Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Feb 17 2026

after reading about what Brian Wilson was going through in his marriage and mental health at the time, this album is a bit darker than it sounds. still vibin tho

Sunshine Superman by Donovan
Feb 18 2026

'sunshine superman' is great, but holy shit Donovan cool it with the fuckin sitar. I get it, you went to India and had a whole 'spiritual enlightenment' and you're friends with the fuckin Beatles and Bob goddamn Dylan. shut up

Feb 20 2026

Ramones by Ramones
Mar 09 2026

I can appreciate the cultural impact while also saying "this ain't for me"

The Rise & Fall by Madness
Mar 11 2026

only giving it two stars for Our House. the rest of this was incomprehensible.

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Mar 13 2026

good god this whole album just oozes sex

War by U2
Mar 16 2026

If I HAVE to listen to a U2 album, this one isn't the worst

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Mar 17 2026

man's got a VOICE

The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter by The Incredible String Band
Mar 18 2026

A blend of irish folk, minstrel music, and another 60s bands that discovered the sitar and really shouldn't have. That said, there was a lot of variety here and the album certainly wasn't boring. Would I listen to it again? Probably not. Will I remember it? For the rest of my goddamn life.

Blood, Sweat & Tears by Blood, Sweat & Tears
Mar 19 2026

I feel like I should have enjoyed this more than I did. A few standouts, but nothing really pulled me in. Felt like it was missing something.

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
Mar 20 2026

I wanted to like this more than I did, but most of the music was pretty forgettable. Love and Affection was nice

Mar 27 2026

I enjoyed this more than most of the britpop on this list, but it did fall flat for the second half of the album.

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Mar 30 2026

good god, 'Soubour' is a fuckin BOP

Low by David Bowie
Apr 01 2026
The Next Day by David Bowie
Apr 02 2026

Good, because it's Bowie, but... kind of lackluster? I think I'm definitely more of a Ziggy Stardust era fan.

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Apr 06 2026

Not bad, but nothing really stood out.

B-52's by The B-52's
Apr 07 2026
KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Apr 08 2026

Had never heard of him before, but wow what beautiful soul/blues. Heard echoes of bill withers in there, incredible percussion. Truly a great album

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Apr 09 2026

"It's Tricky" and "Walk This Way" are certified bangers, but listening to the entire album was kind of exhausting.

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Apr 14 2026

way too long. So many songs just blend into one another. Not the worst, but overrated to me.

Kollaps by Einstürzende Neubauten
Apr 17 2026

what

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Apr 21 2026

fun, just not my cup of tea. First half was great, second half got a bit weird.

Tago Mago by Can
Apr 22 2026

First half: oh nice, some funk and jazz and rock going on, cool experimental beats Second half: where am I. what's happening. the Void has taken me

The Specials by The Specials
Apr 23 2026

fun ska, a rollickin good time, but probably not something I'll listen to again.

Dry by PJ Harvey
Apr 29 2026
1984 by Van Halen
May 05 2026
xx by The xx
May 11 2026

I really wanted this to be better than it was. Intro is obviously a banger, but the rest seemed to be missing something. I'm not knowledgeable enough in music theory to know what was missing, only that it felt like a soup without salt.

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
May 12 2026

That was so much fun

Colour By Numbers by Culture Club
May 13 2026

Good, but that's a lot of synth pop. 'Romance Revisited' at the end of the remastered version was a refreshing touch.

Lady In Satin by Billie Holiday
May 14 2026

very one-note, but god what a voice. wouldn't listen to this one again but would listen to her all day

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
May 18 2026

this is not for me.

Bad by Michael Jackson
May 19 2026
White Light by Gene Clark
May 20 2026

inoffensive and easy listening (with the exception of that awful Stand By Me cover). not bad, but unclear to me why it's on this list

Boston by Boston
May 25 2026
The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles
May 26 2026

Great listen, although the big band stuff can get a little much after a while

Moondance by Van Morrison
May 28 2026

super fun folk

Medúlla by Björk
May 29 2026

I quite like "where is the line"

Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis
Jun 02 2026

god that was amazing

Permission to Land by The Darkness
Jun 03 2026

"I believe in a thing called love" and "friday night" are bangers, but an entire album of this is a bit much for a tuesday morning

Guero by Beck
Jun 09 2026

i liked this a lot more than I expected. "Go It Alone" slaps

Kenza by Khaled
Jun 10 2026

Pretty good! Too long, but I liked the overall vibe and found myself unexpectedly enjoying that Imagine cover

Hypnotised by The Undertones
Jun 12 2026

Would've been 3 stars, but that Under the Boardwalk cover was actually a crime.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Jun 15 2026

One of the greatest

Everything Must Go by Manic Street Preachers
Jun 17 2026

another brit-pop album featuring man who can't actually sing, saying absolutely nothing.

Rock Bottom by Robert Wyatt
Jun 18 2026

'Sea song' was an adventure. I appreciate something different and experimental

Cross by Justice
Jun 19 2026
System Of A Down by System Of A Down
Jun 26 2026

I get the influence and importance, but this genre is just not for me.

Live And Dangerous by Thin Lizzy
Jun 29 2026

Not a big fan of live albums, but this one is pretty good. Made for good background music while working

Veckatimest by Grizzly Bear
Jul 02 2026

definitely would have loved this when it came out, and there are a few great hits on here

Fuzzy Logic by Super Furry Animals
Jul 08 2026

A little bit better than some of the other generic sounding brit pop/rock. The second half of the album contained some actual interesting songs. But it's a generous 3 stars

Brothers by The Black Keys
Jul 09 2026
Stankonia by OutKast
Jul 16 2026

Soft four for the bangers, but the album overall is far too long

The Cars by The Cars
Jul 17 2026

nice little groovy album of bangers. short and sweet

C'est Chic by CHIC
Jul 21 2026

funky disco vibes, but a bit long winded and very same-y

Harvest by Neil Young
Jul 22 2026
I Against I by Bad Brains
Jul 24 2026

Not a huge punk fan, or rather don't know too much about punk, but I found myself enjoying this more than I thought

1999 by Prince
Jul 28 2026

good album and lots of bangers for sure, but you could really trim 2 minutes off of each song and it would be way cleaner

Jul 29 2026

Second half took it to 4 stars for me. 'By the River' and 'Through Hollow Lands' really got me

The New Tango by Astor Piazzolla
Jul 30 2026

Wow, that was super interesting!

Electric by The Cult
Jul 31 2026

Fine, except for that awful Born to Be Wild cover. Why??

Aug 04 2026

am I missing something? also what is it with these albums where it's a whiny dude who can't sing

Central Reservation by Beth Orton
Aug 05 2026

Some beautiful sweet sad songs on here, but really dragged in the second half. Opening track was the best

Live At Leeds by The Who
Aug 06 2026

Fine, it's The Who, but live albums just shouldn't be on this list imo

Aug 07 2026

The Man Comes Around and Hurt are incredible, but there a lot of 'eh' covers on this. Trim it down a bit and it's much higher.

Lam Toro by Baaba Maal
Aug 13 2026

Not knowing the context of the album, it's hard to give a full fair review - but in a vacuum, it was a fun listen

Aug 14 2026

I actually like coldplay, and Clocks and The Scientist were great, but I was really let down by the rest of this. Felt like a lot of filler.
