Listened to this whilst out in the garden with the kids. It was pleasant as background music, but I don’t think it’s an album I’ll return to again.
Pleasant for background music.
This one was a bit bland and forgettable for my tastes.
Enjoyed this. Pleasant and easy listen. A few songs were quite catchy too.
Enjoyed this and will listen again
Ooh this one is a bit out there. A few songs I really tuned into but the rest kind of melded into one for me.
This one was not to my taste at all. Ot was just my luck to be given a 2 hour “deluxe” version. I found this repetitive and honestly rather irritating.
This is quite a short album and I was able to listen to it more than once. It got more enjoyable with each listen. Will likely come back to this one.
The most recent album that has been “assigned” so far. I knew a few of these songs and enjoyed hearing those again. Some new ones for me, which I found myself signing later in the kitchen.
I sighed when I saw this album come up as there was something about the band name and genre that just made me think I was not going to enjoy this one. I was wrong - a few of the tracks were pretty good, and ones I might re-listen to.
Didn’t hate this one but didn’t like it either. Quite dull, with a lowlight being the ten minute long track which just sounds like a dirge. Not one to revisit.
Was very happy to see this one come up as there are a couple of iconic songs on this album. Found myself singing along during my work day. Four stars as there were a few samey/forgettable filler tracks.
I ended up enjoying this much more than I thought I would. Listened to it twice.
I really didn’t have high hopes for this one when it was both a group I’ve never heard of, and a genre which could effectively be anything, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Really enjoyed this and could see adding it into my at work listening playlist.
Didn’t hate this but didn’t particularly enjoy it either. Pretty forgettable.
This was a pleasant surprise on a Monday morning. I knew and already liked 6/9 songs, and the remaining three, were easy to listen to if not as catchy.
I cannot remember a single song just hours after listening to this. Completely inoffensive and also completely forgettable.
As soon as Part IV started I recognised it. There’s something almost spooky and definitely a bit otherworldly about this album. Enjoyed it.
A couple of good ones, notably the extended version of Bat Out Of Hell, but otherwise this was pretty forgettable.
A nice bit of 80s synth. Very easy listening. Feels like it could have been (and it probably was) part of a film soundtrack or workout video soundtrack.
This one was fine. A couple of songs caught my attention with the remainder blending into one. Probably not one I’ll return to
I enjoyed this, cheerful easy listening pop.
Fine, but not really my cup of tea.
Hadn’t heard of this band or this album before. Was better than I thought it might be, but still a little forgettable.
A bit hit and miss. Not one I’d return to.
Wavered between a 2 and 3 star for this as like all very long albums the songs were hit and miss. The last song pushed it down, but there were a few pleasant listens.
Not for me. Listened to all of this, but definitely wouldn’t listen again.
One of the easiest albums to rate. This remains a masterpiece, with Find The River being one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever written.
Enjoyed this more than I expected to
Knew a few of the songs already. Nothing wrong with this, but not for me.
Very pleasant and easy listening.
This was definitely a case of don’t judge by the cover. Pleasantly surprised to find this less heavy than I’d expected.
Very pretty. An easy listen.
Other than Killer Queen this was a little dull and forgettable.
This album was not what I expected from a band with this name and must have completely slipped by me in the 90s when it was released. Quite trippy but an enjoyable listen.
I knew and already liked most of these. Absolutely solid album. Imagine this would be pretty special to hear live.
Enjoyable, and good for background.
Had never heard of this band before. This was a pleasant and easy listen.
I arrived upon a rating for this one within 30 seconds of track one starting. This is NOT an album I ever needed to hear - it is frankly just noise. I’d like the hour of my time it took to endure this back.
Not for me. I didn’t hate this, but this is not a genre I enjoy.
This was fine, but nothing memorable
A solid album with a few songs I remember from their release. A couple of the new to me ones were nice finds.
This was both a new genre and new artist to me. Interesting, but I don’t think it’ll be one I’ll return to.
Didn’t particularly enjoy this. Someone the later songs sounded just like whining.
A bit dull for my tastes. Not one I’d come back to.
This was both a new genre and new artist to me. Interesting, but I don’t think it’ll be one I’ll return to.
I listened to this album when it first came out and remember thinking it was only so-so. Nearly 20 years later and my opinion has definitely changed for the better. A smooth listen and some deep lyrics.
A new to me artist and album. Listened to this whilst working and so tuned in and out somewhat but enjoyed the bits that I caught.
Partly beautiful, partly haunting
Good music to have on in the background or whilst focusing. Not overly catchy or interesting but fairly melodic.
Forgettable other than ‘American Girl’ which is itself only memorable because it was in ‘The Silence Of The Lambs’
Pleasant background music.
This was fine, just not my cup of tea.
This was shorter than I expected and seemed to me like the balance between the music and the vocals was slightly off in favour of the music? This was fine but wouldn’t push me to prioritise listening to additional Springsteen music which I’d expected that it would.
Enjoyed this. Can definitely hear the 1970s, and the influence of Bowie.
This was fine, nothing particularly stood out.
A few standout songs on this with Bitter Sweet Symphony being a long-time favourite. Otherwise good background music.
This was enjoyable. Had never heard of the artist or any of the songs, but would probably listen to some of them again.
This was fine. A few famous songs I knew but several I didn’t. An enjoyable background listen.
This is a real mixed bag. There are three or four good tracks that anyone who was alive in the 90s is likely to remember but the rest are repetitive and an after a little while just plain irritating.
The best thing I can say about this is that it wasn’t obnoxious. Metal is clearly not for me!
Fine, but not something I’d revisit.
Interesting, but a bit too dark for my preferences.
Interesting, but not one I’ll come back to.
Smooth and easy listening
Not really my cup of tea.
Didn’t particularly like this. The music was good, but most of the lyrics were pretty depressing.
Had this on in the background whilst working. It left no impression whatsoever.
Something about this made me feel a little uneasy. This has a very mournful tone, particularly the tracks with the “church” style music. Intriguing, but would not be a choice if looking for an uplifting listen!
Some very pretty music but overall this was a little too “happy clappy” for my tastes.
How have I got this far in life without listening to this in full?!
Lots of songs I knew. Enjoyed this but not my favourite of the Beatles albums so far (also got the Beatles yesterday)
Relatively inoffensive but there’s something a little dull about most Dire Straits songs
Not really my cup of tea.
Fine. Layla obviously the stand out song on this.
Was surprised by how many of these I knew. Enjoyable listen.
I enjoyed this. “One” is the standout for me here but not a bad track on this album.
Not a fan of this. Felt rather bleak.
I enjoyed this at the time and have continued to do so ever since. Unashamed bubblegum pop which feels like it comes from a simpler and more cheerful time. Just what I needed to hear on a dreary Monday morning.
This was interesting. Completely new band, and I wasn’t familiar with any of these songs but found myself stopping what I was doing to listen to some of them.
This was a bit of a journey! This wouldn’t have been an album I would have otherwise stumbled across but I quite enjoyed some of the tracks, and even the ones that I was only so-so on were inoffensive background music.
I originally listened to this when it came out. Enjoyed the same tracks now as I did then and was happy to have the chance to re-listen to this. Had forgotten just how much there was to Eminem’s lyrics.
This was one of those where I knew one of the songs - the first track - but wouldn’t have been able to guess the artist. An interesting listen.
Christmas classics - what more is there to say?
Smooth. Easy listening and very cosy.
An enjoyable listen. I didn’t know any of these, but will likely return to them.
Not really my thing, but worth a listen to experience this kind of experimental album.
I’ve never listened to this before and yet somehow it was very familiar. Easy listening.
Good listen, but not my favourite U2 album on this list.
My favourites of the Rolling Stones albums I’ve had generated so far. An easy listen.
Country music would never be something I'd proactively reach for, but I found this an enjoyable and easy background listen
