INSANE opening run of songs
Love the tone shift during soldiers poem and bringing back the electric guitar at the end of invincible
Favourite: invincible
Least: knights of cydonia
3/5
Saxophone in the last 2 mins of shine on you crazy diamond 1-5, no notes
The synth throughout!!!!
Kind of eerie...
A forest is great though
So so so nostalgic
All of her singles were absolute bangers
Imagine being able to sing and write like that at 25 wow!!!
Production is okay, the vocals and lyrics are not
Definitely could've died without listening to this album
I appreciate the incorporation of African music, but after reading other reviews, I'm not sure how ethically this was done.
Wouldn't listen to this again, but maybe I should stop reading reviews before I listen to the albums!
Just found out he was married to Vivienne Westwood, I appreciate the taste
Also love organically discovering samples that I didn't know about before
It's good, but it's an album of covers and probably won't listen to again, although
I definitely appreciate their original music more
Favourite: Carol
I love his voice, so refreshing
The backing vocals are angelic
Favourite: Ain’t no cute for love
Least: first we take Manhattan
So beautiful, reminds me of a long road trip, very nostalgic inducing
The piano at the end of He Doesn't Know Why!!
Favourites: White Winter Hymnal, Your Protector
I like this!!
Love a bit of saxaphone and his voice is beautiful
Great start. Love the bass guitar in Lay Your Lovin' On Me
Very funky
We started off very strong until I got to the covers, Mr Postman was amazing but I wasn't very partial to the rest of them.
I love the harmonising in You Really Got a Hold on Me
Can't wait to listen to more Beatles!!
Favourites: All I've Got to Do & All my Loving
Its good... but it's not great
A lot of the songs are too long and just blur into eachother, which isn't always a bad thing but not this time
I like the vocals and the jazz elements
I froth me some electric guitar
I’ve noticed a trend with old albums incorporating the harmonica, which I love it Bring It on Home especially the transition into electric guitar WOW
Just a really good album with some great hits that all gels well together (minusing one star for Moby Dick, what was that???)
Not amazing but good for a debut album, I guess. Why do I keep getting debut albums!!?
Music is catchy but the vocals are a bit grating
Favourite: California Waiting and Talihina Sky (very beautiful closing song)
Even though I was born in the early 2000's this album makes me nostalgic for a more fun time
Favourite: (3 is) The Magic Number (duh)
Not really my vibe. I enjoyed the tuba (I think) in Excuse Me, I feel like I don't hear that very often
I definitely think the last few songs on the album saved it for me
Favourite: Modern Loven and Here Comes the Flood
An objectively good album of all their hits and I'm sure it sounded amazing live
Just not my type of music, and did not bother to finish listening to it
All started to sound the same by the end, but still a good album
The WORST album to listen to on the stair master, it made 20 mins feel like forever
I can’t appreciate the artistry but I just did not enjoy
I love love love Frank
His voice is just so beautiful
His songs make me so nostalgic, they make me wish I was living in an old movie
I love his incorporation of various instruments, the harp!!!
Minus one point because all the songs start to blur together after a while
I don’t know if I’m uncultured or not but this did not hit the mark
It was just boring
It has the Sultans of Swing so obviously it just can’t be a bad album. This is a GREAT debut album I really enjoyed it
Fatboy Slim will always remind me of Derry girls
Started off strong but every song is just soooo repetitive I had to skip most of them towards the end
The hits are great and there's a reason they're popular, but I don't think that should justify this album being classed as one of the best of all time
Ehh tried it a few times and couldn't get myself to finish it
Can respect it but not for me
Why are so many of these albums just straight noise
As someone who doesn't like metal I liked this!
The songs did all sound similar though
Classic dad rock, can't go wrong
The guitar solo in Still In Love With You was beautiful, would've been life changing hearing that live
Why did I think the backstreet boys sang The Boys are Back in Town whoops
Favourite: Dancing in the moonlight (the sax :PPP)
Kind of a random mix of genres but it works.
Very elevator music vibes at times, but not in a bad way at all. Probably wouldn't listen to again
Wouldn't it be nice is just a great opening song
Some of the songs are a bit slow and drag out, so the album feels inchorent at times
I love their harmonies
There are some great songs, but they just get lost in the album it is soooo damn long.
I feel like Hey Ya just doesn't fit the whole vibe of the album, but not complaining
I really like his voice. Maggie May is a great song
Sounds nice but also boring.
Would be good background music
The album cover is beautiful
The songs are beautiful as well, but wow his voice his crazy, not a fan of the vibrato
Can’t believe I’ve never listened to this all the way through!!
Some songs were a bit of a drag but they all work together
Fav: King Kunta duhhhh
It’s ok, don’t have much else to say
Behind Blue Eyes saved this album for me, just got kind boring in the middle
Water Song/Janie's Got a Gun was such a throwback!!
I quite enjoyed this album, especially compared to some others on this list
Ice Cube's best performance, apart from 22 Jump Street
A funny man with a funny voice
Very ooky spooky vampire vibes- the way he sings reminds me of Frank-n-Furter
"Jesus died for somebodies sins, but not mine" - what an opening line!
Started off strong, her mumbling in Birdland was not for me
Favs: Gloria, Redondo Beach, Kimberly
Funky background music, really helped me lock into my uni work
You put the lime in the what??
Makes me yearn to be British
I was really excited for this one, but it just didn't hit
I don't care what the reviews say, I enjoyed this
Lyrics are outdated but the music is catchy and very remniscent of that era
