Smile
Brian WilsonPhenomenal. Animal Collective owes him so much
Phenomenal. Animal Collective owes him so much
Didn't like it. Didn't get it.
It was pretty good. No song really compared to do it again
Excellent. Modern yet still Bowie. Look into if he knew he was dying, would make it much more haunting.
It was fine. Not my thing. Glad I heard it tho
Not sure why this one was included, honestly. So many better albums by bowie
Surprisingly good. Very dark. Great for rdr2 rambling
Love it. Loved it the first time. That said White Elephant better make the list too.
Too 80s. Not my vibe. It was the drums I think that made it sound stale.
Very chill. Enjoyed it. Good background music to work to.
Loved it in HS. Gotta get some songs on playlists
Very 90s. Wasn't a huge fan of it.
Great work out tunes. Forgot how much Knights of Cydonia whips ass
Yes. Gimme all of that you got.
Good. Very late 60s. I'd heard Fire and Rain before.
Based. But Mdou Moctar and Tinariwen better be on the list too
Had mostly listened to Clocks but this was phenomenal.
Great as the Stones ever were
Nothing stood out as incredible. Nothing stood out as terrible
Better that like a prayer. Not my shit tho. British house vibes.
Loved it
Very good. Charlie brown Christmas vibes
I can never distinguish one iron maiden song from another. Can tell it's technically good but not for me
Only one song on spotify
Never was a big fan. I think the blogotheque show ruined it for me. Guy seemed like an ass
Very 80s but in a good way
It was fine. Nothing blew me away
Didn't like it. Didn't get it.
Love this album but it shouldn't be on this list. Especially not at the expense of Kid A/In Rainbows/the Bends
Not my thing.
Phenomenal
Liked common people, rest was just ok
Phenomenal. Animal Collective owes him so much
It was fine. I wouldn't include it
Good. Should not be on the list. Especially if there's no Mdou Moctar or Tinariwen
Whole album kinda sounded the same. That might be sacrilege, but meh
Very chill. See where Thiago Petit gets it from
It was fine. Not sure why it's on the list tho
Big Grandaddy vibes.
Took me back to college dance parties
Just doesn't hit like it did in HS
Wonder if Willie Bobo is on the list.
kinda all sounds the same
Loved it
I wonder if everyone that hadn't already revealed this album got it today. RIP Ozzy. Album was fine. Good even. Not one of the 1001 best albums of all time. Certainly shouldn't be on this list over Paranoid or Black Sabbath.
No business being on this list.
Fine. Nothing stood out as great or awful
Give me all of that you got. Also the way I rushed to the reviews... Loved all the boomer refusals to even try and listen. "ITs jUsT tHAt RaP CraP AbOUt ShOoTinG GuNs aNd dIsReSpECtiNg WomEn" This whole list is just a self congratulatory jerk off by boomers to pretend their music was the best thing that ever happened. And so much of it is pure ass. There is absolutely no reason for Neil Young to be on this list 9 times.
Nothing terrible. Nothing inspiring. Derivative 60s psyrock
Good. College dance party vibes. Too relentlessly positive for me, tho.
Nothing stood out
Good. Bluesy. Didn't hit like it did in HS but I still dig it
Slaps. Just as good as the first time I heard it blowing smoke out of my window in hs. RIP Budster.
Historically I get why it was included. Musically I dont. 1 great song on the album. Not one of the best 1001 albums of all time. No way he should be on here 9 times.
The 60s really had a sound. It's overrepresented on this list. Nothing incredible. Nothing terrible.
The late 00's had a distinctive sound, great high water mark for the indie scene. This isn't the best of it, tho. Nothing terrible but not a top 1000 album of all time. Better than a lot of the boomer slop that is all over this list but that's a low bar.
Being the father of Jeff Buckley is probably enough reason to be on the list. Historically speaking that is interesting enough. Gives some context to his much more talented son. But knowing that he was such a massive PoS (only met his son once) makes his music almost impossible to listen to. And it's fine. Would probably be interesting even if I didn’t know the artist's history. Lyrics are very 14 yr old boy talking about all the sex he would have if he had sex. I'm sure he has other albums on the list because of how overrepresented this generation of musician is on the list, but surely this one could have been left off in favor of another of his albums.
Some albums have a lock on a particular place / time. This one will always remind me of rainy mornings at the Village. It could not be further from the music I normally gravitate to, but it will always have a soft spot in my heart because of those memories.
Good as it was in high school. Plant and Page are probably praying the outrage archeologists have retired by the time they pass.
From the first note, no. This album shouldn't be on here. The first one, xx, was a masterpiece. Captured everyone. Absolutely should be one of the 1001 best albums of all time. Not this. I really think whoever curated this list is just a single person and couldnt possibly explore that many different artists. So, they found the next best records from bands that put out phenomenal records and included that. In some cases it works. This isn't one of those cases. It's fine but not one of the 1001 best
Good. Not my cup of tea but objectively good.
Sappy pop songs for 80s teenage coming of age flicks.
Fun listen. Defo belongs on this list. Doesn't hit like it did in HS but then I'm not 16 anymore
Where dad and I diverged on Wilco. If A Ghost is Born is not on this list the whole thing is a crock. Music was fine. Billy Bragg just doesnt do it for me. It's protest music for liberals who still believe in 'the power of art' and think their witty rhymes on signs are gonna stop a fucking genocide.
This is the type of shit I'm here for. Fun album. Will definitely start making the rotation.
Interesting sound. Not my typical but not bad. Don't know much about Krautrock, probably not gonna go deeper than this.
I've done enough acid to get how this was structured after an acid trip(or whatever psychedelic he was doing). Just not anymore kind of music I would ever want to listen to while tripping. Psychedelic circus music.
Pure nostalgia. This was one of the albums you had to have an opinion on to be taken seriously by the hipsters in college. Was always obvious that they were performing a mix of the best parts of others' opinions and probably hardly listened to it. Which was sad because I played it probably 200 times that semester. And then it disappeared for me. My tastes changed, it was tucked away, never revisited. Glad it made this list.
Can we vote for albums to be removed? Seriously. This was probably the worst I've heard on this list so far. Absolutely no reason to be on this list. Could definitely be on a list of "albums that were trying to be the Beatles," tho.
It's fine.
Yep
Loved it. Always thought it was from the early aughts indie revival. Never realized it was from the 70s. Of course the boomers slept on one of the best artists of their era.
Meh
Really wanted to like it more that I did. It was ok
Man Dylan just doesnt do it for me anymore
Boomer slop
What I'm here for. Will 100% look for this album in Half Price, etc.
Lol, all the WhItE pPl mAkInG BlAcK pPL's mUSic takes are so stale. We get it, you went to college. One used to learn how to have an original thought there. Album is great. Deserves to be on this list, but not the only one. Still a crock that Neil Young has 9 albums on this list. Thickfreakness, Rubber Factory, Magic Potion, Chulahoma, El Camino, Turn Blue. All better than anything Young ever did. The obvious gen Z / Millennial reviews are getting worse than the boomers. Jfc
