Is this the album that defined Swamp Rock? Truly great stuff. Classics like Born on the Bayou and Proud Mary and impossible to ignore. The whole album has a mesmerizing, hypnotic, nature to it, and I mean this as both a pro and a con, I think. Some of these songs really do drag on in length.
Not SD's best, but has some real faves like Bodhisattva and My Old School.
Classic new wave that I will always listen to, but really not that many bangers.
Such a clear portrait of the transition from 80's hip hop to 90's hip hop. At times feels like listening to two different albums on shuffle. That sounds like a knock, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Love Paul Weller, but had never heard his early stuff. Classic.
This album is great. Beetlebum and Song 2 are absolute fire. Also great hits like M.O.R. and Chinese Bombs. Looking at some of my other ratings, I don't think this reaches "perfect album" levels of greatness, but I do love this album a lot and probably listen to it just as much if not more than albums I consider "perfect."
A classic album, but I rarely listen to the entire album. Turns out, there is some real weird shit on here. Looking at you, "Mother"
Great Elvis album. Not many super hits, but consistently good. And succinct. I love an reasonably lengthed album.
Tom Waits is really hit or miss from me. And this was mostly miss.
Roundabout is great. The rest is just prog rock for me. Not a bad thing by any means, but not exceptional. Yesterday, I told somebody that Roundabout is the best song that I never remember exists.
This was great. A lot of fun. But it all starts blending together after a while ya know? No standouts.
Tapestry is a perfect album. That's all there is to say about that.
I like concept albums. I like the idea of creating a score for a movie that doesn't exist. I love Danger Mouse's Rome. This just wasn't quite as good for me. Still enjoyable.
Fun for a few minutes. Got old fast.
This is the album they made it on the list? I mean , surely other Dylan albums did too, but this is an interesting album. Not Dark Yet is really the only song I am familiar with. The rest of the album is a good example of "late stage Dylan." It's good, but I wouldn't call it a must hear.
Enjoyable! Not super memorable for me. I liked it more than than Syd Barrett era of Pink Floyd so I guess that is something.
I'm not listening to this narcissistic waste human flesh, no matter how "influential" his music is. Kanye West in an influencer to the decline of civilized society and nothing more.
I enjoyed the heck outta this album. Such great energy. And an appearance from Q-Tip?! Love it.
Brighton Rock is my favorite Queen song. That alone boosts this album, but the whole thing is a joy.
I will always listen to the Beach Boys and will always enjoy them. This isn't my favorite album of theirs, but is still good listening.
This is my favorite Miles Davis album. But I still only have so much patience for it.
I'm just not a fan of Fiona Apple. I recognize it as artistically good. But I also recognize John Cage is artistically good. That doesn't mean I go around listening to 4'33" for fun.
It's Miles, can't say it's bad.. but who has this kind of time? It's like 3x longer than I prefer an album to be
ITS RUSH. SLAP DA BASS. I do really like Rush. This doesn't have any of my favorites, but still good stuff.
An offbeat Beach Boys album. No hits here, but The Boys are always a good listen.
Classic Ray. Easy listening.
I love Ella. I love Gershwin. What more is there to say?
I was raised on 80's hair bands and I adore this album. Means a lot to me. Hot take: Pour Some Sugar On Me might be my least favorite track. Overplayed.
A great album that truly acts as a single work, rather than a bunch of singles.
This album is perfect. My favorite iteration of Kendrick. Easily one of my all-time favorite hip hop albums and also pretty damn high on my all-time albums list.
A real classic of an album. Do I thin k it is a masterpiece? No. Do I, like, really love Coldplay? Nope. But the music is good, I always enjoy listening to it and, at this point, it really is a time machine too.
I *love* this album. Every track. Sure, everybody knows the theme song, but the real good stuff is on the B side.
I just can't get behind Cohen's music. Though I will admit that this is more enjoyable that some other stuff I have heard. His younger voice is easier to listen to.
I love Bob, but most of his music is same same to me. This album has No Woman, No Cry, which is a banger, but not the famous live version that is so so good.
It was okay. Def not my favorite Nick Cave album.
I love the groove of ZZ Top. This isn't my fav album of theirs, but is still great.
Not my favorite TH album, but still has some great tracks and I still love Byrne's voice.
I don't do a lot of british hip hop. It's okay, but I'm not going to be seeking this album out
Its just not really my thing
This is the good era of Kanye, before we knew he was batshit crazy. Don't like the guy at all, but this is still 3 star worthy.
I have spent sooo much time with this album
Liz is an under-rated gem who is too often forgotten.
Not my favorite Stones album, but Sympathy for the Devil is one of my favorite songs.
4 stars. Never heard it and instantly loved it.
Is it perfect? Nah. Does it have Black Hole Sun and Spoonman on it? Yesh. Five stars.
SPOOOOONMAAAANNNN
It's Muddy. Give the man 5 stars.
One of my least fav Bowie albums, but it's still Bowie
I'll take "albums that defined a generation" for 200.
Freaking love this album. Hands down.
What a great, and oft forgotten band/album
Helllooooo Clint Eastwood.
Man, I love this album. Only Cardigans album I know, but it stays in pretty heavy rotation for me.
I love The Stone Roses, and frequently thank Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels for introducing me to them.
Not my fave album of theirs, but still fantastic. So many great songs. Up On Cripple Creek and The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down being the hilights
I really love this album. Freaking Big Iron is a classic. Still just a 3 tho.
Golden Years is a banger. Rest of the album isn't standout, but Bowie is never bad
Best Bruce album. Best tracks aren't the obvious choices. But Dancing in the Dark and I'm On Fire are peak Springsteen for me.
Good album. I love Blondie. Heart of glass is the highlight here. But the album as a whole doesn't grab me.
OMG. It is *actually* 69 songs. No. NO album should be that long. Three. Hours.
My favorite Femmes album. SO many great singles.
The best Beck album. Period.
