Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
May 04 2026

Led Zeppelin III was quite a change from the first 2 albums which were heavy on updating Chicago Blues to be rock n' roll. More acoustic guitar work, although the first song from the album that I heard was "Immigrant Song" was a continuation of the sound from Led I and II leaning on a Viking theme. "Since I've been loving you" could have easily been on Led Zeppelin II. My favorite of the new quieter sound is "That's the way." But Led Zeppelin needed to make this album in order to progress their sound.

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
May 05 2026

This one brings back memories of seeing CSN&Y live twice in 1975 and a highlight was an extended version of "Carry on." Distinctive guitars play with "Almost cut my hair" with Stephen and Neil. Also, another memory form that time was a high school friend who was a piano savant. He listened to "Our house" twice then sat down to his piano and played it from start to finish. The two weakest songs were from Neil Young compared the rest of the album.

Debut by Björk
May 06 2026

This album was a surprise with the breath of various musical sounds with jazz influence. I was aware of Bjork as a personality but never knew her music. Glad I did listen

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
May 07 2026

Vert personal album touching on strong topics of homelessness, domestic violence, women's rights and inequity. Unfortunately, she was a shooting star and never achieved the same after this one. Did have this album when it came out.

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
May 08 2026
Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club
May 09 2026

In a similar vein as the early 1001 albums on the list with Cuban sounds but I prefer those albums with their more upbeat approach.

May 15 2026

A alcohol fueled journey through the night is for the listener. A bridge between the jazz infused later 1950's to a slow version of future rap observations of life. Too many interesting word combinations to list are found here. A true gem of a live recording.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
May 16 2026

The Beach Boys get political and more than just going to the Beach (water)

Metallica by Metallica
May 19 2026

not interesting and many of the songs sound the same

May 20 2026

The metal music was invented but lyrics of death, satanic rituals, murder and celebrating Russian roulette (memories of those scenes from “The Deer Hunter” which I saw opening night) were too much for me.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac

1989 by Taylor Swift
May 27 2026
Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
May 30 2026

Other the first song which is a classic, others are forgettable. A concept album is one which I didn't understand

Closer by Joy Division
May 31 2026

Dark lyrics were thoughtful at the same time predicting the future of the band. Traces are also of the future sound of New Order.

The Healer by John Lee Hooker
Jun 01 2026

Classic blues sounds with added guests to change the focus. Saw him live opening for Los Lobos

Imagine by John Lennon
Jun 02 2026

Just about every song is a Classic for John Lennon and personal at same time

461 Ocean Boulevard by Eric Clapton
Jun 03 2026

Listened to the deluxe version and live Clapton was able to stretch out his playing

Machine Head by Deep Purple
Jun 06 2026

Some all-time guitar riffs from Richie Blackmore drive this album.

Live At Leeds by The Who
Aug 11 2026

One of the greatest live albums of all time especially the deluxe version with "Tommy" on disc 2. The drumming of Keith Moon keeped rolling on and could hear the echo's of Pete's guitar throughput the hall. Usually a bass guitar is hidden in the underneath in the beat, but here is up front and prominent. Like Roger Daltrey said, "Too much."
