Reviews (page 15 of 15)

Kinda crappy synth. The vocals were way down in the mix (probably because his voice isn't very good)

couple alright old school punk songs but overall rather forgettable

Hard 5. Where da 6 at?

did not like

Gloomy as all hell but fantastic. Ian Curtis's voice really makes the album.

Here's an album that I might've enjoyed more at another time in my life or when I was feeling more jovial in general. Today's listen put it in the 2 star category, as the vibe just didn't jive with me.

Still don't get it. Some interesting production choices, but would benefit from a few more chords and a lot less of Ian Curtis' vocals.

Dark, and rolling. I felt like I should be sitting on a tie-dye couch smoking a fat one with some guy under a funky light. Reminded me a bit of the Smiths.

Actually a bit disappointed. For such a legendary album from a band that I like, I would have expected to be blown away. But I could not really get into it.

Eh it was okay. I've seen this mountain album art on like 100 shirts, I don't think they are all fans it just looks cool

This definitely was a prelude to the 80s. Not terrible not great

Classic.

I kept getting B-52 vibes. It was an album, alright.

Not usually my cup of tea, but this is really solid.

I feel like I'm SUPPOSED to like Joy Division. On paper, at least. They were the front wave of the post-punk movement and it shows. It's still mostly punk. But something about it just ... doesn't hit. I think it's mostly that it's missing the sheer, nihilistic joy of punk music. Instead, it's unrelentingly dark and moody. It's not bad and, if I were in the right mood, I imagine this would absolutely hit some buttons. But I'm not generally in a dark depressed mood so, instead, I'm left just feeling "meh" about it.

Never understood the appeal of these guys

Really quite nice. I should have known I would enjoy this.

I was dreading this when I saw it come up but honestly not that bad! had only ever heard Closer before. Still prefer Bauhaus or early Cure from this scene.

Know it, love it

Not as good as the follow up
