Quite mesmerising, like opening a time-capsule. The Album is a live-recording from the 50's, you get the experience Sarah Vaughan improvising and interacting with the audience, laughing, all probably long dead. Quite the experience. And her voice is just.. to fall in love with.

Whole array of different vibes, amazing scratching, but more if a background noice, than anything to fall into completely

Damn P-Funk, can't belive I only just now heard of their existence. Each song just makes you want to move to it. You recognize so many elements from newer music, truly a staple for generations of musicians to come after. Funny to see some lingo still being used in rap today!

Haven't thought about Coldplay in years. One of my earliest music-memories, always playing on the radio in the car as a kid. They're much more vibrsnt and have greater variation in tones than I thought. Great rediscovery!

One of the most influential Albums of the early 2000s, everybody knows it and can sing along. Sadly was a bit overplayed on radio, so it lacks a punch, it otherwise would have. DONT WANNA BE AN AMERICAN IDIOT

Huh, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is supposed to be some sort of psychadelic, hippi-epic. I don't know what I should have expected, something like Bohemian Rapsody fits the term 'epic proportions' in my mind. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida did try to open a door to some unholy dark place, but I was not the one to enter. Maybe it is something real special, in another time, in another state of mind..

Puh, tuff to get into at the beginning, but damn does this album tear you apart und put you back together again! Really pushing the boundaries of what can be enjoyed as music, while always holding on to a sense of melodie. An atmosphere thats really one of a kind!

Crazy atmospheres to fall into, but not necessarily something to dance to. Partly reminds me of St. Peppers.

Amazing alt-rock. ahead of it's time, your suprised the album was released in the 80s when listening for the first time, could have just as well been released 2 days ago.

Great calofornian garage/punk rock. Bavkground guitar kinda stays in this same sharp, fast rythm througout.

Classic, just peak 90's rap, great flows, hard hitting vocal punches, laid back beats and excelent samples. What can you say - fucking badass music making whole generations jump up and down

Really chill music, to indulge or just leave running in the background (one of few albums i can keep playing while studying). Melancolic voice in an uplifting way, nice acoustic guitar and a calm trumpet on one or the other occasion, what more do you need.

Not my drift, but nice country mixed with different influences from neighbouring genres.

Chill rock, like Talking Heads is known for. Voice is unmistakeable, textst kinda quirky sometimes.

Ray Charles the goat, you feel really posh having this is your background music while eating or studying, but nothing I'm crazy about. Seeing videos of him performing live is crazy tho, you see the energy flowing through him, something music close to your heart makes you feel, and I can vibe with that.

One of the fucking greatest Rap-Almbums of all time

Newer heard of Herbie Hancock, but his shit slaps. Nice background music, to have conversations while driving, to read, etc.. Like the backdrop to the movie of ypur life.

Rich voice, over various beats including country/folk and also more jazzy sounds. Some up-beat (hopp-hopp-hopp) type music and than also some drawn out in-the-feels kinda music.

Just read into elliott smith and damn how could i sleep on such talent. Beatiful soft voice in a changing mixture of different genre and styles. With certain people you instantly realize how they understand music on a different level. Mastering all different kinds of instruments and blending different perspectives on music. Not only that, but Elliot is someone you realize has so much to tell you, music is his vehicle. Someone to defdinetly insulge in deeper when given the time.

Beginnings of a legend. His iconic, cartoonishly drawn our voice (almost on a sarcastic level, like he's drunk or trying to impersonate trump, or both) over guitar. Already with his iconic mouth piece. Very folky, before his big rock hits. Not something i go crazy about, but really interesting where he came from

Listening to this shit drunk at 3am on the bus to the safety of your home is a hell of a ride. The whole album takes you through these different worn-dowm atmospheres and you forget about time for a while.

Cant think of one occassion where I would put this on, so I have been puting this one of for a long time. And once I did listen to it - damn it blew me away, I mean, I can't think of a single person that would deny she's one of the greatest voices of our time. That said, I still don't listen to this kind of music, even though her voice got me in aw.

Was suprised how many songs I already knew, without ever having heard of the band. Such a destinct sound, without being random. So much fun to listen to.

90s rap gotta be one of my favourite genres, so I'm always gonna be biased. Man ice cubes one of the greatest, this seemingless flow, his dry humour, the tales and social comentary. This guy was everywhere when I was a kid and you can see why. Absolute legend.

See why its so popular, but honestly sounds like the most bland, mainstream appealing form of music to me, without any rough edges. Was looking forward to finally having some indie in here, but was sadly disappointed.

Great stuff! R.E.M.s one of my favourite bands, and to finally get to.listem to their debut gives me another perspective on them. On the edge of a 4, but they've got so much greater stuff coming

Not something for me to necessarily go back to or something to get wild about, but again, a fascinating window to a different time. That's such a thrilling aspect of this project, next to getting to know new tunes. Green onions I have heard many times, but Booker T? And the acctual songs name, Green onions? All new to me and I'm here fot it. People calling it elevator really got me laughing, and they've got a point - but really you have to open yourself up for these experiences, for the tale behind it and the legacy it left. And other than that - It's a damn groovy tune.

Almost put this of early, but with this we truly have something mystical in our hands (if the portuguese language wasn't mystical enough on its own). Pure artistic innovation in times of oppression. Something to look into further, to take the time and really listen again. This is one you truely can't put in any single "genre" drawer.

Not bad at all, I mean, annoying to listen at home, this is music to mive your feat to - and outdaten one at that, but really fun seeing what these guys came up with. Nice samples and distortions, really ahead of their time considering the release year 1997. Inspiration for every hobby-MC trying to learn

There's something in here, I haven't quite found it yet.

Huh, not my usual cup o tea. Very vocal-driven music with simple, raw guitar strumming, almost like a modern bard - he is acctually more of a political poet than anything else. Many can't stand his raunchy voice and british accent, so be warned. Suprisingly very touching for me, and works very wll, without any fancy effects added in mastering. His musical range was also quite striking with Socialist Union-Songs, more mainstream-fit 'britpop'-ish music all the way to folk-songs on disc 2. 👏🏼

What a whicked ride! Made my roommate come out and ask "What the fuck is this noise your making?!" Really only works as an album, one Trip from start to finish. The songs on their own don't convey much, but are mearily part of a bigger landscape.

Didn't have a bad time with this - the loops and transitions are really creative, made me laugh several times and definitely somewhat danceable. The thing is - EDM progresses so fast, that the shit you hear today at Festivals, Clubs, Parties, won't be all to relevant in a few years time, except for a nostalgic callback maybe. I don't know anyone eho listens to Avicii anymore, even though he's a legend. Similiar thing here - dont think anybody will be to impressed with this ultra-repetetive sound. For me this is more of a time-capsule, a relic maybe. Will show my DNB-Friends and see if I can get a reaction out of them. Intresting, but not listenable to me in any situation

Holy shit, such a Cheese-Fest. At first a was like: hm, nice funky beats, smooth voice talking over the rythm, could this hit the same spot Parliament/Funkadelic or Tribe Called Quest do so good, but I was disappointed. The lyrics are such on the nose, cheesy bullshit and the rythms are nothing I havent heard before

Great find, really pressing atmosphere - not what I normaly listem to - but that's what this project is all about
