Popular Reviews

Hot Fuss by The Killers

I understand the appeal, but it will never be me. The sound of this album emulates the settings that play Mr. Bright side: claustrophobic rage rooms. The sound does open as the album progresses, creating some prettier moments.

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Dec 22 2025

Fun listen with smooth moments, nothing ground-breaking musically or lyrically

Machine Head by Deep Purple
Dec 23 2025

Blew my expectations away, gripping from start to finish. So many great riffs beyond “Smoke on the Water!”

Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Dec 24 2025

Fun album musically, but does not give the listener nearly enough to chew on to justify such a long tracklist. Album is bloated beyond belief, and holds bland instrumentation throughout

Dec 25 2025

Fun album musically, but does not give the listener nearly enough to chew on to justify such a long tracklist. Album is bloated beyond belief, and holds bland instrumentation throughout

Abraxas by Santana
Dec 27 2025

Spectacular sound, fun and concise listening experience!

I Am a Bird Now by Antony and the Johnsons
Dec 28 2025

Great sound and vibe.

Queens of the Stone Age by Queens Of The Stone Age
Dec 29 2025

Super great riffs and vocals, a bit bloated. Looking forward to returning to this one a lot

Dec 31 2025

Infectious and precise! Such a well-paced album and fantastic blend of styles. Loses some steam near the end.

Here Are the Sonics by The Sonics
Jan 01 2026

A pretty spotless rock record balancing experimentation with timeless styles. Phenomenal

Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos
Jan 02 2026

There’s talent, but this is a bit of a dry listening experience

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Jan 03 2026

Many of the songs sound similar but they’re all good for this reason too

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Jan 05 2026

I understand the appeal, but it will never be me. The sound of this album emulates the settings that play Mr. Bright side: claustrophobic rage rooms. The sound does open as the album progresses, creating some prettier moments.

Aha Shake Heartbreak by Kings of Leon
Jan 07 2026

Extremely dynamic and concise. Great listening experience with songs I’ll be returning to. Love it!

At Budokan by Cheap Trick
Jan 08 2026

I don’t usually love live albums but this one was great. Also my introduction to Cheap Trick

Jan 09 2026

Generally empty and repetitive. This is musically stable, but there isn’t much to latch on to or appreciate. The dynamic melodies are often unsatisfying, leaving very few songs worth returning to.

Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
Jan 10 2026

Nice groove throughout but the songs drag a little. It’s a nice album to put on here and there, but I don’t see myself playlisting too many of these tracks.

Document by R.E.M.
Jan 13 2026

Great sound the whole time, but a little one-dimensional. I wouldn’t recommend listening past the hits of this album

Bert Jansch by Bert Jansch
Jan 14 2026

Great album but not really my thing

McCartney by Paul McCartney
Jan 16 2026

I like the album, but it doesn’t have the same magic as the Beatles’ albums

At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters
Jan 18 2026

I don’t love a live album but this is a good one

The Libertines by The Libertines
Jan 19 2026

Some highs, some uninspired moments. Overall good

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Jan 20 2026

One time my high school US history teacher kicked all of the girls out of the classroom and played his “super manly man” playlist that was just the Allman Brothers

Penance Soiree by The Icarus Line
Jan 21 2026

This album is intense and gritty. I can hear the quality, but I’m not interested in returning regularly.

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Jan 22 2026

Insanely good beats, some solid bars and flows across the board. I see why it is beloved, but there are better hip hop albums out there

Exit Planet Dust by The Chemical Brothers
Jan 23 2026

Such a cool album! The balance of instrumentals, electric and electronic, rock and techno, wow! I’m loving the sound, unlike anything I’ve listened to before

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Jan 24 2026

Super cool techno-jazz sort of sound

Live! by Fela Kuti
Jan 28 2026
In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Feb 01 2026

Obviously greatness but just doesn’t make a good album

The Cars by The Cars
Feb 03 2026

Impossibly catchy songs

Lazer Guided Melodies by Spiritualized
Feb 06 2026

This album feels a little to heavy to be a psychedelic listen. The droning harmonies aren’t taking me anywhere, and the listen feels more like a drag

Bummed by Happy Mondays
Feb 09 2026
Diamond Life by Sade
Feb 10 2026

Pretty elite in every sense. The band’s atmosphere is unbeatable

The Real Thing by Faith No More
Feb 12 2026

One of the best metal albums I’ve ever heard, 2/5

Definitely Maybe by Oasis
Feb 14 2026

Claustrophobic guitar parts and corny vocal deliveries. Oasis have created a world only they could create with this one.

Gasoline Alley by Rod Stewart
Feb 16 2026

Well-written album with good execution and form. Maybe a little bland, but it’s a solid, cohesive project.

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Feb 17 2026

This is an achievement in pop-rock musicality!

Trans Europe Express by Kraftwerk
Feb 18 2026

Impressive statement experimentation piece! This group layers many sounds with rhythms and timbres that don’t seem musical in such an intricate way that the texture feels complete and driving while keeping the tangible, industrial feel. I’d love to see this type of work in more approachable, musical applications, but I am impressed with this as it is! I disagree with the notion that this album represents the gesamkunstwerk style, since it lacks melodic features and true style/talent in vocals/instrumentation and form. In fact, I’d call the album a dull listen as a whole because of these omissions. This is truly a proof of concept, not a masterpiece.

Imagine by John Lennon
Feb 20 2026

Despite every indication, this is not “Imagine: The Album,” this is a diverse, artistic masterpiece. John Lennon can tell a story without even speaking a word

Songs Of Love And Hate by Leonard Cohen
Feb 23 2026

There’s no musical payoff. This might as well be an audiobook with a garage band instrumental loop

Dog Man Star by Suede
Feb 25 2026

I was nervous going in because the description pointed to reviews calling this album “pretentious,” but I don’t hear that at all. It is gorgeous, cinematic, accessible psychedelic rock music. Even the dissonant moments are euphonic, which is impressive.
