As an ideal listener, aka someone who owns multiple automotives, I felt like I was listening to a devo album, which prompted me to realize this came out the same year as the first devo album, so I really don't know who did it first but well done either way. My parents were probably hooking up to these tunes so I'm not going to be listening much after this day. Props to the Cars for making an energy efficient album with no speed bumps.
Might break my vegetarianism after listening to this. Thought I liked it after listening the second time but really it's the instrumentals I enjoy.
Not appropriate for the month of June, however, juicy fingerstyle is the key to what makes this album great.
Ok, great album. Heard it a few times before but it always grows on me. Desperately want it to be a concept album but I haven't developed any theories. Fav song, Exit Music, followed by electioneering.
Ya ever just not know the names of a lot of pearl jams until hearing this album? Feels like I'm listening to classic rock radio but the rhythm on this album punches. Also can't stop thinking about how Eddie climbs the stage scaffolding and shit like wtf was he thinking.
Album cover had me laughing a bit, another one where I subconsciously know the music, but not the artist . Didn't hit me like the other albums, I'm going to be harsh with the rating because I had enough by the half way point
As a 21st century schizoid man, I always enjoy the dreamy vibes of this record. I feel like a fuedalistic peasant having an acid trip. The album is both ahead of and behind the times. Middle of the album is underrated.
Primetime music for the last day of school. My students agree. I named my hamster Stevie Wonder, if I ever have another one, I'll name it boogie on a reggae woman.
Transformative album for Jonathan Cash. P.s. I hung my head.
They say they've got the cure, but I don't have a disease
Okay, not the best David Bowie, but still a heroic album that got me into the grooves.
Surfboardt! Surfboardt! I sneezed on the beat and the beat got sicker. No further explanation needed!
Wow I loved this so much. Props to my boy Lief Erickson.
Not a fan, but I'm not upset by it.
Jazzy
My interest in this band is stark. Only thing that kept me going was the mention of Brian Eno, who has already left the band by this point. Probably for the best.
Had a fun little Sunday jamming out to the Byrd persons.
Metal albums need more British villains to narrated their interludes.
I liked it, honestly didn't listen to the whole thing but it brought straight vibes and it will be a revisit for me for sure.
Don't know why I was expecting something else, but I like the guitars. Solid.
Never heard, was deep and interesting. Gave me a parquet quarts vibe here and there.
Went by quick for me as I did work. Knew nothing about the album going in. Was super disappointed, just not my type.
I liked fulfillingness so much better! This one just pasted me by.
"Ooom da got da boom da gut de boom gat" -me when hear a knock at the door
Me and my para had a good time listening.
I'm good, 3/10
Never listened to more than song 1, I don't have too much praise but I enjoy the overall experience
My favorite rush record to pop in the car and assume control of all planets of the solar federation.
This fucking guy shushed me at the Aja cover show and I will never be the same. End oppression.
Introspective and good quality. title track on was where it really got going for me.
Rip Malcom X. First media in the ice cube universe that I've enjoyed.
Intimate
The first side of the album is one good song after another. My high school self would say this is second best album but it's up there for me with the funky vibes.
Happy songs are happy and awesome quality. Sad songs made me sad.
I missed this one but some day in the future I'll listen.
Had fun listening. Heard bloody roots before and enjoyed this about the same.
I sure like guitars.
Don't mind relistening to this one. There isn't a bad song. 8.5/10 for me.
I've been an are you experienced person for a while, and of course I've heard a lot of these songs on their own, but dam I like the flow of electric lady land. 9/10
Due to years of playing Fallout, I am a sucker cold war big band.
I was fine listening to it. 1/4
Right on
Enjoyed. Funny enough my intro to Tracy was a Reel Big Fish cover of the first track on this good album.
Love the instrumentals, especially the vibraphone on the 2nd track.
Never heard Willie Nelson, I like the style of this album, went in cold knowing any other albums or songs, would listen again to others. 2.5/5
Not crazy about it.
I am experienced with this good record.
You got me a birthday gift for my birthday on my birthday? Pretty good album. Or should I say bad?
Sounds a lot older than it is to my ears. Fine record, theme is cool.
For someone as popular as him, I don't meet many who mention him. Fine album, just not what I'm looking for really.
First time hearing and it didn't disappoint. 2.5/5
When the Levy Breaks drum sample starting off got me going. The samples just got goofier as the album progressed though. I'm just not completely sold.
Pleasant surprise of an awesome album I've never come across. All around enjoyable. 3.5/5
This guy should make movie sound tracks
