Popular Reviews

The Man Who by Travis

All the ppl shitting on this, I disagree. It’s fine, nothing crazy or sonically revolutionary but ya know what it’s perfect for? Working on a rainy day. Didn’t call my attention or distract me, nice background music. And sometimes you need background music.

I am mot Jesus tho I have the same initials…

Fun House by The Stooges

Can’t imagine choosing to listen to this

Floodland by Sisters Of Mercy

Thank god this is over. Not totally unlistenable but close. I bet my hs bf would have liked this

Southern Rock Opera by Drive-By Truckers
Jun 06 2025

What a ride. Funny, sad, made me roll my eyes, made me nostalgic all at the same time. Three Great Alabama Icons was arresting in a way I haven’t experienced in so long. Will definitely listen again

Jun 07 2025

Not my favorite Dylan but a lot of good stuff! Stand outs are Mr. Tambourine Man,Love Minus Zero, and Baby Blue. Sometimes I tune out in the long songs but who’s to blame me

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Jun 07 2025

I struggled paying attention and getting through the longer songs, but it was cool to see rainy day dream away in context. I also liked the atmospheric stuff and feel like it would have been so cool to see live. Excited to listen to more Hendrix

Play by Moby
Jun 08 2025

really blown away by this one.

The Gershwin Songbook by Ella Fitzgerald
Jun 10 2025

Beautiful. She knows what it feels like to be in love, and to be out of it. What a treat, even though it was long.

Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos
Jun 11 2025

I can tell she was giving it her all and I respect her for that but it just didn’t really hit for me

Colour By Numbers by Culture Club
Jun 12 2025

Fun listen but I don’t think I’ll do it again

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Jun 13 2025

Didn’t realize how corny The Beach Boys are, but there’s certainly a time and place. I really liked a day in the life of a tree, of course

The Yes Album by Yes
Jun 14 2025

Great listen for Father’s Day. Excited for more

Water From An Ancient Well by Abdullah Ibrahim

The Doors by The Doors
Jun 18 2025

Not my fave, but want to listen to more

The Renaissance by Q-Tip
Jun 19 2025

Really fucked with this album. Very 2008 and just a generally fun and energizing listen

We Are Family by Sister Sledge
Jun 21 2025

Excellent listen. Really fun, start to finish. Loved the remixes especially

Didn’t like, weird and not for me.

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Jun 26 2025

Nothing to write home about but a groovy listen!

Jun 27 2025

Really beautiful album. Soaring vocals and melodies. Pleasure to listen to his interpretations of a lot of these hits, even if they’re not my personal fave versions.

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Jun 28 2025

One of my first real listens of funk. I liked it, but still not a huge fan of the long songs. But more tolerable here for sure. “More power to the pussy/more pussy to the people” preach

The Nightfly by Donald Fagen
Jun 29 2025

Really enjoyed this one! Excited for more steely dan

Jun 30 2025

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Jul 16 2025

Jul 17 2025

A pretty long album and some of the songs weren’t it for me but I liked the artist and want to listen more

Brutal Youth by Elvis Costello
Aug 04 2025

Billy joel but worse imo

Aug 05 2025

What can I say, this album blew my mind the first time I heard it back in college. I was going through my uncle’s vinyl’s. He passed from AIDS in the early 90’s, several years before I was born. Listening to his music was a way for me to get closer to him. I have a lot to say about this album—Gimmie Three Steps spoke to me under a queer listening, imaging myself flirting with some guy’s girlfriend. I can see a queer country reworking of that song in modern day and I always love singing along when it comes on. You can’t bring up Lynyrd Skynyrd and not talk about the Confederate flag and feud with Nike Young. I think the Drive-By Truckers did an excellent job examining this in their album Southern Rock Opera, getting to the root of “the southern thing” and how politicians weaponize racist symbols and policies to divide a region where nearly everyone’s neck is under the same boot. The real southern thing is seeding division among the people and breaking class solidarity so that everyone can be exploited—and I think the finger pointing that comes from northerners is just a hammer in that toolbox.

Henry's Dream by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Aug 07 2025

No offense but who put this on here

Microshift by Hookworms
Aug 20 2025

Sep 29 2025

I am mot Jesus tho I have the same initials…

Fragile by Yes
Sep 30 2025

Really enjoyed this one and all the diverse instrumental tracks

Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Oct 03 2025

I only really liked one song from this album. This guy just sounds like guyliner embodied. He’s great at what he does but it’s just really not for me

Imagine by John Lennon
Oct 04 2025

I don’t think he really protected yoko with this work and can see why the world came for her, although I am a yoko ono apologist. Imagine is one of the corniest songs ever but has done a lot of good, I think

Mama's Gun by Erykah Badu
Oct 05 2025

Love this album. No notes

Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury by The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy
Oct 06 2025

This felt like if we didn’t start the fire, schoolhouse rock and public enemy had a baby. I like political hip hop but it was a bit too much for me and not enough musical chops. I would have preferred to read an essay by him. Some did make me giggle but the rhymes weren’t there imo

Oct 07 2025

Really loved so much of this album but it didn’t blow me away the way that mama’s gun did. I think maybe all the hype around it set my expectations really high. I think perhaps the album was too long for me and if it were condensed it would have stuck more. But a lot of really great bangers

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Oct 09 2025

Loved this album. Felt like coming home in a way I totally didn’t expect

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Oct 11 2025

Why does this man have to be groaning so much. I kept thinking there was a weirdo next to me on the street as I walked through NYC. Otherwise, I liked it fine.

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Oct 23 2025

To me, not as good as good kid maad city but still some really great bangers.

Illmatic by Nas
Oct 25 2025

Life’s a bitch and then you die! This one was really fun.

American Pie by Don McLean
Oct 27 2025

Didn’t realize how much Don McLean sounded like John Denver. I really like Vincent, more than I thought I would.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Oct 28 2025

Fave stones I’ve listened to so far! Like a nice tight album, too. Very relistenable

Fred Neil by Fred Neil

Jan 04 2026

Why is this on here? Too Christian rock for me and just overall very mid

...Baby One More Time by Britney Spears
Jan 07 2026

Fuck all the haters in the reviews. God forbid someone perceive you listening to a young woman sing. This shit was revolutionary at the time, grow the fuck up

Jan 08 2026

I guess I’m too normie, or too sober for this. Liked a few tracks tho but a lot were noise to me

G. Love And Special Sauce by G. Love & Special Sauce
Jan 16 2026

Listened without paying attention, liked the energy. Listened again paying attention and was shocked at how bad it was and was just praying the album would end but it kept going

Liked the other band more

Feb 23 2026

Liked this until I read the pedophile comments :(

xx by The xx

Ehhhh don’t make me listen to this

Survivor by Destiny's Child
Mar 27 2026

This album is so crazy like what do you mean there’s bootylicious, nasty girl/fancy, and the outro praising god and sisterhood?? Honestly so annoying to listen to

This was really fun actually. I was just thinking “who is electric light orchestra” the other day

Shaka Zulu by Ladysmith Black Mambazo
Mar 29 2026

Very extremely lovely. The lip smacking sort of got me tho lol

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Mar 30 2026

Honestly, I liked this a lot more than I thought, and liked it better on a second listening. All the sampling is sort of weird and annoying to me personally but the downbeat change in organ donor made my jaw drop and immediately start the song over like 4 separate times

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Mar 31 2026

Bittersweet symphony is kinda the most annoying song on this album but their vibes were good overall. Moodier than I expexted

Bug by Dinosaur Jr.
Apr 01 2026

I’m sure it’s carthartic to do a screamo song. Considerate of them to limit it to one on the album

Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves
Apr 02 2026

I think I’ve grown out of this a lot, there are a few songs that still hit but the songwriting sort of feels like miss rachel (like happy and sad). Pageant material and same trailer different park are way better imo. She also just sings like she’s laying down on a couch but not in a good way, like diva try to put a little more edge in your voice. But this is the supermarket music I like ig

Apr 05 2026

Tbh I loved this. Was thrown off by the name tho

I’m not that into jazz

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Apr 09 2026

My kind of jazz

Space Ritual by Hawkwind
Apr 10 2026

To take a note from the album, you shouldn’t do that. Don’t make me listen to a 2 hour live album under any circumstances. And the songs are way too long and make no sense. The space crap is also just not my thing at all. Would give it a 1.5 if I could. Not totally unlistenable tho so a 2.

Melodrama by Lorde
Apr 11 2026

I wish I was a pop girlie in hs so that I’d like this more

Floodland by Sisters Of Mercy
Apr 12 2026

The Man Who by Travis
Apr 15 2026

All the ppl shitting on this, I disagree. It’s fine, nothing crazy or sonically revolutionary but ya know what it’s perfect for? Working on a rainy day. Didn’t call my attention or distract me, nice background music. And sometimes you need background music.

I See A Darkness by Bonnie "Prince" Billy
Apr 17 2026

Another example of don’t judge an album by its cover. I wish it was on Spotify!

Apr 19 2026

I like albums that tell a story. This one was a little campy at points but I’m excited to listen to more of them. Wish I could give 3.5

Queen II by Queen
Apr 20 2026

Sonically interesting and very fun. 3.5

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Apr 21 2026

Wish I liked this more. Liked better than the other album, brutal youth

Apr 22 2026

An album made by a man who hates women. Also one Direction ripped off fit but you know it. Why do men only like women with poor self esteem? Oh wait…. This man also has no talent, genuinely difficult to listen to. The mix feels like a first attempt of a high schooler making music in his basement

Peggy Suicide by Julian Cope
Apr 23 2026

Listened a bunch bc I couldn’t get a grasp of the album and couldn’t listen start to finish. Don’t get it

Crosby, Stills & Nash by Crosby, Stills & Nash
Apr 24 2026

I guess I hadn’t listened to this all the way through before. Songs were longer than I expected but very good. 4.5

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Apr 25 2026

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Jul 14 2026

You’re telling me this broad is a Brit?

Girls and Boys is the hardest line dance I’ve ever done

Rock Bottom by Robert Wyatt
Jul 20 2026

Another Album for People Who are Weirder than I

Jul 21 2026

I don’t normally like live albums, but this is insane. The transition between bring it on home and nothing can change this love I feel is absolutely electric. I have a feeling this concert would change my life in 1963

The Bends by Radiohead
Jul 22 2026

Music like this makes me consider the reality that perhaps men can feel the full spectrum of human emotion. 4.5

Dig Your Own Hole by The Chemical Brothers
