Nice Big Band vibe. Considering it was recorded at the dawn of the HiFi era sound is remarkably clear and crisp
Classic Jazz standard. The time signature changes in the title song seems to have inspired future generations or Progressive rock and jazz fusion groups
Didn't much care for it back when it was new but I'll give it another start after a good listen. It def rocks
Interesting. Not sure how to classify it. Not a bad listen but a little too bass heavy, takes away from the other instruments and vocals
When I was in elementary school the Monkees were the thing. The show, the 1st few albums, the singles were all over the radio. Kinda started my musical journey. Anyway in hindsight I now know the Monkees were a made up band with studio musicians playing other peoples songs. This album wasn't up to the original Monkees that I remember from my youth.
When it first came out I really didn't like it. Thought it a difficult listen. Hearing it now it's a little easier on the ears but I still find his vocalizations sleep inducing.
Good album. The new mix sounds better.
It was boring/ awful. Couldn't finish it. No point just synths.
One of my favorite Queen Albums. Loved the sides labeled white and black. Very hard rock for queen. Queen was learning how to use a studio as an instrument. Best to listen thru headphones.
Knew this as the Beano album back in the day. Always a fun listen.
Don't usually like dance music but this was very good
One of the best R&B albums of the 70s
My father was a huge county music fan so I heard the originals of most of these songs but these fully orchestrated versions are on another level.
Reminds me of early Dylan.
A nice album if you want something low playing in the background. Nice live performance
I was working in a record store when this album came out, it was played constantly so listening again brought back old memories. That being said it's not an album the I have downloaded.
Not her best album but very good. She is a local from where I come from and use to see her live frequently. Great live show
Even if I could understand the lyrics, the music is repetitive beats and no dynamics.
An album I owned. It's a shame she died so young.
Didn't know what to expect but wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Interesting vocals, rhythms, and lyrics.
I think the best MJ album. I actually have a download of this.
One of my favorite late 80s albums. Always wonder why he wasn't a bigger star.
One of my friends, favorite group, never did get it, though, when your best song is girlfriend in a coma that should be enough
Never heard or Robbie Williams but enjoyed this record.
I really don't like jam bands. I couldn't finish this.
Not Bowie's best. Not even in the top 10.
Typical fun early 80's synth pop.
This a strange album. Think of 40's crooners singing Zappa.
As a concept album, kind of weak, but as a collection of songs that were ahead of their time, one of the best albums made.
The first two track, a brilliant opening to the concept but nothing else until
The next to last track. Lucy in the Sky was one of my favorite songs way back when. Getting Better, Fixing and Hole and Mr Kite could be considered fillers except the vocal techniques and studio as another instrument make them great. She's Leaving Home is like good literature packed in to 3 1/2 minutes.
When side two opens with Within You it sounds like nothing ever heard. When I'm 64, Lovely Rita are again exceptional story telling. When I was young a progressive FM station started every morning with Good Morning. It was fantastic. A day in the Life is another great song as literature. Add one of the coolest album jackets in history and this is the watershed album of the 60's.
A message in the lyrics but the music, meh
Great song sung by a good singer, production could have been better though
I remember the folk music scare from the late 60's. The crap almost caught on.
Anyway this was a difficult listen and I'll admit to listening thru maybe half a song before I skipped ahead.
The album starts with some of the best two songs of the 70's. Then fizzles with a bunch of filler until the song Best of My Love. Friends of mine loved this record. I couldn't get into it after the first songs. The Eagles would have so many better albums.
Apparently this is the Elvis of Pakistan. The man can sing but without lyric translations it was a difficult listen.
An excellent example of Progresive rock that leans heavier on the rock side. Some of the best drumming ever put down on a record.
A little partial because I've seen them twice in concert at M3. If you like real heavy metal music you'll love this. I've never been a huge metal fan and this album doesn't capture their live energy but it's decent
One of the better late 60's albums. A shame they had such a brief run. The album had some filler but mostly great songs.
Heard this album many times over the years. Some of the songs are fantastic. Some are ok at best. It would have made a great single album and as a matter of fact me and many of my friends did a self edit when we recorded it onto cassette tape. Making it a single album or good songs.
What a fun album. Punk you could dance too.
One on the better albums from the 90s. A shame he passed away before he could make more music.
The best of the Mothers albums and one of the best Zappa albums. This album parodies everything and that's part of the fun
Once you get past the overly long awful title song it got more interesting
Been a while since I heard this album and I forgot how good it was. A amazing voice gone too soon.
I think this is one of the finest records to come out in the past 25 years.
Eclectic and and easy listen, lots of good hooks
I know at the time it was released it was considered ground breaking. I've never been a punk rock fan and this is awful
This was the first Queen album I ever heard. Turned me on to them but I always listened to other albums from them when I needed a fix. Been a while since I heard it and it was just as good as remember.
Listened to this on a spin bike and great music for that, got the heart pumping. Fun record
I would call this more garage rock, then punk rock but boy was there a lot of songs on this album overall not horrible
Not a good listen, the overwhelming bass hid any traces of decent vocal arrangement and the droning rhythm didn't help
This is the first non-compilation album I've ever listened too by Bob Marley, I had a couple of greatest hits records. Very good.
Some songs were ok, others not so much.
Good album. The forefathers of the California country rock sound. Lots of talented members of this group
One of Neil's best and more mellow albums.
I'm was never a Lou Reed fan and an album about drug addition just a turn off.
A good Bowie album. Not his best but still good.
I liked it takes a Nation of Millions better. This one started strong and got meh as it went on.
Slick production and clever videos propelled this album back in the MTV days and the songs are pretty good. The music does wear on you after awhile. Although this isn't part of the review there are one of the worst band to see live.
Ok, I little sleep inducing, be a good album to play for insomniacs.
Interesting album. Sounds great in headphones. I enjoyed it
Always liked this album. Not his best by a long shot but good
1971 was the best year in music IMHO and this album was one of many excellent albums released that year. The music flows from one some to another, the lyrics strong. A wonderful album
I've never heard her music, only seen her acting, and was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed this album.
Not a Southern Rock fan but, if you wanted to recommend a S.Rock album to someone it would be this one.
Back when I was a kid, my dad loved George Jones, I think he owned every record of his. I did not like him or any country music, I was rock and roll or nothing. Listening now it's a little easier on the ears and maybe it nostalgia talking that gives this 3 stars
If you want know how Heavy Metal started, this record is the answer. I think this album was the most borrowed/ recorded among my friends
When this album came out there was nothing that sounded like it. I was attracted to it because as a drummer, I loved anything with percussion and the album is loaded with it
Never heard this album before and listened to it while on a spin bike and really enjoyed it. It was fun and weird sounded good in headphones
Probably the best engineered and best sounding analog recordings ever made. It was always used to audition new speakers or other equipment. Great songs too
Not sure what he was singing, but he sang it very well.
Never like Masekela's sound. Can't explain why.
Music was meh but I gave her an extra star for beating up JayZ
Never a big Smiths fan. Lots of friends loved them but couldn't get into them. A couple good songs and that's it. Still this is their best album.
Ok is the best way to describe it. I was expecting something as ground breaking as Marvin Gaye What's Going On but this ain't that
I didn't care much for this album when it was released. Worked in a record store and maybe it was overplayed or my tastes were different. Listening to it now I see I was wrong. It's a very good album.
I guess this was fresh and raw back in the 60's but all of it sounds the same to me. Never been a Ramones fan and a fresh listen hasn't changed that.
A fun listen, typical late 80's.
I like Snoop Dog as a personality but never head any of his albums. I was really hoping this would be good but aside from a few catchy hooks, the lyrics are just god awful. What a disappointment.
Not sure why this Radiohead album was chosen to be on this list. OK Computer was probably the best album released in the past 30 years. Kid A was almost as good. This was a difficult listen.
Again I've never been a fan of punk rock. I have heard some later Public Image songs I liked but there are none on this record
Never heard of this artist or record. It was fun listen.
Weirdly interesting in places. The songs were mercifully short but there was a lot of them. The cabaret style and calling it Tank Battles conjured up visions of Nazis all grooving to this. Not a good look and I'd give 1 and half stars if I could
This is a perfectly fine album but an old friend had the album and wanted a recording of it, I made a cassette of it and every where we went she played the tape. To say I got sick of it is an understatement. This fresh listen decades later didn't soften me up.
Great singer and the album was nice background music for inside activities but it is overly long. Still not bad.
