All instrumental, not my thing!
Yeah was alright. No repeat value worthy songs, but she’s alright if you like that
Upbeat, happy and not bad at all
Who doesn’t like a bit of Elvis. Funky and upbeat songs, easy listening
Not for me
Turned it off. Rubbish
Was alright actually, enjoyed the samples on some songs
Threshold must be low for albums in the 70s. 10 minute long songs who can be bothered??
Listenable for background music, didn’t hate it
It’s not usually my kind of thing, started out a bit weird, then kinda got into it a little. Kendrick cameo gave an extra point, but nothing on there worth repeating for me
My attention span does not cope well with songs over 8+ minutes sorry! Then an interview at the end? I’m ok thanks - I’m sure he’s very good at what he does!
Yeah I’m sure it was good in the 70s, and they’re good at what they do. Would I listen again, maybe just the hits.
The highs were high, the lows were low. Can see why the picked the hits to release, strong points were when the female vocals features. Underwhelming the rest
A really strong pop album, the hits are timeless, Beyoncé’s vocals really the stand outs, some industry cycled out crap in there towards the end though
The Beatles are always gonna be mid to high for me, fun songs, easy listening
I hope this is the end of Miles Davis, it’s not for me. 20 minutes of jazz per song. No thanks
Ok, not bad, entirely forgettable though
Top album, from a top musician
Noise pollution
I’m not sure I understand the whole pink Floyd stuff first time I’ve ever properly listened to it, just shows music has evolved perhaps for the better
Alright in terms of this generation of music, pretty much just like the Beatles
I didn’t hate it
Entirely forgettable
Enjoyed it, hits were good remember it well when it came out. Few repeat worthy tracks there
Strong start then faded
Really enjoyed this, added to some high upbeat playlists for running
Awful. Like some sort of nursery class music for kids
Eminem’s best work, first album where nostalgia takes over, loved it then, love it now
Maybe I enjoyed it more than the last Pink Floyd I was generated but it’s still nothing really for me
Normally a fan of hip hop, but this seems so off the mark of where American hip hop would be at this time, lyrics wouldn’t have been fine today, so a bit cringe, was a chore to finish it
Yeah it was alright, I didn’t hate it, listenable
Ok, wouldn’t listen to it again. Not my type of music
Voice and harmonica was just annoying
Spoken word poetry with backing music = no thanks
Fine for a hip hop album I guess
Not sure I understand the whole concept album thing, do we need a whole album dedicated to this?
Unnecessary noise in parts, but not the worst thing this has generated for me so far
Enjoyed it, few good tracks in there
I’ve been waiting for something iconic from a well known band, that I haven’t listened to before, and this wasn’t it. I do think these bands are held to a higher regard due to the lack of diversity and choice there was
It’s not really my kind of music that I’d listen to normally but enjoyed the upbeat happy nature of it, very relaxing
I enjoyed it more than Bob Dylan anyway, although there was a lot of heavy noise, there was some catchy beats in there
A bit boring, nothing spectacular
Pleasantly surprised by this one, hadn’t heard of the artist before, some catchy songs in there, very listenable
Noisy and French. Terrible
I’d rate this 0 if I could. Every song when it started sounded like the previous, it had nothing going for it whatsoever. Incredibly boring and tedious
Never really listened to David Bowie in full, so really wasn’t sure what I was expecting, although it was listenable, I was expecting to be blown away massively by this but I wasn’t.
A masterpiece in my opinion, have listened many times before, so I knew what I was in for, but still everything very repeatable. A absolute classic
Entirely forgettable
Thought this was really good, beats were catching and the lyrics were powerful. Had never really listened to much of the artists before, but exactly what this daily challenge is for, discovering new music, and I’m here for it
The conventional stuff was fine, but there was some disturbing lyrics in places, overall fine - better than some of the other stuff I’ve had generated.
Music to fall asleep to, my god that was pretty boring. Let’s face it if that was released in the modern era we’d be laughing at the lyrics. Sinatra just got in there first cos there was like 10 songs out, most sound the same with no variety.
Really enjoyed this, first time listener, and would definitely put it on again
It was fine, knew what I was expecting though
Such a poweful album, I knew it very well before starting this. The lyrics and the vocals are just incredible with the backing guitar riffs too. Very impressive that this is also a debut album!
A 15 minute album, all seems not very serious at all. Mostly all the same style of song, shouting into the mic. Perhaps rolled out from the industry at the time if punk rock is on top, but this just seems very lazy and repetitive
Thought I would enjoy this a lot more than I did, London calling such an iconic song, and they couldn’t maintain it through the whole album
First time listener, really enjoyed the different riffs with the lyrics, both vocals complimented each other well.
I don’t think this is Kanye’s best album, but it did lay the foundations to what he becomes, and it’s a very good listen, although it’s one of those with only a few repeatable tracks, and more of a story line through it. Have to give it a 5
Was only ok for me, would I listen again? Probably not
It was fine, about what I expected for an album released in this era
was a bit of a chore to finish, I’m sure she’s exactly like Adele but in the 1960s. Good at what she does, but not for me
Far far far too weird for me
Enjoyed this one, heard a couple of tracks before, but good vibes all round
Jazz? No thanks
It was a strong start, then faded.
Average
Really good album, by a really good musician!
It did sound a bit generic and like every other rock act from this era, however there were times with some good riffs and tunes to keep me interested
Found the whole thing entirely weird, no wonder that generations views on woman stemmed for a future generation of “you can’t say anything now” felt like I was in an adult nursery class being held by a cockney geezer.
I feel like I’m supposed to like The Beatles, society says they are one of the greatest bands. I’m sure they shaped music for generations ahead of them, but I was expecting a lot more from this album. A couple of good tracks, Eleanor Rigby is a classic, yellow submarine let’s face it, if that was released today, we’d be all going wtf is that?
It was a little underwhelming from what I was expecting, from what I knew from the artist, some good 90s hip hop in there but long instrumental parts that were a chore to finish
Went in with an open mind on this one, as we all know who Taylor Swift is. Her music isn’t for me at all, have heard of the hits through general life. My thoughts are the entire album singing about one thing, there isn’t any variety in the songs whatsoever, I suspect the other albums are like that too. God forbid this wedding doesn’t work out or that bloke will find himself another three albums written about him
A decent pop record for its time, the hits were massive, and a powerful singer, with good meaningful lyrics!
It was ok for this era of music, but very middle of the road
Found this incredibly boring. Thought the beach boys were this upbeat lively band, but this album sure isn’t it
Middle of the road stuff, was fine!
Strange lyrics, this psychedelic era churned out some god awful music. Then out came the harmonica as if it couldn’t get any worse.
Get an additional point for some good beats but that’s all it’s going for it
Enjoyed this one, some really catchy hooks, and samples.
Really was nothing special a bloke with a guitar, didn’t really do anything for me
Ok for a hip hop album, although it’s not my kind of hip hop
Ok, it was a bit repetitive in the sense of let’s sing as many songs about shagging as this album will allow. But it’s easy listening
Absolutely not for me
I thought it had potential, then it just got a bit silly. Once again proving music from this era was incredibly weird and cringe
A couple of decent songs in there, matched the vibe I’d associate for music around this time, didn’t hate it.
Very samey, not entirely sure what she was singing about at some points. Too mellow for my liking!
First listen in full, aware of Missy’s future work, where it is better. It was fine, collabs held up well too
Really liked this album, a fine story told from start to finish
First time listener to this, I actually quite enjoyed it. Is he in the prison because he shot a man, and possibly his wife too? I saw live album, and sank a little, but it was good. Even the harmonica was fine, because it was not fine for Bob Dylan live, but an overall great listen
Terrible. Quite frankly it had lost me by the second song, repeating “would you like some sweets Willy?”for the entire track! Whoever thought that this was deserving of a place in the 1001 albums you need to listen to, should be shot
Got annoying real quick, just another knock off punk band from this era. Rinse and repeat
It grew on me the further I went into the album, thought this was just another country pop artist, but I definitely found myself vibing for a couple
Not my kind of music, found the vocals quite annoying too
A bit dull with not lot going for it, but I’d expect that for someone basically speaking a song to background music
Unnecessarily noisy
Punk bands from this era will always get a low score from me
Found it a bit mundane really, was expecting more
