Aladdin Sane
David BowieIt was OK but I like some of Bowie's other songs much better.

Really good. Some bangers.
Just OK. Probably would not listen to them again tbh
Great album. Thought it was weird that this album was there instead of one of their earlier ones, or an album that had a super famous hit they had. But still a banger of an album.
When I was in High School this would have been a banger. I loved Metallica then and couldn't get enough. When I was in college it would have still been great. But now? It's kind of meh. One is still a banger but the rest of the album was kind of meh. Also I think this is not the most influential Metallica album out there.
It was good. Really good. But the "take a famous band and play their third best album" bit is getting old.
Killer album. It was great when it came out and it has stood the test of time. I also agree with the critic's pick on this one. Great choice from a great band.
Meh. They should have said the music critics that rated these albums had a member of De La Soul in them.
If I could give this album a 0 star I would. Boring and uneventful. Sad and pathetic. Bad and worse.
It was acceptable. I think it is on the list because it was listed in High Fidelity, which Adam pointed out.
Phenomenal album. Steve Earle is seriously underrated. Glad to see him on here.
Thought it would be worse than it was but was pleasantly surprised. Not something I would normally listen to but I did like it.
It started off great, then it went south fast. I was actually liking the first song a ton and felt like it had a Beatles vibe to it. But song 10 I wanted to pour bleach into my ears and cry in the corner to make it stop. Few songs were familiar to me and have heard before. Please let today be better.
It was good. Heard most of the songs before and can see why it would be very influential. The thing I kept coming back to is "surely this isn't from 1978 is it" and then I realized I am old. Good album.
Had low expectations for this one when I saw it, but was pleasantly surprised. Maybe that is the secret - go in without any expectations? Either way, I liked it. Not sure I would put it on a constant rotation but it was good.
Thought it was good. Better than I expected. Solid.
Phenomenal. Love Johnny cash. At first I had trouble thinking why this album was picked instead of his many others. A Boy Named Sue was his top most hit in his career and that debuted on this album though (had to look that one up). The infamous Johnny Cash shooting a bird was from this show. I know that one because I had that poster in high school because I thought I was cool and my mom allowed it. Also - can you imagine the blowback if a musician tried to play in prisons today? Wild.
Complete banger. The hidden gem of this whole thing so far to me. Didn’t really know him but was hooked on the first album. Could hear how he influenced so many through his music as it reminded me of a lot of different musicians.
It was good. Like some of his other stuff better. My knock against it was that it was too “musical” and not enough action. I know this is weird since I am a huge Pink Floyd fan and my kids always yell at me there are no words on their songs. But this felt different.
Horrible. Not my cup of tea but I can see how it influenced other artist who also make shitty music.
Never really been a big portishead fan. Their music is always kind of depressing in my opinion (no offense Adam - please don't unfriend me)
Loved the album. Had heard of Sam Cooke before but not this album and never really listened to him much. Thought it was really well done. Lot of the songs I found myself moving and grooving as it was playing. I also saw it was recorded in 1963 but not released until 1985 and the record company just sat on it for 20+ years! So it is wild that this album with teh 20 year delay in being released influenced others. I can certainly see how Sam Cooke influenced some, but this delayed album is wild. Anyway, more proof record companies are scum of the earth along with healthcare CEOs.
Used to love this album and Song 2 brings back tons of good memories from high school and college. It's catchy and fun and overall pretty awesome (even if the words don't really make sense). The rest of the album was kind of good, but not near as good as I remember it.
My mom loved Carole King. So long road trips back to Ohio from Alabama I heard this or Janis Joplin when she had control of the cassette player. And I heard Bob Seger or Jim Croce when my step father had control of the casette player. Of the 4, this one was my least favorite. It is certainly acceptable and her songs have stood the test of time, but not my cup of tea. I. do think Carole was a trend setter in her music and can certainly see why she was chosen.
Never heard of these guys before. Thought it was a good album and could hear how they influenced some others. Overall, it did not sound like an album that was 40+ years old
I liked this one a lot. I am not sure how it influenced others though, especially since it is so unknown and so recent (comparatively). But I think this should replace office music everywhere - soft, smooth, musical at times, nice beat, and just much better ambience than traditional office/elevator music.
Horrible. Worst yet on this adventure, and I listened to The Associates and Henry Neilsson so that is saying something! Put it this way - if I gave this album to my sworn enemy I would end up in gitmo on terrorist charges for cruel and unusual punishment against a fellow man. Also - who did this influence? One song has 22k listens on spotify. Total! Through all time. Let's just drop the "en" from the artist name and call them "The Sham" shall we? Because this album aint it and is a damn sham.
I would give this one 6 stars if I could. I feel like it was great and can also see how it influenced others. Also nice to see a debut album from a band land on this list.
Thought it was good. I like Neil Young a lot, but more so of his solo career than his crazy horse career. Overall it was a solid pick.
Bad. Horrible. No good. Awful. Terrible.
Saw the album and thought I would like it more. Then I listened to it and... meh. Solidly mediocre. Their claim to fame is a 17 minute song that is about 14 minutes too long.
Loved it. She Floated Away is a legit awesome song and I listened to it multiple times yesterday. After this album I listened to a few more of theirs and liked them too. Would listen to this entire band again even though I had never really listened to them before.
It was good. Really good. Great song after great song. Wild Horses, while still immensely popular, is extremely underrated IMO and one of the top few Stones songs of all time.
I thought it would be better. I was wrong. 2 stars, but barely.
