of the vocals. Dirty Dog guitar is similar to earlier tracks, like bass, questionable lyrics?. Like syncopation guitar/drum of If I Could Flag Her Down, (Elvis vibes?) Bad Girl has an interesting guitar (8th notes) coming in on off beat, fun guitar solo(ish) moment, definitely prefer more uptempo songs.
Not stero, a little trippy. Different structure, shorter than AABA. Instruments generally more prominent/featured than vocals. Like the energy of Spanish Castle Magic, noticed a lot of syncopation under guitar. Little Wing, ex, meanders its way to a "chorus" and ends. Interesting subject of If 6 was 9, wtf is the outro flute thing. Enjoy Castles Made of Sand, probably has the most structure. Like the chill beat of One Rainy Wish, interesting modulation in riff. Effect on vocals in Little Miss Lover; emphasis is clearly directed toward instrumental. Bold As Love tempo is kinda stoned, second half solo builds off; could probably go for a while.
Moody, slower tempo, airy vocals. Cherry Colored Funk is carried by ethereal vocals (why do i feel like I've heard this skng before?). Pitch the Baby has glittery synths and incomprehensible lyrics (but it's fine). Iceblink Luck is boringly happy, chill rhythm guitar/synth. Like the pounding synth of fifty fifty clown, but the melody meanders. Heaven or Las Vegas is also chill in tempo/drum rhythm, layered but not particularly melodically interesting vocals. I Wear Your Ring has slight minor key, key change(?), repetitive melody. Fotzepolitic, might be in 6, has motion and incomprehensible lyrics (actually all the songs have terrible articulation). Wolf in the Breast, melancholy slow groove, something about a baby. Road, River and Rail sounds like 6/waltz, minor key and haunting synth arpeggios. Frou frou Foxes in Midsummer has light airy vocals over heavy piano minor key instrumentation.
Pretty chill, guitar, piano?, drum, vocals. Unplugged sound. Some use of harmony/layered vocals (Attics of my Life). Country ish? (Tempo, twangy guitar) Maybe have heard some of these (dr. clr) Box of Rain seems like a (minor key) inspiration to Don't you Forget About Me? Guitars in Sugar Magnolia sound a little Elvis-y but lowkey. Ripple seems familiar. Bass notes go back and forth (slow polka?). Like the more uptempo sound of Till the Morning Comes. Like the triplets of Truckin, sounds familiar.
Got surprised by the melancholy, female vocals. All I Want is (twangy) guitars and subtle drum supported by soprano melody. Blues tells a personal story, filled in with piano instrumentation. More guitar in Little Green, chill vibe. Carey is more upbeat, introduces layered background vocals, uses guitar more for rhythm (same guitar as All I Want). More piano in Blue, feels like it ends soon. California, ukele? This Flight Tonight, more persistent guitar with rhythm. ACase of You, more or less "I can't get enough of you." Like the Christmas music reference (jingle bells) River, a song about the guilt of pushing away/hurting someone you love, like it a lot. The Last Time I Saw Richard, enjoy the piano instrumentation.
Clear vocals and story telling
Too High has jazz elements in instruments, but chaotic vocals. Visions is comparably calmer and more acoustically structured. Living For The City, nice tempo, structure and storytelling, drums and synths? Interesting interlude (real??). Golden Lady, piano bass drums, repetitive topline, how much can we modulate?. Higher Ground has funky sound, grooving bass. Jesus Children of America, funky synth, simple drums, background vocals. All In Love Is Fair, moody piano and simple drum chops, Don't You Worry Bout A Thing, latin beat with piano and drum. He's Misstra Know It All, chill piano, nice beat added in.
Like tempo of Good Times Bad Times and Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, especially like how latter starts off slow and moody and then becomes a jam with guitars and drums. You Shook Me is slower but still structured. Also he parrots the guitar which is both impressive and annoying. Dazed and Confused also starts slow but picks up. Your Time is Gonna Come, foreboding organ relaxes into acoustic guitar and drum groove, layered vocals in chorus. Black Side Mountain, acoustic guitar creates structured melodic chord outline, interlude. Communication Breakdown, 8th note guitar underneath poppier drums and guitars on off beat. I Can't Quit You Baby, waltz tempo, bass and drums interspersed with vocals and echo-y electric guitar. How Many More Times starts with groovy syncopated bass, guitar picks up riff, a bop.
Pretty good noise music for workout. More chaotic than Nevermind? Serve the Servants: classic rock guitar riff, hard to focus on words with drums. Scentless Apprentice: loud everything, not a fan of whatever is happening with the vocals. Heart Shaped Box: sounds familiar, moody guitar, subtle vocal harmony, build to classic Nirvana chorus. Rape Me: obvious tie back to Teen Spirit in guitar, drums and lyrics/story. France's Farmer: not sure what's happening lyrically, but I like the drums and guitar- again it seems to harken back to Teen Spirit. Dumb: also a similar progression to Teen Spirit, cello?, I prefer this style of vocals (cause I can understand the words...), slower tempo and more contemplative. Very Ape: dissonant vocals again, more sonically structured compared to other tracks. Milk It: I'm probably wrong but I feel like I'm hearing the same rhythm guitar. Pennyroyal Tea: acoustic guitar?, slower tempo but still loud as usual, nice bass in verse after chorus, still can't tell you what's happening lyrically, nice structure in guitar. Radio Friendly Unit Shifter: no to whatever that sound is at the beginning and the screeching beep, drunk vocals again, repetitive chorus. Tourette's: crashing drums, incomprehensible yelling, and rough electric guitars. All Apologies: bowed bass/cello, strummed electric guitar, slower tempo initially, rock chorus.
Easy listening.
