Cry to Me is a masterpiece
I’ve been meaning to explore Afrobeat because I enjoy global music like Khruangbin. So happy I was given the opportunity to listen to this. Great sound.
Just two dudes who made decent Americana road trip music. A classic album.
I don’t find punk too interesting when it’s a group of angry white Cis men.
Tastes and smells like not as good Beatles with what sounds like the audiobook for The Hobbit thrown in.
I actually really liked this. Good vibes for a yacht (in my dreams).
It was alright.
When the Doves Cry is peak in this album. Everything else was okay for me. However, I understand why this album deserves its flowers.
I liked this. The dog bark at the beginning of “She Wants to Move” made my irl dog bark.
Not bad but not great.
Dad rock for dads who hit their prime in the 90s.
Not as amazing as their later albums, but it is still pretty solid.
I can’t believe Timothée Chalamet made this album; he’s so talented! (I’m not serious)
I can see why this The Smiths are popular! I like their style, but I don’t know whether this album stands out to me.
Beautiful album. So glad I was introduced to it.
Tiny Dancer hits so hard; the rest of the album is okay.
I have always loved this album. It is top tier of its genre.
Oye Como Va is a historic banger.
I get it now.
CCR never disappoints.
Gave the vibes of the Scooby Doo movies soundtracks.
Reminded me of a computer game I used to play.
This was such a horrible listen I’m actually upset that someone decided this was a worthy album to be included. I hated listening to this so much that I put the volume on low. Was not worth my time.
I respect Green Day for creating the sound of 90s rock.
This album crawled so Khraungbin could run many, many years later.
Didn’t like the first half but enjoyed the second half more than I thought.
Felt like I was in the Romcom Leap Year.
Felt like I was in the sad part of a 2000s romcom.
Such a great listen with so many good songs.
Fine, but it was annoying to listen to “Mother” as a woman. I don’t really care for your mommy issues.
Loved it.
I’m glad I got introduced to this artist. I definitely want to check out their other work. Would be interested in this on vinyl 👀.
Another boring & mid white man album.
Another mid white guy album.
Not extraordinary, however, it is original and not a bad listen.
Liked more than I thought. Good music to work to.
Grandpapi 2000s indie rock.
The lyrics were crazy
I liked the first half more than the second. I was impressed that an album from the 70s sounded so much like it was from the 90s or early 2000s. Sounded similar to Cake to me.
He really is a piano man.
Not the worst.
A few hits in here.
I like the two most famous songs from this album and everything else was okay.
Son of a Preacher Man kind of hit.
Another mid white man rock album….
It is a truth universally acknowledged that every woman has an ex that ruined Wonderwall for them. Also, Red Wine Supernova > Champaign Supernova.
Not one song I wanted to skip.
I liked some songs more than others.
Beautiful listen.
Amazing. Need it on vinyl.
Album for the depressing part/nadir of a romcom.
My partner has never watched Cruel Intentions so he will never understand Bitter Sweet Symphony like I do.
Nice
My boyfriend will never understand the cultural relevance of “Coconut” because he hasn’t watched Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock make margaritas and dance to it in Practical Magic.
Good but not their best.
Amazing. No notes.
I wish country still sounded like this. It would make me listen to it more.
A poet.
Changes always makes me think of Shrek 2
Fun.
Nick Drake walked so Hozier could run. 🏃♂️
Not a bad album to work to.
Liked more than I thought I would. Vampire Blues was a standout 🧛♀️
I don’t hate it, just have to be in the mood for this.
Kind of fun.
A classic album.
All the songs sound the same.
It’s no bad but also I’m just confused by what this is.
Had mommy issues but made good music.
When the album is called bossanova but there is no bossa nova in it 🤬
Reminds me of MGMT’s Little Dark Age (I guess it’s technically the other way around timing wise).
My partner is sexist by giving this 4 stars. Men don’t get it.
Lowered my blood pressure to my surprise.
Nice vibes. Good for working.
Could have been a two but the cherry on top to this annoying album was the final OVER 8 MINUTE song.
It’s okay. Would be better if they didn’t write about and normalize sexualizing underage girls.
Chill vibes.
I wasn’t amazed, but I didn’t hate it.
It was fine. Not too memorable except when he goes “my friends 👹👹👹”.
I found this album jarring as a result of the large difference in the quality of Cohen’s lyric writing versus his singing. The words are beautiful, but the album isn’t the greatest listen.
Once again, it very much reminds me of Cake 🍰.
Not my favorite type of music but this might be a new go to for when I’m angry. My biggest gripe with this albums is that many of the songs don’t flow into one another.
I liked this more than Eliminator, but it doesn’t especially stand out to me. Their music sounds like what they play in a Chevy car ad.
Solid 80s pop album.
The perfect album I’d recommend to a woman if I were a performative male/male manipulator. Overall, it’s a good alt album full of love songs.
Would not listen to again.
Fun album.
Good music to romanticize life in NYC.
One of Princess Diana’s favorite bands 💔
Good, but some of the songs remind of the Anti-piracy ad - Piracy. It’s a crime. from the early 2000s.
Some fun classics here. Makes me think of the movie Megamind because it has AC/DC songs from this album in the soundtrack.
I like Bonnie Raitt but not this album
Need this on vinyl!
Classy. Pour some wine and talk about art deco vs art nouveau with this playing in the background.
Not bad. The vibe was what I imagine what high schoolers played in the 80s while they were parking lmao.
I’m so happy this album is in this list. It’s refreshing after so many mid albums.
Not as bad as other albums I’ve had to listen to for this album. Some songs were almost good but were brought down by other songs in the album. Also, 2 hours is too long for an album imo.
I liked the first half of the album more than the second. Reminded me of Caroline Polachek.
Good background vibe.
Will be my go to Christmas album next year!
Superstition is great; the rest of the songs were okay.
I’m not a big U2 fan but I like this album more than I usually like their music???
🤠
It would have gotten 5/5 but some songs brought the whole album down.
Neither hate nor love this album.
My boyfriend won’t get this comparison: Listening to this album made me feel like I was Caroline Bassette walking into Calvin Klein during her hay day.
Some really good song but some really meh ones.
Long live Dolly Parton! I did notice she uses some songs from this album in Jolene.
I find this album uninspired and boring. I could have gone my whole life without listening to it and feel like I’m not missing out.
If I don’t listen to the lyrics, I would say this music feels like yearning. Would have given it a 3 but apparently this man is a POS. So….
Probably would have been a 2 if it were not for Nico.
Kind of boring but some of the solos were good.
It’s funny how the most famous song in this album is so unlike the rest of the album. This album is undeniably influential, yet I am a little underwhelmed.
While there are some fun songs in this album, such as Infatuation, and classics, such as Beautiful, there are no songs I will be returning to in this album. I also think this album lacks a cohesiveness and feels for the most part unmemorable.
Great album! I appreciate the songs Otis Redding wrote himself and can understand his style and sound through his song covers.
The first half of this album was not good. Especially the song Imagine. Should I hold Khalid responsible for the sins of John Lennon and Gal Gadot? Probably not. In fact, Khaled’s version has a much better message and meaning. However, the tune of that song is like nails scratching a chalkboard for me at this point. The second half was redeeming. I liked songs like Raba-Raba. I was surprised when I suddenly heard Latin American sounds with the song Goulouha-Dji and it was fun. I wish the first half of this album didn’t exist! Otherwise, it would have gotten a 4.
The perfect music for a romance.
This sounded so much like 90s/2000s rock; this album specifically reminded me of the Strokes. Not bad but also not something I’d save to listen to again.
Kind of boring except for American Girl (a song which I mostly like because Betty once danced to it in an episode of Ugly Betty).
I feel pretty neutral on this album. It wasn’t horrible to listen to but I’m not sure if it stands out.
This is a great album for women 💅
Good vibes.
Not bad but not my favorite Adele album.
Never heard of this artist before. Reminds me quite a bit of Vampire Weekend. I will want to listen to their other albums in the future.
I found this a little boring. Nothing was a stand out.
I did not have to listen to this b4 I die. In fact, this was a waste of my precious time alive.
Reminded me of vampire weekend. Good vibey music. Less lyrics more instrumental.
Great sad boy album 👦🏼 (this emoji but sad) (this emoji looks like my bf)
