I am shocked by how cool this album is! Very experimental, but also funky? Some of the tracks come off straight up disturbing. Having finished this album, I loved it! Very funky, very weird, very experimental. I can't believe I'd never heard this guy before.

I love this album. I've loved it since the day it came out.

Great album, though not as good as Velvet and Nico. It's refreshing listening to simple music, especially in this day of over produced nonsense. Lou Reed's voice is still spectacular

What's there to say about this album?

This is the first real dud I've gotten from this list. It's very 80s and not in a good way. Really, the album is just saved by Head Over Heels. Without that track, I can't really think why anybody would consider this even a very good album, much less one of the greatest. I've always found Shout to be a really annoying pop song. The Working Hour is ok, but it really just reminds me of a worse version of the Cure. Everybody Wants to Rule the World is an ok pop song, but very cheesy. Even Head Over Heels, which I said was the saving grace of the album, is still pretty meh. Worst thing about this album is how LONG all the tracks are! Everything is at least five minutes!

I just don't get it.

Hendrix is an amazing guitarist, but it's all just very dated.

While revolutionary for its time, I think other bands have done the same things better. Still a fun listen, though. Just not something I can see myself going back to regularly.

It's an interesting artifact, but honestly, sometimes experiments don't really work. It's very piecemeal, jarring, and strange.
