Darkness on the Edge of Town
Bruce SpringsteenI work, and work, and trucks, and work. My daddy worked and worked, and I'm tired, baby, trucks.

A couple catchy fun tunes. Singer hits some great ghost notes, and I like the background vocals, soulfullness, melodies. Same artist that does the Pata Pata song the kids like in just dance.
Decent guitar work. Very vibrato vocalist, to the point where it was sheep-like. 1997...at that point lots of other similar grunge albums out doing similar things, arguable w better writing so not sure why this one was on list compared to similar others from the era. Still liked it all things considered.
Interesting use of vocal harmonies, w 80s synth drums. Lots of instruments. Overall not styles I seek out, but can't deny the talent, creativity, and how this album captures and defined 80s sound. Didn't hear any single song i wanted to hear again immediately tho.
Solid up tempo songs, some catchy tunes clearly influenced the darkness.
1st song is a great driving groove of a tune, followed by many songs of aimless singing melodies and droning electronic noises and beats nowhere near the groove, energy, and coolness of first song.
Hated it, baby girl.
Respect +2
Sounds like a lamb, bit more gratuitous use of voice vibrato than Jeff Buckley or alt J, but if you can get past the voice, there is nice guitar picking in the album. 2 stars for that.
Ok background music. Singer voice and coughing mid song not my thing. 2 star
Classics like Wild Horses, can't you hear me knocking, brown sugar. +4
Not a fan
Pretty great and fun. Laughed at some of the lyrics. Like this group. +4.
2 star, decent songs, tired of hearing dude's whining voice.
Interesting, somehow never heard them before, and there are at least a couple songs I'll revisit and enjoyed. +4.
4 stars for thriller, billie jean, and beat it, classics, played to death known songs.
Kind of grates after a few songs. plus 2 for rock lobster
2.5 stars for wanting the funk
1 star, not even their best album and even if it were, there are still many better albums that could be on this list.
I work, and work, and trucks, and work. My daddy worked and worked, and I'm tired, baby, trucks.
Smmmmoth Jazzercise. 2 stars for them memorable 80s mom hits.
4 stars, plenty of great tunes, beetlebum, song 2, killer for your love, several others.
0 stars. Garbage noise, nothing worth relisten. Beginning to question the criteria used to make this list.
1 star, Way more bland than rolling stones, no comparison.
3, wow dude can sing and wonderfully perform live. Couple awesome tunes
2 star, honda of cash, decent acoustic guitar sound, couple nice tunes.
3.5, gimme shelter is amazing.
Some catchy jams. Made me want to revisit them. 3 star.
Heard this one when it came out... hard listening then, hard listening now...he knew he did not have much time left while creating/recording it. No track really stands out, especially compared to many great albums and songs Bowie left us. 2 stars for it being Bowie, there are quite a few other albums that better be on this list if this one is.
